A supernatural campus. A deadly mission. And three distracting men she should definitely not be falling for.
Jackie Durand only agreed to go to the supernatural college to appease her parents. She'd rather be following in her mother's footsteps chasing down rogue vampires than sitting in Econ 101.
Until the Vampire Hunter Guild needs her to help flush out a rebel group hell bent on destroying everything her family had built.
Now Jackie has a mission and that didn't include a shadow wielding vampire, a golden retriever werewolf, and her new professor getting in the way.
With seven dads, Jackie thought she knew how to handle love. She will soon learn that love comes in the most unexpected places and with even worse timing.
Will she accomplish her goal or will she finally figure out what's really worth fighting for?
Erin Bedford is an otaku, recovering coffee addict, and Legend of Zelda fanatic. Her brain is so full of stories that need to be told that she must get them out or explode into a million screaming chibis. Obsessed with fairy tales and bad boys, she hasn’t found a story she can’t twist to match her deviant mind full of innuendos, snarky humor, and dream guys.
On the outside, she’s a work from home mom and bookbinger. One the inside, she’s a thirteen-year-old boy screaming to get out and tell you the pervy joke they found online. As an ex-computer programmer, she dreams of one day combining her love for writing and college credits to make the ultimate video game!
Until then, when she’s not writing, Erin is devouring as many books as possible on her quest to have the biggest book gut of all time. She’s written over thirty books, ranging from paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and even scifi romance.
Also, third person is really weird when writing about yourself. Just putting that out there.
I absolutely loved the story line, the mystery and the secrets made it so good!
Jack is a hunter trying to live a double life while undercover at a supernatural academy and falling for a wolf and a vampire who turn out to be something terrible from her past.
Oh, and the 🌶 scenes are fantastic, Kyren can weild shadows and Tate? Well...🪜 😉
Heart of a Vampire by Erin Bedford took me on an emotional journey I never wanted to end. This story has everything I crave in a dark fantasy romance—vampires dripping in danger and allure, wolves with fierce loyalty, witches bound by ancient power, and humans caught in the beautiful chaos of it all. But beyond the supernatural battles and seductive tension, there’s something deeply human about this book. It’s about love found in the shadows, trust earned through pain, and the way broken souls can still fit perfectly together.
From the very first page, I was pulled into Bedford’s lush, atmospheric world. The writing is vivid and magnetic—it doesn’t just tell the story, it enchants you. Every scene feels alive with emotion, whether it’s a tense standoff, a quiet confession, or one of those perfectly steamy moments that make you forget to breathe. The world-building is layered with mystery and magic, but it’s the characters that truly make this story unforgettable.
Kyren… oh, Kyren. The way he commands shadows is mesmerizing, but it’s the depth behind his darkness that broke and healed me all at once. He’s powerful, yes, but also deeply haunted—a creature of night with a heart that still dares to love. And Tate? Let’s just say his moments are pure 🔥 perfection. He brings both levity and intensity, the kind that sneaks up on you when you least expect it.
What I loved most is how Erin Bedford balances the emotional and the erotic. The spice is divine—tantalizing without ever overshadowing the story’s heart. Each intimate scene feels earned, layered with emotion and vulnerability. It’s not just about physical attraction; it’s about connection, trust, and surrender.
By the time I turned the final page, my heart was full—aching, but full. The story’s blend of love, loss, and redemption left me thinking long after I finished. Bedford reminds us that even in worlds drenched in blood and darkness, love can still bloom—and that sometimes, the most broken hearts are the ones that shine the brightest.
If you love paranormal romance with substance, steam, and soul, Heart of a Vampire is everything you’re looking for. It’s seductive, emotional, and beautifully written—a story that will stay with you long after the moon fades and the shadows fall away.
Heart of a Vampire by Erin Bedford is an exciting mix of fantasy, mystery, and romance that pulls you in right from the start. The story follows a strong and relatable heroine who suddenly finds herself caught up in a dangerous world filled with vampires and secrets. Erin Bedford’s writing is easy to follow but still detailed enough to make the scenes come alive.
What I really liked about the book is how it balances action with emotion. The characters feel real, especially the main one, and her reactions make the story believable. The chemistry between the characters adds just the right amount of tension and romance without taking away from the main plot.
Overall, Heart of a Vampire is a fun and addictive read that keeps you curious until the end. It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys supernatural stories with a mix of mystery, humor, and heart.

Heart of a Vampire is book one in the author’s new Durand Supernatural Academy series that follows MFC Jackie Durand who only let her parents talk her into attending her name sake to appease them when hunting Vampire’s like her mother is what she wants to be doing. Better than listening to professors droll on. Then she is given a secret mission inside the academy and the suspense ramps up, along with three love interests. A good story that was nicely written with well crafted characters, romance, intrigue, personal vulnerability, surprises, and passion which kept the heart pounding at every turn. Awesome, entertaining read.

MMFM With one MMC she had a prior tryst with but he then proceeded to ignore her since he’s a superior and it’s wrong even though he still keeps the underwear from their time together. The MM is between the werewolf and vampire and there is some good sharing scenes. Jack is undercover so no one knows who she really is but it is revealed in the least couple chapters and some people definitely feel betrayed. I kinda hate how it put Tate in the middle since he lives both Jack and Kyren but he can’t be with both since they now hate each other even though they were definitely in love before learning their identities.
• Why choose • Supernatural academy • Paranormal Romance • Multi POV • Boyfriends are boyfriends • FMC has 7 dads
Loved the supernatural world, (needless to say I´ll start Reading House of Durand series) vampires, werewolves, witches, hunters, human servants…. Plus the 7 DAD´s hahah I really wanna know their dynamic
Jack´s a great FMC, she’s badass, sassy, funny, super strong, yet naïve in some aspects but it’s really funny how she start to enjoy herself, and the MMC´s I can’t imagine how Julian and Kyren are going to interact maybe they can work it out…in bed 🥵 hahaha
Anyway, I can’t wait for the next book I NEED it ASAP
I liked this book, but I was very confused about the outcome. This book doesn’t have a second part, which was not good news. As a mood reader, it just left me confused. The book itself was good but seemed rushed, and honestly, everything could have been avoided with just a conversation.
In terms of the dynamics between the FMC and the Wolf MMC, the Vamp MMC just seems hung up on a pointless grudge, and I don’t even know what’s going on with the Professor MMC. I don’t see how this could turn into a why-choose. A why-choose with the Wolf MMC and Vamp MMC — yes, I can 100% see how that would work. One with all four? I’m skeptical.
The Heart of a Vampire is the first book in a Branch-off series from the House of Durand series. It has passion and romance along with hidden secrets. I found the Heart of a Vampire to be very captivating and loved each page. I was pulled into the story from page one and held captive until the very end. I found the story to flow wonderfully throughout every read page. I loved it so much I couldn't put it down. The FMC is the daughter of some amazing parents and when offered the chance for a distinguished education at a Supernatural college she goes, but this schooling has surprises, secrets and Heated Romance around each corner. Plus there are mix-ups with housing for our fierce FMC. The MMC's are quite the handful for our courageous FMC One has a secret and the other is a sweety. MMC 2 is a Werewolf and I found him to be extreme a caring and protective and the definite swoon worthy type. MMC 1 is a Broody Vampire but when he gets started in the passion he doesn't let up. So, if you enjoy a Broody Dark MMC, A Golden Protective Tender Loving MMC, Heated Romance, A Jealous Handsome Professor and a Strong FMC then you need this book. but I highly recommend that you start with the series that started this adventure out.
Heart of a Vampire is book one in the Durand Supernatural Academy series and is Jackie Durand's story. If you read the House of Durand series, then you met Jackie's parents, and I loved that we are now getting the next generation's story. Jackie wants to be a vampire hunter like her mother, but her parents want her to go to college. But why can't she do both and have fun at the same time? This is a great start to the series with interesting characters, mystery, humor, romance, and steam. After that ending I can't wait to read the next book in the series to find out what happens next. This is the first book in the Durand Supernatural Academy series and I’m so excited. I loved the previous series with the Durand’s and now we get to learn more about their daughter, Jack. She’s determined to be a hunter and she gets a mission to infiltrate the academy as a student to find the supernatural rebels. The characters and the story were amazing. I feel heartbroken about Jack, Tate and Kyren. I can’t wait until the next book to find out what happens.
The narrative was engaging, and the plot was well-paced. While some aspects could have benefited from further elucidation, I found the reading experience to be enjoyable overall. The characters were also quite memorable, and the world-building, though not entirely perfect, was immersive enough to keep me turning the pages.

Jackie Durand would rather hunt down rogue vampires than attend a college for supernaturals but maybe going in to find any issues that may be occurring she could finally have some freedom from people knowing who she is because going undercover means no one knows who she is and the notoriety that her family name brings and gives her the chance to have some freedom but with freedom comes the attraction of three distracting men who could turn her life upside down.
This is book 1 of the Durand Supernatural Academy series and starts things off quickly.
The characters were well written and complex and complicated. Plot was intriguing, exciting and well paced. World building was excellent and expertly drawn. Cannot wait for more of this world. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

The story perfectly blends dark romance, mystery, and supernatural elements, creating a world that’s both thrilling and seductive. The main character is strong yet relatable, and her chemistry with the vampire love interest is intense and full of tension.
The pacing is fast, the writing style engaging, and the world-building feels vivid and immersive. I especially enjoyed how the author mixed academy life with danger and romance it kept me turning pages late into the night.
I enjoyed this first book in the Durand Supernatural Academy series. I was hooked from start to finish and am looking forward to the next instalment in this trilogy.
The characters are well-drawn, the story was well thought out, and it was so moving at times. I can't wait to see what happens next in Jack, Tate and Kyren's journey.

The first book in the Durand Supernatural Academy, and the first book in the trilogy. The story follows Jack, a hunter living a double life while undercover at a supernatural academy. She soon finds herself falling for two students—a wolf and a vampire—who tragically turn out to be deeply connected to a terrible event from her past. I will be reading the next book. This engaging PNR storyline has drama, steam, chemistry, secrets, realizations, truths revealed. The MCs are defined, have issues and secrets, are likable, and engaging. Secondary characters are interesting and good additions to the story.

This was an incredible read as we head off to the Duran supernatural academy with Jackie Durand to flush out a rebel group! It’s exciting, it’s dangerous and Jackie is an incredible FMC who’s strong, kick ass and very determined. It’s a fun and addictive read that pulls you in with its blend of fantasy, suspense and romance, danger, tension and drama and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Yes! Okay, I loved her mama Piper, and this is absolutely fabulous! I was so excited to dive back into the Durand world—it's one of my top 10 favorites ever! This story adds so much to it, and I cannot wait for more!
This is the start of Jackie Durand's story and starts out as a supernatural academy series but of course things are not as they seem. Jackie heads to school and gets dragged into undercover world while there so I got some fun drama and trouble to enjoy. I laughed and groaned and enjoyed it all.
An intriguing story with a supernatural theme. I enjoyed the drama surrounding these characters who were so interesting and captivating in their thoughts and actions. I can’t wait to read the next book.

This was an interesting sequel/next generation story of the Durands. Jack has had to grow up fast it seems, not getting the normal experiences of other kids her age. I enjoyed reading about her and getting a glimpse of the family again. I look forward to seeing what happens next.
This is a start of a new spinoff series. There was a good mix of action and spice. I loved the worldbuilding and the relationships between the characters.

Great romance. I love that we get to see more about the Durands daughter, Jack, as she finds her mates. But it is also a great book even if you haven’t read the previous series.
Read it in one day! Kinda love that she is the one with the secret not the other two. Is it bad I just want her to end up with Julian, the other two where kinda giving nothing
