Fascinating book. I really liked all the thorough drawings of all the elements. It helped that I´d visited Paris just before buying this book, so I´d already seen plenty of gothic churches. I really liked that the book build up chronologically, also detaillling the roles of the different workers during the building. The ´example cathedral´ also helped a lot to clarify and put it in sequence.
Recommended for anyone who´s interested in church architecture and - history!

Excellent work! Informative and accessible. Great sketches and illustrations, too.

This book creates a dilemma for me: to tear it apart and tape the pages all over my walls, or leave this beautiful volume intact.

This is a lovely and delightfully well-organised basic explanation of everything that went into the construction of Medieval cathedrals.

Echt wel de moeite. Vooral ook door de uitklapbare platen.
