This is a super-short book, but contains lots of helpful wisdom from a wise and helpful Christian counselor. It is almost like an outline. Fortunately it is very easy to read through, so that makes it more helpful especially for people who don't usually want to sit down for days reading a thicker book.
What I liked about this book: Very short paragraphs. A perfect scripture at the end of each section. Questions and answers. Lists of things to watch for or understand. A prayer at the end, with memorization verses.
If you're still in pain over some rejection in the past, this is a good book to help get you through it. It makes you look at the situation from multiple angles and offers some Biblical solutions.
Clear, thorough, biblical guidance for those fighting rejection is what you'll find in this book. It's the second one I've read from this collection by June Hunt and I'm seriously impressed. I've found this one helpful in recognizing a few things for what they are in my life, as well as gaining some new tools to keep fighting the good fight of faith. Whether you're a Christian counselor looking for new material to add to your tool box, or a person looking for biblical based help to fight your way through the struggles we face in life, I think one of June Hunt's 'Hope for the Heart' collection could be helpful for you.
The author follows the life of Joseph and the numerous times he was rejected by friends and family. He didn't succumb to bitterness, but continued to work wholeheartedly. Plenty of scripture throughout.
In desiring to love and speak truth well into the lives of those hurting, I found this a helpful read. She speaks well to the hurt of rejection as well as the solution.
This book is practical and resourceful for anyone who's experienced rejection or is looking for practical tools to counsel hurting people. At the end of the book there are scripture verses to memorize that will strengthen your heart and help you to overcome the fear and spirit of rejection.
