Alone
The US is in shambles. Society has collapsed and people struggle to survive in small communities. The west is wild again, with scavengers and raiders willing to kill for any reason or no reason.

best book!!
This is one of the best reads I’ve read in quite a while!! Kept me engaged and hard to put down; even when I had to work in the morning!!

a little slow to start - be patient
This story starts with the female MC - alone. For a good part of the book. But I feel like this was necessary to have understanding of how important it was when someone came into her life and what a challenge that was going to be for her. This story does have a lot of faith and prayer and includes thoughtful consideration of where God is leading - Which I absolutely love. And it does have a happily ever after. So I highly recommend this and I am reading other books from the author now.

This book was different than other books of faith I have read but not in a bad way. It was about hardships, trials, loneliness, and taking care of yourself on your own. She always had faith in God, trusted his plan, might not have understood why things happen to her the way they did. I loved the ending and the authors notes at the end.

Did you ever have one of those books you stayed up most of the night to read, because you couldn't stop until the end! That was me at the end of Alone by Elizabeth Nadler. In all honesty, I thought it was a slow start but I encourage readers - hang on and keep reading because it doesn't take long and you won't want to put it down! Her story line is strong, though it was difficult for me to grasp on to at first. The thought of a devastating war in the US that takes the country back to days like the wild west? And then you find yourself walking a journey with a woman who has lost everything but her home, and she is totally alone... Her plot is strong. Her character development is strong. Yes, there is some language but it is not horrible. And the character immediately recognizes when she slips. I enjoyed this book.

Beautiful book! I can see why it won an award.
In the beginning, the main character is all alone, heartbreakingly so. She had a family once. What became of them is eventually revealed. But at first, we don’t even know her name, because no one uses it. And that’s just two of many mysteries to be discovered along the way. The off grid struggles in this book seem so realistic. The character’s struggle to understand God’s purpose for her life is very relatable. And her faith through every painful event is inspiring.
Filled with suspense, romance, faith, and triumph, this story captured my heart!

This is a Christian story with characters that feel real and relatable, not overly spiritualized. The author captures genuine emotions, everyday habits, and the kind of struggles many of us face—especially during a season that feels a lot like the story of Job.
I truly loved the storyline. I laughed with the characters, cried during their hardest moments, and felt connected to their journey. The emotions were raw and sincere, which made the story even more meaningful. I would definitely read more from this author.

Beautiful......
If I could give this 10 stars I would. Such a sad but happy story too, that I couldn't put down. I recommend everybody to read this book as it really is very beautiful.

5 stars for Alone just doesnt seem like enough, it deserves so much more. This story had everything I look for in a great book, suspense, romance, faith, heartbreak, and a total win. It completely captured my heart from beginning to end.
I laughed, I cried more than once, and by the time I reached the ending, my heart was so full. It was one of those books that was simply difficult to put down, even though I knew I had to get up and sign in for work the next morning. Every time I set it aside, I couldn't wait to pick it back up.
In recent years, this has become one of my favorite genres, and Elisabeth Nadler handled it beautifully. The writing was heartfelt and engaging, and I loved that the characters stayed true to their values no matter what challenges they faced. Their faith, strength, and integrity made them feel authentic and gave the story so much depth.
This is up there as one of the best books I've read in 2026, and I can easily see myself reading it again someday. I will be recommending it to anyone who enjoys an emotional, inspiring story with unforgettable characters.

too much god stuff, it was just weird, i love survival books, but i just was like no not this one, waaaaay to much other crap in it, not a good survival one either

This took me a long time to get through very slow moving. Not sure how I feel about it... I had to push myself to get through it but then the ending was sweet so then I kind of liked it 🤷🤦
