How To Stop Worrying and Start Living: What Other People Think Of Me Is None Of My Business

Rate this book
Stress is a lot like love – hard to define, but you know it when you feel it... This book will explore the nature of stress and how it infiltrates every level of your life, including the physical, emotional, cognitive, relational and even spiritual. You’ll find ways to nurture resilience, rationality and relaxation in your everyday life, and learn how to loosen the grip of worry and anxiety. Through techniques that get to the heart of your unique stress response, and an exploration of how stress can affect your relationships, you'll discover how you can control stress instead of letting it control you. But this book is not just another “anti-stress” book. Here, we will not be concerned with only reducing the symptoms of stress. Rather, we'll try to understand exactly what stress is and the role it plays in our lives. We'll attempt to dig deep to really understand the real sources of our anxiety and how to take ownership of them. Using the power of habit and several techniques for smoothing out the stressful wrinkles in our day-to-day lives, we'll move towards a real-world solution to living with less stress, more confidence and a deep spiritual resilience that will insulate you from the inevitable pressures of life. By adopting a trusting, open and relaxed attitude, we'll bring something more of ourselves to relationships of all kinds. This book will take a look at dating and relationships without stress and worry, as well as ways to bring tranquility and balance into your home and family life. We will address physical, emotional, relational, spiritual, and cognitive and behavioral symptoms of stress. While most stress-management solutions offer relief for symptoms in only one or two of the above areas, this book will show you how all five areas are important, and a successful stress solution will touch on each of them. We each only have one life - here's to spending it wisely! Grab your copy today!

This is a short guide with some pretty decent but simple advice. It is about taking time for yourself to relax your muscles and clear your mind. Stress is about our perception of the world and once you realise that all you control is yourself and your responses, it takes away the daily stresses. A message in this book is about how stress and anxiety is caused by focusing too much on the future and not enough on the now. I will be trying out a few of the activities suggested in this book to improve my stress-relief.

Easy to follow and easy read. Definitely has some good advice. Majority of the content can be perceived as victim-blaming due to many examples being regarding a person’s thoughts. Tells what a person can do but does not discuss more than surface level.

Wow!

A very concise read. Really informative and helpful!
The author has made me realise that it's my perception of my stresses that are doing damage to my mind, body
and spirit. I also learned that some stresses are out of my control, therefore I will endeavour to just let them go!
(with the help of the mind map exercises). It seems that it's just a matter of more positive thinking, and only taking
the things that we can control to task. I feel once I have more experience with the ' exercises ' (both physical and mental) I will have the tools and technique to a less stressful and more positive interaction with the world and the people in it! A big Thank You to the Author!

Simple advice , life changing strategy

This is a book everyone of us should carry daily. It's a little gem of basic profound helpful strategies. It should be given to every 20 year old starting out in life. It's the most basic type of logo therapy which makes it all the more useful. Amazing!

Certainly worth a read

Great book with some thought provoking ideas. The short chapters work well for this style of book and the stress map is a useful concept.
