A city on edge. A crime family in turmoil. A truth too dangerous to stay buried.Investigative journalist Stella LaRosa has spent her career exposing corruption, but when whispers of a brewing war between San Francisco’s crime syndicates reach her, she realizes this fight is closer to home than she ever imagined. The Emerald Legion, a ruthless Irish gang, is making a move for power—and they’re willing to reduce the city to ash to claim it.

As Stella digs deeper, she uncovers a deadly plot set to unfold during the Chinese New Year Parade, an attack designed to send a violent message to anyone who dares stand in the Legion’s way. With few people she can trust, she turns to Detective Rob Griffin, a man who knows her better than most but whose badge keeps them on opposite sides of the law. And when FBI Agent Ana Rodriguez steps in with intel that raises the stakes even higher, Stella realizes this isn’t just a battle for control—it’s a reckoning decades in the making.

With time running out, betrayal closing in, and a past she can no longer outrun, Stella must decide how far she’s willing to go to stop the Emerald Legion before the streets of San Francisco run red.

For fans of relentless, high-stakes thrillers, White Lies is a gripping ride through deception, power, and the dangerous cost of the truth.

Edit!

I like the premise of these books, but the lack of editing is beyond annoying. 2 examples - writing Stella when you're clearly talking about Ana, and saying something happened x number of days ago when it happened the same night. There have been numerous errors like these in the previous books, but this one by far has the most errors. Also, not keeping consistency between books has also occurred, but unfortunately, I haven't kept a running list to detail specifics as that's not why I read. I'm just asking the author(s) to be mindful and prevent these types of errors, or at the very least, minimize them, please.

Captivating characters; slipshod plotting

As always, there is so much to enjoy, a strong female lead with unexpected skills in combat and reportage. Her friends are 3-dimensional and give added depth to the story line. But for a chess player, Ms. Belcamino writes with little regard for plot lines and procedures.
E.g., when does a civilian who has been involved in a shooting get to retain possession of her firearm pending formal disposition of the case? And what highly trained "cleaner" allows the person he's forcefully abducted to retain her handgun!? And what happened to the gun Stella used on the Cleaner when she then immediately proceeded to confront the prime bad guy? And weren't there two people who abducted her? Where did number two villain go? And why, Sweet Jesus, would that vicious bad guy flip a knife between his hands when he was already holding a pistol?!!!!
Plot pieces were generated clumsily as, for example, when Special Agent Ana loads a locator app onto their phones moments before it fortuitously plays a major part in keeping our main protagonist alive.
But what really left scorch marks on my undercarriage was the failure to give Ruby the satisfaction of seeing her former boyfriend hit the skids! That was a scene that would have been worth writing!!
So once again collaborative writing suffers from neither author critiquing the other's work. Continuity suffers. Plot development becomes sloppy and the books start to lose their appeal. Please L.T., for the sake of your readers, sharpen up!!

Love Unrequited

Love always wins in the end. So glad this story was not the exception for a high spirited soul. It is a gripping book with many twists and turns and the supporting characters take on a meaningful role to support the lead character in the story. The author of this book is an exceptional writer who definitely meets my needs for a thrilling story with complicated plot lines. Read it and you will not be disappointed.

White Lies

Stella learns a lot about her father after his murder, he was half Irish and was part of that mafia until he fell in love with het Italian mother and switched his allegiance and took her last name. Things made more sense to her when she learned this. In the end the Italians won over the Irish, her father was avenged and the Irish mafia was dismantled. Great story, great author.

Never a dull moment

I am hooked on Stella. Her whole life is exciting and always dangerous. Her emotional story, her father's crime family history, and her military past all give her a powerful presence in a very chaotic life. Ana, Griffin and Mazzy always by her side in love and war. I am looking forward to the next one!

This was a great next chapter for Stella. She not only got her father's killer, she saved her niece and ended up with Griffin . A little touch and go with him with knife wound. Her and Ana make great team . Took out all the corruption in police, FBI and government . Thanks to Ruby. 10 stars plus!!!! Thanks Carl Clause

Stella LaRosa is back and the body count is high

Stella's father is killed right in front of her. Stella learns who sent the shooter and why. She also learns some shocking things about her father.
She sets out on a vendetta that not only ends the one who sent the shooter, but pretty much his whole organization and the crooked cops and politicians that enabled him.

White Lies (Stella LaRosa Book 4)

This book ends with a more placid and hopeful ending than books 1-3. The main characters make it through a series of dangerous situations and come out strong. An amazing police story.

White Lies

This was an excellent book. Lots of action, great plot, and Stellar resolved most of the issues in her life. Beyond that it was set in San Francisco. I know the area well.

Love it!

Stella has a score to settle and she will not rest until it’s done. Griffin is always there for her to help keep her centered. Such a great mix of loss, revenge, and love.

Looks like after a marathon of exciting actions and some pretty severe consequences, Griffin has managed to get his chance with Stella. Hope some good adventures are to come for us loyal readers.

girl boss

Stella doesn’t want to kill anyone but she just can’t help herself. Another good installment. Love the relationships she’s developing. I don’t know how killing someone who kidnapped you and has a weapon and kill room isn’t self defense…but it all works out in the end
