Ian isn’t alone; he now has a roommate, a gnarled and nasty gnome with no mind or mouth filter and a lascivious mind.

Oops, forgot the romantic tension hot enough to fry a mother board. Great entertainment told with a distinct flare for fantasy!

Techno Crazed is a super quick read that reimagines what a futuristic world involving the paranormal would be like. Those who have magic can control technology with simple thoughts and do amazing things with it. The boundaries of what we know magic to be able to do have definitely been expanded in this book.
As a series starter, I thought it was well written with a lot of humor. The characters were cute and all worked well together. The lil gnome dude made me snicker quite a few times. The relationship between Hannah and Ian is interesting but not that surprising since they were once together.
This is a cool mashup of genres, if your into science fiction and paranormal, I'd suggest giving this a try.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book! Does anyone remember the TV Series, Moonlighting featuring the Blue Moon Detective Agency starring Cybil Shepherd as Maddie Hayes and Bruce Willis as David Addison? Well, move over Moonlighting, Hacked is jacked and filled to the brim with danger, mystery, suspense and sexy romance plus a delicious side order of humor, magic and supernatural mayhem! Techno Crazed is the first novella in the Hacked Investigation Series by Sarah Makela. This is also her first cyberpunk romance release and she did a fantastic job! Makela dazzles her readers yet again with her astounding imagination and delightful creativity which she skillfully demonstrates in this unique, exceptionally well crafted story. I have no idea what Makela uses to get her creative juices flowing, but whatever it is, I want some! The story is original, unique, exciting, riveting, suspenseful, funny, romantic, sweet, arousing, sensual and exceptionally well written in the third person with fascinating inserts of inventive techno jargon. Recommended reading, not only for the humor, action or decent story, but also for its ability to keep you reading it until you are done.
While the storyline is interesting, the real enjoyment is reading the character interaction and development through the story. The personalities of the main characters and the sometimes dry, sometimes just tongue-in-the-cheek humor tie it all into a well-working whole.
Overall, highly recommended and one of the rare books I give 5 stars to.

The writing is good and the storyline was unique but it was very thin. There’s not really an explanation of their past, the technological language was a bit difficult to get through, there’s no explanation of the magic, and the gnome was so creepy why even include that. There’s sex scenes came at really forced times, were very vanilla, and she came once in a super unrealistic was. This needed to be longer and more well explained but was an interesting idea.

I was given this book to read and review. I admire Sahara Makela her writing are Brillant! I a very hard person to please when reading comtempary romance mainly because I love to lose myself into the fantasy scene. In this storyline there is a little something for us all it's very funny, romantic, riveting, original, exciting, thrilling, riveting, fascinating,steamy Hot and sexy. The characters are engaging, interesting, captivating, imaginative, sexy and so funny you may have to change your clothes after laughing so hard. The dialogue is witty, smart and modern but gives you a glance into the supernatural. The pace flows smoothly all the way to the end. Sarah my hat's off to you because you gave us magic and captured my attention from the start and before I knew it I had finish the book.

"An Amazing Romance"
This is a different kind of Romance. The story line is fantastic!. The characters are awesome!. Right first off you have suspense,action, humor and Romance!. Hanna is a PI one day she gets a call from a man names Rich who says he has Information about killings of several Senators that Max home Security was behind them . While on the phone with Hanna Rich says for her to get a hold of a IT guy named Malloc that he can help. Then before Rich hangs up he tells her to meet him at a Coffee shop and gives her the address. Before he hangs up Hanna hears gun shots now it sounds like Rich may have been killed. After hanging up Hanna leaves her office heads to her car and right before she gets there her car blows up. So now she knows she is in trouble so she gets a hold of the Malloc who turns out to be her almost boyfriend Ian. Ian is a technomage. Ian takes Hanna to his apartment to protect her. Ian also has a Gnome living with him lol. Can Ian protect Hanna and can they prove Max Home security was behind the killings?. This is a super amazing suspenseful Romance!. You will love Sarah Makela's books!.

Wow, what a crazy and fun story!
I absolutely loved this story, we are in the future with Ian a Technomage, Hannah the P.I. and love of his life and the quirky, crazy, but not so ignorant gnome Bernard!
Ian has the ability to retrieve data in his head and shoot sparks of electrical wires from his hands and Bernard is the pain in the A** who has the ability to heal and make the bad guys hurt themselves without even looking at them.
Hannah is swept into all this craziness she never even knew existed...She always thought Ian was just a geek, who preferred the company of a computer than hers and now she finds out that there was more to her ex then met the eye. She is thrown into a conspiracy and together with her geek must clear their names and show the world the true colors of a very powerful and controlling Max Home Security.
Lots of action and so much fun, this story was a true pleasure to read... I laughed so hard at Bernard's antics, I think he was my favorite, not to say I didn't like the hot geek. Hot passion between Ian the Technomage and his girl Hannah.
Can't wait to read their next adventure

After being contacted by a Max Home Security ex-employee, private investigator Hannah Franklin’s life is turned upside down and her only hope of survival lies in the hands of a man she never expected to welcome back in her life in this exciting cyberpunk romance.
He’s lost his girlfriend, his job and acquired a very annoying gnome and now Ian Bradley’s ex is in danger and needs his help and the reader can’t help but follow the circuitry and excitement as Ian and Hannah try to stay alive against a corporation. This story has lots of interesting elements and intriguing ideas that grab the reader’s attention and bring them into a new and fascinating world where the possibilities are as endless as a certain technomage’s resources. There is lots of excitement as Hannah and Ian lead the bad guys on a chase around town, quite a bit humor brightens things up courtesy of an annoying gnome and the characters are strong, compelling and draw the reader into this well written, fast paced and smooth flowing plot, and while the story is on the short side, there is never a dull moment to be found.

Wow, this was great. This book has it all, excitement, murder, conspiracy, a second chance love story and a gnome! What more could you ask for? Well, a techno-mage of course. Tech plus magic = awesome. I've never read steampunk before and wasn't going to, but if it's all as good as this I will be reading more of it. Sarah Makela really set it off with the grumpy deadly gnome. He made the story fun. Looking forward to the next one.

Even before I hit the second chapter of this book, I was hooked! This book has a little bit of everything in it: comedy, romance, sci-fi, mystery, suspense.
It is all about Hannah, a private eye, and how she ends up teaming up with her ex, Ian, and his gnome, Bernard, to bring down MAX Security.
It is a very fast-paced book, which keeps you wanting to see what is going to happen next.
I can't wait to read the next one in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, I am so glad that I read this book! I am a big big fan of this author's work and this book is no exception!!! I loved this book and how unique it is! I haven't really read about a Techno-Mage before so that made this read so different and unique for me and I loved that! I always love reading authors that embrace new ideas and this book is definitely that!!!
This is a very addictive storyline that will have you obsessively turning the pages to read more of this story and find out what is going to happen next and I am so excited that this is the beginning of a series!!! The author definitely writes in such a way that lures you into her fantasy world where you don't want to leave!!!
Hannah is such a courageous and strong woman that really seems to be able to deal with anything that comes her way, she seems to be able to take it in her stride no matter her inner feelings about a situation. I love reading about her and Ian reconnecting, how a mistake in the past doesn't keep them apart! I would love to know more about Ian’s abilities! He is extremely protective and loving to those that he cares about and that is something I always love to read about. I have to mention Bernard! Just as Hannah Franklin was nodding off in her office, having tried to finish the last two reports before going home for some sleep, the phone’s ringing jarred her awake. The male voice sounded panicked. He identified himself as Rich Granger and said he used to work for MAX Home Security. He had proof that they were killing off anyone who made any kind of move or took action against their company! Before her informant could set up a meeting with her, the bad guys found him and shots were fired as she listened on the phone – and she heard him die! When an attempt is made on her own life, Hannah must turn to the one person she didn’t want back in her life – the technomage, Ian Bradley.
This book will keep the reader actively invested in the clever story line. The humor and fast action are compelling. I guess the gnome is in there for comic relief – you’ll either love him or hate him, but he won’t take away the fun of this magical story! The relationships of the characters are outstanding and draw the reader in even further. This is a very good book that I can easily recommend.

Hannah's life has just been threatened after receiving a strange phone call and now her ex-boyfriend, Ian, brings her to his apartment to be patched up by a gnome. Yeah, passing out seems like a great idea about now.
Great story, wonderful characters, fantastic read and I just love the gnome! Bernard will keep you laughing while Ian and Hannah keep you on the edge of your seats.

Different, but good. There again, I can't say this is my favorite type of story. There is steam, but the gnome was irritating and did nothing for the story. The intrigue is interesting and there is a small amount of mystery.

This is the first novella in the Hacked Investigation Series and is an intriguing read. You get a great mix of romance, action, mystery and the supernatural.
I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Hannah is a tough woman and not one to back down. Ian has amazing abilities and is really determined to protect his ex. The gnome adds some humor to the story and is really funny. I can't wait to see where the series goes next.

Inhale. Exhale. Rinse. Repeat. 5 TECHNO STARS
Ian was the only person she could trust right now. Yet after what they’d been through before... WOW! What a truly magical, CYBERRIFIC story!! Even though it is a shortish story it's DEFINITELY long on content! The intensity level had me gripping my poor tablet from beginning to end, while Bernard ensured there was always some form of entertainment to be had from a smile to laugh out loud humor to WTF to creepy and everything in-between. While we didn't get a lot of background on Ian & Hannah, that wasn't an issue or even missed quite simply because Sarah focused on building them as strong characters in the here & now. I was drawn to Hannah right from the start, intrigued by her ability to keep pushing through everything bad & scary happening to her to find hope, happiness and maybe even love. I won't lie and say that I was content with this being a shorter story, but only because Sarah has created this FAN-TECHNO-TASTIC world with technomages, gnomes, DIGITLICIOUS characters and so many more CHIPTASTIC features I want to know more about! Using her TECHNOMENAL talent, Sarah has created one helluva unique CYBERTACULAR World that I NEVER want to leave! The attention to detail as well as the detailed "computer-speak" is so perfectly balanced with the romance, humor, intensity, etc. that it gives this SPECTECHULAR story life, as well as deeply enriches every aspect of it, turning this into one Techno-Crazed/can't-put-down kind of story that will have you holding your breath, laughing, panting and grinning from ear to ear all while tagging along on Hannah & Ian's Hacked Investigations! Now I'm off to read the rest of this series! No wards needed to keep me locked into this story! Sarah may call this a cyberpunk romance, but I say it’s one Techno Crazy book like GNOME other!

Techno Crazed is my first introduction into the writing style of Sarah Makela and I will have to say YIPPEEEEE loudly! This short but eventful futuristic read was thrilling and refreshing. I enjoyed this book and all of the scifi elements, especially since I was nursing a book hangover from Ilona Andrew's Burn for me!!
Sarah's world was built with precision and remained consistent; her characters Hanna and Ian were totally realistic and well rounded and the plot thickens with every new page turn. I enjoyed the main character's interactions and the added splash of the zippity spunky gnome Bernard who is Ian's, the technomage, roommate.
Even though the premise is the same (old flames that didn't want the flames to go out, but had to for the sake of the greater good AND then **BREATH*** got back together to save the day), the novella took me by storm and I hope it will you too!
Sarah, I tip my Nerd Girl Hat to you and can not wait to read the next book!!!

Techno Crazed was a quick, well-written, easy read. It is a short novella-style story, and I quite enjoyed it as such. Old flames Ian and Hannah are thrown together when a corporation is involved in murdering people, including 2 senators. Rich, a friend of Ian's, is murdered while on the phone to PI Hannah, in the process of telling her he has information to bring down the corporation. This starts a chain of events wherein Ian, a technomage, and Hannah are on the run, with Ian's live-in gnome, Bernard. Ah Bernard, what can you say about this seemingly nasty little gnome except that he's a hoot and totally irritating. As Hannah and Ian try to figure out how to bring down the corporation with the help of Rich's ex, they have to stay ahead of the law and the corporation's goons. A thoroughly enjoyable quick read with lots of action and likable characters. With such a complex theme and without any world building, you are constantly questioning the whys and wherefores. That being said, with some detailed world-building and in-depth character building, this would have been one kick-ass full-length novel that I would have loved to read.

After being contacted by a Max Home Security ex-employee, private investigator Hannah Franklin’s life is turned upside down and her only hope of survival lies in the hands of a man she never expected to welcome back in her life in this exciting cyberpunk romance.
He’s lost his girlfriend, his job and acquired a very annoying gnome and now Ian Bradley’s ex is in danger and needs his help and the reader can’t help but follow the circuitry and excitement as Ian and Hannah try to stay alive against a corporation. This story has lots of interesting elements and intriguing ideas that grab the reader’s attention and bring them into a new and fascinating world where the possibilities are as endless as a certain technomage’s resources. There is lots of excitement as Hannah and Ian lead the bad guys on a chase around town, quite a bit humor brightens things up courtesy of an annoying gnome and the characters are strong, compelling and draw the reader into this well written, fast paced and smooth flowing plot, and while the story is on the short side, there is never a dull moment to be found.

Just as Hannah Franklin was nodding off in her office, having tried to finish the last two reports before going home for some sleep, the phone’s ringing jarred her awake. The male voice sounded panicked. He identified himself as Rich Granger and said he used to work for MAX Home Security. He had proof that they were killing off anyone who made any kind of move or took action against their company! Before her informant could set up a meeting with her, the bad guys found him and shots were fired as she listened on the phone – and she heard him die! When an attempt is made on her own life, Hannah must turn to the one person she didn’t want back in her life – the technomage, Ian Bradley.
This book will keep the reader actively invested in the clever story line. The humor and fast action are compelling. I guess the gnome is in there for comic relief – you’ll either love him or hate him, but he won’t take away the fun of this magical story! The relationships of the characters are outstanding and draw the reader in even further. This is a very good book that I can easily recommend.

Action, Advennture and Magic!
Hannah is a private detective and is getting a little bored with all the cheating spouse cases. She is dozing at her desk when the phone rings. A man named Rich Granger tells her that he has evidence that could damage the company he works for, and the company has sent people to kill him. She hears gunshots and is afraid the man she was just talking to is dead. When she leaves her office to go to the meeting place Rich suggested, her car explodes. Hannah calls the number of the hacker that Rich told her to contact if anything happened to him, and hears the voice of her ex, Ian. Ian is not only her ex, he is also a techno mage. It will be up to him and Hannah to take down MAX Home Security, the corrupt company that Ian used to work for and had Rich killed. With the data Rich managed to get from the corrupt company, a little help from a senator and a lot of guts, Hannah and Ian will have to take down the company. This is a great book and a fun read, the gnome Bernard is a hoot!

Techno Crazed was a little mix of old film noire, magic, technology and a rude gnome. Yep, it’s just the kind of story to make you take a step back and then start enjoying!
Hannah is a private detective and has just taken on a client that has ended up missing or dead. If that weren’t bad enough, the bad guys are now after her. Following a lead she runs into her exe, Ian, that happens to be a technomage and living with a rude and perverse gnome. Bernard, the gnome is hysterical as he’s not your typical happy go lucky garden variety. He’s dark and dangerous, getting off on ramping up people’s despair.
Hannah and Ian are off and about to solve the mystery of what happened to the client. Along the way they still have to avoid the bad guys and dig into the technology left behind for clues. It’s a good bit of cloak and dagger. I really enjoyed the old style PI routine that was mixed with the magic and technology. Along the way Hannah and Ian work their own magic together. I look forward to seeing what mischief Bernard can get into in the next story.

Loved this techno stuff!
This is the first book I've read in the Hacked Investigations series and it's a blast. I am a computer programmer myself so this was kinda fun. Unfortunately I have no magic powers - phoney! I would love to have magic powers. This book gave me a taste of a computer person with magic and I'm all in. There's a crazy gnome who is very loud and can be somewhat annoying but since Ian, the magic guy, won't get rid of him, I guess ill see where this goes in the next books. There's mystery, intrigue, bad guys, explosions and all kinds of mayhem. Oh yes, I forgot to mention, there's also some steamy love scenes between Ian and Hannah which the gnome tries to break up! This is one fun book. I bet you'll enjoy it. I barely put it down. And did I mention there's magic?

Techno Crazed is a well written. It is a suspenseful, futuristic, paranormal novella. It has excitement, humor, intrigue, magic, hot sex, suspense, murder, and high tech excitement. Sarah did a wonderful job of mixing up the different genres. This is a quick read and a great new genre that Sarah has created with her creative and unique thinking that will definitely entertain and draw you in.

Bernard is Ian's grouchy, funny, quick witted crazy gnome who has healing abilities. These three seem like a strange mix but they work well together. I thought this novella was a fun read and can wait to see what will come of this new series and its characters.

Ian who has once worked for Max Home Security finds himself having to keep his ex-girlfriend safe. He hates that his dead friend got her involved and has endangered her life.
Hannah will soon find out there is things she did not know about Ian and that some things she thought has myths are real.
Ian and Hannah will find themselves being wanted by the law. Not only must they find evidence against Max Home Security but also find a way to clear themselves as well.
