Περί έρωτος & άλλων αναρχικών συμπτωμάτων
Πώς θα σου φαινόταν αν υπήρχε ένα χάπι που κατέστειλε την λίμπιντο;
Τι θα έλεγες αν σε υποχρέωναν να το πάρεις;
Τι θα έκανες;
Στο κοντινό μέλλον, ο κόσμος μας μοιάζει με τον σημερινό -μόνο που είναι λίγο πιο ζοφερός, λίγο πιο καταπιεσμένος και με λίγο περισσότερο... συνωστισμό.
Η Ίζυ ονειρεύεται να ολοκληρώσει τις σπουδές της, να βρει μια καλή δουλειά και να έχει μια άνετη, ελεγχόμενη ζωή. Αυτό είναι και το λογικό.
Ο Τζόναθαν, ωστόσο, συνεχίζει να μπαίνει στο δρόμο της. Και είναι ενοχλητικός, και απαιτητικός, και αλαζονικός. Δεν παύει να εμφανίζεται συνέχεια μπροστά της, εγείροντας ερωτήματα. Όσο αυτή τσατίζεται, τόσο αυτός πεισμώνει.
Η ιστορία αυτή αφορά μια παράξενη αγάπη σε έναν κόσμο που δεν ενθαρρύνει τις σχέσεις. Όχι μόνο αυτό, αλλά εξαπολύει όλη του την οργή ενάντια στον έρωτα και το σεξ. Αυτή είναι επίσης μια ιστορία για ένα χάπι, τη "Θεραπεία Ζόλερ", που καταστέλλει την έλξη και τη σεξουαλικότητα, κηρύσσοντας τον πόλεμο ενάντια στη λίμπιντο. Και αυτό το χάπι... είναι υποχρεωτικό.
Αυτό το τελευταίο κομμάτι κανονικά δεν θα έπρεπε να βγάζει και πολύ νόημα.
Τέλος, αυτή είναι μια ιστορία που εμπεριέχει φάλαινες δολοφόνους, γυμνιστές, ασεξουαλικές γάτες, μονόκερους και ένα σωρό άλλα άσχετα πράγματα.

Exciting, fast-paced book that will delight most readers.
Izzy is growing up, learning what life can be like. She is emotional, quiet, sometimes confused. Worst of all, there is the pill to suppress all sex drive.
I really enjoyed the way this book is written. The story is sometimes narrated, sometimes not. It is a look at how wrong things can go, yet it is a look at how great life can be. It is not an easy to describe book, nor was it written for all audiences. Some readers will intensely dislike the way this book is written, yet others will laugh themselves to tears. This book will make the reader think about the world today.
Panos Tserolas writes to spread hope for a better world for all humans. He would like all of us to think about a future where each person has many choices. A future where you are not forced to take anything against your will.
I recommend this book to those that are looking for something different to read. It is highly entertaining sometimes, hilarious sometimes, serious sometimes. For those that like science fiction, this is a great book! I am looking forward to more great books from this Greek author.

The book is easy, moves quickly and the narrative is floating. Sometimes is stiff and sometimes is completely loose, like in psychography or surrealism. I have read it in both languages -greek and english- and I have to say that the english text is really good! Well done to the translator.
The main plot is about a girl (Izzy) who can be seen as a normal post-teenage girl and her adventures in a dystopic environment where some things are not normal at all... There is no need to say that this dystopic environment is today's world in crisis.
So what the author does? He is trying to spread the need of better days to come, drawing his heroes in a parallel universe where love and beauty will eventually save the day. He challenges the reader to leave his own book down and open the window to a new paradigm of life.
No matter what is a great story with a great humor in the background, just like the author's great idol, Tom Robbins. It is more than clear that he is inspired by him but eventually he creates something of his own.
Final conclusion: A must read! It is perfect for summer vacation company!

What attracted me to buy this book were the three initial questions in the book blurb. And I must admit that I was perplexed by the idea that making love would ever be controlled. Nevertheless, the author has an extraordinary way to make you have fun even in the darkest of times, his characters are captivating and his humor is unique.
So we’re somewhere in the US in the near future and the earth has a major problem; it’s overpopulated. But there is this pill that suppresses the libido. And that’s when Izzy meets Jonathan and love takes a whole new meaning in their life, besides sex. When Izzy has to face the dilemma if she is going to take the pill or not, the real struggle begins.
Loved both main characters’ point of view, loved the fact that they made me think about every possible aspect of life. The only thing I would object to is the size of the novel. It could be shorter but I enjoyed every single word.

I can’t wait for Tserolas’ next book. This one was a great debut with strong plotline and even stronger characters. I disagree a bit with the fact that he has given the Narration an individual voice, but it surely is his trademark. I really get into a novel where sarcasm is appreciated. Izzy was an everyday girl, same thing was Jonathan. I really remembered my days in college and that feeling when you’re younger and you hope you can change the world. I even thought, what would I do if I had to take the Zoller’s Treatment? I REALLY REALLY loved the part about the Orca-White Shark battle and I think it is one of my favorite parts in a book ever.

Στο κοντινό μέλλον η γη έχει πρόβλημα υπερπληθυσμού κι έτσι βρίσκεται η θεραπεία Ζόλερ. Ένα χάπι που καταστέλλει τη λίμπιντο. Η Ίζυ Κόλλινς είναι φοιτήτρια, ζει την αναμπουμπούλα της εποχής της και γνωρίζει τον Τζόναθαν Αρτζέντο, ακτιβιστή κατά της θεραπείας. Θα ερωτευτούν σε έναν κόσμο που δεν επιτρέπει τον έρωτα και δεν τον γιορτάζει. Όταν το χάπι θα γίνει υποχρεωτικό, θα πρέπει οι δυο τους να κάνουν μία επιλογή.
Το χιούμορ και η γραφή του Πάνου Τσερόλα είναι αυτά που σε κερδίζουν ήδη από την πρώτη πρόταση. Δεν μπορείς να πάρεις το βλέμμα σου από το βιβλίο καθώς η ανάγνωσή του είναι απολαυστική. Το κείμενο όμως δεν είναι καλό μόνο για το ύφος και την προσωπικότητα που προβάλλει αλλά και για τους προβληματισμούς που θέτει όπως και τα συναισθήματα που σου γεννά. Ταυτίζεσαι με την Ίζυ ή τον Τζόναθαν, ζεις την ιστορία τους, τη βιώνεις μαζί τους. Στο τέλος, έχεις γίνει ένα με αυτήν.
