A strong wind blew in dark ominous clouds over the Dig at Druids Grove. The smell of wet dirt was pungent in the summer air. The Professor in charge of the excavation of an old Roman ville was worried that the rain would fill the excavated parts so she shouted to the students to grab hold of the tarps to cover the dig. As Stacey was running with her end of the tarp the ground collapsed beneath her feet an she fell into a void or vortex and passed out. As she regained consciousness, she sat up and looked around. She saw she was in a meadow and behind her stood an old Viking ruin stone. Not being one to panic easily she dusted herself off and started walking toward a stand of trees. About half way through the trees she heard a familiar sound, the sound of horses whinnying. As Stacey cleared the trees she saw a road and ran to it and looked each way. To her amazement, she saw a group of riders coming toward her and as they came closer see could see they were dressed in medieval garb.
I lied. I did not read this book. I forced myself to get through 25 pages. Here's the first sentence: "The early afternoon, had brought in dark clouds over the dig at Druid's Grove." It got worse from there. There are commas where they don't belong, there are no commas where there should be and there are a lot more punctuation and grammar mistakes. Also, the style of writing is too adolescent for me. I paid 99 cents for it but it was not worth it. I guess I didn't read the other reviews. I hope someone reads this and passes on this book.
I found this book such a surprise. If I had any criticism it would be that there are too many characters. The writer has a rather naive style but it was the idea that kept me persevere ing. I will also reread the next one.
Quite a different time travel story. It goes thru an entire lifetime in the past & leaves you hanging @ the end as if she had been in a coma for 3 days! Love the premise of going into the past & helping to make lives better.
This time-travel romance really has a superb plot/storyline. However, the writing itself was rather less than impressive throughout much of the story. It was very amateur sounding, especially in its style of narration. This really decreased its enjoyment and detracted the reader's attention. Not sure, at this point, whether I will continue on and read the second installment of the series?
So sorry to have to write a really critical review but I couldn't make it past the first few pages it was so poorly scripted. I could barely determine who was being referred to in what I did read. Plus the vocabulary was way too simple for even a YA book let alone something didn't specify a children's book.
This is my first book by this author. I was looking for something different to read and I was impressed with this. I liked how the shift to different times was transitioned so that you felt it fit the story. I felt like I was back in time with Stacey. The pieces of the story flowed really well.
This book was a very well written and throughout storyline. Unable to stop reading I found myself hanging on each chapter. The characters were very interesting and developed with each having their own stories. This is one of the best stories I have read in a while. I loved reading this story and highly recommend this book. Well done Rikki Dyson.
I so much enjoyed reading his Story .I recommend it to all you tiime travel romance readers . The history is great and the Characters are to fall in love with. I loved this Story very much.
I really wanted to like this book. But I feel it was rushed and not thought out well. The spelling errors and editing were awful and made it hard to read at times.
This was a great read. It had you wondering was what w as what waiting for the shoe to drop. Yet it didn't then when you thought ok here's where t h e story is then it's not. Then the shoe does drop wow have to get next in line of this trilogy.
