An injured rugby star, his pregnant roommate, and one rule they can’t break: Don’t date the owner’s daughter.

It was supposed to be an easy house- and dog-sitting gig while the owner was gone for a month. But when my sportsing landlord comes home unexpectedly, injured and in need of a new arrangement, we end up as accidental roommates instead.

But if Holt Webster, the tall, thick-muscled, square-jawed, broody-eyed rugby player, had told me he played for the Copper Valley Pounders, I would’ve told him that my stepdad bought the team while I was working cruise ships overseas.

And he would’ve noped out of offering me a place to stay because the only thing worse than looking like you’re flirting with the owner’s daughter is looking like you’re hooking up with the owner’s pregnant daughter.

Yes, yes, I’m that woman—the one who accidentally got knocked up, decided to keep the baby, and had to move home because pregnancy and cruise ships aren’t a good match.

And now I’m that woman who doesn’t just look like she’s hooking up with an off-limits player. I actually am hooking up with an off-limits player. But who can blame me? He’s hot. He’s kind. And he’s spending our nights sleeping with his hand on my baby bump.

Claiming us both.

But if my dad finds out, Holt’s gone. And we’ll be…rucked.

The Roommate Mistake is a heart-tugging sports romcom featuring two people in need of new best friends, a dog with an attitude, and a very…fowl…meet-cute. It stands alone and comes complete with a found family happily ever after.
Content This book contains a character dealing with the loss of his brother to cancer.

This is my first time with this author, and I don't think she's for me. I hate this type of formatting where it's one short sentence per paragraph. I don't mind it usually but there, it's everywhere and I don't see the point. I'm not asking for 1-page paragraph either, but this trend needs to stop.
I'm also not in the mood for this type of romance. Page 2, he's already in love/lust for her when she's eating a whole-ass chicken in her car, covered in grease. And a few pages later, she pukes on someone else. Yes, she's attractive to him, but I have to believe that he didn't think one second that it was a little unsexy as hell? Wow, must be true love, then. If he's already almost in love, why is there 400 mores pages then? That's clearly not a book for me.

I have never laughed so hard while reading!!

Pippa has easily become one of my go to authors this year and I’m never disappointed. ❤️

Ziggy and Holts first interaction with her devouring a rotisserie chicken has to be the funniest meet cute I’ve read to date 😂. Their banter was so fun and I really enjoyed each character’s personalities and how well they fit together. They both are going through life changing experiences, but are able to find comfort and heal together. ❤️

The scene of spider in the shower had me LMAO and I was not expecting all that spice right after 🔥😮‍💨

Also, I’m obsessed with Jessica!!😂🐶

LOVED it. Holt being down bad for Ziggy from day one? SWOONY.

Thank you so much to the author, Pippa Grant, and Hambright PR for the finished copy. These are my honest thoughts.

I ADORED THIS STORY. I was so into it. I loved all of the elements that made this story unique, with the standard joy that I get from reading a Pippa Grant story.

Ziggy and Holt have a hilarious meet-cute, where Holt is a security guard and Ziggy is a rando girl parked in a loading zone, eating in her rental car. It just gets better from there. The author takes this story one step further by introducing some serious grief into this story, and I ate it up. Ziggy is dealing with the loss of a friendship, her best friend. Holt has his own loss he's working through and processing. And these two together? OBSESSED.

I loved the sports aspect of this almost as much as I love the culinary aspect. I loved Jessica. The side characters. The inspired support. There were just so many good things that I loved with my whole heart, it's easy to give this one 5 stars!

Read if you love:
- pregnant accidental roommate situations
- he cares for everybody
- she cares for him
- processing grief
- overbearing family
- down bad mmc
- a fmc who is discovering who she is
- potatoes
- grumpy animals
- SO MUCH CHEMISTRY
- hope

Every Pippa book instantly becomes my happy place, and this book lived up to that declaration. I laughed so hard reading this and swooned equally as much. The found family vibes and the charm have you rooting so much for these characters.

I absolutely loved listening to this book! The narrators did any amazing job bringing the characters to life and giving them a voice. They flowed so well and I didn’t want to stop listening at all.

Ziggy became pregnant while being away on a cruise ship. After she found out and the sickness she decided to return home and raise her baby. She didn’t want to have to move home so she was living temporarily in a hotel room.

Holt is a rugby player who has experienced some loss in life. He goes to play overseas and has Ziggy house/dog sit while he is away. An unexpected injury has him back home and both of them in the same space.

Jessica the dog…she is hilarious. I couldn’t help but laugh at the way she reacted to Holt and loved Ziggy. Holt is grumpy and Ziggy tries to be nice and understanding. The two have crazy chemistry, but she’s the owners daughter and off limits.

New sports romance era unlocked!

Not only was this my first rugby romance but it was also my first Pippa Grant book. It certainly will not be my last...of both! I need more of the Pounders in my life.

This book made me snort laugh from the onset. Holt and Ziggy meet under some hilarious fowl eating circumstances and he's instantly smitten. Unfortunately, Ziggy's first night on her new job doesn't go exactly as planned and she's left unemployed. Unemployed, pregnant and without a place to live. Feeling responsible for her, Holt offers her a job house and dog sitting while he spends a month away. When Holt gets injured and returns home early, the two decide to keep the arrangement going.

There was so much to love about this book. Holt is such a caregiver. I love how he's there for Ziggy, while also letting her find her way and make her own decisions.
I love how he cared for her unborn baby. Ziggy understanding what he needs and naturally caring for Holt. They were just so great together. Then there is Jessica the scene stealing French Bulldog. Plus, the Pounder teammates who were hilarious and such a found family. And let's not forget Naked Tuesdays. who could ever forget Naked Tuesdays?

I'll be going back to read book 1 of this series because I loved Fletcher and Goldie and Silas. I definitely need to read their story.

this was so fun, cute, and silly!! i’ve never read a rugby romance but pippa’s convinced me in need to start!

holt was literally perfect and ziggy was my girl!!

my favorite thing about this was that, at its core, it’s a story about grief. even though what ziggy & holt went through was different, they both experienced loss. they found a friendship and family within each other that helped them so much. not only did they form a family, they found one in holt’s teammates and goldie that was so special

ziggy & hold found each other at the perfect time & i loved getting to read their story <3

this was my first pippa book & i’m definitely excited to check out her other books!!

thank you hambright pr for the arc!!

The Roommate Mistake
by Pippa Grant

About the book 👇🏽

An injured rugby star, his pregnant roommate, and one rule they can't break…Don't date the owner's daughter.

It was supposed to be an easy house- and dog-sitting gig for Ziggy while Holt was gone for a month. But when he comes home unexpectedly, injured and in need of a new arrangement, they end up as accidental roommates. But if Holt had told Ziggy he played for the Copper Valley Pounders, she would've told him that her stepdad bought the team and the offer wouldn’t have been on the table, because the only thing worse than looking like you're flirting with the owner's daughter is looking like you're hooking up with the owner's pregnant daughter.

And now Ziggy doesn't just look like she's hooking up with an off-limits player. She is actually hooking up with an off-limits player. He’s spending nights sleeping with his hand on her baby bump. Claiming them both. But if her dad finds out, Holt's gone. And they’ll be…..rucked.

🍼🐾 My thoughts:

OK this is my first Pippa Grant book and I ATE IT UP. If I didn’t have to put kids to sleep, I would have finished this in one sitting. I was nervous at first, because it looked thick, but it definitely did not feel like a long book. This is the second book in the series and I didn’t read the first, but I can honestly say I did not feel lost at any point. It took a bit of time before it got spicy but when it was spicy, it was hot. If I had book boyfriends, Holt would be at the top of that list. Not only does he fall for ziggy but he also fell for tater tot (her baby). It’s a found family story that’ll be sure to pull at all of your strings. The Roommate Mistake is out TODAY 2/6/25!

Happy reading 📖🍼🐾

This was a good vibe kind of read!

The perfect sports romcom- add in an accidental pregnancy (the MMC isn’t the dad), a rugby player in need of a dog sitter, a quirky male- hating dog (with its own epilogue because we love her that much) and a fowl meet-cute… oh and did I mention the FMC is the owners daughter?! SO much goodness packed into this book, it had me laughing out loud, tearing up with joy and love… and just loved every minute!

After an incident, pregnant Ziggy Barnes goes to house and puppy sit for rugby player Holt Webster. She thought what an easy gig and she needs a place to stay so score! That is until Holt comes home early with an injury and very grumpy that
this job gets interesting. Now she is stuck trying to stay away from this Smexy grump and falling for a sweet puppy. Can this grouch rugby player fall for his meet cute and find a hea? Such a sweet and silly romcom. Love how Holt starts to open up and fall for both Ziggy & her baby bump. Oh and the chapter from Jessica the pup is always a plus lol. Some of our favorite former characters make cameos too. Told in first person and dual POV.

I loved the swooon of it all and there were some hilarious moments too. Would have liked to have read book 1 first but this could still be read as a standalone

This was seriously such an amazing read! There’s just so much to love in this book. This book had me laughing and kicking my feet to just melting with how sweet it was. I have to say that chicken eating part omg so so good!! Ziggy is such a favorite FMC of mine now. She’s a literal sweetheart but stands her ground when needed. Holt I absolutely fell hard for with how amazing he was in just so many ways. The texts were great and the banter was just top tier! The spider part omg great!! 🤣 then holt finally giving it to her ex best friend was just amazing and had my mouth dropped! Jessica is officially a new favorite book pet too! I totally recommend this one!

A good romance that was well written - slow burn for the first half, then it got steamy with nicely penned sex scenes. It did have a bit of drama and sad scenes, but if it didn't have that, then the characters wouldn't have been so nicely rounded out. There was lots of fun banter between both the H/h and side characters, which now that I think on it, would have been way better to listen to via audio-book. Unfortunately I was 70% through, when I realized there was an audio-book.

I enjoyed the epilogue, and as usual I read this book before I've read book one in this friends/work related series - which apparently I do have the audio for and as yet haven't listened. Sigh. There are relationship spoilers in this book for that couple's story. However, both books can be read as stand alones, but read 'Until It Was Love' first, if possible. (Both books are available in Kindle Unlimited as at 19th Feb 2025.)

Note - There were a few woke'ish' things mentioned that had me rolling my eyes, but I'm not young, so maybe they won't bother most readers. This was a fun romance that I enjoyed.

Obsessed

I discovered Pippa in 2024 and have been going through her backlog. She's the queen of banter. The queen of animal sidekicks and has a way of writing neurotic women who I should find annoying, but can't help but fall in love with. I also don't think she's written a MC that I don't consider a book boyfriend. I adore her.

This book is absolutely no different! I had the pleasure of being able to go back and forth between print and audio. I have to tell you, Kit Swan and Connor Crais did a bang job! They really brought Ziggy and Holt to life.

The way he helps Ziggy and claims Tater Tot as his even though it's not his baby is just the swooniest of all swoons. I'm normally not a fan of pregnancy tropes, but this was done in a way that was honestly just super enjoyable.

Jessica had me rolling the whole book and the fact that we actually got an epilogue from her POV really rounded out the experience of this book. Am I immediately running out to get book 1 so I can catch up on this series? Yes.

Omg what a vibe! This was so funny! How can my fave character be the dog ? I will absolutely be looking into reading more from this universe.

- accidental pregnancy (but prior to MMC)
- MMC is pro rugby player
- owners daughter
- forbidden romance
- forced proximity

No third act break up !!!

'If I could tell my brother that I found a woman going full predator on an entire rotisserie chicken in the loading zone at one of my shifts, he would’ve congratulated me on meeting my soulmate and asked when the wedding was.'

“Jessica, we do not fart at people. Especially in offices.”

'Yes. My girl. I licked her. She’s mine.'

I wasn’t completely sold on Holt the first couple of chapters, but he won me over so much! I was such a Holt fan by the end of the book. Hopefully Ziggy’s dad redeems himself a little more in the next one. I love this team, and I can’t wait to see where they go from here.

4.5 ⭐️. THIS is a proper rom com. It’s actually funny without trying too hard, has a ton of heart, and supportive main characters with all the small moments. Pippa Grant is one of my favorites! I want to go back and re-read book 1.

Dropped 1/2 ⭐️ it dragged slightly and the forbidden love trope isn’t my favorite.

💕. No third act breakup
🗣️. ALL the communication and support
👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼. H is lovable rugby player who recently lost his brother and is feeling a bit lost; h is the step daughter to a wealthy man (and owner of the rugby team) but is smart, capable and determined to make it on her own. She is also pregnant when she meets the H. Both are 31.
🏡. Good supportive family and friends, other than her step-dad, who’s over-bearing
🧨 spice starts at about 50% and is spicing
👥 dual POV, HEA. Epilogue when baby is born. No engagement but I have faith in this couple
🫣 no OW/OM drama. At all. Her baby is from a one night stand and he hasn’t been w anyone recently due to his grief over losing his brother.

Holt first meets Ziggy when he’s working part time as a security guard in the off season and he thinks she parked illegally. She’s diving face first into a rotisserie chicken. lol.

Through certain events he asks her to live in his house and take care of his cranky dog, Jessica, while he travels to Europe for 6 wks to play international rugby. He then gets injured and returns three weeks early. They don’t realize that she’s the owners daughter or that he’s even a rugby player until they’ve already developed feelings for each other. It’s a nice little twist on this trope.

Her over protective step dad has an insanely strict rule about players dating his daughters so that creates the tension in the story.

They are each also struggling with different types of grief - her the betrayal of her best friend and him, the death of his brother. It is also their travel through this grief w each other.

⭐️⭐️Here’s what I absolutely love: there is never a second where they don’t choose each other. They communicate and support each other throughout the entire story and his extended family, the team, rises to support them as well.

Tropes:
💕Forced proximity
💕Forbidden romance/bosses daughter
💕Unplanned pregnancy - she’s pregnant when they meet and he’s fully supportive from the beginning
💕 rugby player/elite athlete
💕Found family, including quirky pets

Parts I loved (in no order) - spoilers ✋
- the meet cute with the chicken and him hearing his brothers voice in his head, telling him that he should marry her
- how he protects her at that first job and then feels guilty that he didn’t help her sooner
- how she genuinely thought he was a lacrosse player lol
- the texts that she sent him while he was away
- how she upfront tells him that she’s mad when he came home 3 wks early in the middle of the night; she doesn’t take his shit but is also understanding and remains a kind person
- how she’s cooks for him his first night back even tho she’s mad and he appreciates it
- how he has always cared for everyone else in his life and how they now care for each other
- when he overhears the conversation w her mom and the breakup of her lifelong friendship, Nora - how he sits down and they openly talk about it
- the inclusion of Fletcher and Goldie from book 1
- the scene with the spider 🕷️ in the shower and when they first get together
- the ridiculous dog, Jessica
- her supportive sister, Miranda
- how he wants happy memories and love to be in his brothers house - how he flat out loves her baby before it’s even born
- when she arrives home after lunch w her parents and the whole team is there and they figure out that they’re together - how supportive and silly they are
- how whenever they’re in the same room they’re not close enough unless he’s touching her
- the confrontation at her parents house and how she stands up for Holt, no question
- how the brother, Caden, is a supportive voice in his head; it allows you to see their relationship
- when he stands up to her old friend Nora and her husband at the end

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️just how they love and choose each other over and over and talk to each other

Not my iPad dying at 34% as I was literally just finishing writing this review! Ugh! Anyways back to the review.

This book follows a pregnant woman named Iggy who has moved back to town after becoming pregnant. She’s in need of a place to live when in comes Holt who is looking for a house/dog sitter while he’s away at a rugby camp in Europe. Things take a turn when Holt is injured and has to come home early, leaving the two of them as roommates.

The setup for this book was interesting. I’m not the biggest fan of pregnancy stories but I liked how in this case Holt wasn’t the baby daddy so they hadn’t previously hooked up before and were only getting together for the baby.

I liked the first half of this book. The characters voices were very distinct from each other and I liked learning about them. Their developing romance was also sweet. Even though they were instantly attracted to one another physically, it did still take some time for feelings to develop.

I enjoyed the side characters as well along with their interactions with the main characters. The friendships present were really sweet and I also liked the sister relationship with Ziggy and her sister Miranda.

The downside of this book came during the second half. While I appreciate that this book didn’t have a third act breakup, I can’t say what we got was any better.

While the characters were written pretty well, I do wish they were a little more well rounded. We knew about their trauma and how that affected them but what was missing was their passions. Holt didn’t really feel like a rugby player. We don’t see much of how the ins and outs of that affect his life. Granted, he is injured for most of the book, but I wish we got to see why he was so passionate about rugby. Same with Ziggy and cooking. She loves it but why? I wanted to see these characters talk about their passions and explain why they love these things but it was unfortunately missing.

I also felt like the romance in second half dragged a bit. They have a pretty low stakes romance so there’s no miscommunication or anything like that to make you anxious. Before they got together, I wish we had some more scenes of them just hanging out with each other and getting to know one another better before they kissed for the first time. I also felt like from their first kiss to the end of the book, whenever they had a cute moment it almost always led to a sex scene. I’m not here saying a book can’t be smutty but what I am saying is I wish not every scene of them turned into a sex scene whether it was in detail or just quickly mentioned.

Overall, I would still say I did enjoy this book even though I’m a little let down. I do still recommend it especially if you like a more low stakes romance but some of the writing choices made did hinder my enjoyment of the book.

“Thank you for being my friend,” she whispers. “Thank you for being my everything.”

“but being afraid of losing something isn’t a reason to deny yourself the chance to be happy while you have it.”

“Believing in hope again.”

Wow. What can I say, i absolutely LOVED this book. Now one of my all time favorites, hands down.

Ziggy was relatable and I found her quite lovable and quirky. Holt was caring, kind, funny and HOT. His team made me laugh out loud on more than one occasion. (A single loud chuckle that almost woke the house when I was reading late one night may or may not have occurred…)

It didn’t have (for me) that horrible lingering sense of dread. I truly felt like they were going to figure it out and I knew they would be able to get it together even if there were challenges and that’s also what made it such a lovely book for me too. I have a hard time when that feeling is lingering in any book and this one had the amount that makes sense but also didn’t overwhelm me. Kind of like Out on a Limb in a way and not like Daydream in that sense. More so like Daydream in sense of the team and it was done even better imo. It wasn’t hard to keep the players or the side characters straight and that’s a big deal for me bc I usually mess that up big time, but it was written so well that I never had that problem to keep track of the names (unheard of for me). I felt like I could truly enjoy them along with the story. I loved all of the side characters and pray that they all get a book too. “Most loved baby ever.”

Perfect amount of smut, love, respect and I can’t say enough about this book. It was hot & sweet and I loved it. Beginning had a weird start, but I am glad I didn’t let the chicken stop me. (Iykyk)

Was not just solely dirty talk with language in his pov (that would turn me off the entire time and I appreciated that.) Don’t get me wrong though, he can get it; but it’s not like he was a complete perv like some mmc POV’s I find are all the time. They also truly care for one another. It actually brought tears to my eyes on more than one occasion (while also making me laugh and being super hot.)

Each last line/paragraph chunks of the chapters are all pure writing gold. I think every last bit has me feeling all the feels. Some of those final paragraphs had me really crying fr.

He’s always taking care of everyone else but this time gets his happy ending. I had an embarrassing amount of tears but also little laughs through them, and beautiful writing like that is all you really can ask for in a book.

Overall shortened thoughts in review : I am in love!! A real respect and love for each other, even when they are going through tough times. You can tell that they just truly see them as the person that they are and I appreciate that so much and the care of them being good people and in love just truly shines through. Almost gives Out on a Limb and Daydream vibes all in one? What a beautiful book. The team was so freaking funny. Thank you so very dearly for sending me a copy. Such a supportive and beautiful found family with fun loving crazy men and it’s wonderful. They just give eachother true happiness, company and love. And it’s so beautiful

Also… now I want a cherry hand pie.

This is a book I feel like I wanted to read all in one sitting because I just loved it so much. So real. So true. SO funny. so hot.

“It doesn’t matter if he looks like me. He’s my son. My chosen family. Just like his mama.”

I can always count on Pippa Grant to bring the laughs, swoon, and heart. The opening scene in this book had me laughing so hard. An entire rotisserie chicken? LOL! Holt and Ziggy's story is a fun one. Holt is a rugby player for the Copper Valley Pounders and does some event security during the off-season. Ziggy is single, pregnant, unemployed, and back at home after working on cruise ships. Holt is preparing to head overseas to start his new rugby season, so he offers Ziggy the opportunity to house and dog sit for him. After suffering an injury, Holt finds himself back home and in a roommate situation with Ziggy. As they spend time together, feelings develop, and sparks fly.

I adored Holt and Ziggy! Their chemistry is sizzling and the banter is truly top-tier. It was easy to fall in love with them. Holt has a tough exterior but underneath he has a heart of gold. He has been through a lot and is grieving a huge loss. He opens his heart to Ziggy and falls head over heels for her and her unborn child. I can't get over how perfect they were for each other. Holt and Ziggy helped each other heal and it was beautiful.

This book has an addictive plot, relatable main characters, hilarious team antics, and fun family shenanigans. There are also some deeper emotional elements that give the characters depth. Of course, the story would not be complete without an adorable, scene-stealing pet. Jessica, the sassy French Bulldog, was definitely a highlight. I thoroughly enjoyed this forced proximity, roommates to lovers, forbidden romance.

Narration:
Kit Swann and Connor Crais perform this audiobook using dual-style narration. They were the perfect voices for Ziggy and Holt. Kit and Connor were a fun narrating duo to listen to and their performances exponentially enhanced my experience with this story. Both portrayed the characters well and brought the characters to life. I could feel every emotion.

Thanks to Pippa Grant and Hambright PR for the gifted ebook, audiobook, and physical copy. Opinions expressed are my own.

They both did an excellent job bringing these characters to life. I felt their pacing and tone were perfect also. Connor brought so much feeling and warmth to his character and Kit was perfection as Ziggy. Excellent performance by both!

Book two in the series can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. Because Fletcher and Goldie (book 1) are prominent characters in this story, readers may find it most enjoyable to read that book first. This is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.
Holt is a hero that is easy to fall in love with. He is a sensitive soul who is grieving the loss of his brother and doing his best to get on with life. Ziggy has just returned home to Copper Valley after becoming pregnant and being unable to do her job well in that condition. She is grieving the loss of the friendship she believed she had and that her reality of that friendship wasn’t quite true.
This was a funny, emotional, steamy romance that I didn’t want to put down. I adored both characters. I really liked that they did not have a third act breakup. When they decided they were going to be together, they both went all-in. Holt is so loving to Ziggy and the way he sees her baby as his totally melted me. I wanted to stay in this world forever.
I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book.

THE ROOMMATE MISTAKE (Book 2 of the Copper Valley Pounders) by Pippa Grant is a heart-tugging rugby romcom featuring two people in need of new best friends, a dog with an attitude, and a very…fowl…meet-cute. It stands alone and comes complete with a found family and happily ever after. When sommelier Ziggy came home from working on cruise ships to have her accidental baby, she got fired on her first night at a new job. Holt, the Rugby player working security that night, felt guilty and offered her the chance to house and dog sit for him while he was at Rugby camp in Europe. When he broke his foot and came home early, he asked Ziggy to stay on because he needed help. Due to some miscommunication, neither of them realized until too late that Ziggy’s step father owned the rugby team for which Holt was team captain, and he had a very firm “hands off my daughters” policy. Given the overwhelming attraction between Holt and Ziggy, Holt was between a rock and a hard place. Was he more at risk of being traded or fired if he kicked his team owner’s pregnant stepdaughter out of his house or if she stayed? This was a really sweet story about two people who so well suited for each other, both grieving the loss of their best friends and in a need of new ones. Their connection was near instantaneous and their chemistry was unmatched. They were a match made in heaven and they truly needed each other. Their unwavering support for each other was inspiring and the found family aspect of the story was heartwarming. The dual POV audiobook was engaging and extremely well narrated by Kit Swann and Connor Crais. I definitely recommend this spicy roommates to lovers, accidental pregnancy, found family, forbidden romance book for readers/listeners who enjoy sports romcoms with the tropes listed. This ebook is available in the kindleunlimited program.

I would like to thank Hambright PR for providing this ARC/ALC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Story Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (0-5)
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧 (0-5)
Overall: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (0-5) but more like ♾️ 🌟
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 (0-5) and deliciously detailed!

What I’m Starry-Eyed Over:
🤩 It’s so swoony when the MCs are really cute together and hot at the same time!! And, wow, these narrators ( Kit Swann and Connor Crais) deliver the cute and hot magnificently! They accentuate all the chemistry (and moods) between these characters. ❤️‍🔥🫠
🤩 LOL hilarious from the start! Oh my gosh, what a meet-cute/meet-ugly for Holt and Ziggy!
🤩 And while it’s truly laugh-out-loud funny, the hurt/trauma in the MCs is deep, giving the reader so much longing for them to love and comfort and be loved and cared for.
🤩 Dual POV is so good when the characters are pretty closed-off to each other at first, but the reader gets the deep feelings and understanding for each MC.
🤩 The writing in the long-distance text chats is so captivating and clever.
🤩 The pregnancy hormones are written so well (not his baby) as well as all that attraction in the forced proximity—secret pining is my favorite. 🥵
🤩 When (and how) the situation becomes forbidden—player and team owner’s daughter.
🤩 It’s so swoony when the MCs are really cute and hot at the same time!! 😍🌶️
🤩 Great side characters, but I especially adored Miranda and the step-sister love.
🤩 Caden’s voice in Holt’s head is precious and perfect.
🤩 Jessica the dog—dog lovers, you will be so very smitten! And that bonus epilogue—what entertainment!
🤩 I just adored it and very much enjoyed it from start to finish!

What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About:
💫 I definitely need more Pippa Grant in my life.

MY FAVORITE “NOT HIS BABY” BOOK I’VE EVER READ !!

Holt is still grieving the loss of his little brother, along with everyone else who weird passes in his life, but is still doing such a fantastic job as the captain of the copper valley pounder rugby team .. even with a now broken foot . While Ziggy has just moved back to her hometown after finding out she is pregnant from a random one night stand and the man is not in the picture . Holt is also a total grump with a heart of gold, has a dog named Jessica who hates all men, and who is letting Ziggy stay in his house until she gets settled again . Ziggy is hilarious, has always wanted to be a mom, doesn’t want to live with her parents because of “naked tuesdays”, and isn’t supposed to date ANY rugby player because her step-dad owns the team . But a secret relationship never hurt anybody . Oh and did I mention that Holt LOVES to eat .. if you get my drift (;

This audiobook is book two in the Copper Valley Pounders Rugby series and can be listened to as a complete standalone .

Holt and Ziggy

Another terrific book by Pippa!

A unique meet cute, forbidden relationship, sports romance - what's not to love? And don't forget a dog with more intelligence and personality than some people!

I loved this book from beginning to end. Holt is one of my favorite male characters that I have ever read and I have read a ton of books! He was so in tune with Ziggy, seemed to know what she wanted or rather needed before she even did.

Ziggy was somewhat of a train wreck but her heart was in the right place and much if what happened in her recent past wasn't even her fault. This made her story even more entertaining. I didn't want her to suffer though, I wanted her to get everything she wanted and more. A job she loved, a family of her own, along with a husband and friends - most of all to be happy. She may have gotten more but
you'll have to read the book to find out. If you enjoy romcoms with strong female characters, then this book is for you too!

I loved this book so much! It is classic Pippa Grant with laugh out loud moments, sweet and quirky characters, and a great romance all wrapped into one great story.

I knew I was going to enjoy the book from the very beginning. Holt and Ziggy's meet cute was hilarious and adorable, and I loved that we got to see it through his POV. Both of them were likeable and fun characters who quickly became two of my favorite characters from Pippa ever.

The story moves at a good pace with great banter and nicely paced character and relationship development. I love that Pippa is doing a rugby series. She did a great job with her hockey and baseball series, and I like getting to stay in the Copper Valley world but with a new sport and team.

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
