This edition is no longer in print, but Radical Happiness is available in a more recent edition.
Radical Happiness provides the keys to experiencing the happiness that is always present and not dependent on circumstances. This happiness doesn't come from getting what we want, but from wanting what is here now. It comes from realizing that who we think we are, that is, who our thoughts tell us we are is not who we really are. This is a radical perspective! True happiness comes from experiencing our true nature by being present in each moment.
Radical Happiness describes the nature of the egoic state of consciousness, how the ego interferes with happiness, how to detach from the ego, how to be in the moment, how to be with emotions in a way that heals and releases them, what awakening and enlightenment are, and how to live in this world following awakening. Exercises are included to help you apply the information and transform your experience of life--and become happier!
Gina Lake is a nondual spiritual teacher and the author of over twenty books about awakening to one’s true nature. She is also a gifted intuitive and channel with a master's degree in Counseling Psychology and over thirty years’ experience supporting people in their spiritual growth. In 2012, Jesus began dictating books through her. These teachings from Jesus are based on universal truth, not on any religion. Then in 2017, at the request of Jesus, Gina and her husband, who is also a nondual spiritual teacher, began offering Christ Consciousness Transmissions to groups online in weekly meetings and monthly intensives. These energy transmissions are a direct current of love and healing that accelerate one’s spiritual evolution. Gina’s YouTube channel has over 175 messages from Jesus to listen to. Her website offers information about her books, online courses, transmissions, a free ebook, and audio and video recordings: http://www.radicalhappiness.com
This book has been a truly thought provoking guide to finding my way to using my ego as a tool rather than allowing my ego to take control. Gina Lake writes in a way that is easy to understand and she provides effective ways to follow her guidance. This is a must read for anyone seeking spiritual growth.
With its simple suggestions and exercises Gina Lake's book, Radical Happiness, enables the reader to easily drop into the experience of an awakened life, perhaps never to return to the egoic state of consciousness. Its hopeful message is that our natural state is available to us whenever we place our attention there rather than on the contents of the mind. I wholeheartedly recommend this book for seekers who have tired of the search and are ready to become finders. If I had read Radical Happiness without knowing who authored it, I could have readily attributed it to Eckhart Tolle. In the genre of books on self-realization, it stands unmatched.
I have read numerous books on spiritual awakening, but unlike most, this book is easy to read, understandable, conceptually sound, and right on target. One does not have to be a Buddhist monk or a lifelong practitioner of spiritual awareness in order to grasp the process of awakening as presented in this book. It is quotable, memorable and thorough. Thank you Ms. Lake.
Beautiful book. Taught me so much, about awakening, about life. Loved the guidance and the spiritual growth I found in reading this. Thank you, Gina Lake!
I gave this book a try because it had been compared to Byron Katie's work. This one didn't do it for me. There is a similarity in the final outcome, but where Katie's work is simple and down to earth, Ms. Lake's requires a little more open-mindedness. She encourages meditation (something that doesn't come easily for me), and looking inside yourself for the answers. Katie's approach requires no spirituality, no beliefs of any kind, no meditation or special concentration - you just "take a problem, write it down, ask four questions and turn it around". Bottom line, Katie's method works for me, and Gina Lake's does not. Perhaps for others, the opposite holds true.
If ever there was a time for humanity to evolve in Consciousness it is this present moment. This book offers clear and concise guidance for living in the Now rather than being stuck in egoic thought. A very inspiring book! One that should be on everyone's reading list.
