From best selling author Mackenzy Fox comes the highly anticipated MC spin-off series from the Bracken Ridge
NOLA Rebels MC - (New Orleans Series Book 13)
Blurb to follow!
The men of the NOLA Rebels MC will do anything for their club. They’re a brotherhood, a club who stands mighty, and above all else, they take care of business, New Orleans style.
The bikers may rule this city, but the women of the club have their hearts, and the men will do anything to protect what’s theirs.
It is part of a series, but can be read stand-alone with a HEA. This book is recommended for mature readers
Mackenzy Fox is an author of M.C. badass and contemporary enemies to lovers themed romance novels. When she’s not writing she loves vegan cooking, walking her beloved pooch’s, reading books and is an expert on online shopping. She’s slightly obsessed with drinking tea, testing bubbly Moscato, watching home decorating shows and has a black belt in origami. She strives to live a quiet and introverted life in Western Australia’s North West with her hubby, twin sister and her dogs.
Awwww this series is my sweet addiction! Every single man in this biker club is amazing. They are all OBSESSED with their woman, protective, sexy, completely ok with display of affection, they don’t care who’s seen they literally are allover them. They SHOW their love and desire no matter who’s around. They are all also very jealous and unapologetic “pu?!;y whipped “ they gladly allow their woman to walk them like dogs. They are those big bad tattooed bikers, fighters, some are very broody and grumpy, some are funny and well mannered but none of them cares about showing their love and affection to the world AND I FUCKING LOVE IT ! Ryder is no different, even though him and Crystal have a slightly different story because they were friends since childhood, she was always smitten with him and at 16 years old she was in love with him but he is 2 years older and a great guy so he wasn’t about to take advantage of his best friend little sister, so he rejects her and she was DEVASTATED. He leaves town and they only see each other again 5 years later by coincidence and now she’s 21 years old. 🔥🔥🔥 But again he was a coward and they only had one night and he never contacted her again even though he does love her, but he thinks he is not good enough for her so he doesn’t fight for her. And again 1 year passes ….. This books is past and present, because in the present they are married with a 5 years old son. The only thing I didn’t like is that the book is described as “marriage in turmoil” and I didn’t see the turmoil, I hear about, very lightly from them both, but we see nothing of the difficulties. And it jumps right through them fixing in a very easy way, and that’s definitely not how it is in marriages and I wished to see their struggles and disagreements. But alas here we are….. that part bothered me, but still Crystal is a bad bitch and I loved her and Ryder is a sweetheart, hard working and I also loved him. Their kid is adorable and I OBVIOUSLY am obsessed with this club and it’s members. I love every single one of them and Cash is the BEST MC President to ever exist in fiction, argue with the wall ✋🏻 you need anything and HE IS THERE taking charge and putting people in their place. I love him. Can’t wait to read about Pipes and Casey. But the book I am realllyyyyyyyyyy waiting for is Stella !
Mackenzy has created a long list of characters that have left me speechless, in awe & my heart melting. But she truly outdid herself w/Ryder & Crystal’s story. Crystal’s relationship w/Jimmy resonated w/me so much. When you’re in an abusive relationship you don’t always see the red flags until you’re in too deep. You want to believe things will change & the person loves you. I loved this story so much. Especially the deep bond between Ryder & Crystal. Their relationship went through a lot in the beginning & I’m so glad Mackenzy shared those parts. I loved getting pieces of their past & everything that led up to the present. Ryder was such a good guy, truly the best. He was a hands on dad, a loyal & faithful husband & friend. It was the best thing seeing their bond grow & strengthen throughout the book. Their story left me in happy tears, that epilogue was perfect & I was so happy for the good news Crystal had. They truly deserved it. I have wanted & waited for Ryder & Crystal for so long & Mackenzy did not disappoint! This book was everything I expected & more. And after reading the little snippet of what’s to come in Pipe’s story I’m really excited. Stella had me laughing when her & Pipes were talking & she started to reference sex & cucumber!!
but just when I think I couldn’t fall anymore in love with these NOLA Rebels…
Author Mackenzy Fox is like but wait here’s another cinnamon roll MMC that will do whatever it takes for his woman and MC….
And I am totally here for it!
My thoughts: -Ryder and Crystal’s story is so tragic and heartbreaking….but it’s also so sweet and beautiful. -Crystal the FMC, is such a feisty force to be reckoned with..her story will have you in all your feels Ryder the MMC, is of course a walking god in a MC cut and is a total cinnamon roll for his woman…he’s possessive and OTT in the best of ways. -Their love story will break your heart… and then slowly mend it back together… -All while setting your whole body on fire cause let me tell you what…. These two are HOT… like make the hinges off the door HOT! -There’s suspense… that will have you on the edge of your seat! -This MC series is absolutely incredible and is a must read!
Mackenzy Fox what have you done to me 🫣. This is my first time read from this author and I really have to admit why the hell I didn’t started reading her books before.
This book have everything i usually look into. Gosh Ryder and Crystal what they were I mean wowie 🤩. At first I thought to myself that since I didn’t read any other books in this series I won’t understand anything but boy m I wrong ? Yes. Do I regret ? Definitely not. I couldn’t put it down with finishing it. I was on edge and was like what’s gonna happen to next page. I’ve enjoyed myself reading this book. And m looking forward to next ones.
Meantime I’ll read all her books and previous books of this series.
Oh my God!! This is the type of book where you will get new twists at every turn, and with 100 pages left, you are wondering which shoe is going to drop since everything is happy now. But everything can’t be happy with so many pages left, and I was like, "What is coming? How am I going to feel about it?" I was scared.
And when that shoe dropped, everything was silent. I love, and I mean it, Mackenzy does have a way with her stories, and she will engage the readers perfectly by mashing new theories or loving the characters so much that you can’t have enough of them. The plot is superb. The characters are lovable. The Nola rebels are perfect. They will do anything for their women, and they all will have your back no matter what.
Usually I don't love the childhood friends to lovers and/or second chance romance tropes, but Ryder and Crystal (not a stripper) were delightful.
The NOLA Rebels MC series is like motorcycle romance lite; like, dark(ish), a very pale grey. There is dark themes but the actual MC members are pretty chill and not total felons. Well at least the 3 outta 13 books I have completed from this series are like that.
I am literally begging someone to ask Mackenzy Fox to stop having her MMC mention using two condoms at a time when they were past females. That is unsafe. After reading that, I am always thinking so they have an STI and children he doesn't know about.
I am excited to read about Pipes and Casey in July!
This is another installment of the NOLA Rebels MC and now we have Ryder and Crystal’s story. Ms. Fox hooked me right from the get go with this storyline. I love dark, steamy books that take me on a wild ride through intense emotions. Just how far will Ryder go to protect Crystal? Their love is fierce and they are put to the test. This was another great read in this series and I can’t wait for more to come.
Brilliantly written, an awesome read. I absolutely loved Ryder and Crystal’s story ❤️❤️❤️ So many years apart but once together they were like fire 🔥 soulmates. They had some battles and hurdles to get over but they came out victors. Cannot wait for Pipe and Casey’s story, they will be like an inferno 🔥🔥🔥 A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤
We are back with the NOLA Rebels MC and we are FINALLY getting Ryder and Crystals story. This is the 13th book in the series, you can absolutely read it as a stand-alone but the series is amazing and Mackenzy Fox has created such an intriguing and suspenseful world that you will be itching to read about all the men after one book 😉
I think this might be my favourite book in the series. Ryder is so different from the others and in just loved seeing how both he and Crystal evolved and grew in their friendship and eventually relationship. It’s never been an easy road for them and we really get a better understanding of that with this book.
Crystal has been in love with Ryder since she could remember. Her brothers best friend…older…baby face with a body to die for…but Ryder knows she’s off limits. And when she confesses her feelings to him at 16 and him 18, he needs her to understand that it’s never going to happen…
Fast forward to Crystals 21st birthday…she’s in college…out celebrating with her girlfriends when she runs into Ryder. She’s older now…and the feelings are still there…this time she’s making it clear that she wants HIM and only HIM. One night of passion makes things a lot more complicated…neither can deny the feelings they have for each other…but Ryder disappears. He knows that he doesn’t want to bring Crystal deeper into the chaos of the MC…she has a bright future and he wants her to live it.
Crystal is heartbroken and moves on. Well, tries to. No one compares to Ryder and no one ever will…but she’s convinced that their moment has passed and gets into a relationship that completely changes the path of her life. It’s abusive and completely destroys her. When Crystal is in trouble…real trouble…Ryder can’t stay away. He’s back and he’s ready to claim the girl who has always been his…consequences be damned.
They secretly get married. But nothing is easy….the go through so much. Crystal isn’t the same after being in an abusive relationship for so long. Ryder is trying his best to be there for her and help her in anyway she needs. It’s a learning curve for them both…but it was really great to see them growing together. I loved seeing Ryder take on the role of husband and father…and I loved how Crystal was able to find her way back to herself…they needed each other in a way that they couldn’t fully understand or explain. But even with all the chaos and danger surrounding them, they found comfort and safety in each other.
Now…it wouldn’t be a Mackenzy Fox book without heaps of suspense or unknowns that keep you biting your nails on the edge of your seat…and that’s no different with Ryder. We see the brutal and dark side of Ryder…the side that defines him as the VP of the club. He’s doing what he needs to do to keep his family and club safe…even if that means doing some unforgivable things. 💜
Thank you so much to Mackenzy Fox and Literally Yours PR for the opportunity to ARC read yet another book in this incredible series 💜

Ryder by Mackenzy Fox, the thirteenth instalment in the NOLA Rebels MC series, is a fiercely emotional and pulse-pounding MC romance that delves deep into themes of forbidden love, loyalty, and survival. Set in the sultry and dangerous world of New Orleans’ motorcycle club underworld, the story centres on Ryder, the club’s Vice President, and Crystal, his best mate’s sister, whose connection defies family feuds and long-standing rivalries.
From the opening pages, the tension is palpable. Ryder and Crystal’s bond is magnetic—years of unspoken attraction finally erupt into a relationship that’s both tender and volatile. What begins as a union born of defiance becomes a fierce, all-consuming love that both empowers and endangers them. The past looms large over their marriage, with secrets and sins refusing to stay buried. When threats escalate and the MC is dragged into a deadly game, Ryder must embrace the brutal side of his nature to protect what he holds dearest.
Mackenzy Fox crafts the narrative with raw, clipped prose that perfectly suits the gritty tone of the story. The alternating POVs between Ryder and Crystal offer a dual-layered emotional perspective, immersing the reader in both their inner demons and unwavering devotion. The character development is strong—Ryder’s complexity as both protector and predator is compelling, while Crystal’s blend of vulnerability and steel makes her a standout heroine in her own right.
The book doesn’t shy away from violence, criminal undertones, or emotional trauma, all of which are intrinsic to the world these characters inhabit. That said, beneath the grit is a deeply heartfelt journey of love and loyalty. Their connection is not just romantic but forged through shared pain, resilience, and fierce defiance of outside forces.
While this book can be read as a standalone, existing fans of the NOLA Rebels MC or its predecessor Bracken Ridge Rebels will appreciate the deeper layers and returning characters. For newcomers, the storyline holds its own with enough backstory to feel complete, though some context may feel richer if the series is read in order.
Overall, Ryder is a dark, steamy, and gripping addition to the MC romance genre, offering just the right mix of emotional weight, danger, and passion. It’s a high-stakes love story about fighting for your chosen family and protecting what’s yours—at any cost. For readers who enjoy intense characters, fast-paced conflict, and unshakeable loyalty, this book is an absolute must.
Haven’t read one from this series in a while. Unfortunately, this one was disappointing as well. It’s primarily a retrospective look at Crystal and Ryder’s story. Ryder was a wuss and didn’t man up until Crystal was in trouble with another guy. Not my kind of hero. Crystal was supposed to be a spoiled brat but likable. She came off as a spirited doormat- so, basically her character made little sense. H turns down her advances because she’s too young (16) and his friend’s little sister. She professes her love and support for him and he goes off and lives his life. She eventually goes off to college and never finds someone that she wants to give her virginity to because none of them are Ryder. Then 5 years later they happen to bump into each other at a club in New Orleans on her 21st bday. He leaves the club while she’s dancing with her friends, even though she asks him to wait for her. She tracks him down at his clubhouse, doesn’t tell him she’s a virgin so he’s stunned when he finds out and they proceed to have sex ALL night. Okaaaay. He drops her off at her hotel they say goodbye, he has second thoughts about letting her go, but in the end doesn’t say anything.
Long story short, she ends up with a guy who makes her feel special and loved but he’s no Ryder. 🙄 And of course this new guy ends up being an abusive asshole and Ryder steps in. Not really romantic and why can’t the h every find a good guy while the H is screwing every woman in sight?! So very frustrating.
This is Ryder after Crystal makes a pass at him when she’s 16 and he’s 18-
“I can’t deny it. I’ve been with a ton of girls, but they weren't my best friend's little sister. Me and Torin, hang out at the mall, or at parties where we meet girls. It isn’t like I’m forcing chicks to get with me. Apparently I have a baby face, and they like my dick. I’m blessed, but this blessing is staying right in my pants where she’s concerned. “
Then this is Ryder when they meet again when she’s 21-
“The brother’s hate it because I never grew out of this baby face, apparently, and women do seem to flock to me. I’ve had more than one beating over the years because I stole some chick without realizing she wasn’t mine to steal. Not exactly my fault. “
So yeah, he’s not even thinking about her while she can’t get over the thought of him.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I wasn’t sure if we would get Ryder and Crystals story, because they are mentioned so much in the previous books, and it was so beautiful and heart breaking all in one.
Crystal is the sister of Ryders best friend. He is from the wrong aide of the tracks, but that doesn’t matter to crystal. When she tries to make a move on him at 16 he turns her down and she is heart broken. Years later they are reunited at a bar on her 21st birthday, but after he leaves her she tracks him down and they have a night they will never forget. 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 When Crystal leaves the next day, Ryder is torn between telling her to stay and letting her leave… because he doesn’t ask her to stay, she finds herself getting involved with another man who happens to be a member of a rival MC from Ryder. Jimmy is no good, but before Ruder can help Crystal, things take a horrible turn.
This story is broken up into 2 parts. Mackenzy does a beautiful job explaining the history of this characters, which helps to fill in holes from the precious books, and part 2 catches us up to a current timeline with the books. Their story is BEAUTIFUL. Mackenzy DEFINITELY did them justice. ❤️❤️❤️
The spice is TOP NOTCH! (You get a lot at the beginning… there is a lull… but in part 2 it steams right back up!) 🥵🥵🥵
Why I can’t 5 star this book: (possible spoilers)
I found myself skimming… a lot… I understand Ryders upbringing was horrible, but it seems to drag…especially when dealing with his mother in part 2. I also kept waiting for the other shoe to drop and when it did, I just felt like it was too late? We didn’t get enough of their HEA. I also hated that so much time was spent on the build up of the next book…. Also, I don’t feel like there is a teue trigger warning about Crystals situation in Part 1… it was AWFUL what happened to her. She is such a STRONG character. And although Ryder is her rock, his insecurities seemed to take over too much? The constant reassurance from Crystal was beautiful but seemed to never end. I know this might sound harsh but this story didn’t feel like the others, but maybe that was what Mackenzy was going for.
This series just gets better and better. I love all the characters. Mackenzy brings to life all types of relationships throughout the series, and I'm here for it all.
Ryder is book 13 of the NOLA Rebels MC (New Orleans Series). This one is about married couple Ryder and Crystal. They have been friends since childhood. He is her brother's best friend and their former neighbor. When Ryder's father steals from several people and disappears, he and his family had to move out of their home, and Crystal's parents held a grudge against him. Now Ryder's family and Crystal's family are pretty much enemies.
Crystal and her brother never saw Ryder as the enemy and stayed friends. Crystal has always wanted Ryder, but he respected her too much to try anything while she was young. Years passed, and Ryder is now part of the MC. They ran into each other during her 21st birthday. They finally gave into each other for one night. He never felt worthy of her due to what his father did and not being able to provide the rich lifestyle her parents raised her in. Crystal is down to earth and is not stuck up. She loves and wants Ryder. They never confess to each other their feelings.
Some time pass, and Ryder finds out Crystal moved to New Orleans with her abusive boyfriend. Ryder confesses his feelings and saves her from a life-threatening situation. He is their for her through the aftermass, and they finally get married. Their marriage has its up and down, and they have to find their way back to each other. The past comes knocking on the door, threatening their little family.
I love the way these two characters and their marrige were written. The reality is that marriage isn't perfect, and sometimes it may take a big event to find one another again. Mackenzy, thank you for this one! You never disappoint! This read is full of emotions, a rocky marriage, threats, danger, a protective and sexy MMC, and a fiery FMC. It will have you gripping each page, needing to know what happens next ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+++. Mackenzy never shy away from a spicy scene 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶. Each scene will have you blushing and melting!
I don't want to admit it, but Ryder was a little disappointing. Not Ryder himself, he is a great VP for the NOLA Rebels and a great character overall. His wife Crystal also fits into his world and is a perfect partner. The pair have a story that is complicated from the beginning and that too was enjoyable. For me, it was just a little disjointed and just struggled at times to really drag me in.
Overall, Ryder and Crystal are a great couple, and they have a story that was worth telling, but it was just lost within the pages.
Ryder and Crystal have been together from the beginning of the series, so their story goes back a few years to find out where they all started. Ryder and Crystal come from different worlds. They used to be neighbours but after Ryder's father betrays people in their town his family are left behind and they are suffering the consequences from his actions. Crystal and her brother have stayed close friends with Ryder throughout, but Crystal's crush has grown stronger as she's grown and while Ryder has noticed her growing up, he wouldn't betray his friend.
That is the basis of the connection they build upon, childhood friends. This turns into a one night stand many years later and then another couple of years of distance before Crystal ends up living in New Orleans. This is where they reconnect and while Ryder is planning to make up for the mistake of letting Crystal go, she's got a secret that she's sure is going to cause drama. When Ryder finds out what she's hiding he plans to make sure no one ever hurts her again.
The many ups and down they face builds them a strong foundation but even when you think they've made it through the hardest parts of their lives, that isn't the end.
There were plenty of building blocks for this to be another great addition to the NOLA Rebels MC, and stories that jump time aren't a bother to me; however, this book just didn't hit the highs for me. I'm still looking forward to the final few books that Mackenzy Fox has left to release in the series.
Ryder by Mackenzy Fox plunges readers into the gritty world of the NOLA Rebels MC, delivering a tale of forbidden love, rivalries, and the lengths one man will go to protect his own. The story centers on Ryder, the club's VP, and Crystal, his best friend's sister. Their love story is immediately complicated by their differing backgrounds and the animosity between their families. Fox establishes a classic "forbidden love" trope, heightened by the dangerous backdrop of the motorcycle club.
The narrative emphasizes the intensity of Ryder and Crystal's connection. They are drawn to each other, defying familial expectations and societal norms. Ryder's character is portrayed as a protector, a man who will stop at nothing to defend what he considers his. The story hints at a darker side to Ryder, a past he thought was buried, that resurfaces to threaten his present. This element adds a layer of suspense and danger, suggesting that the stakes are incredibly high.
Crystal is not simply a damsel in distress. She actively chooses Ryder, defying her family and building a life with him. She is resilient, having been "rescued" by Ryder in the past, and she is prepared to stand alongside him in the face of adversity. The story portrays her as a strong woman who is part of the NOLA Rebels MC world, ready to fight for her chosen family.
The conflict in Ryder stems from the past, which refuses to stay hidden, and the knowledge that Ryder and Crystal will have to confront their history to secure their future. The NOLA Rebels MC is presented as a united front, a brotherhood that will defend its own. The book explores themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the enduring power of love in the face of overwhelming odds.
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loyalty. Love. Fire. This book burned in the best way possible!
RYDER by Mackenzy Fox is everything I crave in an MC romance and so much more. It's raw, it's emotional, it's toe-curling hot—and at the center of it all is a love story so deep it defies bloodlines, family loyalties, and the weight of the past.
Ryder and Crystal? Whew. The tension, the devotion, the history. They’ve always belonged to each other, even when the world tried to tear them apart. From childhood friends to married lovers battling betrayal, secrets, and scars—this is a love that’s been tested and reforged in fire. 🔥
Ryder is the kind of man who lives and breathes for his woman. Laid back… until someone dares to threaten what’s his. And when he snaps? Let’s just say I wouldn’t want to be on the wrong side of that vengeance. 😮💨
Crystal isn’t just a spoiled princess—she’s a survivor, a fighter, a woman who will burn the world down to protect her man and her MC family. Their chemistry is explosive, their dares are 🔥🔥, and their love? The kind that’s etched into bone.
With rival families, deep betrayal, second chances, sexy dares, and the fierce loyalty of the NOLA Rebels MC, this story is intense, gripping, and unapologetically hot. The twists? Gasp-worthy. The love scenes? Melt-your-Kindle hot. The emotion? Soul-deep.
Mackenzy Fox has done it again with a story that grabs your heart, lights it on fire, and makes you beg for more. If you’re into MCs, powerful love stories, and protective heroes who will burn the world down for their woman, RYDER is an absolute must-read.
I think Ryder may just be my favourite NOLA Rebel yet. I started the series with Hustler, so I have the previous books to catch up on, but Ryder’s book did it for me.
This is true childhood friends, best friend’s little sister at its best. With the MC element this book had it all - drama, suspense, banter, brotherhood, found family, you name it.
Ryder has always had a soft spot for Crystal, she was the typical little annoying sister of his best friend who would follow them around and demand to be a part of whatever they were doing. Then Crystal tells Ryder how she feels about him, but they’re teenagers and he doesn’t want to do anything that would get her hurt or in trouble, so he rejects her and leaves town.
Years later, their paths cross again in New Orleans and Ryder doesn’t see her as his best friend’s little sister anymore and they have one night. A year later, their paths cross again and this time, Ryder vows to make Crystal his.
The drama and suspense unfolds when Crystal moves to New Orleans and Ryders sees his opportunity to be hers. When Crystal is in trouble, it’s Ryder and the club that helps her get out and helps her heal.
This book has many trigger warnings: kidnapping, trafficking, child abuse (off page), domestic violence and the usual MC shenanigans. Please see all trigger warnings before reading.
Really loved these two and am looking forward to the next book in line and to see more of Crystal and Ryder.
📚📚📚 Every time I pick up Mackenzy Fox book I know I’m in for a ride. This one totally did not disappoint!! The amount of time this had me on the edge of my seat and holding my breath till I knew it was all good again!! To many times but it was so good! I totally binged this one in just a couple hours and the spice ugh it was just to good! Ryder and Crystal are absolutely perfect for each other but the journey they have to go through for their happy ending. Gosh it was a long one! My heart hurt so many times for Crystal but I’m just glad Ryder was always there. These two totally deserved the happy ending they got. Overall I totally recommend reading this one!
📚📚📚 If you like to read: - MC romance - Childhood friends to lovers - Married couple - Protector - Rival families - It’s always been her - Sexy dares - Marriage in trouble - He rescues her … You should definitely check this out
📚📚📚
Thank you so much for sending me a copy for an honest review in my own words. #giftedcopy
Ryder and Crystal have my heart. Mackenzy, this book really had my emotions in a spin, covering topics that I could relate too, so please read trigger warnings before reading there story.
This is my fourth book in a row I have read from this series, and each is a interconnected standalone (and I need more hours in the day to read all the rest).
This book looks at Ryder and Crystal's past, as Ryder is best friends with Crystals brother. Crystal has always lusted after Ryder, and there is a bond, but Ryder comes from the "wrong side of the tracks" so to speak, where is Crystal is her parents 'little princess'. A misunderstanding and Ryder leaving, time passes on, but a chance meeting once again sees these two come together, and Crystal is not backing down. There connection is undeniable. Everything about Ryder made me love him so hard and there is nothing he wouldn't do for Crystal.
Crystal is one strong FMC and there was some absolutely heartbreaking chapters that had my emotions in overdrive, and Ryder was there for her every single step of the way. These two have had to fight hard to be where they are now, and their story has been one worth the wait. If there was a couple that needed a HEA these two were top of that list. So many learnings to take away from this book. No matter what side of the tracks you come from, you are worthy of love, and you should never be judged about where you come from. Someones background does NOT define them.
We have been waiting to a long time for Ryder & Crystals story. This was most definitely different to all other stories in the series, as we knew they were married but didn't know how or what happened.. So their love story started when they were teens but Ryder had so much against him including their age. He was 18 and she was 16. Ryder was the bad boy from the wrong side, he was Crystal's brothers best friend, her parents disliked him, emotionally damaged but he was such a good human despite all his trauma. Crystal was confident, bubbly, knows what she wants, caring and humble. In this story all the MC drama is in the beginning. We see them when he was still a prospect and she was off to uni. That one hot night sets off everything in motion. The way Ryder stepped up and was out of his mind protective and possessive was wow. There is violence so please check TW. The we get to them in present day and them riding through a rough patch in marriage. Again you wi6see Crystal's strength and willpower that keeps their marriage going. Loved their little boy. As always, I love seeing rest of the gang and their o'l ladys. I was absolutely not expecting that twist and shocking surprise. I really loved knowing their story, full of love , passion, understanding, trauma, pain, loss, found family and fun banter. The spice was also very appropriate with the story timeline. Oooh already excited about next story.
How would you feel if you were certain you met the love of your life when you were little? How would you feel about that LOVE if it stood the test of time? That's what Ryder and Crystal's real, honest, and powerful story expressed throughout the pages. Two people from opposites sides who found in each other the one person who saw them for who they truly were. Two people that despite how much circumstances tried to tear them apart, found themselves being thrown in each other's paths, because life is "funny" that way. Ryder...hard working, proud, honest, loving, loyal, heart of gold who wanted to prove to himself he could stand on his own two feet and make something of himself. Crystal...privileged, but humble, nurturing, intelligent, feisty, wears her heart on her sleeve, with an incredibly huge capacity for forgiveness. Two souls...two hearts that beat as one...one path. As always, Mackenzy captivated me with her raw portrayal of this world I have been immersed in since I picked up the first book and in true NOLA Rebels fashion they dealt with the situation swiftly and firmly. This world that emphasizes the importance of the connections we make throughout our lives that determine the family we create for ourselves, instead of the one we are born into. I enjoyed learning the story behind this wonderful couple we have all fallen in love with and cannot wait to find out who falls next. Ryder and Crystal: 4.5 stars!
We have Ryder and Crystal's book at last, these two had always intrigued me from the point I started this series so to finally get their book and the truth behind their relationship was shocking but oh so good.
Ryder did not have an easy start in life and it did not help that his best friend younger sister by 3 years had a major crush on him which ended up causing quite a bit of drama. Crystal had always loved Ryder and saw him for who he truly was, and after 5 years of not seeing one another, they meet again in a club on Crystal's birthday and every restraint that Ryder has comes crashing down, only that ends badly and Crystal gets herself into a bad relationship that takes up most of the book.
I certainly did not expect anything that happen in this book for sure. I love how all of the characters in the MC come together when one requires help and assistance, the brotherhood of the MC is something special and was exactly what Ryder needed.
It does take a while for everything to get smoothened out but I loved the chapters we got of Ryder and Crystal together, they truly are the perfect pair. I loved reading this book so much and can't believe that this series will be coming to an end soon, how will I cope without reading about some of my favourite characters after the series ends, I am not ready for that!
Mackenzy Fox has delivered another incredible read! "Ryder" is my favorite book in the NOLA Rebels MC series, and I’ve been looking forward to Ryder and Crystal showing up in previous books. They’ve both intrigued me, so I was happy to get a flashback of how their relationship came about.
Both Crystal and Ryder were meant for one another, and you can see how much they were meant to be together when you first read their story, Ryder. It may have started a little crazy, but it was worth it in the end, and I am glad they found their way back to one another after not seeing each other for a bit. Their chemistry was through the roof, and you could just see how much they wanted one another.
I adore Crystal’s personality, and she was so strong and she definitely went for what she wanted, and we love to see such a strong female main character. Now, Ryder was hot!! He was such a caring and protective MMC who showed that he cared about Crystal!
The love they had for each other was perfect, and it made the overall story so worth it. I recommend this book so much, especially if you’ve followed this series along this far!
I had the opportunity to receive this arc early in exchange for my honest review, and this read did not disappoint. Thank you, Mackenzy, and The Author Agency, for this opportunity!
Five stars! I’m loving this series so much, and I need everyone to pick up these books!
Ryder is a childhood friends to lovers, married couple, motorcycle club (MC) romance between Crystal and Ryder.
I loved Crystal. She’s a force to be reckoned with, who knows what she wants and what she deserves, and will not settle for anything less. And she always makes sure her loved ones feel the same way, even when they have a hard time believing it. She loves her MC family, especially Ryder, fiercely, and protects them from any judgment townspeople may throw their way. I think so many readers will really love her too.
I really felt for Ryder. He always wants the best for Crystal, even if it meant he was no longer a part of her life. But I loved that when she comes back as an adult, he can’t stop himself from slipping back into that protector role, and once she’s his, he loves her just as fiercely as he protects her. Even when they’re married and having struggles having a second baby, he never once wavers in his love and loyalty to her, and does whatever he can to let her know just how loved she is. I can see so many readers falling hard for him too.
Thank you so much to @mackenzyfoxbooks and @theauthor.agency for this amazing arc! I can’t wait to see what happens next in Pipes’ book!
Ryder and the rest of this amazing series is now available in KU💗
I just finished Ryder, the 13th book in the NOLA Rebels MC series, and wow, what a ride! Ryder and Crystal’s love story had me hooked from the very first page to the last. Crystal has always known she loved Ryder, while he’s struggled with feelings of not being good enough for her. But when she finds herself in a tough situation, Ryder and his MC brothers are right there to rescue her.
The chemistry between Ryder and Crystal is off the charts, and they finally give in to their feelings for each other. As they build a future together, they also start to heal from their pasts. But, of course, old issues have a way of creeping back in and testing their love.
The author did an amazing job creating a cast of characters who feel like family, always ready to step in and protect their own when things get tough. Ryder and Crystal’s story might start off as a slow burn, but it quickly picks up the pace with plenty of twists, turns, and family drama that needs to be resolved for them to find their happily ever after.
I can’t wait to see what happens in Pipes’ book next! Until then, happy reading!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This MC (motorcycle) series just keeps getting better and better. Ryder is book number 13 in the NOLA Rebels MC series.
We first met Ryder and his wife Crystal in the Bracken Ridge MC series when they married and again throughout the NOLA Rebels series but never really got to know their story.
This book talks about their beginning - how they knew each other as kids and grew up in the same town.
It was interesting to see where they started, all the obstacles they had to overcome and the love that kept them together through all of it.
What I love about Mackenzy’s books is how each book so easily flows into the next. I love the found family that the characters have within the MC and how protective they are of the females in their lives. I love the spice and chemistry between the FMC and MMC but also the plot, storyline and suspense.
As I always do, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to try out MC romance. It can be read as a standalone but I would suggest reading it from the beginning to understand all the characters better.
As always, the found family in this series was top tier. I love this series so much, and I can't believe it's almost over. The dual timeline in this book was perfection. Chrystal and Ryder have been through this entire series, and we finally got the story of their past and I absolutely loved it! Check those TW because my goodness they went through it. The past was the hardest to read, and I cried multiple times, but they finally got their HEA, but, of course, not without drama at the end and Chrystal handled it all like a badass and I want to be her. Chrystal was such a strong and feisty FMC, and she fought hard for her happiness and her family.
Ryder, Oh man, he was so damn swoony and not your typical playboy MC member. He was down so bad for Chrystal and sacrificed his own happiness to make sure she lived her life. Honestly, I never thought a stutter could be hot, but goddamn I melted every time he did. He was such a perfect blend of badass and golden retriever. He struggles with a lot of feelings of not feeling good enough because of his messed-up past.
I loved reading peeks into all the series' characters' past and, my goodness, it makes me want to reread from the beginning. And the banter between all the guys was so good as always.
Finally🤩 we have been following Ryder and Crystal through the whole series and now we get all their steamy meetings and history. The chemistry these two have from growing up in the same town and learning how Crystal becomes her sassy, feisty self is everything. Ryder is a fiercely protective MMC, and Crystal is always mouthing off to keep him on his toes.
As always we get to see the MC in action, standing up when needed and protecting their family when evil shows his ugly face.
This book begins with their past, how they know each other from growing up. And why their paths went separate ways back then. Fast forward to Ryder’s prospect time, where they meet again at a bar down town (not the same they grew up in) and oh my… their spark is definitely flying of the pages.😏😏 fast forward a year again to Crystal moving to town with a boyfriend and NOT telling Ryder. Ehm.. no spoilers but that boyfriend is trouble with a capital T.
I love how we are taken on the journey of Ryder and Crystal through their lives. It ties them together so perfectly. I knew i would love Ryder so much, but you still surprise me every time. I can’t wait for Pipes and the little breadcrumbs written in Ryder’s book. It’s gonna be awesome!
