"Do what you need to do, Ava, but don't let life be something that happens while you're looking in the other direction."
"You've gotta practive looking for the silver lining, pretty girl."
"It's easier with you," I admitted.
There was a long silence, then he simply said, "Good."

“Don’t let life be something that happens while you’re looking in the other direction.”
“So you really are just going to have an endless summer of gratification?”
He smiled widely. “It sounds even better when you say it like that.”
“He crashed into my life, like an ocean wave out of a millpond sea. He changed everything."
'Some days diamonds, some days stone.' It's about making the most of what you get in life; you know, taking the rough with the smooth.

You’re beautiful.
”So you really are just going to have an endless summer of gratification?”
He smiled widely. “It sounds even better when you say it like that.”
“Tell me about Cody Richards. What’s he really like under there?”
I poked him in his first chest, and he captured my hand, laying it over his heart.
“He’s just a regular guy.”
“You glow. You’re all glowy.”
He laughed softly. “I think that’s the loco weed talking.”
“No, it’s you. That’s what you’re like. You glow and you’re all light. Everyone sees it. You’re like sunshine—with a great ass.”
“He crashed into my life, like an ocean wave out of a millpond sea. He changed everything."
“You’re beautiful”

"It's about making the most of what you get in life;
you know, life deals you lemons so make lemonade."
"I wish I could spend a lifetime just like this," I said, happily.
"Maybe we can make a lifetime from this moment."
"You gotta practice looking for that sliver lining, pretty girl."
"It's easier with you"
"I love you to the stars and beyond."

Sometimes, God sent His message through some strangers you meet coincidentally on streets...
on the rainy days...
But the fact is...
there's no "coincidence" when it's come from God, right?

三人行必有我师
sān rén xíng bì yǒu wǒ shī
Means "where there are three men walking together, one of them must be qualified to be my teacher."

"I wish I could spend a lifetime just like this," I said, happily. This story ripped my heart out and left me with quite a few questions…none of which are really important but the answers (and a few more pages) might have made this novella so much better.
He paused before speaking again. "Maybe we can make a lifetime from this moment."
There should be a warning on this book that tells you not to read it in public. It would have saved me from trying to quietly cry my eyes out on a plane back from Book Bash while my neighbor stared at me like a crazy person. Oh and the book should also come with a pack of tissues.
Jane Harvey-Berrick is such an amazing storyteller. Even though this is a rather short novella, she evokes such emotion into her words that you can’t help but become overwhelmed by it. Within a few short paragraphs she had created a world where I felt I knew her characters intimately. Cody and Ava were so beautiful. From their unique quirks to their beautiful relationship, I enjoyed every second I spent with them.
Ava is a young woman out on her own. She’s moved away from her family and has just quit her job. She meets Cody on a rainy day while stuck in traffic. What started as a chance encounter soon develops into the most important relationship either of them has ever had. Because this novella is so short, I don’t want to give anything else away. All you need to know is that it’s a beautiful story about living life to its fullest. Oh, and also to make sure you read this book alone with a big box of tissues.
