Gostei imenso das personagens. A Prim é uma mulher forte, muito protetora da sua família e o Nik é um fofo, que quando percebe quem realmente é Prim desenvolve logo sentimentos por ela.
Também gostei muito da sua família, muito próximos e presentes uns para os outros e que apoiaram logo a relação entre Prim e Nik
A história está escrita de forma interessante e gostei da forma como as mulheres têm poder e escolha neste mundo
A única coisa que me estava a fazer alguma confusão e a "tirar do sério" era o back and forth e a indecisão que existia em estarem juntos ou não... eu só os queria ver juntos 😭🤭

Este é o primeiro livro da série e só vos digo isto: viciei completamente!
A história mergulha num mundo do crime, mais concretamente no tráfico de droga, com personagens fortes de famílias ricas e poderosas. Convencida de que pode ajudar a família a manter a reputação e a evitar conflitos, afinal, é a futura herdeira da sua família no mundo do crime, Prim propõe um casamento de conveniência com Nikolay, filho de uma família influente e de um dos maiores drug dealers de sempre.
Aquilo que começa como um acordo estratégico acaba por obrigá-los a conviver, a conhecerem-se verdadeiramente e, sobretudo, a descobrirem lados inesperados um do outro.. Claro que, à partida, ele também não parecia grande coisa… ou pelo menos era isso que ela achava.Porque a verdade é que temos aqui um Nik diferente! Maduro e super fofinho! Aqui aplica-se mesmo o ditado: as aparências iludem.
No entanto, nada é fácil para Prim e Nik, sobretudo por causa de uma família rival e, em especial, de uma valente cobra: Evelyn, que faz de tudo para impedir que este casamento aconteça.
A Prim irritou-me algumas vezes com as suas explosões e mudanças repentinas de humor, mas mostrou também a sua força e persistência .
Gostei da dinâmica da sua família, desde os pais às irmãs , marcada por um espírito de união e entreajuda incrível.
O Nik tem uma personalidade fantástica e fiquei surpreendida com algumas das coisas que ele fez e disse ao longo da história. Quero um Nik para mim!
Entre aventuras, indecisões, momentos de tensão e também alguns bem spicy, esta foi uma leitura extremamente agradável. Diverti-me tanto que, quando dei por mim, já estava no fim do livro… e eu não estava preparada para isso.
Quero definitivamente continuar a ler esta série! Recomendo muito!

First I want to thank Joana for gifting me this book! She was absolutely amazing with everything.
Now about the book, I enjoyed it very much. It’s a small book so you can read it in an afternoon and it’s very cute as well. I really liked the premise and I wish we could’ve seen more about the business side and how it was handled. The best part was Prim’s family, it was amazing how they had her and Nikolay’s back with everything.
Prim was a strong minded character, always putting family first and protecting them no matter what. We could really see that when she cared for someone she would do everything to make sure they were okay. Nikolay was a bit shy and hot headed but also very protective of his loved ones. He didn’t had a easy life or a caring family so for him, sometimes it was difficult to express himself or make some wrong choices but we could see that he had a great heart and that he was trying to do the best he could. I feel like this should’ve been longer so we could see their relationship develop more and also see them in the future.
I’m super curious about her sisters so I’ll definitely read the rest of the series!

Após ter lido os 2 primeiros livros da Fated Trilogy, que aconselho todos a lerem, amei as imensas referências a personagens que, apesar de não "estarem presentes" neste primeiro livro, Thorns of Obligation, impactam tanto ou trazem contexto à história. Todo este drama e tensão de um casal ter um casamento arranjado, em que ela toma iniciativa unicamente para proteger/salvar a família, demonstra o quanto a personagem pode ser forte/poderosa. Já a personagem masculina deste casal demonstra o quão os homens podem ter uma casca superficial para "corresponder" às "obrigações" com a sociedade, demonstra também que um homem por vezes pode ser sentimental e menos uma rocha.

3,5⭐ em relação á história não tenho nada a apontar, adorei, especialmente o facto de termos um MMC fofi 🤭 o plot é top e as personagens interessantes.
Os diálogo são marcados por "" o que não gostei e fez me perder algumas vezes.
Ao longo da narrativa senti que as coisas se passaram muito rápido e não consegui mergulhar muito bem na história. Mas no geral gostei e vou ler o resto da série 🖤

I absolutely loved Thorns of Obligation. The story pulled me in so quickly, and got me hooked the whole time. Prim's struggle between duty and desire is written in a way that really hits.
Prim and Nikolay’s relationship intense and the slow emotional build-up, and the way their relationship develops is addictive. I kept wanting to read “just one more chapter.”
You can really feel the care invested into the characters

~ O Nikolay é um MMC pelo qual nos apaixonamos de imediato. Por fora aparenta ser durão, mas por dentro ele é um teddy bear que faz tudo pela sua mulher. (Acha que é um pitbull mas é um golden).
~ A Prim (Chain) é uma badass que tem o controlo da sua vida, é uma artista, mas algumas "explosões" e indecisões dela irritaram-me um bocadinho.
~ Toda a família da Prim é incrível, adorei ver toda a entreajuda e toda a rede de apoio que eles são e a forma como acolheram o Nik na família. (O found family é maravilhoso).
~ A relação do Nikolay e da Prim começa de modo atribulado (por ser um casamento arranjado) mas que depressa se tornou em algo real. Temos algumas cenas spicy (o Nik sabe o que faz), temos tensão e química entre os 2. Adorei ver como o Nik se esforçava e lutava pela relação com a Prim mesmo quando tudo parecia que não ia desenvolver.
~ Odiei o pai do Nik e a víbora que estava disposta a acabar com o casamento a todo o custo, mas o Nik soube pô-la no seu devido lugar.
~ Com duplo POV, capítulos curtos e escrita fluida é uma leitura rápida, apesar de estar escrito em inglês (que achei super acessível e eu pouco leio em inglês).

The first book of Thorns Of is absolutely incredible! It introduces us to two main characters, Prim and Nicolay, who come from two powerful and influential families within a dangerous empire. Prim’s family stands at the top, holding the most power, while Nicolay’s family is just as ambitious.
The story really takes shape when Nicolay’s father proposes uniting the two families to expand their empire (even further) through an arranged marriage. What makes it even more intense is that Prim agrees to the marriage not out of love, but to prevent a war between the families. That decision alone adds so much emotional weight to the story, showing her strength, sense of responsibility, and the pressure she carries.
Prim and Nicolay’s relationship is incredibly compelling. There’s tension, resistance, and undeniable chemistry between them, making every interaction feel charged and meaningful. You’re constantly questioning their true feelings and intentions, which keeps the story addictive and unpredictable.
And then there’s Evelyn… she brings even more chaos into the mix. She keeps inserting herself between them, creating drama and making everything more complicated. Her presence adds another layer of tension that keeps you guessing and fully invested in what will happen next.

The moment I saw mafia and arranged marriage, I was sold. That trope combination just has me in a chokehold every single time. This is a dark romance, but in my opinion, it leans more toward emotionally intense than truly dark, which I personally enjoyed.
Prim is such a ray of sunshine. She’s warm, full of light, and brings such soft, comforting energy to the story. And Nikolay? Completely gone for her. The yearning this man had… I ate it up 🤭😮💨 He’s down bad in the best way, and I loved being inside his head and watching his feelings unfold.
The plot is fast-paced and hooks you right from the beginning. I flew through it! At times, I did wish things slowed down just a little. I would’ve loved more longing, more tension, and a deeper dive into the mafia world and how that whole kingdom operates. A bit more background and build-up would have made the emotional payoff even stronger.
There were a few minor spelling and grammatical errors throughout, but nothing that takes away from the overall reading experience.
Overall, this is a compelling, addictive read that keeps you turning the pages until the very end.
I’m definitely curious (and excited) to continue the series!

Este livro agarrou-me pela intensidade da história e pela forma como as emoções das personagens são tão cruas e reais. Há dor, segredos e um passado pesado que influencia cada escolha e cada aproximação entre eles. A tensão entre a Prim e o Nik cresce de uma forma intensa e quase sufocante, e foi impossível não ficar completamente investida na forma como eles lidam com tudo o que carregam dentro de si ❤️🔥
É daquelas histórias onde o amor nasce no meio do caos, da dor e das obrigações… e isso torna tudo ainda mais poderoso. Obrigada Joana pela oportunidade de ler este livro e definitivamente preciso de continuar a serie ❤️
