An easy read. Full of descriptive passages. The pace of the book rises and falls like waves on a beach, moving you to the conclusion.

A friend really adores this author's poetry, but I'm more a fantasy girl, so I thought I'd give one of his fantasy novels a try. I'm glad I did!

I really loved Foster's way with words. If you like 'Eragon', 'Deltora Quest' or 'Ranger's Apprentice', then you'll really like his style. It's action packed, filled with AMAZING imagery and spans across really cool locations that I hadn't heard of before in the fantasy books I've read. I guess it's kind of like 'The Wizard of Earthsea' but more modern and with a more recognisable villain.

Highly recommended. Keep an eye out, I'll be reading 'Realm of Silence' soon and will let you know how it compares.
