A final battle that will end in blood. Monique was taken. Ripped from Lei’s arms, thrown into the hands of the most dangerous man alive—his own father. And because of it. . .Monique may change.
Also, the final battle will happen. The East isn’t big enough for both father and son, and this time, only one will survive. Will Lei reclaim his queen and his throne? Or will he lose everything in the fight to end a dynasty?

This series was too long. The initial story was intriguing but having two POVs that only regurgitated what was happening may the books unnecessarily lengthy. Glad it’s over but frustrated that there are several threads/plots/ storylines of other characters that remain unresolved.
The first five books have been great. Never a dull moment. The FMC and MMC were awesome. Lei was a lot crazy and I loved the evolution of Moni. The East is awesome and wild and filled with tradition but ready for change. I wasn't sure how Lei's story was going to shape up, but his story is the best part of Paradise City. I can't wait for the other books in this series to drop. The sister's, the Aunts, Duck, Chen, Hu, the lady guards.... I need more. The ghost, the mystery, the drama that's coming. I won't ruin this which is why my review is the way it is. I want y'all to be intrigued and read these five books. The humor, the crazy, the love, the evolution, the loyalty, the understanding and never judging. These books were very good and I am ready for more. I want to see what happens next. I highly recommend this series. I'm ready for more of this wild crazy ride.
Screaming, laughing, crying. This series in general has had me in a chokehold. The characters are so complex and interesting and the plot points lead you by the nose. Once I started, I couldn’t stop and I got lucky enough to finish book 4 the day before this came out. And this? Absolutely fantastic in every way. Action, romance, steam, love, found family, this puppy has it all. Moni and Lei got the ending they deserved and the plot is tied up with a neat bow with room for growth (which I eagerly look forward to). Start from the beginning, work your way to the end, and then wait with bated breath like I am for the next installment in Paradise City.
This final part of the series is fantastic! There is love, steamy scenes, tension and drama wrapped beautifully together. Wright also alludes to the fact that we may see more from this world as there is another mystery we need to unravel. That’s exciting to know and I will be sure to read whatever Wright releases so I can help to unlock the keys of the puzzle. Sad this series came to an end.
I love this series and want more of the whole family and the friends. Because I see so many stories that are waiting to be told and take us on a wonderful adventure. I look forward to more books from this author. As always happy reading.😎
Before we get to that, Leo really lost his mind. He was ready to meet his maker, now that the yike is here, he thinks he can take Lei's place. His brother seesthis and still stands by and says nothing.
This book had me on edge because you can see wjere Leo is clearly crossing the line. Moni dont and never did wanted him in a romantic way, but he thinks he can remove Lei and insert himself. I was practically screaming at her not to accept that ring.
Then the cheating during the battle, the disrepect of Chanel's remains, he really lost it and Lei was still to nice if you ask me.
The battle reminded me a lityle if the fight scenes from Karate movies back in the day. Leo was one charcter in this book that i didn't trust at all and alerts knew he was up to no good even when trying to appear good. He orchestrated everything and then acted like it was all divine. He was a leader that lead by lying, manipulation and fear.
This story feels unfinised and I hope there is more to come. Now, I want to know more about the lake and Shanghi.
It’s the fifth and final book in the Ruthless Legacy series. I thought I had thoroughly prepared myself, but I was mistaken. After the ending of the Sweet Dominion, I knew the readers were in for a wild ride. We immediately get back into action and make the remaining preparations for the final battle. Lei and Monique continued to be tested both mentally and physically while keeping their growing relationship. I won’t spill major spoilers, but I will say I felt all the emotions while reading. Some scenes and characters had me on the edge of my seat. Although the action was intense, the author included several heartwarming and steamy scenes. Just when I thought I had something or someone figured out, a key twist proved me wrong. I am overjoyed that Lei and Monique finally got that well-deserved HEA. Overall, I really enjoyed the story and the amazing world-building from the author. I am patiently looking forward to the next adventure from the author.
I devoured the entire book series within a mere fortnight, finding myself completely captivated from start to finish. The compelling narrative of Monique and Lei's transformative journey resonated deeply with me, drawing me into their world and emotional landscape. Their story was so engaging that I found it nearly impossible to set the books down. The depth of their experiences and the intricate development of their relationship left me thoroughly invested in their tale. Moreover, I am earnestly hoping that the author will continue this remarkable series, potentially exploring more of these characters' lives and adventures in future installments. The potential for further exploration is tantalizing, and I am eagerly anticipating any potential sequels or additional volumes that might expand upon this rich and immersive narrative.
I don’t know…this was not my favourite book in this series. Moni pissed me off too much. She just didn’t fight against Leo enough for me. Maybe she would end up at the same place inevitably, but still. She is not from their world. There should have been more pushback when it came to doing these terrible things.
I’m also all for women empowerment and black women empowerment— but this quote (and many similarly worded quotes) as she is about to go execute a bunch of people she doesn’t know irked my soul :
“Black women have carried the weight of the world for centuries, holding it up on their backs while daring it to break them. You’re not just Monique tonight. You’re every fighter. Every survivor who chose life, even when it was hard.”
Like please girl. You’re not taking one grand step forward for black women. You’re about to commit murder, after already committing various murders like twenty minutes ago.
Sigh. I still want to read the rest of the series, if there is more. I do really like the characters and the world that’s been created throughout the past five books.

That was an emotional rollercoaster and I was here for every dip and turn! The events in this last book were not on my bingo card, but let me tell you how much I yelled, cried, and threw my e-reader across the room! I am so glad this ended well for Moni and Lei because they needed this especially with Leo’s crazy tail at every corner scaring the crap out of everyone! I also loved the story in the story with The Crownsville Bandit. I would definitely like to read more of that. All and all, this was a 5/5 not notes (aside from a few typos and the mix up of which ladies in waiting being with Hu and Chen), this is a must read - all 5 books and in order! Do not try to skip 1 or read them any kind of way!
I just finished Book four and dived right into Book five which did not disappoint Again Kenya outdid herself with this final segment with the fight between Leo and Lei It was so realistic that you felt you were there Leo was a true insane monster, but at the end he got what he deserved As always this was a page turner, Full of twists and turns and non stop action. I finished it this morning after starting it yesterday. I couldn’t wait to see how it all turned out I don’t want to give anything away so I am going to stop now but you will regret not reading this book I look forward to reading books about Jo, Chen, Duck, and Hu, let’s not forget the Aunts. Are you listening Kenya. Appreciate you and your writing skills.
Book 5 was exactly want I wanted! The final battle, the growth, the push and pull of good and bad with moni, the ABSOLUTE vulnerability and obsession from Lei. Chef kiss!! Not much spice in this one but the battle was so jammed packed that when those intimate scenes came up, it was more intense special. I literally felt like I was in the stands watching it all go down with Leo and Lei! You definitely see another side to Leo more human , despite the terror he has filled the East with. You see the fear finally. One thing about Moni she is a ride or die! I can’t wait to read more about the bandit and hopefully we get more insight on the ladies in eating and Chen, Duck, and Hu! Another great series Kenya !
This book took my breath away! I wasn't ready. I thought that it was going to be a simple battle between Lei and Leo, but oh no, I was not ready for the twist. Leo made my skin crawl. When he started obsessing over Moni, that was the final straw. I was going to give him a little grace. He had done all of this for Lei and Moni so that they could rule in his absence. But then he took this weird turn, and he had to die. Lei and Moni are perfect together, and I know we have not heard the last from them. Who's up next, Banks, Marcello, Dima's second act? I can't wait! 😊
I don't think I can say more about how I loved the two MC- Lei and Moni. Glad we get an HEA and finish to their story. I loved the plot twists and surprises during the read. KW released it a little sooner than the original release date for the books, but they were sooooo good. I can see a continuation of their story. I can also see books/new series for Chen and Duck, they were awesome characters that brought humor and more context to the story. Would love to see more, KW did her thing
.all I could think was that together, our bond was unbreakable
I loved this series, drama on top of drama, sizzling hot with family…friends and foes. Ms. Kenya did her thang once again and I’m very appreciative for all the hard work and dedication she puts into her books. I can’t wait to reread especially Dima’s story. Leo knew he was doing to much and since I don’t like giving a story away, you’ll have to read and see what I’m talking about. You won’t be disappointed, I wonder what’s next after this BECAUSE I know things didn’t end this way.
Loved, loved LOVED how this series ended. I was ever so glad to see an end to Leo's depravity ESPECIALLY when he tried to steal his son's woman! 😧😧😧 My girl Moni came to the rescue thanks to Dima.👏👏 Now, it seems there are a few things unsettled. I'm wondering whose book they'll be resolved in, a second Mafia Flower book, a third book featuring Kashmere & Santino or something entirely new? We've got to see TT solve the Bandits buried treasure. I'm here for it!
But please please give us more we just have to know what comes next ,and even tho Leo died, his death should have been10times worse for all the hurt and pain he cause Lei and Moni and so many others .I have so many questions what happens with Song does he find someone too? How will draining the dream lake effect everyone involved and will that cause a drift between what Fragile peace that they now have ?Regardless of all these unanswered questions one this is for sure do you a favor and read this series it like all other Kenya books want disappoint.
Wow! This final installment was full of suspense! I worried about what kind of mental state both Lei and Moni would be in after this was over! Leo is a diabolical mastermind, but, he couldn’t completely factor in Moni’s responses or her tenacity to protect Lei and her sisters!
This book has heart stopping action from beginning to end. The battle scenes are epic!! I highly recommend and give this 5 stars!!
Another great book. The whole series is amazing. Still want to know what is going to happen with the Diamond Syndicate. Will the lake get drained? And all that comes with that. Can't wait. I absolutely love Ms. Wright's books, going back to An arrangement of love when it first came out. Taking a chance at a new author and haven't been disappointed in all these years. Just thank you for your brilliance. Can't wait for the next. 🤗
I don't know how to feel..... I loved this series and I'm happy that Lei and Moni got their HEA but I don't want it to end!! The fight scene was wild!!! Was on pens and needles the whole time!! How Banks, Dima and Marcy worked together for Moni when she needed to help Lei. How Moni was ready to take Leo out to save her man!!!! Kenya Write knows how to write a book, develop characters, create scenes and keep you invested from beginning to end!!!
I absolutely love this entire series. I do want a more interesting ending or if not a slight follow up book that just gives me more of an ending. I still appreciate the character the storyline how it all ended like I said I just wanted a little bit more for the ending, but I’m also satisfied with the ending.
I got nervous this final book would not live up to my expectation but its probably my favorite of the whole series! I knew Leo was crazy and was willing to feel bad for him but i didn’t know that man was weird too! He stressed me out 😩😂. The scenes were so vivid and detailed- i felt like i was there. Very well written book !!
This series was everything! I loved Moni and Lei together. Their relationship was straight combustible. I rooted for them all the way through. I knew Leo had more then fatherly feelings for Moni. He had some straight cringe worthy moments, especially in this last book, but was the perfect villain. This series is a must read totally captivating.
Encore a fabulous book, A wonderfully marvelous series. Soooo much happened and soooooo much didn't happen with sooo much to come. I can see so many stories to come from all angles linked to the Diamond Syndicate north, south, east and west so many mysteries and secrets to unveil...bring it mz.Kenya
I want another book. I want to know what happens in Shanghai, with the Killer Crows, Rowe Street and TT and the Crownsville/Dream Lake mystery and Dima. I'm ready for all that and I'm 70 so let's set it off. Thank you, it was so enjoyable that I haven't slept a whole 4 hours a day since I started reading this series.
I loved the book to the point I wished it never ends I don't know if it will continue or not but I haven't had enough yet. The book is good just like the rest of your work
I wish the series didn’t end! I really need a spin off for Kashmere now and what happens with the lake. And i definitely need more backstory with that! I loved this series! I cried, laughed and gasped and threw my phone all the way to end!
All I’m going to say about this series is, when is this going to be made into a movie. 🥰 Yes please!!! I haven’t been this thoroughly entertained with anything since the Saint series by Tiana Laveen. 💕
Better than any motion picture amazing from beginning to end I love how everything came together and Leo. gotta read every book to understand it. Amazing work thank you so much Kenya Wright looking forward to your next series of books
