Open Skies #2

Open Arms

Rate this book
It’s been one month since Tamara Jenkins was attacked in an alley in New York. She’s at Open Skies Ranch with her best friend Julie Everett, in an attempt to regroup and recover. But it’s not going well, to say the least: Tammy barely eats or sleeps, and all of the sass and spark has faded from her violet eyes.

To everyone’s surprise, Rob Cathay is the only person who can get through to her. Muscular, handsome and kind, Rob is fighting a mighty attraction to Tammy. Despite his raging desire to rip off her clothes and take her to his bed, anything that he wants must come second to what she needs.

Tammy knows that she must recover the memory of her attack before someone else gets hurt. But that means facing down her demons, and making peace with something primal and dark that refuses to leave her be. Can Rob help Tammy move past her trauma and take comfort in his arms? And can she teach him to embrace his passionate, wild side?

Although ‘Open Arms’ starts right where ‘Open Skies’ ended, can be read as a stand-alone book.

3.5 RATING- I skipped over book one in this series because some of my GR friends posted it wasn't their favorite. I'll likely go back and read it at some point but decided to dive into the second book instead. Overall, I liked it, but not as much as the books from the author's Unseen Enemy series. The writing was just as good, same damsel in distress plot line I enjoy...it just was missing something. Maybe the alpha male? I'm not sure. Still, an overall good read. I really do like this author and plan to continue with this series.

Tammy and Rob.

After reading 'Open Skies' I decided I'd continue on and read Tammy's book, mainly if I'm being honest because it was free, they're all free Open Skies, Open Arms, Open Eyes and Open Heart which is amazing, so I thought I'd take advantage.
While this book continues on from 'Open Skies' all the information you need is at the beginning so this is also stand alone book.
Julie's best, well only friend really has been attacked and badly beaten, Tammy's been left frightened and a shadow of the woman she used to be, she can't move on and has isolated herself in a cabin at Open Skies Ranch. Rob has seen this before and he pushes his attraction to her aside to help her through this ordeal and with Robs help Tammy starts to come back to life but even though she's looking better, eating and sleeping she's still blocking the memory of exactly what happened that night and she knows she has to face her own demons.
This is an relatively quick easy read and while I appreciate its free It is for me a 3 star read.

I loved Tammy in Open Skies so was keen to read her story. She suffered a horrific attack where she was badly beaten, suffered memory loss from the attack and was left a shadow of her former self. This book picks up right where Open Skies ended so we're straight into the story. I love this in a series, no messing about with back story.

And yes, MJ gives us another of her caring, protective, considerate alpha males again in Rob. He was just perfect for Tammy, giving her space but gently pushing at the same time. I loved seeing how she healed and slowly found the fun-loving, gregarious, confident woman she was with his help.

Excellent book. Enough twists to keep me interested. The subplots were well done.characters were well developed worth following. Really enjoy this author. I've read a good number of Ms James' books and have enjoyed them. Hope to read more.

I think my issue with this series is that the stories are too integrated, It's impossible to read any of these as a standalone and seek appropriate closure on a storyline.

This starts a week or so after Tammy is beaten. Julie and Jake take her back with them to Open Skies for her to recover and she holes herself up in one of the cabins, becoming a recluse, suffering from insomnia and nightmares when she does sleep. She's not eating and people are worried.

We then start to learn more about Captain America Rob who volunteers to start to bring Tammy around. He's stong and gentle and handsome and yes, Chris Evans, was my go-to guy. There's also this interesting mystical substory involving a native American and a wolf. It's kinda neat and not too over the top.

I felt like I just keep repeating myself when I’ve finished an MJ book, but everyone so far I have really enjoyed and loved all the H and h’s. This one was certainly no different, yet again a great read.
I love all her hero’s they are alpha’s without all the knuckle dragging and beating of chests! Rob was gentle at first with Tammy which was exactly what she needed. He had a sweet, caring gentlemanly side but was still an alpha, I really liked Rob.
I liked Tammy in Open Skies and was pleased to read her story, she went through hell but came back fighting with Rob’s help and support.

This was good, you had Tammy who was recovering at open skies from a horrific incident in New York, you have Rob, blond haired, blue eyed and all round good guy who takes a protective role over Tammy...throw in a mystical wolf, bit of Native American history and loads of will they, won't they it all adds up to a great little read. And let me tell you when Tammy and Rob eventually get together...aye chihuahua!! Some of the scenes! Rob you dark horse you!!...enjoyable read. I haven't even the read the next synopsis for book 3 but I'm going to dive straight in..who will it be about?

FL is the best friend from the first book in the series. She is a bit of a free spirit, but gets attacked and is badly shaken up. She comes to the resort to try and work through the traumatic experience with the support of her friend. She meets one of the workers of the resort who has a past as well, and helps her work through the trauma. You meet both of these main characters in the first book, but you can read this book without reading the first. Some characters are built upon from the first book. Not as good as the first but a good read.

An excellent follow up to Open Skies. While this story could stand on its own if a little more clarification was made, as it reads right now I would be confused.

I enjoyed the overall story. The only thing I marked it down for was the times a scene started mid make out session. I could have gotten the point with a few well phrased remarks or discription.

I recommend this story to 14+ and mature due to sexual situations.

Love Rob!

While the books in this serious are fairly short, I enjoy the great characters and the strong emotions. Tammy tugged at my heart, and I loved Rob from book one. He was so patient and careful with Tammy while he helped her recover. Their chemistry was also a great slow burn. I am hooked into this series for sure.

I'd say this was 3.5 stars. I enjoyed the story and the main characters, but I just felt like something was missing. I did like catching up with Jake and Julie, and I hope that we continue to see their story progress.
