I'm dying! This book changes everything you think about the first book. The first book is a beautiful and devastating story of Krissa, Braiden and Chance. Where they come from, who they are and the crazy yet seemingly content place they live, and the basic way things run. Do what you are told you are supposed to do and you will be given all you need and taken care of,. But if you don't want to obide by the rules, you are banished to the Sweeper Unit. Easy peasy. Now Tore on the other hand....Krissa has grown up and is forced to make 1 of 2 terrible choices. None of which appeal to her very much. She lives with months of heartache but manages to get by. Then she meets Duke, and things will be ok......
I can't say anything else! I can't express the emotions, the ups, the downs, loving one more, but then the other. Finding out the truth behind the facade. This book has some seriously sad moments! And some seriously beautiful ones. Amazing read! I am so anxious for the next book, I have to find out what is about to happen, and the more I think about what could happen now that the lovely K.d. Ferguson has "Tore" my heart out at the end of this book.

WOW, so very different from book one, but in a very good way!

What I found so refreshing about book one is the fact that the story focuses a lot on the main characters and their relationship (or relationship problems).
In book two, however, there is some real action going down!

The book starts right there where book one ended: Braiden's call.
It turned out that Braiden came back and now again, both Braiden and Krissa are forced to be paired. Krissa has a lot of troubles with this decision that has been made by the government, but she is ready to go along with this plan because she wants to avoid to become a Sweeper at all costs, even though Braiden caused her a lot of pain (A LOT OF PAIN!!)

'I spent every day trying to figure out the exact moment he had stopped loving me.'
This time though, she was stronger, or at least wanted to appear stronger in front of Braiden. They both had troubles after coming together again, they had so many issues to go through, so much to talk about, yet they remained in silence. Krissa doubted Braiden, but felt love again, at least sometimes. But again, Braiden left her (for the fourth time now, if I'm not mistaken, I was so mad at him at this point!!)

Luckily, there is Duke (who had a little appearance in book one!):
I felt like the relationship that they both developed, was way too fast and too rushed, but, considering the length of the book and what is about to happen, it's understandable.
Krissa had problems in the beginning, she was afraid Duke's love isn't real and that she really would end up alone and exiled to the Sweeper's unit. She has some trusting issues, but after what Braiden had put her through, I'd be shocked if she were able to act normal.
As a consequence of their relationship, the two moved to HQ and lived together.

Then there was a major twist in the story as one day Krissa found a secret message from Braiden. And it was at that point where basically everything that happened, was absolutely suprising!
Headquarters and the government turned out to be a lie, at least what they've been telling people from the other units all the time.
The people in the Sweeper's unit have a miserable life, even the neccessities are not provided, they basically live in filth.
At the same time, there's a secret place called the Dwell that had been build directly underneath the Sweeper's unit and had been built by some people living in the Sweeper's unit, including Cabe, Braiden's father.
'They saw him as a threat, so they took away his freedom.'
Krissa spent some time in the Dwell with Braiden next to her (while Duke was at HQ, in training to become a member of Enforcement) and step by step, she learned the truth and how the government was treating the people in the Sweeper's unit in reality. One day she met Mallory who told her her story about how she ended up in the Sweeper's unit and this was a final eye-opener to Krissa.
The Dwell is planning an uprising in order to take over HQ.
I knew all along that this would bring big trouble as Braiden works with his father on the uprising and Duke works as a member of Enforcement, I totally knew this will be a big problem someday!

'If he cared as deeply as he claimed, how was he able to resist seeing me for so long? I had barely held on to what little he'd left and he never made an efort to come back for me.'
During all this time Krissa spent in the Dwell, Braiden tried to convince her that his love has always been real and that he wanted her back.
However, his explanation of his behaviour during their relationship wasn't enough for me as a reader, I would not forgive him.
He said he was scared back then and his world shattered when the relationship began to be difficult. Like he said himself, he was on "his own personal journey", because at some point he started to be sceptical towards what was said about his father. And both Krissa and the reader didn't know that, during the first book, Braiden fought to get his father back, who was locked away by the government for years.
Still, Braiden said he doesn't want to make Krissa his first priority because the uprising is what matters the most to him now as it is for the greather good.

'I refused to believe the blazing torch that I'd been carrying for Braiden had completely died out.'
Krissa turned out to be in a really difficult situation where she permanently had to choose between Braiden and Duke.
Of course she had to lie to Duke, because she couldn't tell him where she really was while he was gone.
She even did things that just weren't fair to Duke.
Duke is probably the best thing that happened to her. To me, he seems like the perfect character, he is understanding and he really loves Krissa.
In my opinion, he seriously did not deserve anything Krissa did in his abscence.

At some points in the book, Krissa was too weak for my taste, but really, how much can a single human being take, especially after all Krissa had already gone through.
And I really liked the role Chance took in this book!

In the end of the book, there are two massive twists that let my mouth hang open!
(having my fingers crossed for that certain character!)

____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Summing up:
This book was a huge suprise to me, I enjoyed it a lot more than the first one!
And I really couldn't put it down, there was so much action (I love love love this!)
The structure of the society and the world is so interesting.
I've read a lot of dystopian books already, but there always seems to be yet another way how our world could look like in the future.

And I really really need to read the third book (after a cliffhanger like this, waiting will be crucial!)

again, I want to thank the author for giving me this book for a review!

Can I first say how much Tore Divided Love's world intrigues me? It might be because I've hardly read semi-utopian books before and this one fascinated me to no end. I liked how everything is supposed to be perfect. The government gives you the opportunity to live in one of the five districts or at headquarters depending on your efforts before you turn 18, with a house, a car and anything you might possibly need. But that's not all, they also let you pick your top three pair choices, and they will assign one of them to you as a partner upon availability. All for the well-being of the community. How cool is that? (In a messed up way of course).

As expected, a society can never be perfect and there are many secrets that the main character, Krissa, is finally discovering. In Torn True Love, Krissa lives inside a bubble dreaming of her perfect life at headquarters with her perfect pair. But as it turns out, this doesn't come even close at the end of the book. Her boyfriend, Braiden, is strange, distant, abusive and un-supportive. He questions the rules of their government and flees their district, leaving a damaged Krissa behind.

Now, Tore Divided Love continues on following the steps of Krissa after the fiasco that was her last year of high school. She doesn't have a pair or dream job, and she still has feelings for Braiden. Soon, she meets this guy who's different and a better person than Braiden and willing to give her the moon and stars. But of course, Braiden comes back and ruins everything, in part. He opens her eyes to some of the government's secrets and Krissa is about to be involved with those against it wether she wants to or not. Cue dystopian society.

That's the part where things start to get good and sadly, I can't say anything more about it because a) that's like giving the whole book away and b) because I'm still clueless on many things. Stuff is brewing though, that is one thing I am very sure of thanks to what happens at the end of the book. I really don't know what's going on with the government and what big secrets it's hiding, but I'm excited for what could happen and what can take me totally by surprise.

It's actually the first time I was more interested in learning about the society than the "love story". It does have a huge role in the book, but I wasn't that much into it. So sad. It's hard to like a guy who is nothing but a jerk (and I'm so, so glad that Krissa finally stood up to him) and to battle feelings for another guy who is practically married with the government. One thing is for sure: people do stupid things when in love (and I totally get that).

Overall, I believe Tore Divided Love is the kind of book that either you will like it or not. I look forward to knowing what happens next to Krissa, the rebellion, and if she discovers more government secrets. I want to see that place bare! Personally, I also want Krissa to build a better character so I can cheer for her without a second thought. I want her to be an example, someone to look up to and know she respects herself before anything or anyone else. Now that would be perfect.

Note: Would recommend this book to readers 17+ because it has some mature content.

This was interesting. I felt for Krissa until she saw the singles area and acted how she did. And her way with Braiden in the end hurt as well. yes he did act like a spoiled child at times. Yes he did act like a douche as well but he did go through alot and he was trying to do good. He just wasn't so good with emotions and he did in the end sacrifice for her. This was a catalyst I would say for her to finally realize a few things.

This is one unfeeling government who want to cause a rift between those who pair and those who don't. Punish those who are single or beyond their circumstances end up that way. Braiden and his friend who was risking everything to help say this and wanted to change it. For braiden personal circumstances helped him see the light. For Krissa it was a child it took her a long time though and even then she would only do so much because she didn't want to lose the life she had. Understandable but frustrating as well.

Duke her new pairing was a sweet kind and forgiving guy who just wanted to live his life with her. Poor dude. No clue she still struggled with her feelings for Krissa. It isn't until she reconciled how she felt about Braiden that she could truly commit but what I found to be seriously messed up was how she told Braiden. I mean did you expect him to hug you and say all is well. Not going to happen Krissa.

The day of her pairing brought about some consequences that ripped Krissa's life apart question is how will she deal and what happens next.

A book about being caught in the middle of loving two people and having to conform to society so that you can survive. About finding the strength to do what is right even if it means losing everything in the process.

In book two of the True Love series, we discover Krissa is a shadow of her former self. Braiden has disappeared and she’s barely surviving. Sure, she has a job and a place to live but her whole world is wrapped up in Braiden.

Suddenly, he returns and she tries to make it work. He’s distant but there’s a specific reason why. We catch a glimpse and then he is gone again.

Krissa’s heart is torn to shreds again and I kept shaking my head and begging her to just move on! C’mon girl! You’re more than just Braiden’s girlfriend; you’re an individual with your whole future ahead.

My heart lifted when we meet Duke. Duke is everything Krissa’s dreamt of and he is kind, affectionate and caring; everything Braiden is not. Krissa is torn between two men. Which one will she choose?

Filled with intense scenes and plot twists I didn’t see coming, this book is head and shoulders better than book one. I loved Duke as a character and a potential mate for Krissa. I loved how Krissa responds to adversity, even while her perspective shifts dramatically on the world. I loved the author’s portrayal of the Sweeper unit. It rings true to our society and how we treat those in need. There’s a cliff-hanger at the very end of the book I wasn’t expecting and I gasped in shock.

I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

I pretty much got pissed in the beginning of this read with Braiden's resurfacing and I felt horrible for Krissa for all of the crap that was going on! I wanted to scream before I was even to chapter six. Things settle after that even though she was left with the aftermath of her life after Braiden demolished her hopes and dreams. (Butthead) Things were calming down but Krissa needed to work hard to not end up where she had no desire to go.

Duke was an interesting development and it made me hopeful for Krissa. I was relieved that she had found him. This was an exciting read and I bit my nails and worried that the bottom would drop out from all that had been happening Good in Krissa's life. I love Duke and what he brought to the story he was the swoon-a-licious part of this read and my favorite character for sure.

My jaw hit the floor when Krissa rushed out of Duke's house, his mom is a bee... And poor Krissa OMG! But the silver lining was great! Then it happened dang it Braiden!
Ya know there is no way to get through this review without spoiling alot for you.
Let me just say, wow, just wow! I was stunned and the plot twists oh my gawd!

This is a very, very good read and I would recommend it highly.

Love this! P.S. I NEED book 3 ASAP!!

Now she really is torn....

Great continuation of the Torn series! I liked this was even better, but as a warning for some, there will be more to come... I don't think Krissa's story is finished yet! Also don't let the futuristic theme scare you off...this book is very easy to follow and scary at times as I see how our current world relates. And now a bit about the story...

Krissa has a year to find her pair... if not she is off to the land of Sweepers. But how is she to move on? She just lost her love and miscarried... She isn't ready to move on. But things start looking up when Braiden returns, but will he stay? Can she trust him? Then she meets Duke and things look even better, but how does she decide?

Favorite passages:
- "Good, as in I'm really okay and I am optimistic about my future? Or good, I'm surviving each day, not knowing, or caring, about my future?"
- "I want to live my life freely, not confined by parameters that strangers have set."
- The only thing I was absolutely sure of was that I was on a path that would have many more twists and turns.

I thought K.D. had a nice writing style in the first book, but was absolutely in awe of how much she has grown as a writer in this second book. I was also very pleased to see that Krissa’s character has grown herself and that she has made better choices this time around. I love the fact that there is a lot more mystery and suspense in this sequel. I could not stop reading it. I was so happy to see the possibility of Krissa finding “true" happiness. I understand now why Braiden was how he was. It didn’t give him the right to treat her like he did as we all go through stuff, but finally seeing the “real" Braiden changed my feelings on him a little. I never saw what happened in the end coming. It left me wanting more because I HAVE to know what happens to Krissa. Bravo K.D. Ferguson. Job well done on this book. I look forward to the next one.

Not your everyday average teenage dystopian novel - much better! Deceptively oppressive government: check. Citizens living in designated societal areas: check. Secret faction readying to overthrow government: check. Star-crossed lovers: here's where it gets a bit complicated. And messy. And suspenseful. With twists I did not expect. A wonderful sequel to the author's first book, Torn True Love, this one also ends on a cliffhanger - this story is not over yet!

First, I would like to thank the author K.D. Ferguson for giving me this book for an honest review. I enjoyed this book better than the Torn, the story-line is great. The characters are well developed and written. The world building was better for me in this second book, great job K.D. Ferguson. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Rating: 2.5/5.

The second book in this series made me warm to the main character much more than I did in book 1.

At times, certain attitudes and decisions she made can still seem a little weak, but when taken in context of the story they make more sense and I began to feel sympathetic to Krissa and her situation. I still struggle with the main love interest and the foundation of that relationship, though by the end things were made a little more clear and I think my heart ended up in shreds on the floor – I’m dying for the next book (which I hope is the last?!) to put the pieces together and see what happens. I need to know what happens to this society, who Krissa picks, if Braiden’s story-line is really over, what happens to Chance, just… so. many. questions. Overall, the second book was much more appealing than the first.

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an hoest review.

This was a good book, it was leaps and bounds better than the first one. I'm glad that I took the opportunity to continue this series because if not, I would have missed out on a really intriguing book. This book had the excitement, mystery, and romance that I had been looking for. I really enjoyed watching Krissa's character grow from someone who was self indulged to someone who genuinely cared about others. You discover where Braiden disappears to and why he was there. You also get an in- depth look into Braiden's life and you start to understand the reasons behind his rash decisions. I sympathize with Krissa's love triangle and the hard decision that she is going to have to make. We thankfully get more insight into the government, the other units, and how they all work together. What happens at the end of the book left me in shock, but most of all I was sad that it was over. I can't wait until the next book in this series is released so I can see what happens next.

**Slight Spoilers Ahead**
An excellent second book to the series. I couldn't put it down. Ferguson did an excellent job of keeping me emotionally connected with the characters every step of the way. I became attached and torn between Braiden and Duke and rather enjoyed the fact that the writer didn't make decisions easy. It showed a great deal of character development from the first book. Tore had more story to it and I enjoyed the development and flow. Excellent job Ferguson.
