The Savage Six #4

Savage Sacrifice

Rate this book
Dear Diary,
Trinity Falls is nothing like I expected it to be. I never could have imagined that I would be a witch and find my magic. I never expected to find friends who have become family. And I certainly never expected to fall in love with five men who have become the center of my world.
And yet here I am, surrounded by so much more than I ever could have wished for … but standing between us and happiness is a curse that binds us all. There’s so much more at play, but all the pieces to the puzzle have yet to be revealed, and we’re out of time.
Now I know what I must do; I have no other choice. It has come down to me or someone I’ve come to love so dearly, so it must be me.
With a dagger in hand, I hope I’m right… I hope it is worth the sacrifice.

I think after 3 books of build up and the crazy cliffhanger last book I may have built this up in my head too much.....spoilers.

Okay, did I want a whole book getting memories back? No. but did it need to only take 15 percent of the book then rush/sprint through plot points to wrap everything up? No.

This book unlike the other three was all tell no show. We get multiple instances of prophecy/info dumps and it just felt so rushed. We had no build up after meeting the original group. We had no build up with Whitmore and Juniper they just *poof* no head. Which why couldn't the OG crow just kill them?

We also due to the fast nature of the plot miss a lot of the connections Polaris had the three previous books and I missed those moments that made me like this series. I am just not sure how to feel about the ending, they went from decently naive students stuck in a crazy world in the span of one book, because at the end of the last one they were nowhere near saving the world.

We also have zero closure on her parents? or really a real conversation with them which was annoying and lacked closure. Yeah the crow did his thing but her parents actively let her go. Why?

Also, the inconsistent background annoys me. Blaze hates all factions and assumes his parents do too. but his mom's best friend is a witch? Factions aren't supposed to mix at all, but Lincolns parents are a witch and a wolf?

Honestly, I think this book just fell flat on too many levels for me and barely eaked by with a 3.

Did I read the same book everyone else did? This was diabolical.

What was the point in the blood curse and everyone dying only to lose their memories and not actually die? Her father is the keeper of the ceremony (where the blood kins are revealed and they kill each other) and there’s a suggestion that he doesn’t remember her. But then her parents come to see her and nothing happens? No answers? The FMC is still the most annoying person ever. The crow is some mystic being who is revealed to be one of the original curse bearers, whose mask is attached to his face magically. Asher takes the cursed mask as his sacrifice and then becomes the crow until the FMC breaks the curse. The crow compelled Asher as a child but there’s no mention of what he was compelled to do or remember. Briony (FMC BFF) is a snake but there was no foreshadowing until this book. It’s like the author had no idea what was going to happen and the other three books were a build up to nothing.

Honestly the plot had potential but felt rushed and was written like the reader was dumb and needed their hand held through everything. I skimmed the last 30% just so it could be over.

Parents

For how much Polaris’ parents were mentioned, it was certainly a giant plot hole that never got resolved. What was the point of her father overseeing “the Game’? What was their deal with The Crow that facilitated her being kidnapped in the middle of the night? And given how badly Polaris wanted to know about her past, you’d think she would want to at least talk her parents to get their side of things. Why would she just take the words of The (old) Crow as gospel?

Lastly, why did everyone have to believe they died, instead of just becoming “normal”?

Overall it was a decent story, but this last book feels extremely rushed and not well planned out. KC Kean usually is much better than this.

I rage read this series. I liked the premise and some characters were interesting. However, it was incredibly slow paced. The use of rasp was infuriating. Over and over again it was the primary descriptor for speech. Also, lip biting, licking, and rubbing. I’m conflicted about trying something else by this author because though the tropes were very familiar (Harry Potter) I think it was still interesting. I’m just not sure I can get over the repetition.

Miracle I read all 4 books

This has been a hard series to get through (Whew, understatement), not because the storyline is complicated with too many side plots intertwined and/or bad writing; but because Polaris is such weak sauce.

When we first meet her when she's in Florentine she is a loner but she's strong with her convictions and doesn't cave to anybody's pressures because she sees through it. However, the second she gets to Trinity Falls she has no convictions, no backbone, and is wilfully ignorant. She went from not caring what anybody else thinks to caring what everybody thinks to the point that it paralyses her. She makes almost no progress and what progress she does make is so minuscule and at such a turtle pace that I didn't know if she would be able get her shit together in time to be of any use or if I'm just rooting for her to die already because I'm over her childishness. Spoiler alert: she dies, just not permanently and is even more dead weight than she was before which is mindblowing. Throwing more fuel on the Polaris hate train is her consistent need to run when anything gets hard. She fucking runs away. Ugh. I can't even with this chick.

And don't even get me started on Lincoln-the man-baby. He's supposed to be an alpha and in charge of the wolves at the school and he only excels and pissing everybody off and throwing toddler tantrums that more often than not ends with some form of "because I said so" or "I'm the alpha and I said no." 🙄

To top off this crap cake, Polaris doesn't get her magic back. Wtf. So, she's just human now? Other supernaturals seem to not have a finite life span so wtf is she going to do. Does Blaze turn her? I sure freaking hope so otherwise their HEA is bullshit.

I truly hate that I read this series.

I loooooooved this series and the characters…. But was disappointed by the finale. Spoilers spoilers spoilers to come!

Partly due to bias, but I never enjoy the plot where the MC forgets everyone and everything. Especially in this situation where the MC has already had her past memories torn from her. This was resolved within the first third of the book, but nonetheless I did not enjoy it.

I enjoyed the middle. Again, I love this harem. Love love love.

So many things didn’t make sense to me. So Juniper is mad her sister didn’t join her coven so she has her coven start a curse to forever separate factions. And this curse is so oddly specific but also has almost nothing to do with factions? She has people fight their blood kin to the death when they turn 21…. But they just pop back up without their memories somewhere else? How does this solve the faction problem for the witches? And where are they popping up and why? Like, she ended up in Florida.. And why The Crow!? I get it, her sister was mad at the harem so she targeted the vampire without connections. But like…. Making him wear a permanent mask that makes him have evil thoughts? Why the deals? Why does he know everyone and everything?? Why is he working towards solving the curse but also torturing his nephew? WHY.

Disappointed, but still love tf out of Blaze. And Asher.

This was a Savage Sacrifice for me to read.

4 overly long books In a series that should’ve been one 2⭐️ wattpad short story.

Sincerely regret rage reading this. I can no longer rub lips together or gulp in peace again without thinking of this writing.

So glad I’m done ✌🏻

Savage Six Finale

After the ending of book 3, I didn't know how this one was going to go, especially since it was the final one of The Savage Six series. I really enjoyed it and I hate that there was also some betrayal that I was hoping wasn't true.

The group overall grew stronger and their relationship was the key to everything. I felt so terrible when the betrayal happened, but then everything clicked and made sense.

I didn't want this one to be the last one as I a feel like I didn't get enough of Polaris, but their story was exciting and action packed. I can't wait to see what series is coming next!

I’m glad I finished this series and got to see the conclusion, but it really tapered off for me and I just rushed through it to be done. Felt so surface level, with interesting concepts just barely breached and not actually flushed out to make them deep. Very “tell” not “show”

This author just pissed me off. What was that??! I don’t think I have EVER read a story that felt this…there was to many loose ends. I was going to give this series a solid 2 1/2 until this book. Now-now it’s a 1.

Okay I blasted through the first three books so I really wanted to like this one because it set up a whole ton of angst which I love. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed.

No, I didn’t want the whole book to be just about how the boys find Polaris and restore her memories, but I thought it would at least be a solid chunk of the beginning of the book. Instead, it’s solved like 15% of the way in. And the angst wasn’t everything I was hoping for either.

And there were so many plot points that got insanely rushed or all together abandoned by the ending. I thought I was missing chapters or something because everything moved so fast. Like why introduce an entire prophecy that foreshadows the fate of Polaris’ coven halfway through the LAST book in the series? Then it all of a sudden rushes through everything it said would happen in the last 20% of the book. Like Asher taking on the Crow mask should’ve been a much bigger plot point, especially since he comes in right at the end and kills off the main bad guys (who we also didn’t know were the main bad guys until this book lmao). And I felt like Wylder got shafted this entire book, he only had three chapters and his whole “guard the light” thing was pretty anticlimactic. They make a big deal out of getting Sian wrangled just for Wylder to kill her while Polaris is kinda out of it.

And the Bryony betrayal should’ve hit so much harder but it really didn’t. Like I felt no sympathy for her at all, even when they were still on the fence about her acting weird. Maybe if we saw her have more of a connection with the coven and Minnie it would’ve been more impactful. Also Polaris’ parents were abandoned after the first few chapters. Why make a big deal out of knowing who they are and then not have any sort of explanatory conversation with them at all?

I would’ve never guessed that Blaze would be my favorite character by the end though. He by far I think had the most depth and biggest character arc besides Lincoln. And maybe the romance aspect fell a little flat here too because there was no more tension between anyone except Polaris and Lincoln. Like I kinda missed Wylder ragebaiting Polaris, or the angst that connected her and Tatum, and even the intrigue surrounding Asher. This book definitely favored the plot instead of the character relationships, which is part of what I loved from the previous books.

Also I hate the trope of the girl losing her powers in favor of the “greater good.” Polaris being a center mind witch was such a huge revelation for so long and then she just… loses all of that? But Lincoln is still able to keep his wolf? I know it was explained that because she fully died she lost her powers for good, but I resent that trope so much.

I really wanted to like this book. The setup was soooo good from the previous book, which is the best in the series imo. But there were too many rushed plot points and abandoned threads that I just couldn’t bring myself to gloss over. But overall the series I would say is a solid 7/10, I just wish it had stuck the landing.

Y’all, I have been waiting for the day that I could get my hands on this book, especially given how Savage Torment ended, and it did NOT disappoint. There were still so many twists and turns left in this story that I was glued to the book and didn’t want to stop reading for anything. And let me tell you, I totally yelled out “I KNEW IT!”, when my unhinged theory I had all the way back in the first book ended up being right. Even being right about that, there were still so many revelations that I did not see coming. KC totally kept me on my toes guessing what was going to happen next, and I was here for every second of it.

Polaris has grown so much throughout each book and I love how she has turned into this strong FMC who has no problem standing up for herself and those she loves. I seriously cannot pick a favorite from the guys. They’re all so different and I love them each for different reasons, that picking just isn’t possible.

I completely devoured this book, and this is probably my favorite series by KC Kean now. While I’m sad to see it end, these characters definitely deserve their HEA, and I can’t wait to see what KC is going to give us next.

Oh my god this book pissed me off 🤣. There’s nothing I hate more than a powerful FMC losing all her powers at the end. WHAT. After everything Polaris has been through? After barely scratching the surface in her magic and only getting to experience it for like 2 seconds? After she saves everyone else from having to experience the curse? She gets zero reward except to be alive? The author easily could have made it that breaking the curse restored memories and magic for the blood kin that died, but instead she chose to make them all stay human and not have any memory. Dumb.

I didn’t like the spice in this book at all. The weird degradation play doesn’t fit with these characters and the book vibe at all. It feels so forced and out of place like the author wanted to have edgy sex scenes but they just are filler and felt like a way for her to check the fan service box of each MMC getting an alone scene with the FMC since it’s the last book. It didn’t fit.

I thought the ending became very obvious as soon as were told who the nurse is. It became clear pretty soon after who the crow was and that Bryony and Whitlock were the bad guys. I think some things were meant to be surprises or twists at the end but it was all pretty easy to figure out well before we got to the conclusion.

What did I like about it? I thought it was mostly a fun read and I liked the concept and the world. It wasn’t bad even though I’m ranty about it. I’m just pretty disappointed that the FMC got so screwed over without any reward except having boyfriends…. Like ok I guess…..

KC Kean does it again, her writing always keeps me on my toes, the spice is always perfection and she never lets me down with the plot twists. Did I mention she writes some of the best why choose tropes.

The Savage Six series has been full of ups and downs with the characters as they battle the blood kin curse and forbidden love. Polaris is a strong FMC forced into a world she didn’t know existed only to be the one to break the curse. She has five men though ready to worship her and standby her side as they take on the mystery and challenges together.

The spice is hot and steamy when it kicks in. The enemies days are numbered and the love between these characters that builds is swoonworthy.

If you haven’t jumped into the world of KC Kean and love why choose, I highly recommend adding her books to your TBR.

What an amazing book to bring this series to completion- loved it!
This series has held me hostage from the very beginning, it’s so unlike anything I’ve read before.
The twist and creativity absolutely blew me away. Each and every instalment of this series had me even more invested in working out the mystery.
This book answers all the questions I had, it had my jaw dropping and almost screaming out loud. I had tears - it was so well written with such detail and emotion.
Polaris - such a phenomenal character, over the 4 books you see her really bloom.
I’m sad this is the end of this series, but I can’t wait to see what world KC Kean will take us into next.

Brilliant end to the series. It was fast paced, action packed, spicy and had surprisingly decent plot twists. Definitely would recommend this series to people that want to brave zodiac academy but are unsure wether they will get on with it, as this series has the same vibes but a lot shorter.

Savage Sacrifice is the fourth and final instalment in the The Savage Six series by K.C. Kean.

Ten year old Polaris is kidnapped in the middle of the night by an external organisation called Florentines, in an attempt to keep her from killing her blood kin. Every person has a blood kin, someone they are tied to irrevocably until they are 22. If one member of the bond dies prematurely, the other member automatically drops dead as well. Therefore, wealthy members of society will pay to have their child's blood kin locked away and protected to prevent this tragedy from happening. Polaris and the nameless others she grew up with, get transferred to a school for witches, vampires and wolves. Polaris quickly finds out that her whole life has been a lie and the hardest challenge is yet to come.

I was incredibly disappointed in this last book compared to how the previous book had rectified the majority of the flaws found across this series. I spent most of my time confused about who was whose blood kin and what was actually going on. This series had so much potential and promise and it's a shame to see it fall off so badly in the fourth and final book. A massive threat was made of the blood kin curse and it was outlined clearly in the first book, however finding out like nobody actually dies of the curse and instead loses their memories is so...flat? The blood kin curse was the best part of the plot and it ends up becoming redundant so the main characters can have a happy ending.

The writing style isn't even bad, it's just a confusing plot and lack of character development that affects my review for this series. Polaris is a completely different person to who she was at Florentine – she went from being one of the strongest people there to becoming incredibly naive in the real world. I understand that she had been lied to for basically her entire life but ends up valuing the opinions of everyone around her so much to the point where it makes her so difficult to understand.

The MMCs didn't do anything to draw me back in, especially Lincoln. The sudden inclusion of Polaris' parents didn't pay off at all and really didn't offer any answers or closure. There was also the introduction of side characters who didn't need to be there at all. A lot of this felt like unnecessary filler, and it didn't help that this book dragged so slowly. I think if you take the most important and relevant parts of this series, this could have been a solid duet or a decent trilogy at best.

I don't think I'll revisit this series again, sadly.

All this book had to do was wrap the story in a mildly clean way for me to give it a good rating, and yet it managed to kill its franchise as a whole for me, my villain origin story:

This is yet another book where, despite all the characters having to make their own sacrifices for the plot to move, the only one who ends up facing lasting consequences is – shock – the female main character.

Who despite ending the story magicless, with no real skills nor power and the personality equivalent of an uncooked chicken feels content to leave it at that. Because her men are with her.

Cue me playing hoops with her personal development from the last three books going down the trash.

So, much like being the black sheep in your family it found new and unexpected ways to keep on disappointing – a feat I didn’t foresee until I was too deep to call it quits without disrespecting the goal of the year.

If you’re reading this, consider it your warning to not waste your time like I did.

I finally finished the last book in this series, and I’ll admit, for a little while I doubted whether this was going to be the last book or whether I’d be bamboozled by another! I have had the most horrific brain-splitting migraine all day, so I’ve dipped out of reading this, working, and contemplating my existence.

I’m actually glad that this was the last book because everything was wrapped up neatly and not overly drawn out. There was a lot to answer for, and I do feel like things were adequately resolved. I still have thoughts, and I don’t feel that everything was answered to the depth I required, but it was still a good read and conclusion.

After the events of book 3, Polaris is essentially walking a different path, and it is a rare treat to see her interact in a completely different setting. It wasn’t like encountering her at the beginning of the series, but rather getting a glimpse into her life if it had gone another way. For being the central character in this book series, it almost felt like she took a back seat in this book; the narrative was more focused on a united team effort rather than individual evolutions.

The blood kin curse is a major plot point in this book. We see the understanding behind what is happening, we learn the origin of the curse, and we basically learn everything we need to.
Everything surrounding The Crow is revealed in this book, but in my opinion, more was needed. I was left feeling a little disappointed in what I was given. I think the author could have delved a lot deeper into this particular plot point.

The main theme of this book is really what sacrifices are you willing to make to ensure your love will survive. Love is subjective to the holder, and books and films have led us to believe that only those worthy of the largest sacrifices are worth our endless love. I’m not arguing against that, it works very well within this book series, I just think there needs to be a level of mindfulness that there are versions of the men we lust after in books, floating around in the real world – that, however, is a conversation for another time!!

If I were to talk about character arcs, Lincoln has the biggest personality change of the 5 men. He loses some of his cockiness and aggressive need to be in control, and he takes more ownership of his path in life, what he desires, and what he can bring to the table. It was relaxing to read his conclusion because for most of the series, he’s been at odds with Polaris, continually running hot and cold. It was good to see him sort himself out.

Tatum was a character I generally worried about in this book. I thought that if any of the characters were going to die, then it was going to be him. His character has a very calming presence. Despite his trauma, I never saw him as a brooding, dark character. He’s been on the sidelines, yes, but he is also a very defined character. His position of Polaris’s safe space never wavered through the series, and out of all of them, I’m most happy that he found his connection to Polaris.

Wylder has big feelings. I always knew that. His big and boisterous personality continually showed how much he cared for Polaris. That has never wavered. He has always wanted to protect her and care for her. He was the last to face his event in this book, and it summed him up pretty well. I don’t think he will be letting go of Polaris any time soon.

Blaze has been another interesting character to see evolve. Through the first book, I thought he was an arse. Throughout the second, I didn’t trust him. Through the third, I was wary of letting him in, and finally here, I can see his worth and his love for Polaris. All this had nothing to do with him being a vampire and everything to do with his personality. I learnt a lot more about him in this book, not just because the men were all working together, but through the interactions between him and Polaris and his interactions with others around him. It also showed different sides to him, and the event he faced solidified for me at least that he had become a better person.

Asher is complicated. He’s complicated because of The Crow. As I said, everything about The Crow is revealed in this book, but it is so meshed up against Asher’s life that I almost lost his character for a while. We all knew that Asher and The Crow were linked together, family in a way. A lot of my problem with this comes from not having a fully detailed realisation of the plot point. It could have been better. It was, I feel, the easy solution. Asher, however, has a moment of stark contrast where he finds himself in a position where he can neither trust himself nor his love for Polaris. It is hard to read the few paragraphs, and it just further irritated me with the lack of explanation.

Minnie is, Minnie. A tornado on a calm night. She is the perfect companion character to flit between everyone else and drop her own humour and problems into the mix.

Bryony…well…suspicious behaviour. But we’ve been here before. She was suspicious in book 1, also. You’ll have to read to find out.

I’m torn a little because I enjoyed reading the series but the ending was HEA but with none of the spice, explanation, or happiness I’d usually be looking for.

Lincoln and Bryony: Nothing happens
They all leave out of the assembly. Polaris's body disappeared. They are all fairly confident that Polaris isn't dead, they just have to figure it out. They run into the Keeper of the Games. AKA Polaris's dad and they ask if he knows Polaris. A woman appears, with silver hair. And when they ask if they know Polaris, the man and woman disappear.
Polaris wakes up in the hospital. She is told her and her 3 friends were in a vehicle crash. All of them are having problems with their memory. They are all students at a college in Florida. Polaris, Ben, Foster, and Bianca all head home together.
The Savage Six and the girls go to the medical center to find Polaris's body and it's not there. They then figure out that Polaris was stuck on Krystal still being alive, so that's why she killed herself. They are going to question Krystal. No luck with Krystal. Lincoln decides that he's going to die and find Polaris. He asks Bryony to do a spell to help him keep his memory.
Lincoln wakes up and recognizes the nurse. Belladona. The witch that created the curse. He demands that she take him to Polaris. She seems happy that he's there and going after her so she helps him. Lincoln runs in the door and hugs Polaris. She doesn't know who he is, but she automatically feels safe with him. Polaris agrees to the help of getting her memories back. Polaris remembers everything. Including the time before Florintine's. She turns on her mother and father who showed up right before Lincoln. She says that she was sent to Florintine because of a deal her mother made.
Lincoln calls the rest of the group to let them know he and Polaris are alright. They come to Florida and have their little reunion. Bryony has been acting weird af. 2 of the gold coins have changed color and now the symbol on them has changed to represent the Savage Six. Polaris has to stay in Florida to make things seem normal and Lincoln goes back and acts like he didn't die. And lose his wolf.
It's a full moon wolf party off campus. Polaris gets to come in a disguise. All the wolves head out for their run and Polaris sits down while Blaze gets them food. The Crow shows up. He says she still owes him a deal because not only did he show her where the coins were, but he also gave her the info to let her know what happens when someone dies from the blood kin curse. Blaze rushes for her but is stopped by the vampire hemchman. Crow tells him to kill Blaze. Before he can, Tatum wolfs out and attacks the other vampire, ripping him to shreds. But not before a knife finds itself in his side. Blaze uses his blood to bring Tatum back but that means it's draining Blaze's life. Polaris heals Blaze with her blood. That makes 2 more of the coins change color. When any of them sacrifice something it seems.
Polaris goes back to Florida, the guys and Minnie go back to school. They all agree to keep an eye on Bryony. Tatum is watching her late at night and she sneaks out of Minnie's room, to the basement of the witches dorm, and has a meeting with her father about how she has been inflitrating Polaris's coven, shacking up with her best friend, blood kin with one of her men, and she even knows where Polaris is. To trust her to complete the job and the witches will come out on top. Her father is Professor Whittemore, the guy who's basically in charge.
Tatum tells the crew and they all ambush Bryony outside of the basement. They keep her there for quesioning.
Asher and Polaris stay together and The Crow pays them a visit. He says Asher's sacrifice is to 'bear the chains'. He then tells Asher to take his mask. The mask then attaches to Asher's head, releasing the old Crow and now on Asher. Putting darkness inside him. The old Crow tells them not to lose Bryony and to find Sian.
They lost Bryony but gor Sian. They all go back to the witch basement because that's probably where Bryony is. She is waiting with her mother and father and the other witches from her coven. They take control of Polaris, she starts levetating and her hair starts glowing. Her friends are all fighting with the witches. Asher, The Crow, comes in and starts killing the witches. Sian goes for Polaris. Wylder intercepts her and kills her. His sacrifice was to, 'guard the light.'
Polaris passes out.
When she wakes, the curse is broken. The original witch and her men are also free. Including Felix, who was The Crow. It was also his sacrifice to 'bear the chains'. He was also the orchestrater of the whole thing. He made sure Polaris went to Florintine, made sure Sian would attack her, that Tatum would kill the vampire to save Blaze and Blaze would sacrifice to save Tatum. He had been waiting for Polaris for a long time.
They are all free of the curse, all the other chlidren are being released from Florintine's, and the supernatural school is still in session to teach them.
HEA.

Ok- Whole series review

When this series started I was excited about the possible plot. Polaris seemed to be a bit of an introvert, but she still seemed to have a backbone and morals that she stuck to. She knew what was right for her and stuck to it. I don't know what happened when she was transferred to the other school. It's like she lost all sense of who she was. Like invasion of the body snatchers, she turned into a different persona. Gone was the Polaris with a backbone. She turned into a scared, easily manipulated and controlled little girl. It was really disappointing. What was even more disappointing was that she found out she was a witch and chose to keep her head in the sand. She made absolutely no effort to find out more about being a witch. For that matter, she did very little to learn about the other factions. I found that to be ridiculous. A whole new world was opened up to her and she made little to no attempt to learn about that world. As the story progressed, she was forced to learn things about the different factions. But it's like she was just along for the ride instead of becoming more.
Let's talk about the guys... Can I just say that Lincoln was an asshole? When Polaris gave him her virginity I was irritated with her, especially what he did afterwards. But then he behaves the exact same way later and Polaris allows it a second time. Seriously, that girl had no self esteem or pride. Fool me once and all that, you know? Blaze...while I ended up liking him later, can anyone say rape? While he didn't rape her in the sexual way, he used compulsion on her and bonded her without her knowledge. That alone put him on my bad list. I didn't have a problem with Tatum, Wylder, or Asher. They were ok.

While I did like the plot, I felt that the climax happened way too quickly. You go from a story that has dragged out over 4 books, to an ending within like 2 chapters. I read the final scene twice and still didn't completely grasp everything. Too much was going on and the explanation was minimal.
While I don't think the story was all bad. It did drag on quite a bit and Polaris was not a very strong "heroine". There could have been a bit more of an explanation about the world after curse being lifted. We could have gotten an explanation about why the coins went back to the original owners when they had already changed to become the Six Savages' coins. Also , what happened with Polaris’ parents? They just vanished and there was no closure. I didn’t care for the fact that Polaris didn’t get her power back either. That was kind of weird. How is she the leader of a coven without being a witch? 🤷‍♀️Basically, the story dragged on too long and the ending was too quick. The story was still entertaining and I don't regret reading it.

This final book of the series left me satisfied, now do I wish it left me more dessert and toppings…..Hell yeah. I will say this though, overall I am full.

Spice🌶: 4

Based of the spice level you readers, looking at this review, can assume there is not many spicy scenes or scenes with 2+ ppl. Thats okay though, this book explored more of the blood kin curse and its lore with the Savage Six.

Now lets get to why I rated it 4 stars.

Spoilers 👇 below you have been warned.

⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️Final warning ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

With everything the fmc has been through I felt that the betrayal of one of her best friends could have been avoided, as well as the death of an old friend. Think this book would had left me more than satisfied if the friend who betrayed our fmc and her group had switch back sides at the end.

Now the other biggest factor for my rating for the book. The fmc no longer has magic? Now I know what you might be thinking why the question mark. Well it was neither confirmed nor denied that the fmc has her magic powers back. As even Belladora, did not know for sure why our fmc can still see her markings. Belladora’s theory was it may be due to her being in a coven whose members are mated and devoted to her, a symbol of their love for one another. Now some readers might say this is a valid reason she can see her markings. Maybe she does not need to be a witch. Give our fmc a break, she grew up thinking she was human for her to find out she is a witch. Then she loses her magic and is human all over again.

Sacrifices, secrets and satisfying 😉
Oh my gosh I didn’t see some of those shocking twists coming at all 😳
This final book picks up immediately after the selfless sacrifice of Polaris and we see her men’s perspective of this and oh gosh it’s heart breaking 💔 especially as it’s apparent she knows nothing of her past life on ‘the other side’😫 thankfully it appears her five men and Minnie can pull it together and seemingly there are others willing to help them piece it all together 🥹 the coins are key and so is the long hidden prophecy 😮as more comes to light about what each of the savage six needs to do there are sacrifices required and characters with their own secrets pulling some strings 🙈 you’ll likely guess who the betrayer is but it’s clever how that fits to the wider story and the curse! The focus in this book was more on the plot than the seggs but don’t get me wrong there are still some saucy scenes 🔥🔥 and it’s clear her men will do anything for their girl in the actions each of them enact throughout this story 😍😍 I felt the bit with the parents needed a little more fleshing out as seemed to come a bit out the blue and then fizzle out again, but other than that it was a satisfying ending to this unique paranormal series 😃

I won’t lie to you, this definitely did drag on at times and got a little bit boring. Overall though, the twists that came in the last 25% of the book will have you at the edge of your seat.

I definitely did not see those pieces to the puzzle that were revealed in the end coming at all.

The guys and their love for Polaris is just as strong and well done in this book as the previous ones and is more than evident. I did appreciate that we got a completely likeable version of Lincoln the whole time for this book which is a nice change of pace from the first two.

The amount that these 6 people go through in this book and the series as a whole is a lot. While it is great that all of the guys and Minnie for the most part don’t end up with life changing effects that last forever, someone does and that actually kind of was disappointing?

I don’t see the point her parents had? Like the point of them being brought back in etc was not super relevant and I really thought they were going to be more important than they actually were.

It’s hard to pick a favorite guy when it comes to Polaris because they really are all fantastic and they each help bring out a side to her that they probably couldn’t on their own. Overall the series was really good, but the first 3 books are definitely the strongest.

I’ve always loved why-choose romances, but lately I’ve struggled to finish most series. Nothing has managed to hold my interest long enough to carry me through an entire series, until now.

Reading The Savage Six was an incredible experience. I fell in love with the author’s writing, with the characters, with the mysterious world she crafted, and with the beautiful romance at its center. It felt refreshing, immersive and genuinely special.

Unfortunately, the final book left me with a lingering sense of disappointment. Some elements felt underdeveloped, a few questions remained unanswered, and the pacing became noticeably rushed. The ending, in particular, could have been more thoughtfully constructed. Because of that, I’m giving this last book only 3 stars.

But looking at the series as a whole? I am absolutely in love. It has been a long time since I felt so deeply attached to a book, or so moved by the end of a story. I’m genuinely going to miss all of them, the bond between Minnie and Polaris, the surreal romance between the witch, the wolves and the vampire, and the world that captivated me from the very first page.

This series reminded me why I adore this genre in the first place.

With this book, the Savage Six series is complete. The first three books were amazing and I was so ready for this book.
I really liked about 75% of this book and practically speed read through it because I was so into it. I was a little disappointed after that. All the buildup, the twists and turns, anticipation, and constant fight to keep their coven together kept me enthralled as only KC Kean can.
However, all that build up led to a very hasty finish to this book and this series. I was expecting something epic, but instead it kind of just ended and with a couple of questions that went unanswered. I was a little disappointed. This was the reason for the four stars versus five.
Polaris losing her power after her death and not getting them back was unexpected and left me a little heartbroken for her. Helping to save the world should have given her back her powers but unfortunately that didn't happen. Minnie and all the guys were still great and I loved every character.
Ultimately, I would still very much recommend this book and, of course, this series.
Thank you to KC Kean for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

omg

I was balling my eyes out a majority of this book. Frick this was intense! But also so, so good! The Crow had me crying the most and damn I was not expecting that! I mean, I kind of hoped there was more to the pain Asher went through, but was I expecting that, I don’t think so! Just damn! This series had me from the jump and only got me even more as I went! I loved all of KC’s books I’ve written in the paranormal RH world, but this series had me the most! The only thing I’m sad about tbh is Bryony! I kind of always felt sketch about her, but when she got with Minnie, I really had stopped second guessing her and I guess that was the point, to throw us off her scent, but I’m really sad with Minnie and hate that she didn’t get a happy ending or at least the prospect of one on the horizon! But I am glad that the families of each were actually all decent! Yes some of them were dead and some were roped into bad things, but they all loved their kids and that’s new for me, I think, with a PNR RH so it was shocking and refreshing! I’m just sad it’s over, honestly! I really adored each and every one of them!

KC Kean is a supernatural Queen. All her books are amazing and her supernatural or fantasy books are just phenomenal. She has alot of heart in her books and her FMC'S are always so strong willed, never cowering and backing down but always standing firm in the beliefs of freedom, diversity and equality.

In this series Polaris was no exception, she stood firm and even sacrificed herself for those beliefs and for the ones she loved. She broke down walls she had up that she thought she needed to protect herself, she let others in and show her what life truly had to offer. No matter the hardships she faced alone or with her coven, Polaris has come out of them stronger. In this conclusion she faced her most difficulties in her short remembered life, but held on to hope with the love of her found family, and together they did what no one else could.

I highly recommend all books by KC Kean . If you haven't read any of her other books, go run and grab them. Their alllllllllll amazing.
