Pp. x, 406; numerous text-figures and maps, some text-photos. Publisher's tan simulated snake-skin cloth, lettered in brown on the spine, black and red pictorial dust jacket, lg 8vo. This volume is based on a 13-month field study of the Komodo dragon on the islands of Komodo, Pandar and Flores. No ownership marks.
From the era of good natural history studies, but not a book for the non-biologist, I would say. Extreme details on all aspects of the dragons as recorded during the first intensive study of the animals. Now wish I could get my hands on Murphy's 2002 "Komodo Dragons: Biology and Conservation" but it appears to be in short supply so the asking prices for used copies are astronomical. Anyone have a copy of Murphy and want to do a trade :) ?
