She thought moving to a small town would be easy until she met Silas.
Nova
I have lived my entire life in New York City, dreaming of the day I could move to a small mountain town. A new job in Jasper, CO, launched my new life, only to be met by Silas, the grumpiest person ever. He won’t be able to prevent me from fulfilling my dream of living here. His hatred fueled a fire in me, a defiant joy in proving him wrong.
Silas
The day the city girl moved to town, my life was ruined. Not only is she new here, but she is my mate. The problem? She is human. I don’t have time to deal with the upcoming mating heat when I have to worry about the debt to the Ghost River Pack. Now, if I could only stop the meddling of Gail, the matriarch of our pack, I would be golden.
Rocky Mountain Pack is a cozy shifter romance with spice. The series is full of cozy warm feelings and a meddling grandmother. Each book features a new couple and is interconnected to the other books in the series.
Author of cozy shifter romance with a spicy bite, I love crafting worlds where quirky town names are just the beginning. Get ready to meet meddling grandmothers who know best, and wolves with hearts of gold (and a little bit of sass). I've been lost in stories since I first learned to read, always dreaming up new tales until one finally refused to be ignored!

When Nova, a big city girl, finally gets to explore her dreams of living in a small town, she thought everything would be sunshine and delicious pancakes. Only the local small town head honcho keeps trying to scare her off. Silas recently took over as the pack’s alpha and with debt looming over his head threatening the lives and virtues of his pack, the last thing on his mind is finding his mate… well until he does. Now all he wants is to scare her off to protect her. Will the two ever see eye to eye? Or will they need a little help from a conniving grandmother to see their fate was always inescapable?
Thoughts: I adored this book! It’s so cozy and fluffy and feel good while maintaining the best parts of romance (think Hallmark if it explored into relationships further than just a peck). If you’re looking for a good pick-me-up this wintry season check out this book!!
Before I begin I want to thank the author, Liza Bee, for giving me this ARC.
I don't think I'm the right person for this book. I really liked the blurb and the tropes but I just didn't like the book. I tried to like it. When I started reading this the first thing that bothered me was the way this was written. I tried to brush it off but it just really didn't get better. Sometimes when you read a book you just need to get used to the authors writing style and when then reach 30% in it just clicks. That didn't happened to me. Mabey it just needed more to develop. I don't know I'm not a writer I'm just a girl who reads a lot of books.
I liked the characters but I would've liked to have read more about the dynamics with the pack and the girls (Aspen, Willow, and Hazel). Gail was definitely my favorite. And I hope she'll be in the next books.
Overall I think this just need some time. The base/idea is good and I'll probably read the next book because I want to read more about the girls and Gail. Also I think this has potential to be great.
Silas and Nova have a rough start. Silas is a new Alpha who has no time for a mate and Nova is a girl from a big city who wants to experience small town life. When she happens to be fated mate to Silas he becomes even grumpier because she is human and he doesn’t have time to teach her about wolf shifters. But the meddling grandma has other plans to make sure Nova becomes their Luna
Y’all this was a unique fast paced take on wolf shifter romances complete with big city girl who always dreamed of the small town life, broody new alpha of the pack with zero time for distractions and even a meddling grandma to boot.
Silas and Nova start off rocky when he’s Mr grumpy treating her pretty bad but he changes his tune after said meddling grandma pushes them into a high stakes forced proximity situation!
I will say read the trigger warnings cause this is a wolf shifter romance so there are things present in the bedroom that aren’t present in certain books 😈 which I personally am here for!
For me this was a quick read and a strong 4 ⭐️ read with a solid 3🌶️ for the extra *ink unlocked! Go forth and enjoy I will be checking out more from this author
"Silas" is a super cozy shifter romance. I loved all of the parts exploring the day to day life of the Rocky Mountain Pack, the cute town of Jasper, and the interesting folks that live there. I just want more of the build between Silas & Nova and Storm & Nyx. Looking forward to future books in the series!
After accepting a job offer, NYC girl Nova moves to a small town in Colorado. The people there are friendly and welcoming, except one guy who is downright rude. As luck would have it, Nova and Silas keep bumping into each other. Silas, the alpha of his pack, recognized Nova as his mate, but she's human. Deciding to give in to his wolf's demands, he attempts to make up for his actions with a second chance date. With a rival pack breathing down his neck, Silas has to try balancing his human mate, his alpha duties, and the approaching full moon. Nova's not going to make it each for him, but he wouldn't have it any other way.
This was a cute small town shifter romance. Silas and Nova got off to a rocky start, but it works out for them in the end. Those chase scenes were something else, though. I love how he was so devoted to her, even when he was active trying to ignore Nova. His meddlesome pack elder certainly helped push things along. The pack and town were full of unique characters that I'd love to explore more of. This is definitely a deceptively cute but spice-filled treat you won't want to miss!
Nova had a pretty quiet life in the busy NYC until she wanted a change and took a job in a small town doing what she loves. Quickly after she moves, she is in for something life changing. Silas knew right away but he was dealing with other business he didn’t know how to handle both. Their journey was lovely to read and enjoyed the end and hopefully this isn’t the end of their story!
🐺shifter romance 🐺alpha x human 🐺 fated mates 🐺found family 🐺small town 🐺shifter spice! (Human/human and human/half-shifted) 🐺primal chasing 🐺”yes sir” and “good girl” 🐺pov of the wolf too!
This was fast fun and spicy as hell. All the spice 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨 the half shifted scenes 🫠🥵 Nova was living my literal dream!!! And I love that when Silas shifted we would get Storms pov! I flew thru this in a single sitting!!!
I can’t wait for book 2 and every other book that follows this pack!!!!
The dedication in this book couldn’t be more true, I felt all the cosy vibes with this story. It was a cute shifter romance with some spicy scenes that’ll make you blush 😏
What a cozy, feel-good, a wolf shifter romance, with some spice. What more can you ask for? If you love a good chase, then this book is for you. If you love a good chase, don't look any further. You'll thank me later. What a slow burn, but it's worth it in the end.
Silas becomes alpha of the pack, and his first mission is to find a fated mate, except when he finally finds her, he pushes her away. He is trying to protect her, but the bound runs deep, and well, they can only run away from it for so long."Run, little wolf. Run." Silas is rough around the edges, but deep down, he is a gentle wolf.
"You look good enough to eat little wolf."
I can't wait to see what happens next. I'll be here waiting for book 2.
This was such a fun read. The banter between Nova and Silas was so good. Silas was initially an asshole to Nova for two reasons: one, he thought she was a pretentious city girl and couldn't fathom why his faded mate was a human. But he quickly learned she was not what he thought she was, and his Wolf Storm and Gail, the local grandmother, made him see the light whether he wanted to or not. Eventually, he won Nova over, and they became the cutest couple.
I loved this cozy small town romance. It was my first shifter romance and I think I am now a fan! There were parts of it where I literally laughed out loud while reading - the banter between Silas and Storm is unmatched!
I devoured this book…the chemistry between Nova and Silas was amazing (hello slow burn!), the lovely meddling grandma Gail that you can’t help but love…not to mention I can’t wait to read Warrick’s story next! I could literally picture the town of Jasper and its restaurants and shops with their cute names.
I will be waiting patiently for Book #2 in the Rocky Mountain Pack series. Thank you so much Liza for letting me ARC read your debut book!
Silas is a wolf shifter who just became alpha of his pack and now must clean up the mess the previous alpha created. He doesn’t have time for dating or a mate, but we don’t always get what we want, but rather what we need. Enter Nova, a city girl with the heart of the country in her. She accepts a teaching position in a small country town like she has always dreamed of. She also happens to be Silas’ mate and a human. I thought this book had a great story line and a lot of potential. I feel like as the author grows in her writing her books will be fire! I will definitely be reading the next book in the series.
This is a paranormal romance with shifters. The story is good it keeps you engaged, but there are a few details that it threw me off like the alpha purring, which is used on omegas, but overall, great read.
A short wolf shifter romance. The book is set in a small town with some funny and punny business names, the main characters get off on the wrong foot with mmc being quite rude and has to earn his second chance. The meddling nana figure was one of my favourite parts and I love the little wolf art header at the top of a new chapter, this was my first shifter romance and I’m still learning if they’re something I like to read about or not.
🐺Wolf Shifter Romance ❤️ Human x Wolf 🏘️Small town romance ❤️🔥 Forced proximity 👥Fated Mates 👵🏼Meddling Grandmother 👃 Scent Marking 👫Big City Girl x Small Town Guy ❄️Snowed In
Thank you to Liza Bee and Happily Booked PR for this ARC 💋
If grumpy/sunshine is your favorite trope, READ THIS BOOK. Nova (FMC) and Silas (MMC) are the absolute definition of grumpy/sunshine! And just wait until you meet Gail, she is perfection and you can’t help but love her, she had me in fits of giggles anytime she was up to her meddling ways! I also love a good fated mates trope and this book eats that trope up! As much as Nova and Silas try to avoid the other, the pesky pull of that bond, aka fate, has other plans and there is nothing they can do about it! The characters are so lovable and the dynamic between the humans and their wolves is so good. The way Liza writes about the cozy little town the story takes place in will have you wanting to move there yourself! I can’t wait to read book 2 and find out more about Warrick and his story!
I immediately want more of this series after finishing Silas and Nova's story! It was such a cute and cozy shifter story with the perfect balance of suspense and spice!
I love that these two start off on the wrong foot! I don't know what it is about an MMC who panics and pushes the FMC away, but I loved it! I loved it even more that Nova pushed right back and wouldn't stand down!
I definitely recommend to anyone who loves shifter stories! I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out!
Adorable small town shifter romance. Absolutely loved this book. I hope there’s more I’d love to get lost in another. The page are is so cute, a lovely touch.
Just finished reading the most captivating book! 😍 The characters' connection had me hooked from page one. So much drama and spice between them! 🔥 Seriously, I couldn't put it down. Anyone else feeling the book hangover? 😫 #booklover #mustread #romance
What to expect: - wolf shifter romance - small town - forced proximity - fated mates - meddling grandmother - snowed in - big city girl x small town guy
this was such a fun and quick read. and definitely on the spicier side too.
i love me a wolf shifter book. and the heat between the two main characters had me incapable of looking away from my tablet. i ate this book up.
i do wish it was longer as well as i wanting more of nova and silas's relationship as well as a little more time in town getting to know all the different characters. but i loved it nonetheless. i am absolutely looking forward to the next book in this series. i can't wait for warrick's story
thank you happilybookedpr and liza bee for gifting me this e-arc to review
Silas is a cozy paranormal romance book about a new teacher, Nova, moving from New York City to Colorado for her first job. What she doesn't know is that the town is mainly a wild shifter pack along with some humans and other paranormal shifters. She meets new alpha Silas and he instantly knows she's his mate but is rude or her because she's human and doesn't want that bond. When Gail, the pack matriarch and town grandma gets involved, Silas does all he can to get Nova to like him. His wolf is ready to complete the mating bond and tries to go rogue to complete it. Silas is also dealing with another pack that the former alpha had some shady business with. Will Nova accept Silas as her mate? Will she become a wolf shifter?
This is my first book from Liza Bee and I can’t wait for more of her work. We are following Nova who has always wanted to move to a small town. Silas just took over the pack and has a lot on his mind so he doesn't have time when he realizes she is his mate. I love their banter while they are trying to figure things out. I want Gail as a grandmother, she is a great character with her meddling. I look forward to seeing what's next in the series.
Super Cute! Super fun and cozy! Just an all around good feels read! Loved the building and the tension between Nova and Silas! And OMG I LOVE the dynamic between Silas and Storm! I am a huge supporter and fan of the animal and human being somewhat separate entities and having all the banter between them! Loved the wolf!
Ummm Hello Silas 👀……I was not expecting that after all the coziness for most of the book and I am not complaining on bit at all. Definitely needed a cold shower! 🥵 I’m excited to get to know Warrick better in the next book!!
Silas was a one sitting read for me, I flew through the pages. It was a cute, fast pace shifter story about a new pack alpha and a human teacher. It had great side characters and the town is definitely a cute, quirky sounding place. This was my first time reading a Liza Bee book and I would like to thank her for the arc copy. I voluntarily leave my review and plan to read more about The Rocky Mountain Pack.
I really enjoyed this read! It’s a cozy, spicy, wolf shifter, small town romance. This was such a lighthearted, cozy read that had me invested in the characters from the very beginning. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series when it releases.
Great read. Silas and Nova are perfect together. The first 3/4 of the book keeps you laughing at these two. The one liners between the two and their comments to others make this one a quick read.
The issues within the pack and the new Alpha, learning his way, moves the story right a long. Keeps you vested.
The length of the mating period between the two had me skipping some pages. When it gets into more than a chapter long, I lose interest. Other than that, a great start to a new pack for us to follow.
This was such a cute, quick, and cozy shifter romance! Perfect for when you need something light and easy to break up those heavier reads. 🫶
We follow Nova, who is all sunshine and kindergarten teacher sweetness, finally making her dream move to a small town. She’s excited for this fresh start, but there’s one problem — Silas, the towns golden boy and apparent friendly Batchelor, cannot stand her. Like, full-on grumpy, cold-shoulder, get out of my town vibes. But why???🤭
The setup had me hooked because I LOVE a good grumpy/sunshine dynamic, especially when there’s some unexplained tension from the start. And fated mates in the mix?! YES PLEASE🙏.
That said, while I enjoyed the book as a light palate cleanser, I did struggle to fully connect with the characters. Everything moved so fast, I would’ve loved a bit more of a build up, a slower burn, and some extra tension before things really took off. A bit more of push and pull would’ve made the climax even more satisfying. Still, it was fun, and I’m definitely curious to see where Liza Bee takes the series next! I love seeing new authors grow🫶
Tropes: 🐺Wolf Shifter 🫶Fated Mates 🐺Small Town 🫶Meddling Grandma 🐺Big City FMC/Small Town MMC 🫶Grumpy/Sunshine
A delightful small-town paranormal romance that perfectly blends cozy charm with shapeshifter vibes.
“Run, Little Wolf. Run.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) 🔥 🔥 (2/5)
Silas is the ultimate grumpy yet secretly caring hero, and his banter with Storm is absolutely hilarious. The slow burn between Silas and Nova is sizzling—especially after that unforgettable drink-throwing moment! Their rocky start only makes their journey more rewarding, and Silas’ devotion to Nova, even when he’s stubbornly trying to resist, is swoon-worthy.
“You look good enough to eat, Little Wolf.”
The action-packed chase scenes add an extra thrill, while the meddling pack elder and the quirky townspeople bring so much personality to the story.
“His chest rumbles with a low growl, “Be careful, Little Wolf, you don’t know what you are asking for.”
This debut novel is a deceptively cute yet spice-filled treat that will leave you eager for more from this world!
————————————————————— * I received an advanced copy of Silas and am sharing my honest review voluntarily. A big thank you to the author and Happily Booked PR for providing it!
