Volume 18 of this Light Novels series takes place at Christmas time. Almost a year has passed since the beginning of Book 1, and the members of DxD have decided to give out presents to folks as a way of o show amends for how the town of Kuou has suffered due to the battles with various terrorist factions.

In the midst of all of this, Shidou Irina's father comes to town to visit. As a high ranking member of his church, Pastor Shidou knows of how God is dead and the Three Great Powers are at peace... also that his daughter is a reincarnated angel.

He also has a most unusual gift from Heaven for Issei and Irina. I'll leave it at that as it is hilarious. Suffice it to say that it solves some problems for the two of them.

But things are about to take anose-dive when Irina's father and Heaven itself are attacked. Now Issei and his friends are in for the fight of their lives against some very deadly and determined foes.

This volume was fun in the sweetness and the showing off of other characters. The aweet art was in the friendship of the characters, and the genuine affection that they have for each other. The awesome part for the other characters was in sowing how deadly and powerful they are.

A little short, me thinks, but fun all the same.
