This is a valuable handbook for anyone in the administrative or secretarial professions. It is rare for us to find information that can make a difference both in our professional careers and personal relationships in one easy-to-read book. Filled with thoughtful questions and answers, this book leads the readers on an exciting and well laid out journey to understanding what it takes to support their executive while rising to the top and reaching their career goals.
The author comes off with a condescending tone like she’s talking to all readers as though they have zero self confidence and know nothing. Much of the shared advice is dated reading like it’s 25-30 yeas ago. A must to wear pantyhose.
I really wanted to learn more about growth, being a leader, mentorship, etc. But she literally said things like, “you, yes you, can be a leader.” I would rather see a message of, “you already are a leader, let’s level up.”
This should also be listed more like a memoir of an admin. She is really just sharing her personal and professional stories. If it was pegged as sharing her stories vs preaching it would be a slight improvement in framing.
This booked brings light to my occupation. Wonderfully motivating! It helped me see my potential and gave me the courage to be me. I look at myself and my role in a new light and can be proud of what I do.
