The sub-title promises "quick and easy meals the whole family will love" and that's why I requested this book. Who doesn't want some quick and easy recipes in this busy world?

But this comes with a few caveats:

1. Some recipes "cheat" on cooking time by having either pre-cooked or ready made / frozen ingredients like rice, pasta, beans or potato products. You might not be able to do everything from scratch in 30 minutes.

2. You have to be a good multitasker for some that have "while x is cooking, do y". You won't guess how often I overcooked pasta, burnt something, had a pot overflow, messed up straining etc. because I had to tend to another task at the same time.

3. Hope you like Mexican cuisine, at least half the recipes from the actual meals (I'm not counting numerous burgers / sandwiches or fruit salads) are inspired by Mexican cuisine. There's a few Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Indian) or European (mostly Italian but also some French) recipes, but they're a minority, there isn't an equal focus on different cuisines, so yeah... hope you like Mexican or burgers!

4. It assumes you have a big, well supplied in appliances kitchen. It often uses air fryer, multi-cooker / pressure-cooker, grill, and also the standard trio of oven, frying skillet and probably the least of all, your standard deep cooking pot. I was a bit disappointed how few recipes are actually for the pot. It was mostly air fryer, skillet, oven.

5. When it comes to ingredients, many are not basic always-have-at-home kind of items, so you have to prepare a shopping list for many of those recipes, they aren't very improvisation friendly, even though that's what I'd expect from a book of "easy" recipes.

Overall, the book is beautifully equipped with photos of each dish, and divided into sections for different kind of meat (beef, pork, chicken, turkey, fish & seafood), vegetarian dishes, salads, desserts and appetizers. What surprised me was so many salads were fruit salads - I wished for more pure vegetable compositions.

If you fulfill all the caveat conditions I've listed, there are some varied and non-basic recipes you can innovate your menu with. Keep in mind they might be neither as "quick" nor as "easy" as the tagline claims, and might need planning ahead both in shopping list and in pre-preparation of some components (hope you have cooked rice and fried / baked beans at your disposal).

Thank you Netgalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for the ARC.

This is a well put together cookbook. It is organized well and in a logical manner with a large, full color photo for every single recipe. There's not a lot by way of an introduction to the book. There are only one- or two-sentence introductions about each recipe. The categories are broken down into appetizers, then types of meat/seafood/meatless, side dishes, and desserts, with a cross-referenced index. The recipes all include very common ingredients that most cook should either have on hand or find easily at standard grocery stores, with easy-to-follow instructions. Some use less ingredients with shortcuts (like refrigerated crescent or pizza dough) and some have more extensive ingredient lists (usually of veggies and seasonings). Each recipe includes the prep time, cook time, and total time to make each recipe. Some recipes are under 30 minutes and some are slightly over, but each recipe seems to be aimed at convenience to help you when you're in a time crunch to get a good meal on the table in less time. While the recipes are not necessarily anything unique or new, this is a great cookbook to help newlyweds, college students, a busy mom, or anyone wanting some fast recipes to add to their rotation!

30-Minute Meals with Six Sisters’ Stuff promises a collection of over 100 quick, family-friendly recipes designed for busy home cooks who want flavorful meals without spending hours in the kitchen. With dishes like Tuscan Pasta, Easy Braided Pizza Loaf, and Five-Ingredient Peanut Butter and Jelly Thumbprint Cookies, the cookbook aims to deliver stress-free, pantry-friendly recipes that can be on the table in 30 minutes or less. While the book has its strengths, it falls short in some areas, particularly for those who prefer traditional cooking methods or question the “30-minute” claim.

One of the book’s highlights is its variety of approachable recipes, many of which are creative and appealing even to seasoned cooks. For instance, the Pineapple Pasta Skillet, an unexpected combination of flavors, proved to be a delightful surprise, winning over even a skeptical veteran home cook. The inclusion of hearty mains, refreshing sides like the Citrus Berry Salad, and indulgent desserts ensures there’s something for every occasion, from weeknight dinners to last-minute gatherings. The step-by-step instructions are clear and beginner-friendly, making the cookbook accessible to a wide audience.

However, the heavy reliance on pressure cookers for many recipes is a significant drawback. For those who don’t own or prefer not to use a pressure cooker—like this reviewer, who discarded theirs due to a preference for slower cooking methods that allow flavors to develop—the book feels limiting. Several recipes, including some that sounded enticing, were inaccessible because they provided directions exclusively for pressure cooker preparation. This lack of alternative cooking methods reduces the book’s versatility and may alienate readers who favor traditional stovetop or oven techniques.

Additionally, the “30-minute” promise in the title feels somewhat misleading. While some recipes may fit within this timeframe for experienced cooks, many dishes are likely to take longer, especially for beginners who are less familiar with prep work or multitasking in the kitchen. This discrepancy could frustrate readers expecting quick results, particularly novice cooks who might feel misled by the book’s branding.

Overall, this is a solid collection of creative, family-friendly recipes with broad appeal, but its reliance on pressure cookers and slightly exaggerated time claims hinder its universal usability. It’s a good pick for pressure cooker enthusiasts or those seeking fresh meal ideas, but it’s not ideal for everyone, especially those who prefer slower, traditional cooking methods or strict adherence to quick prep times. For these reasons, it’s not a cookbook I’d purchase for myself or recommend to others with similar preferences.

Delicious photos accompany two-page spreads for these easy, regular recipes for the home cook. There are several that indicate a "multi-cooker" and has a few air fryer options.

I would add this to my cookbook shelf.

This is the cookbook that all busy people have been waiting for. We have loved using the recipes here at my house. The recipes are easy to make and don't require many ingredients, and, of course, they can be prepared within 30 minutes.

There are many that we really enjoyed. It was also fun as we took turns cooking our favorite recipes. These are the recipes that we have tried so far...

*Chicken Taco Roll Ups

*Green Goddess Vegetable Dip

*Chopped Cheese Sandwich

*Grilled Teriyaki Burgers

*Oven Baked Beef Tacos

*Bacon Ranch Chicken

*Cashew Chicken Skillet Stir-Fry

*Sheet-Pan Pancakes

*Grilled Honey Mustard Pork Chops

*Honey Garlic Glazed Turkey Meatballs

*Lemon Cheesecake Pudding Cookies

*White Chocolate Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels

You might wonder which recipe was my family's favorite? That completely depends on who you ask. All I know is that my family will keep using this cookbook because we have only scratched the surface of the many yummy recipes you will find in the Six Sisters' Stuff 30-Minute Meals cookbook.

Thank you to NetGalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I am always looking for quick family meals to bring variety and easy to my meal planning so was excited to grab this arc. This book does have a wide range of recipes covering appetizers, a variety of protein mains, sides and desserts that are pretty quick to make. The biggest issue I have with this book is that all of the recipes are very basic and boring and have been seen in ever starter cookbook. I am not looking for another basic burger, enchilada or deviled egg recipe. It was all very unoriginal. There are tons of errors and typos, but I have the are so this might get fixed in production. A lot of the recipe photos were on the wrong recipes page, missing ingredients or amounts, and typos.

30-Minute Meals with Six Sisters' Stuff is a nice collection of family-friendly 30 minute homestyle meals by Six Sisters' Stuff. Released 2nd Sept 2025 by Shadow Mountain, it's 240 pages and is available in paperback and ebook formats.

This is a graphically appealing, well written, and accessible cookbook with an array of fast-prep menus with recipes to appeal to most tastes. Layout and formatting are appealing and beautifully photographed throughout. There is no introduction or basic techniques or tool info. The book hops right into the recipe selections. The recipes which are included are arranged roughly thematically: appetizers, beef, chicken, meatless, pork, seafood, turkey, sides, and desserts. There are 100 meals (which can be mixed and matched) with recipes, though many are not very complex at all, which is both beginner friendly and stress relieving, and not "fancy", but also potentially duplicated in other basic cookbooks. There's also a lot of reliance on the ever-trusty pressure cooker/instant pot, so cooks who don't have access to one in their kitchens should be aware of this.

Ingredient measurements are supplied in imperial (American) measurements only. The nutritional information is not included. Each recipe includes a header with a short description of the recipe and approximate servings. Extra tips or recipe alternatives are listed in text boxes in the recipes. The recipes themselves are fairly straightforward and are made for the most part with easily sourced ingredients. Many are very simple, none of them are overly complex. The photography is abundant and clear and the recipes are illustrated simply and clearly.

There are many simple "everyday" recipes which are anything but boring. Especially nice are that a lot of the appetizer recipes can be used as standalones to take to potlucks or gatherings, and would make really great "game day" or tailgate party recipes.

Four stars. This is a fun and practical cookbook which will be used. It would make a superlative housewarming gift to a friend or family member living on their own - college student, new graduate, newlyweds, kids flying the nest, etc or a friend trying to eat more health consciously with better quality ingredients as well as a nice acquisition for the home library.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

I want to thank Shadow Mountain Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of 30-Minute Meals with Six Sisters’ Stuff. All opinions presented here are solely mine.

Six Sisters’ Stuff is a popular blog that is run by, well, six sisters. Their blog focuses on creating memories and delicious meals. This is the first cookbook of theirs that I have read, but I had heard of them before requesting a copy. As a busy mom, I enjoy finding meals that taste great but don’t take a lot of time to make. While all of the recipes can be made in 30 minutes, there are a couple that require a bit of preparation (Mango Pineapple Frozen Whip).

The 100 recipes are divided into nine chapters.
Each is listed below with a few recipes.

Appetizers
Bacon Wrapped Tots
Chicken Taco Roll Up
Warm Bacon Cheese Dip
Beef
Asian Inspired Beef and Snow Peas
Creamy Beef and Tomato Pasta
Multicooker Ravioli Lasagna Soup
Chicken
Air Fryer Wings
Bacon Ranch Chicken
White Cheddar Corn Chowder
Meatless
Fresh Cajun Pasta
Pork
Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants
Pizza Skillet Pasta
Tuscan White Bean Soup
Seafood
Lemon Garlic Shrimp Pasta
Turkey
Egg Roll in a Bowl
Sides
Twisted Cheese Breadsticks
Orange Cream Yogurt
Dessert
Lemon Brownies
Puff Pasty Donuts
White Chocolate Cinnamon Pretzels
The recipe I did try, Creamy Beef and Tomato Pasta, was simple to pull together and felt so decadent for a 30-minute meal. Several of the recipes rely on ground meat. As such, I think that you could use any ground meat and still end up with delicious results.

My biggest issue with this book is the lack of variety in recipes. Several had Mexican influence, which isn’t a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination. The same could be said for the number of pasta recipes. I have a picky eater, and I’m not sure there are enough recipes that would satisfy her.

Overall, I enjoyed reading through 30-Minute Meals with Six Sisters’ Stuff. I look forward to making more of the recipes in here. This cookbook would be a perfect addition to any kitchen.

30-Minute Meals with Six Sisters' Stuff cookbook has many family friendly, speedy recipes that will help almost anyone to quickly get a meal on the table. Several weeks ago I prepared half a recipe of the Air Fryer Parmesan Broccoli recipe and the recipe was absolutely delicious. So good hubby wished I had prepared the full recipe. As I used my toaster oven to prepare the dish, I cut the recipe in half. In the future I'll either buy a air fryer or prepare the recipe in my convection oven instead.

Air Fryer Parmesan. Broccoli

1 head broccoli, cut into evenly sized pieces
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
Pinch crushed red pepper flakes, to taste, optional.
Grated parmesan cheese, optional topping

Preheat air fryer to 375 degrees F.

In a large bowl, toss broccoli with olive oil, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flake, if using.

Pour 1 tablespoon water into the bottom of the air fryer. This helps the food not to smoke and burn.

Lay the broccoli in a single layer in the bottom of the air fryer basket.

Cook until tender and crisp, about 8-10 minutes. Start checking it around 7 minutes-you can always cook it longer if needed.

Remove from basket, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top, and serve immediately.

Serves 4.

Other recipes you'll find in the cookbook include:

Asian-Inspired Beef and Snow Peas
Oven-Baked Beef Tacos
Bacon Ranch Chicken
Multicooker Butter Chicken
Sheet-Pan Pancakes
Grilled Honey Mustard Pork Chops
Lemon Garlic Shrimp Pasta
Egg Roll in a Bowl
Cheesy Garlic Bread
Grape Salad
Cinnamon Twists
Lemon Cheesecake Pudding Cookies

Recommend.

I was excited to read “30-Minute Meals with Six Sisters' Stuff” because I’m always on the lookout for fast, family-friendly recipes that don’t require a lot of prep but still manage to be nutritious and flavorful.

This cookbook delivers exactly what it promises: quick, straightforward meals using everyday ingredients. The recipes are approachable and clearly written, with no fancy techniques or hard-to-find ingredients. I especially appreciated that most meals rely on pantry staples and ingredients I usually have on hand.

The photos are beautiful, vibrant, and make the recipes look delicious. I appreciated the tips sprinkled throughout (like time-saving shortcuts) and the easy-to-follow instructions. I marked quite a few recipes to try (like the Twisted Pretzel Bites, Seven-Layer Dip Burritos, Sheet Pan Shrimp Fajitas, and Lemon Cheesecake Pudding Cookies), so I’ll likely purchase this cookbook once it’s released and consider gifting it to friends and family for the holidays.

That said, I did deduct half a star for two reasons: first, some of recipes required an air fryer, and it would have been nice to see alternative oven instructions for those of us without one. Second, while the recipes are solid, many didn’t feel especially new or unique. This isn’t a cookbook for bold flavors or gourmet experimentation - it’s more about getting a satisfying meal on the table, fast.

Overall, this cookbook is a solid choice for anyone who needs quick, reliable meals and doesn’t want to overthink dinner. It’s practical, approachable, and ideal for busy home cooks who want to feed their families without a lot of stress.

Thank you to NetGalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for the opportunity to read an advanced reader's copy of this book for an honest review.

I have used several of the Six Sisters cookbooks in the past and really enjoyed them. There’s always a wide variety of recipes that will satisfy even the pickiest palate.

I’m a working mom of four so I’m always looking for quick, tasty recipes. This book delivers many recipes that I look forward to trying. These are some of the ones from each section that caught my eye:

Bacon Wrapped Tater Tots
Bbq Sloppy Joes
Mexican Street Corn Chicken Tacos
White Cheddar Shells and Cheese
Hot Italian Trio Sandwiches
Parmesan Fish Sticks with Tartar Sauce
Tomato Macaroni Soup
Tortellini Pasta Salad
Lemon Blueberry Trifle

There were many, many more because there is a lot of variety within each section of the book. I love that because I get bored making the same things. I try to eat relatively healthy so some recipes I would need to swap some items out but they’re simple swaps so not a deterrent.

The other thing I loved about this book was there are pictures for every recipe. I hate getting a cookbook that only features pictures for a handful of recipes. I want to see a preview of what the recipe will look like. This was a fantastic addition to the book. You really can’t go wrong with one of the Six Sisters cookbooks.

Thank you to NetGalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for an Arc of this fantastic cookbook!

30-Minute Meals by Six Sisters Stuff is like a warm hug in cookbook form—packed with cozy, classic dinners that are cleverly trimmed down to get you in and out of the kitchen in record time. More time with your family, less time staring into a pot of boiling water? Yes, please.

One of my favorite features is how the recipes are sorted by protein. Got a lonely pound of ground turkey in the fridge and no clue what to do with it? Flip straight to the turkey section—no frantic page-flipping or index-surfing required.

While many of the recipes might feel familiar (you’ve likely seen versions before), the true magic is in the time-saving methods. The streamlined steps are a lifesaver, especially for new cooks or anyone setting up their first grown-up kitchen. And as mentioned before the section sorting helps shorten the time it takes to plan a meal.

Don’t miss the Pizza Skillet Pasta and the Stuffed Mushrooms—they’re so delicious. But really, every dish is flexible enough to suit your family’s tastes, picky eaters and all.

Big thanks to Shadow Mountain Publishing, NetGalley, and of course, the amazing Six Sisters for the chance to preview this ARC and fill my kitchen with both delicious food and the sweet smell of saved time.

Oh, how I love Six Sisters'!! I already own all of their other books, so I was so happy to receive this advanced copy! It does not disappoint! Their recipes are super-easy to follow, easy to find ingredients and feel like having a good friend over to help. Groundbreaking? No. But I don't think that's the point. I am a 58-year-old fairly experienced cook, and I can appreciate a book full of quick, easy to prepare foods for Hubby and me. The Tomato Macaroni Soup was a favorite that took me back to my childhood! Perfect for the Grandkids! Or not! Roasted Parmesan Sweet Potatoes are a great side idea, and I have actually been making the Pizza Skillet Pasta for a few years! This would also be a great book for a beginner, or just a busy person who wants a quick and delicious meal on the table! Love the pictures too! I plan on purchasing the paperback when it comes out, just because I still like my cookbooks to be actual books when I'm cooking! Well done, once again, Six Sisters!

This is not a cookbook that will set the world on fire BUT? I love Six Sisters' Stuff. It's been years since I first found their website and a few of their recipes are in the constantly-rotating section of my meal planning. Pretty simple, family-friendly recipes that always end up tasty? Yes, please. In 30-minutes, after work? Double yes, please.

Always clean layouts, good-and-tasty looking photography (thank you for always including a picture with every recipe!), and recipes my whole family will eat = another cookbook for my collection! Yes, I have it on pre-order, and you should too. My teens and man-child can (and will, come September 2nd :)) make any one of these recipes. None of them will require hunting for any hard-to-find ingredients beyond your basic grocery store. Easy enough for beginners and satisfying for all, the recipes can also easily be changed out to accommodate our family's allergies, which is, of course, also very appreciated. Thanks for another solid cookbook, Six Sisters!

My thanks to NetGalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for the opportunity to review this title in exchange for my honest opinion.

This cookbook is great for needing quick ideas, and fast meals when your family schedule is a little, or a lot, hectic! Lots of great classic type recipes that have some slight twists for speed and convenience. Some fun recipes that might bring some nostalgia to the older generations, and some yummy desserts or appetizers to try.

Most of the recipes are geared toward ease and convenience but are definitely ones you could easily pair some fresh veggies with, a salad, etc., to add some more nutritious benefits to your meal.

And, if you're like me and feel like you're fresh out of ideas for your dinnertime rotations, this will help add a little extra/new (but familiar) meals into your weeknights!

Enjoy!

This book is a keeper! The recipes are super simple but still delicious. We tried the Tuscan Pasta (pg.73) and paired it with their Perfect Air Fryer Chicken (pg.70), and wow… the family inhaled it. Like, plates cleared, no leftovers in sight. The cookbook is filled with great recipes like these, where most of the ingredients are basic items I already have in the fridge or pantry. It makes cooking dinner on busy nights so much less stressful with simple directions that are easy to follow, even when I’m running around like a maniac. The cookbook itself is a stunner too with full color recipe photos that so far have been realistic in what to expect when your meal is prepared. I highly recommend you add this one to your kitchen library!

This is a beautiful cookbook full of easy, basic quick family meals. The photographs are tantalizing and included with each recipe. The recipes are great for variety and created for even a novice cook. As with any cookbook, there will be some you may not enjoy and some you’ve always wanted to try. As I used numerous of these recipes I was pleasantly surprised on the easy and thorough descriptions, and my family devoured the meal with smiles on their faces. I know a lot of people use online recipes but this would be a great gift for a wedding, college student, or first time home /apartment cook. I think it would also be great for teenage / kids to learn how to cook. The only downside is, many of the recipes called for an Instant pot, which I don’t have. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Perfect for busy weeknights.
I have several of the Six Sisters cookbooks and just as you would expect, this one has simple delicious recipes with large colorful pictures accompanying them. The categories are: Appetizers, Beef Dishes, Chicken Dishes, Meatless Dishes, Pork Dishes, Seafood Dishes, Turkey Dishes, Side Dishes, and Desserts. Recipes that stood out to me include Creamy Beef and Tomato Pasta, Cashew Chicken Skillet Stir-Fry, Fresh Cajun Pasta, Szechuan Pork and Noodles, Baked Salmon, Egg Roll in a Bowl, Easy Parmesan Crescent Rolls, Breakfast Potatoes, S’mores Clusters, and even a recipe for Homemade Teriyaki Sauce.

This book is perfect for busy nights when you need a meal your family will eat but don’t have a lot of time to make dinner. Most of the recipes use ingredients you probably already have on hand, and the instructions are easy to follow. 5 stars! These recipes are the type of food you’d get at Applebees— tasty, fattening, easy to make, composed of a lot of processed ingredients and not particularly healthy for everyday eating but sure to please. There are photos of every recipe but no nutritional information. Many of them would definitely take more than 30 minutes. They are heavy on the use of dairy, wheat and meat so they are not well suited for those with allergies or special dietary needs. They also are generally very high in calories, carbs and unhealthy fats, so I’d be careful about cooking from it too regularly. I’m sure it will greatly please the average American eater though.

I’ve loved Six Sisters stuff since they were simply a blog, so I knew I needed to request a copy of this cookbook when I saw it. They’ve had great recipes for years!

I love the layout of this cookbook. Each recipe is easy to read and comes with a side by side, full page picture of the completed recipe. The recipes themselves are easily approachable for people of all cooking backgrounds. I do think a handful of recipes will take a touch longer than 30 minutes for more inexperienced cooks, though. A large majority of the recipes sound great, and I love that some of the recipes come with directions for cooking the food multiple ways whether it be in an air fryer, instapot, or stove/oven.

30-Minute Meals is a collection of 100+ recipes by Six Sisters’ Stuff. I love that the intent is ease and simplicity, from ingredients to prep and serve, and it delivers on this promise. You will find appetizers, main meals that utilize all types of protein, side dishes, and desserts. The pictures are stunning and capture the essence of why you want to try each of the recipes! Efficiencies recommended are air fryers, slow cookers, and some pre-packaged seasonings. The prep is simple and the results, based on the pictures, are delicious. I think this would make an excellent addition to any kitchen library for quick and simple inspiration.

I was happy to see that this cookbook had pictures of the finished food in addition to the recipes. It was organized well, the recipes looked tasty, and the directions seemed straight-forward. Most were quite easy and made with common ingredients. There were a few that had some short-cuts for cooks who want to save time. I felt like there were many dishes I would never make, however, and some I already have recipes for. It’s a good cookbook for those who want to add some variety to their cooking.

A great recipe book that I’ll be coming back to over and over again.
A lovely variety of recipes and I really liked that the ingredients weren’t overly complicated or hard to find in the shop.
Layout was great, easy to follow with clear lists and instructions.
Also an extra mark for each recipe having its own gorgeous picture.
I would have liked for there to be a little foreword before we dove into the recipes but all in all a really great and useful book!

Thanks to Netgalley for this ARC

Thank you NetGalley for this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Simple, fun recipes that fit on a single page with the corresponding picture on the opposite page, satisfying just how I like recipe books to be. The way everything in the book is laid out was inviting and nothing seems too daunting. Recipes and pictures were appetising, found myself eager to try them.
I like that it was divided by beef dishes, chicken dishes, meatless dishes, pork dishes, seafood dishes, turkey dishes, sides and of course, desserts. All in all, nice!

This cookbook will likely interest people who don't have a lot of time for cooking and keep ready made stuff around to use as shortcuts. There are a lot of recipes that sound good but also a lot of them may not work for families with dietary restrictions. In my family we have people who eat dairy free, gluten free as well as low fat diets. I skimmed through ingredient lists looking for no-nos for my family and there were a lot. Some of them I'd be able to adapt though.

I liked that all the recipes had photos of the dishes. That makes it more enticing to try.

This cookbook was exactly what you want from a 30 minute meals guide. Quick recipes with easy to find ingredients. Great new ideas that I don't cook regularly, but not anything that is out of the realm of what our family would eat. The visuals are stunning and make me want to cook them even more. Overall a great cookbook that I will definitely be trying recipes from!
Note: Thanks to the publisher for an ARC of this book so that I could provide an honest review.
