Lainey Ambrose was loved by the people of Calaway Crossing. Being the only nurse at the clinic, she’d seen most of them at their worst, yet she always had a smile and a kind word. Along with Dr. Calaway, she was a town staple.
When the new deputy came to town to replace her cousin, Clementine, Lainey and her three sisters all found him cute and interesting. Not too many people moved to the tiny town. So, a stranger who also happened to be cute and interesting drew their attention.
But after spending time with Deputy Chase Kimbal, Lainey was happy to let one of her sisters have him. He was too serious for her. All business and no play. She could barely get him to smile.
Fresh out of the academy, Chase was assigned to work under Chief Booker Rafferty. He knew the town was small, but Calaway Crossing had a population of seven hundred. That was too small. How was he supposed to gain experience in a town with virtually no crime?
He knew the Ambrose sisters were interested in him. But he was determined to stay single. Besides, if they were all as annoying as Lainey, he wasn’t interested in dealing with that.
But love tends to find its way in Calaway Crossing, no matter how much the two parties try to fight it.
Lainey is the first book in the Ambrose Girls of Calaway Crossing series. It is a companion series to the Calaway Crossing series.
Leigh Spends her days with cute, sexy guys. Unfortunately, they’re on paper. But still, not a bad way to spend your day. She also writes about strong, independent women who can hold their own against these irresistible guys. She’s not a pure romance writer because she breaks the rules a bit. But that’s the fun part. Leigh’s stories have adventure, family relationships, and the struggles life throws at you sometimes. But boy always meets girl. They tussle a bit while they figure out what they really want. Then find their happily ever after, even though it might not be what they thought it was going to be. But the most amazing thing about this is, she does it all with a dog on her lap. Her muse may not be one of her book boyfriends. But a cute dog is the next best thing.
This book held my interest. Lainey was a nurse, worked with Corbyn, the doctor. The Callays and the Ambrose family were prominent members of this small town. Chase was new to the town and a deputy /paramedic. Laniey and he had few Rubin’s in the beginning, enjoy their finding love.
Please keep writing Calaway stories! Please! They are so fun and relaxing to read and they just need to keep coming! Chase and Lainey were great! Lovely story. Thank you!
Really enjoyed Lainey and Chase’s story but there are some continuity problems if you’ve read the Calloway Crossing series. Cooper and his wife had a daughter, not a son named Zeke, and Wynter’s inn isn’t called the Mineshaft, but the Motherlode. Also, there are so many punctuation errors. Better editing is needed.
Such a wonderful town with relatable people who know how to experience life. After a rough start Lainey catches the deputy’s eye and off they go. Totally love the story.
I enjoyed book in 1 this series watching Chase and Lainey finding their HEA. I'm looking forward to reading book 2 in this series. I will definitely recommend this book to everyone.
