The Savage Six #3

Savage Torment

Rate this book
Everything happens for a reason…

I’m sure the person who came up with that saying was never cursed and had their life tied to another. I’m also sure they never had all their memories removed or their existence reduced to a single letter. And I’m sure they were never shipped off to a secret world full of supernaturals.

My path to Trinity Falls Academy may have been paved with good intentions, but my life since stepping foot on these grounds has been nothing short of pure chaos.

With powers I have yet to control and new people in my life I can’t decipher my feelings for, I sit in the eye of a perpetual storm, hoping for the torment to end. Because if this is the plan the universe truly has for me, I’m not sure I’m destined to make it out alive.

Intense pressure can make a diamond … but in my case, it just might push you to the point of no return.

I can only hope it isn’t at the hands of the men infiltrating my life.

Uff, how this can be even worse than the first 2 books is beyond me. DNF at 44%.
Careful spoilers ahead (if you can even count them as such, since there is nothing new happening in this book):

Somehow at book 3, I still don't believe she has a real connection to any of the love interests (except maybe Tatum). That's kinda an achievement, since the plot isn't in the room with us either (at least if you don't count revelations that were hinted at very obviously since book 1). So how does the author make her books have 500 pages you might ask? Well, apparently by describing how the FMC walks around the grounds for the 10th time, the same combat class description for the 10th time, the same magic class description for the 10th time and the same dining hall descriptions for the 10th time. Honestly, this is getting so exhausting. If there was an "achieve x word count competition without any actual info" this author would win no doubts.

Then to add to the non-existent plot, we have our FMC who I just can't stand anymore. My biggest issue in the first book was that she had a character transplant once she arrived at the new academy and went from being strong and independent to a wet noodle. Sadly, this didn't change and she continues having no backbone throughout the series. She even has the audacity to write in her diary "men are so dumb" after being a complete moron and sleeping with Lincoln AGAIN, who disappears after they're done AGAIN. And she's so surprised and wonders how it could have happened AGAIN. LMAO. Girl, look in a mirror because dumb is staring right back at you. I'm not defending Lincoln though, he's a grade A douche. The FMC SO convinced after sleeping with him that THIS time she will not let him worm his way back in, but tbh he doesn't even need to do any worming because once she sees him all is forgiven. Then they have this big discussion where they claim her and Lincoln is like a petulant little child throwing a tantrum saying "No, I don't wanna", but then he gets convinced and graciously is the fifth member in her harem (after 0 effort on his part, no apologies for his behavior, NADA). What. A. Fail.

Also, am I the only one who was completely put off with the FMC and Lincolns third time fcking? Where did this degradation kink come from all of a sudden? I'm not kink shaming, but neither of them even hinted at being into this stuff before and then all of a sudden 0 to 100 with the kink. What makes it even more weird is the fact that Lincoln obviously doesn't give a damn about aftercare and during every non-sexual interaction he's completely awful to her. So why would a degradation kink coming from him turn her on so much? I don't get it. I would understand it more if it were with Asher or Wylder but not the douche. Because it's obvious that his behavior outside sex really hurts her and she doesn't enjoy being treated that way.

And the whole Blaze thing? I mean it was obvious it was him from the start, but I expected a valid reason for him being mean to her. But this "I will bully her so nobody suspects I like her"...what in the kindergarden logic was that? Just ignore her then? Don't actively paint a target on her back with bullying her? So dumb.

And her friendship with Minnie seems so weird too. The author wants to paint it as them being besties, but their relationship was never built on anything. Seems really forced and therefore fake to me tbh.

So yeah, after 0 plot progression after 2.5 books (which is about 1300 pages), 0 character development/wonky characters in general and a writing style that would make 14 y/o wattpad users proud I decided to dnf. I really tried to give this series a chance (even gave the first book 3 stars, because of the potential), but this is such a boring snooze fest I can't anymore. I give up.
Don't let this deter you though, maybe you'll love the series. But if you, like me, already struggled with those issues in the first book let me tell you it only gets worse.

Lies, loss and love!
Holy smokes, still reeling after that absolute bomb of an ending 😮 this book is a great mix of giving you a little bit but making you ask more 😅
We get greater insight into the weird and questionable bond between Polaris and Blaze…honestly that gruff a hole exterior is hiding a bit of a gooey centre (not that he wants anyone to know)! 🥰Then there’s the wolves..Tatum is firmly on board and I am soooo glad he gets his moment with her 😍 Wylder and Asher also claim their girl in ohhh so many ways 🔥 and we FINALLY see Lincoln simmer down and learn who really wears the pants 👸 you see them finally come together in this book and it’s a good job as there’s more coin appearing that seem to have some connection to the past and so even more questions raised! But also all is not what it seems with the recipients of the curse as well…it’s all a little funky and clearly someone is telling lies 😔 But will this unit and their extension of friends get all the pieces in time for the next culling??! Need that final book ASAP!

I had hoped it would get better, but it looks like a DNF

Frankly, I’ve never thought she was a good writer. The first book interested me enough to decide to read the series. Even though the nick names she uses (in all her books) are just awful. I have to ignore that and the phrases and actions that she uses so frequently in her books or I might lose my mind.
Book two was bad. Still decided maybe it would get better. Spoiler alert. It’s not.

MFC is more TSTL than most MFCs in this genre. And there are many. She seriously lacks brain power and common sense. She is irritating beyond belief. She makes the worst decisions.

Add in this whole MMC thing. Nope. There’s just nothing compelling enough about it to endure the writing quality.

I got into this series because I thought to myself how bad can the cliffhanger be in book 3. Well folks. Bad. spoilers.

I will say that it annoyed me that we again get far more questions than answers and at this point there is zero chance she remembers all these lose ends and connections she has been trying to make throughout this series. I also am a little bummed with relationship progression over the three books. I hate feeling like we don't get equal time and with her clearly going to be having memory loss in book 4. (Which does make me not want to finish this series because it is my number one least favorite trope.) We aren't going to get that build up with Blaze or the real close connection to Lincoln. This is EXACTLY why I hate harems over 4 people, it just never hits the same way. one close relationship a book, don't jam everyone in there. Well I mean or do in some cases....

Anyway. I just hope this final book gives us proper closure. The overall world opinion of not mixing factions is annoyingly not an issue? Does Minnie being her Blood Kim mean that Lincolns family is why she was placed in the school and ripped from her family? Why does the society repeat what they did to the original 6 if the curse is clearly a byproduct of their hatred? Did her parents know she was taken and just let it happen? So. Many. Questions.

also. Who are these guys outside of this school? We never get a glimpse into their home lives unless they are dealing with the crow, and it just doesn't make sense.

I’m not going to lie, I’m disappointed. I love this series and couldn’t wait to read the next book but I barely got anything new in this one. About 10 maybe 15 chapters of plot and then just mature scenes, which I’m not complaining about. However, I’m disappointed that I read this hoping for some more progression instead of pointing out things we already knew or confirming things we already knew. I hope the next book makes up for this because I want to know how their story ends but I can’t say I’m that excited about it. I love the author and I love this series so I’m really holding on here.

This one is not as good at the first 2 by far.
It took me many chapters to even remember who the characters were individually after a few months' break while waiting for this release.
The characters are now extremely cringe
AND there is no plot happening.
This feels like wattpad to me.

Being back in this series was utterly the highlight of weekend and with so much unravelling and parts of the plot coming together. I am breathless and intoxicated by this series and the queen herself KC Kean!

But what in the HOLYMOTHEROFLOVING is that ending... my friggin heart is POUNDING!!

I said it in book one, and I was so damn right I can feel deep in my bones... this is going to be a series I can not get enough of! 😍

There was so many little snippets within that links the story so effortlessly but yet still has you questioning and thinking what is about to happen!

Damn these wolfs are soul consuming and i LOVE how the Savage Six name was dropped and the huge link that plays but yet STILL has you reeling for more information!

The chemistry, the intensity, the plotfriggintwists have me drooling for more from these characters. I NEED more answers and I honestly am consumed by the series. KC is outfrigginstanding with her writing and yet again creating another world by SLAYING it!❤️

Ugh ok so this book felt unnecessarily all over the place. Like it couldn’t pick a lane. It left me frustrated and not in a omg I can’t wait for the next book but more like a, well f&@$ I still have to read the next one because what was that. I’m annoyed, I don’t like any of the characters any more. And this one seemed so disjointed and convoluted. I’m going to read book four but it’s under coercion and duress

T.M.O.G in 1 T.K.O.G in others.

I can’t do it anymore. DNFed at 57%. These books are terrible and Polaris (ridiculous name) is too stupid to live and is not getting better, stronger, smarter, etc… We are all worse off with this book in existence.

#TheSavageSix Not only do we learn what and who the Savage Six are, we get some of the most epic moments. The growth that Polaris (FMC) shows in not only her self confidence, but in her ability to adapt to new challenges I’m so proud of. The guys…OMG I don’t know who I love more. There are moments I want a growling wolf and other times I want her to throat punch a vampire, and maybe climb him as a tree (Haha.)

But what made this book Epic for me is the secrets and mysteries that had me rethinking the whole series.

However, once again just when I think we might have a piece of the puzzle figured out this author pulls the rug right out from under us with the most EPIC cliffy! I bow to greatness KC Kean! You are evil but I love it!!! I can’t wait for August and the final book!!

I enjoyed the story for the most part, fmc needs to get ahold of herself and grow a backbone. I don't see how this story can wrap up in one more book, so I am worried that it will be rushed.

more like a 2.5

this series started off amazing! it was interesting, new and just sucked you right in. like obviously it's a reverse harem, there's going to be lots of sex, but idk. I've always hated books where it's a virgin who's never explored sexually and all of a sudden she's totally cool having multiple dudes at once ?? idk it just rubs me wrong 💀 also the way the author writes about sex it's cringe, a direct quote ""I’m desperate for the weight of him on my tongue, so much it’s overwhelming,"" like who feels that way about giving head? I've never heard of anyone being desperate that way. there's a bunch of other quotes and stuff that are just irritating.

OH ALSO FMC "rubs her lips together" SO FREAKING OFTEN!!! and "gulps" soooooo frequently...like are we now allowed to just swallow???? why are we always gulping?? who gulps this much?!!

idk the writing is giving Wattpad, which isn't always bad but here it is, and I feel like we've lost the plot. I'm over series being a million books long especially when each book is over 450 pages...like so much is being said but also literally nothing?

Lots of Suspicions

I have lots of suspicions but not a lot of explanations. I suspect that Polaris and her men are the same or similar to the ones before. Maybe descendants. I think that the coins mean something but I also feel like the blood kin curse is something made up from the people at the top. I wonder if it’s not a curse. When the kin are revealed it’s crazy. I totally didn’t expect all this to happen.

The men are interesting the things going on with the factions so far no one has said much about her mingling but I also find that suspicious given when happened to that first group of people. I think the no mingling thing is part of that.

On to the next one.

The only reason I’m continuing to read is because the plot away from the romance is good. But the romance…… DAFUDGE. The BBS is so bad and if I read “hint of amusement” one more time I might actually scream. The only maybe ok mmc is Tatum but barely. The banter is soooooo awful 😭

Felt a little Rapy

I personally don’t like when the guys that are supposed to love a girl call her a whore. Just my opinion. Also felt like more forced sex than mutual.

Gahh. Okay. Deep breaths.

It’s been a Macmillan coffee morning at work, and emotions have been high. Imagine people getting emotional over cake. It’s almost like a cake curse has taken over the office. I didn’t even eat my lunch, and I didn’t have much cake. The swirl vanilla chocolate cake I made was the first sacrifice at the table! It’s been a day of complaints and of multiple swear words, and through the breaks and the moments when I could no longer look at my spreadsheet, I took little moments to read, and that calmed me down.

So, this is the third book in the series, Savage Torment. And I believe it is a 4-book series. Right before I finished this book, I got an email from an absolute TWAT, and it properly pissed me off, so I was already full of adrenaline when I came back to reading the last few pages.

Polaris is a gorgeous character. There are many things that I love about her, and I enjoy the on-point writing from the author, bringing the perfect mix of innocence and curiosity to her life. She takes everything in her stride, and whether she runs, stands tall, feels fear or happiness, she can continue putting one foot in front of the other, and I can respect that.

Polaris and her men are finally in a sort of truce, or rather, the men have stopped having a pissing contest with each other and decided to prioritise her safety overall.

Blaze, as I suspected, was hiding a lot, but I didn’t expect him to reveal everything so early on in this book. I think, from a character clarity move, the reveal helped Polaris in the long run. I think the male characters can both accept and ignore the fact that Polaris is new to the world around her. They take her in with a sense of awe but are also ignorant of a lot of her struggles. To an extent, Blaze's revealing moments between them allow Polaris to take stock of her emotions; she may not like what he has done and what has happened, but emotionally, I think it strengthens her. By the end of this book, I still know Blaze is an arse, but he’s an arse with feelings, and he truly cares for the wellbeing and safety of Polaris above all others.

Tatum, our quiet and traumatised wolf, takes a first from Polaris in this book, and if anyone were to take it, he was the best decision to claim first rights. His soul is the most connected to Polaris. Their souls are damaged together, and it works for them in a way that soothes the cracks they carry, and somehow, they are mutually healing each other. It was also great to see a more possessive side of Tatum and see the calm break away and the assertive wolf peak through.

Wylder is still as big and boisterous as ever. He has a distinct flavour, and even when he is angry, he is looking for ways to be close to Polaris. To watch her. To keep her safe. To entice her… When Bianca picks on Polaris, it is usually Wylder’s name that falls from her lips, but it is something that Wylder never acknowledges, and so Polaris has no reason to believe anything that comes from Bianca’s lips. Polaris gives as good as she gets where Bianca is concerned – which is in everyone’s interest.

Arrogant posturing, Lincoln is no more – well, he’s still an arse – but I don’t see that changing anytime soon. He is finally, ‘all in’ when it comes to Polaris, and I’m honestly so proud of Polaris for sticking to her boundaries and showing Lincoln the door when he couldn’t respect them. It has taken a long time for Lincoln to admit what he feels and accept his relationship with Polaris. From the first book, I had thought he would be the top of the males, but I find him somewhat in the middle. He may be the alpha of the wolves on campus, but he isn’t the alpha within Polaris’s men, and I think that has been something he has struggled to come to terms with.

Asher didn’t know what to do with himself at the end of book 2, and many of the events that happened caused him physical and mental grief. I think he carries as much trauma as Tatum, but he just carries it differently. The encounters between Asher and Polaris hit differently because he allows her to relinquish control in a way that the others don’t.

Minnie and Bryony. Well, Minnie is still a force to be reckoned with. Taking no shit from anyone and fully accepting Polaris into her group of friends and family. Bryony, her story takes on a mystery at the beginning of this book that quickly slips into realisation and then confusion and curiosity – the verdict isn’t in yet.

We learn more about the blood kin curse, specifically the people who caused it to happen. We learn a little bit about the why surrounding it. Honestly, I saw and understood the cause and reasoning back in book one. It may not be obvious to all who read this series, but it was the only logical way for the plot to progress. In fact, I would probably have been horrified if the plot had gone anywhere else.

There is another emerging mystery surrounding this blood kin curse. Polaris and her men practically stumble on it, and Polaris can’t help but think over it while the others dismiss it. It made the most sense to me why Polaris ended this book the way she did. I’d seen the clarity she had been feeling and concluded it was the most likely option. I am not sure whether the men will forgive her for her actions, but I think that if they are to understand and unwind the curse as they intend, this was the best path to take.

I’m intrigued about the finale.

Great book!!

This was better than the first two and the first one was hard to beat. Her alpha wolf pack, her Vampire Bond Blaze are all working together. Polaris is finally feeling like her feet are on stable ground. Secrets are coming out and the answers that they seek are within arms reach.
Polaris survives the arrow to the chest, but it reveals more than they bargained for. Blaze, did compell her during her black outs but not what they originally thought. He’s her vampire Mate. His Bound. His Amica Mea. He puts up an asshole front for the public but behind closed doors, he’s a teddy bear. He’s rightfully worried that if he says to much she won’t give him the time of day, which is true for the most part until he starts being vulnerable with her. Showing her the hidden memories from the black outs. He heard she was looking for B or Benjamin. He was from Florentines with her and hadn’t been seen since arriving at the academy. S or Sian and T or Terrence (S was her best friend from Florentines, and T was the guy she was somewhat dating but when she wouldn’t give her cherry to him he became bitter sleeping with every female there) have been feeding on him as Sian “choose” him for her blood bag. So Blaze saved him, kept him in his room, bringing food back for him to keep him safe. Blaze brought Polaris to his room a second time to see him getting better, as the first time he was on the verge of death from vampires feeding on him. He wanted Polaris to see that he cares about her and her friends.
The bargain that prompted the arrow to her chest (from the crow) reveals the golden chalice that started the curse in the first place is sitting on her bed. She does some kind of magic with the alpha wolf pack there and they all step into some kind of vision from the past. Seems like Champ the original Mind witch had a coven of other kinds of supernaturals. So this naturally gives the guys the idea that she can create a coven with them. Her witch teacher is pissed at her for rejecting the Renegades again, and basically runs her into the ground trying to practice things that she had no idea what she’s doing. So when the coven forms later on, it’s like a big old F U to the teacher. Too bad we don’t get to see the aftermath of that when it’s all revealed. Unfortunately, they witness one game where the now 21 year olds fight to the death. A guy catches her eye, turns out he’s the Games Keeper. And he looks just like her father in the vision she had in the last book. The one where he tells her, is this a fighting moment or a learning moment. She felt his love in that memory as well has his face. So she’s rattled when she sees him the first time. It drove me NUTS she didn’t say a thing to anyone, until it was time for her own fight to the death at the end. I truly thought maybe when she was feeling out of sorts with Blaze and Bryony having the same reaction to Sian that they were each others blood curse kin. Turns out I was defiantly wrong. Sian is Benjamin’s and Minnie is hers. Polaris seems to get an idea, she almost dies from a random girl at the first games fight to the death and sees her later on at the mall. The crow offers her a bargain she can’t refuse and gives her the names/addresses of those remaining with a coin. Turns out Benjamin has a coin. And this girl Krystal she saw die at the last games has a coin. But how can Krystal be alive after she saw them die. She Aparently has no memory and woke from a coma with only the coin in her possession. Blaze compels her to give them the coin and to forget about it. Unfortunately we don’t learn what they decide to do after they gain all the coins because an assembly is called to name out the names of those that are kin from the blood curse. I’m thinking Polaris thinks that they don’t truly die. It pissed me off to read how Benjamin took his life because he loved Sian so much. And reading how Polaris took her life so she wouldn’t have to take Minnie’s just about broke me so I’m really freakin hoping that Polaris and Benjamin don’t truly die. Seriouslu my heart hurts for them. They have been through so much and they are the last two that remain friends from Florentines.
Although, no one has mentioned it yet but, Polaris was taken at 10 years old the night after she did the blood test to find out their blood kin curse. And it’s been told that it’s the family of the blood kin that drives the action of stealing the kids and putting them in Florentines. So that means Minnie and Lincoln’s family were the ones to kill Polaris family and steal her away to Florentines. Although with her seeing her dad as the Games master and there’s no mention of recognizing her name when it’s announced during the games leaves me with more questions. So many questions. Can’t wait for the next book. Polaris will survive because KC can’t kill off the female lead character. Seriously can’t wait for the next book!!!!

SPOILERS FOR SERIES
This serves as a reminder for myself so I don't need to go back and read the entire 3 books again.

Our FMC was kidnapped at the age of 12 from her parents' home, drugged, and made to forget her childhood & everything before the children's institution.
She doesn't even remember her name, but she is assigned a letter, and that is what she goes by at the institution, "P".
She is kidnapped, along with all the other kids staying there, because a powerful family of each of the kids paid for them to be so (along with their parents' deaths).
Why? Well, in this universe, there is the "blood kin curse", which links two people together until the age of 21. If one dies before this age, they both die. However, at age 21, their "blood kin" is revealed, and only ONE of them may live. AKA, they have to duke it out to see who survives.
So essentially, those "powerful families" were paying for the privilege of keeping their kids' blood kin in the dark and ignorant until that day comes.

Fast forward to P's age 18, she (along with her other classmates/age group) is removed from the institution and moved to Trinity Academy. They are told they live in a world of supernaturals, not just humans. This new academy is for those supernaturals AND the humans that are linked by the blood kin curse.
There are 4 factions: Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, and Humans (supernatural hunters, like Buffy).
Anyway, they also get their names back. Our girl is Polaris Beauchamp!
She is sorted into the Witch faction, but her powers are locked by gold bracelets her parents (she doesn't remember) placed on her before she arrived at the old institution. The first two books she works by getting her bracelets off and learns she is a Center (mind witch), which essentially means she cannot join a coven; she must form her own. Covens are necessary for witches b/c they need each other to stabilize their power.
She also finds out the "blood kin curse" began because a witch fell in love with those outside of her faction (werewolf, vampire, and another witch). There was a human who loved her, but she did not love him back, and he retaliated by hunting and killing her beloved. She sought refuge with the witch and other factions, but they turned their backs on her. She decided to curse them.

Polaris gets to witness a gathering at the Acadmey for 12 individuals to find out who their blood kins are. Once their connections are announced, a bloodbath ensues among the students and only 6 are left standing. Polaris is shocked by what she sees and doesn't want to kill anyone.

Polaris is already enjoying the eye candy outside of her faction, esp with 4 werewolves and 1 vampire.
She also becomes best friends with a girl in her witch faction and another girl in the werewolf faction (Minnie).

Another item that is left on Polaris from before the institution is a gold coin with the face of the joker on it and "TKOG" written on it. She comes to find out others also have this coin, and it is directly linked back to the original witch and her lovers. There are 6 coins total. By the end of the book (after they get involved in some underground shady shit) they have them all.

During their journey to find all the coins, one of the coins is found to be on one of the dead girls from the earlier blood kin fight... Except she's not dead. She's living in NYC but awoke 2 weeks ago from a "coma" and has no recollection of her past. She doesn't know anything about supernaturals.

Also by the end of the book, Polaris and Minnie are found to be blood kins. Polaris stabs herself so she doesn't kill Minnie (or make Minnie choose to kill Polaris) with the last words "promise to find me"

It's Blaze. The nurse does a blood test and a knot tattoo appears on Blaze. Since he is bound to Polaris, he is made her next of kin. And he kicks everyone out. When Polaris wakes up, she's really confused as to why Blaze is there. He gives her back all her memories because he says otherwise she won't fall for him. We see how Blaze was drawn to her, how he showed her Ben in the vampire basement used as a bloodbag because Sian choose him, Terrence tried to choose Polaris but Blaze said absolutely not. He then got Ben out and is hiding him to make Polaris happy. He then kissed her and accidentally knicked her lip and tasted her blood. He then knows they are bound. They come out of the memories and he tells Polaris that she needs to get used to it because he's not going anywhere.
They leave the hospital and all the guys are in the waiting room. Even though Blaze is now in this, they don't care, they're just happy Polaris is ok.
Later, they're all in Polaris's room and Lincoln is being a dick and Wylder, Tatum, and Asher all say they want to claim her. And Lincoln can leave if he doesn't. He says Polaris is going to ruin them, but he says yes too. They also figure out something about the chalice that was used to make the curse. They get transported into a vision of the past. Of Belladona and one of her men and the town talking about their coven and how they need to be stopped. All because theis coven was made up of mmore than just witches, it was the men she loved. a witch, 2 vamps, a human, and a wolf. Asher, Polaris, and Blaze are all in possession of one of the golden coins.
There's a ceremony for some students to figure out who their blood kin is. after this, they have 52 weeks for one of them to die or they both die. When the 6 pairs are revealed, they automatically start trying to kill each other. Chaos breaks loose and Polaris gets to a wall to try and get out. Blaze finds her and takes the bite from a wolf that was aiming at Polaris. They make it back to her dorm and she agrees to use her blood to heal him. Just a few drops on the wound and it's all good. They are interrupted but Polaris says she wants more. Blaze tells her that when he does take her, he wants her blood too.
There's going to be another blood kin ceremony. This time, the 12 will be announced and then 7 days later, they will find out who their blood kin is. One at a time. Lincoln, Minnie, Bianca, Sian, Ben, Blaze, Bryony, Foster, and Polaris are all called.
Tatum bites Polaris and claims/mates her. Blaze gets a visit from The Crow's lackey telling him he has 72 hours to complete his latest task. Turns out his task is to kill whoever is mated to Polaris, Tatum. He goes to the guys with this. The Crow shows up in Polaris's room with a deal: the location of the remaining coins. She takes it. Ben has one, Lincoln gets one from someone's house and the last one is in another house: Krystal who was literally killed at the chaos the other day at school. She says she was in a coma and woke up with no memories and no family. They think it's weird but they take her coin and leave.
Lincoln tells Polaris that she needs a coven. That they will be her coven. So they all take turns fucking her and saying the words that will make them part of her coven. The remaining wolves also bite her to claim her. They are not The Savage Six.
Time for the blood kin ceremony.
Blaze and Bianca: Blaze kills her
Ben and Sian: Sian tries but Blaze interferes and tells Ben to run. Ben kills himself.
Polaris and Minnie: Polaris says everything makes sense, she tells Minnie to trust her and come find her. Then she stabs herself with Ben's knife.

💥 Blazing Drama & Bonds – ★★★★★ | 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Just Me, Reflecting with a Cuppa ☕

Right – I devoured this one. Honestly, I couldn’t put it down, and I didn’t even try. 😅 It was such a perfect third instalment, and the moment I opened it, I was swept straight back into all the drama, magic, and moody supernatural boys. There’s something really satisfying about watching everything start to come together, like pieces of a puzzle finally clicking. The harem is shaping up nicely (hello, Blaze 🔥), and I’m really loving the evolution. The overprotective wolves are still doing their “grrr” thing 🐺 and I’m here for it. Also, the mystery! I love that the plot leaves you with theories spiralling and trying to piece it together.

What I Loved About This Book 💖

✨ The development!
There’s so much growth in this one – not just in the romance but also the overall storyline. We finally start seeing the threads come together – the relationships, the curse, the past. It feels like a bridge to something epic in the next book.

🧛‍♂️ Blaze – the chaotic vampire energy we didn’t know we needed
Blaze stormed in and totally took over the plot! He’s got that “I might set everything on fire but also love you forever” energy. I love how he brought a whole new dynamic to the group. 💥

🐺 Those possessive wolves
I mean, do I even need to say more? They’re protective, they’re intense, and they’re so emotionally wrapped up in her. LOVE.

🕵️‍♀️ A bit of mystery to chew on
Just when I thought I had it figured out… bam, maybe florentines isn’t what we thought? What?! The whole thing with the curse feels like it’s about to explode and I can’t wait.

I have questions 🤔

I can’t wait to find out!

The Tropes 💕
• Reverse harem 💋
• Found family 🫶
• Overprotective mates 🐺
• Magical academy 🎓
• Fated bonds 🔮
• Hidden legacy 👀
• Slow burn romance (with spice) 🔥

Ending Summary 🌟

This book was like a supernatural soap opera in the best way possible – twists, turns, vampires crashing the party and a building mystery that I know is going to blow wide open in the next one. I’m already itching to dive back into this world. KC Kean is really doing something here, and I’m so in. Bring on book four!! 🙌

Savage Torment is the third instalment in the The Savage Six series by K.C. Kean.

Ten year old Polaris is kidnapped in the middle of the night by an external organisation called Florentines, in an attempt to keep her from killing her blood kin. Every person has a blood kin, someone they are tied to irrevocably until they are 22. If one member of the bond dies prematurely, the other member automatically drops dead as well. Therefore, wealthy members of society will pay to have their child's blood kin locked away and protected to prevent this tragedy from happening. Polaris and the nameless others she grew up with, get transferred to a school for witches, vampires and wolves. Polaris quickly finds out that her whole life has been a lie and the hardest challenge is yet to come.

I'm so glad that this book improved on the flaws that I outlined in my review for the previous book, it has so much potential and I was worried it would quickly go to waste after a stellar opening book in this series. I will say there is still some pacing issues and you are often left with more questions than answers, but the plot development is much better and straightforward in Savage Torment compared to the previous book in this series.

I said previously that I had a sneaking suspicion that none of the wolves would be Polaris' blood kin and I am so glad that I was correct. This series desperately needed Polaris to be blood bound to Blaze to provide a threat to the wolves as they had become too comfortable with their relationship(s) with Polaris. I certainly welcomed the chaos that this revelation brought upon the characters.

Lincoln is still awful and I can't bring myself to like him. Polaris seriously needs to grow a backbone and assert herself as someone who will not be taken for granted because she can be incredibly frustrating at times.

This series relies on major cliffhangers in order to keep the reader invested, and it's the same case here. I feel as though I have no choice but to read the last book to find out what happens to Polaris.
