2 stars = okay

There’s nothing objectionable here, but I just can’t give this any more than an okay rating because the teaching portions are just too skeletal. There’s way too much white space on these pages. Perhaps it’s my fault for mistaking a “study” for a commentary.

I would give this one a 3.75 stars. It was good but I was disappointed in how fast it flew through Matthew and we didn’t get to really study or spend much time on various aspects of Matthew. 12 weeks seemed too short of time for all the stuff jam packed in Matthew. What we did get to unpack was good, but I wished it was more. Also, these studies have a habit of asking 12 questions rolled into one and it’s really hard to answer all those in one answer.

I've done two studies in this series and both have done a tremendous job of making connections to the Old testament and asking thought-provoking questions. I've read Matthew a number of times, but I still learned a lot going through this booklet. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a deeper understanding of the Gospel.

This is another great addition to Crossway's "Knowing the Bible" series.
