Anna’s facing the fear of her marriage coming apart at the seems because she realizes she will probably never be able to give her tycoon husband the children his very traditional Greek family so clearly expects. She’s shattered at the prospect of losing him, but won’t cling to a marriage doomed by her failure to be the woman he needs.
Loukas’s desire for Anna has only grown over the brief years of their marriage and he can’t understand why she’s pulling away from him right now. Will this Greek tycoon let his greatest treasure go?
I write spicy romance books that end in an HEA. Contemporary romance, historical romance, paranormal romance…I write it all. The two things my books all have in common is lots of emotion and spice. Last year, I fell in love with a new subgenre: mafia romance. Since I write what I love to read, I started a new standalone series, Syndicate Rules where you’ll meet over the top alpha heroes in the Italian and Greek mafias as well as the Irish mob. There are arranged marriages, forced marriages, enemies to lovers, stalkers, forced proximity and lots of mafia intrigue. Morally gray is my new favorite color.
I’ve been published a while and most of my 90+ books have hit the Nielson Bookscan bestseller list, a few ended up on the USA Today bestseller list and some even hit national bestseller lists in the UK and Australia. My books have been translated into numerous languages and are for sale in dozens of countries around the world. I’ve won awards and been published with most of the big houses in New York, but my greatest achievement is touching readers’ hearts. When I hear from a reader who got caught up in one of my books, I know I’m doing what I’m meant to do.
I love writing emotionally deep stories with snappy dialogue and solid plots. I’m more grateful than I’ll ever be able to express that so many readers have taken my stories into their hearts and put my books on their reread and keeper shelves.
This was a pretty decent Harlequin short story written by Lucy Monroe. This couple has already been married for two years and has been trying to have a baby.
This was a vignette, so a short story, not a lot of time for character development; but, that being said, the author did a good job of bringing the story together. It made me want to know more about the characters and what led them to this point in their lives.
Very short and sweet vignette. Loukas and Anna have been married for two years with no babies and Loukas's father is talking about leaving the company to his cousin if they don't have kids. So Anna gets tested for infertility, but she feels that something is wrong and it's with her. So she broaches the subject of divorce, to give Loukas a chance with someone else, since theirs was a business marriage and she doesn't realize he loves her.
As I said...short, sweet and cute. I've seen this done before with this author..the "we have to divorce" instead of "I want a divorce" - two very different statements which can lead to a lot of heartache and confusion. In that other story, that's exactly where it went. In this one, it was corrected very quickly and we get to the problem - she wants to leave him for his own good. And since he's never said he loved her, why should he object?

What I liked: I liked Loukas and how he let Anna(h) know that she was his number one and he would give up inheriting the business for her.
What I didn’t like: I felt like the story should have been longer.
How hot was it: 0 out 5
Triggers: H and h are married. h is infertile and wants a divorce so the H won’t lose his inheritance
Final thoughts: This is not my first book by Lucy Monroe and I will definitely read more of her books. Unfortunately, this book was just ok and I think it would have been a lot better if it was longer.

For being a short story a lot was packed in there. In hearing that the family business might be left to the child producing cousin our heroine still childless after 2 years decides to get tested but is too afraid to hear the results. Her husband confronts her and learns she wants to divorce him. In learning the reason he realizes that she needs more than just actions to believe in his love. They do get their HEA.
This was a short read and delivered what I was expecting.
It's a mini Mills & Boon style story featuring the standard set of expected characters - the wealthy, foreign born hero and the uncertain heroine. Neither is great at communicating their feelings and of course this fans the flames in the expected drama. It's not a spoiler to say the couple get their HEA.
For a short story, it's well-balanced. My one minor gripe is the epilogue feels rushed. This is not helped by a solution that likely came about so quickly due to the hero greasing the wheels...
It’s so difficult to resist this kind of stories. Although being small, it has such beauty in it. It gives hope to its readers; hope to find love and happiness even in tragic situations. I always love to read books where the male protagonist has Greek, Spanish or Muslim nationality, they seems to have such a sexy and strong personality, which only makes the story better. I love to see when a woman slowly becomes important to them and when they think they have the power in the relationship, it’s the opposite. Without knowing, women always have the power in these stories. This is only a small story, a way to learn more about Lucy’s writing, but I’m completely amazed by the way that she writes this and, in such a few lines, she makes me to question and to dream about it. I loved the characters and I believe they really deserves a novel, they’re love story would be so beautiful and I feel they have so much to tell us…One day, who knows… One thing I surely know, I want to read more of Lucy’s books. Congratulations!

Short story by one of my favorite authors. This is good. LM knows her way to write an interesting story, no matter how short. The only thing is - it's only 3 chapters long. Way too short to get to any other plot but the infertility issue.
It was ok. Should has been better. They never did say who or if any one of the can have kids. They miss the point, on that one adoption, was good, but she should had been pregnant, by surprise.
fast paced, lots of dialogues, could have been longer but I understand it's really a short story. I'm grateful for Lucy writing it as gift to her followers.
Talk about wishing the short story was longer. Two people who are made for each other and being really happy together is really good. This short story made me smile.
A short, but extremely sweet read. Be warned that much of the resolution of the story happens in the epilogue - and you don't really get the full answer to Anna's dilemma.
Very good short story with Lucy's touch. I'm curious if she really is infertile though, it was never really clear, the adoption might mean that she was.
