Writing Daddy Dom romance is my job. Leading the Naughty Girls Book Club, where we swoon over possessive alpha males? That’s just a bonus. But finding a real-life Daddy Dom? That only happens in my books.
At least, that’s what I thought—until KC, my gruff, Army Special Forces neighbor, knocks on my door with a ridiculous request. His meddling mother is coming to town, and he needs a fake girlfriend to keep her from setting him up with someone appropriate. In exchange, he’ll take me to my favorite bookstore for a shopping spree—because apparently, the way to my heart is through romance novels and bribery.
I say yes, but I’m not prepared for how real KC makes this arrangement feel. The way he grips my waist in public, how he leans down and murmurs warnings in my ear when I get too sassy. And when his mother jokingly asks how he keeps me in line, KC just smirks and tells her, Don’t worry, I have my ways.
Oh.
Maybe playing pretend isn’t such a great idea after all—especially when I find myself breaking his rules on purpose, just to see if he’ll follow through. Spoiler he does. And when I end up over his knee, gasping as he makes good on his promise to correct my bratty behavior? Yeah… I might be in trouble.
Because KC isn’t just acting the part anymore. And the scariest thing?
Neither am I.
Daddy’s Naughty Author is a spicy, laugh-out-loud Daddy Dom romance featuring a sassy author, a strict alpha male who knows how to handle his naughty girl, and a virtual book club full of women who just knew Rebecca’s real-life Daddy would show up eventually. Buckle up, baby girl—this Daddy is real.
This could've been better it was a fun read. But I couldn't feel the love between them in this novella.
Rj is a romance writer who writes daddy dom books and has a crush on her next-door neighbor. Kc, who asks her to pretend to be his gf for his mother. The relationship is talked about and mentioned things they've done off page. And the date With the mom was okay not alot. Idk why it's a daddy dom. He only spanked her once and was called daddy one time. In this whole book. He did have a moment of wanting to push her away. So he didn't feel alpha enough for me.
The ending was confusing for me because he went on an emergency thing and didn't call or inform her she was worried, and when he answered, it was all okay. Not very boyfriend of you. No epilogue or anything
No ow/om drama, no cheating, sexy time, no virgins
Recommend-maybe Cover-⭐️⭐️ Heat level-🌶

DNF @ 37%. This was pretty cheesy and trope-tastic (in a fun way!) but I decided it was too self-insert for me, since the FMC's name is RJ and she's a romance writer, as is the author of this actual book.
This book had me hooked with the first page!!!! Rj the fmc had me laughing at her silly witty banter and smiling at the cuteness of the story ,deffo loved KC being a hot alpha daddy. Such a good read most deffo would recommend
There was more talk of what he “did” or “would do” but never went in detail of anything. So you don’t feel any type of connection between these characters. Yes, I understand this was a novella and just a short quick read, but where’s the mini build up? The connection?
This was listed as “buy now for free” on Amazon…now I see why.
Would I recommend this book to you? …absolutely not.
That was so much fun! At least part of why I adore fake relationship stories is because we all know that no matter how hard the leading couple is trying to resist, what’s between them won’t stay fake for long. A problem/opportunity RJ and KC faced. (And don’t even get me started with how delighted I was over some of the character names.) I loved seeing these two fall for each other and the tender way KC looked out for RJ made my heart flutter. Even when they were at their spiciest, this pair was so stinking cute that I’m not ready to let go of them. I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the series at least partly in the hopes that these two will be making cameo appearances. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.
A super new series...A fake relationship to convince his Mother that he is capable to find his own girlfriend. All is not as it seems. A joyful must read.
If I could give Daddy’s Naughty Author more than five stars, I would! This book is everything—steamy, hilarious, and absolutely unputdownable. Rebecca and KC’s chemistry is off the charts, and their fake relationship quickly turns into something so much more deliciously real. KC is the ultimate gruff, possessive, alpha Daddy Dom, and every time he murmured a warning or smirked with that knowing look, I melted. Rebecca is witty, sassy, and just the right amount of bratty to keep him on his toes. Their banter had me giggling, their tension had me swooning, and when KC followed through on his promises? Whew… let’s just say this book delivers. The Naughty Girls Book Club adds the perfect touch of humor and sisterhood, making this story even more fun. And that bookstore shopping spree? Literal bookish dream come true! If you love fake relationships that turn into something toe-curlingly real, dominant heroes who know how to take charge, and a romance that’s equal parts spicy and sweet—this book is a must-read. Daddy’s Naughty Author set my Kindle on fire, and I am so ready for the next installment in the Naughty Girls Book Club series! 😍🔥
This was a cute, quick read. RJ is a romance author; KC is in the military. KC made up a girlfriend to keep his mom at bay, but she decided that she wanted to meet the fictitious girlfriend. This is where RJ comes into play. She has been just a neighbor for quite a while, but RJ decides to help KC. While the two pretend to be a couple, they actually become one.
I enjoyed the story, and I like the book club that RJ has created to help her write books. I look forward to reading the following books featuring each book club member. Great story!
I enjoy reading DD/lg books, but lately it seems like it's more sex than interesting content. This is one that didn't go overboard on the hot, sexy, explicit scenes, ones you'd find in a BDSM club. I like to be able to think about the characters and their life, and not just about the sex. Don't get me wrong, A good sexy scene can be quite hawt. R. J. Gray is an author I can get behind.
Well-written story. As I got further into this book, in my opinion not much Daddy Dom about the MMC. Actions with the FMC are too cutesy. Just an FYI to the readers looking for steam…this is maybe a 1-2 🌶️. So, in my opinion, this is more of a sweet romance with a serving of Daddy Dom.. put your coat in or you’ll be punished type of thing with a spanking or two.
Rebecca and Kevin - RJ and KC - are neighbours. A fake relationship is required for his visiting mother, and FMC is keen! Quiet broody soldier next door is quite the book boyfriend come to life. Short - easily could have been longer with more character development and story, but enjoyable for an easy quick read. An attentive partner, my gosh!
This was a fun, quick read about an author who happens to live next door to a guy who is real life book boyfriend material! RJ thought her books were just fairytails until she meets KC. It's fun to watch their story unfold. I love the storyline of this series and I'm looking forward to reading the other book club girls stories too!
This is a sweet fake dating daddy dom romance. RJ and KC are neighbors and haven't talked much before KC admit that he needs a fake girlfriend because his mother is coming to town to meet her. RJ is a author and is more than happy to be KCs fake girlfriend and get some experience she can write about.
It's not a super spicy book but it has some spanking and sexy times.
Fun & quirky! I was confused at first as to why the author was using her own name for the main character -it honestly made me think I was reading fanfic or something- but it was fun! I really enjoyed all the characters. I loved the pacing. It’s got decent editing with only a few mistakes. I liked it enough to want to read the next one!
Super disappointing. My biggest thing is the book is only 71 pages before it goes into the next book which I hate. The book itself is a letdown. I was going for more spice and it really didn’t deliver. I didn’t really fall in love with either character. I won’t be reading anymore by this author. They just didn’t make me want to read more.
Cute, one sitting read with a nice amount of steam and a growly alpha! It starts with fake dating, but ends of being so, so much more. Loved the online book club too. Just enough of a read to wet your appetite and definitely craving more from this couple.
Daddy Naughty Author is just the cutest read. RJ. And KC make the perfect fake then real couple. How their relationship starts, builds and then morphs into something real is the cutest and funniest read. It’s a quick funny and romantic read!
Short but sweet. A great start to a new series. If you like fake relationships that become real this one should be added to your list. The characters are loveable and they don't get caught in the lie. Can't wait for the next one.
What a cute story. What starts out as a fake "relationship" for KC's mom turns into more than KC and RJ even thought about. I really enjoyed this and was able to read it in just a few hours since it's on the shorter side. Now I can't wait for the next book in the series!
But the end was a bit abrupt for my taste. The flow of getting from friends to lovers was just right. I thought he was written very well, no over emphasis on the military side.
