Just when I thought that we were out of the woods, trouble finds me again.
Koen’s encounter with his ex-wife raises concerning questions, and I can’t help but seek answers I didn’t want to get. Lies and doubts drive a wedge between us, and suddenly, the mate I trusted feels like a stranger.
But I don’t have the luxury of sorting through my feelings—because the Elder Council has come knocking on my door. They want to force me out of hiding, under the risk of exposing my pack’s secret if I don’t.
The paradise I glimpsed shatters, slipping through my fingers like quicksilver, burning as it goes. And this time, I can’t count on Koen. How could I, when he’s part of the reason I can’t think straight?
With the weight of my kind’s legacy pressing down on me, I have no choice but to act. Love or duty—one must fall. And if I must stand alone to protect my pack, then so be it.
“But I swear, I will follow you through hell and back. I don’t care if the flames swallow me. As long as I die by your side, it’ll have been worth it.”
Framed and Forgotten takes the emotional tension built in the first two books and puts it under a magnifying glass. There’s a charm in the smaller subplots woven throughout the story—the little side moments that give the pack and the world more personality—but I still found myself wishing more of them pushed the main plot forward instead of lingering in circles.
What really carries this book is the character work. This is where we see the real struggles of a relationship: not just the rush of falling in love, but the pain of betrayal, the weight of doubt, and the effort it takes to rebuild trust. Louise Clément writes Koen in a way that makes you feel Avril’s whiplash—one page you’re furious with him, ready to throw him out with the trash, and the next you’re reminded why you fell for him in the first place. It’s maddening and addictive, and it puts you firmly in her shoes.
“You’re mine, Avril,” I growled against her neck. “And I’m yours...They can try to bewitch me, and you can try to forget. But right here-” I pressed my palm between her breasts, right over her racing heart. “We’ll always know we belong with each other.”
I also loved that we got more depth into Koen’s backstory here, especially his history with his ex. It adds nuance to his choices and makes his attempts at redemption feel earned—not easy, not perfect, but believable. Those layers make his softer moments land with twice the impact.
If you love emotional angst with high stakes, and romance tangled in pack politics and past mistakes, this book will give you exactly the kind of delicious tension you’re craving😍
“Destiny was such a funny thing. I thought I could outrun it, but the universe led me back to Koen.”
As an avid reader, I thought I have almost read it all. This book, however, introduced some scenarios that I haven’t read before in any other book making it standout to me immediately. Just when you thought you understood what was going to happen, a new plot twist reared its head. To say I was shocked, was quite an understatement.
Where this book really shines though is with how the audience connects with the characters. While you read, you begin to feel every emotion the characters are feeling. For me, it was as if I was in Avril shoes the whole time (however she is definitely more patient than I am).
The best part of this series is watching Avril and Koen’s relationship strengthen throughout the turbulence and uncertainty. Unlike some of the other books I have read, their relationship seems very much like a real-life one. It’s not always smooth sailing and laughter, it’s relying on each other through the hardships and working together to solve them. You cannot help but root for these two despite everything.
I cannot wait to see what Louise reveals in the next one- I am on the edge of my seat over here!
Framed and Forgotten is the third book in Louise Clement’s Ashen Wolves series, and it blends fantasy with deep emotional conflict. The story follows the protagonist as Koen, a former partner, returns and stirs up old wounds just as the Elder Council threatens to expose the pack’s secrets. The novel explores the tension between love and duty, asking whether personal happiness can survive when the fate of an entire community is at risk. With its mix of drama, loyalty, and sacrifice, the book keeps readers hooked and highlights the difficult choices that define both relationships and leadership.
I flew through this book in just one day—it completely had me hooked from start to finish. I was so emotionally torn, especially when it came to what was best for the “pup” and how that could ever work with a mate. My heart went out to Avril and Koen the whole way through. Then the twists hit! There were so many tense moments that had me gasping out loud, and the action toward the end was incredible. This series just keeps getting better, and now I feel at such a loss waiting for book 4. I’m way too invested to stop here—I need to know what happens next!

Always a delight to ARC read for the wonderfully talented Louise Clement! I honestly think this may be my favorite book in the series so far! The way I laughed, cried, and wanted to throw my kindle across the room at times I just couldn’t get enough!

This installment hurts just a little bit. Be prepared for a roller coaster of emotions. Hope, betrayal, devastation, and comfort swirl together throughout. I can’t wait to see how everything ends up in the final installment.
I devoured the third book! It didn't even last 24 hours. The tension and groveling were everything! I can't wait for the next book to come out! I'm interested in seeing what the goddess has in store and what life in Lykara looks like for them!

I am so deeply invested in this world!! I can't wait to see where it takes us next! This book definitely broke my heart in places and then pieced it back together! The journey Avril & Koen's relationship takes in this book is a rollercoaster but one I would ride a million times!!!
Okay waited quite a hot minute for this book and ahh it did not disappoint! We picked right we left off and even though I did not do a reread I remembered everything that had happened previously and this book just came out swinging. I finished it in one sitting! Did not stop until I was done because that’s how hooked it had me! There were many plot twists that I did not see coming and man so surprised! Overall this book was amazing and ugh you did us dirty again on the end but not as dirty as last time so I will be patiently waiting for book 4!! 🥰🥰
Wow! I have been rooting for Koen and Avril and enjoyed watching them as their relationship grew. But man…that curveball with the kid…I wasn’t expecting any of that and the direction it went but I loved every minute of it! I was sad when it was over and I can’t wait to read what happens next!
I received an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. And I’d like to point out, this is my first wolf shifter series that I’ve read.
I am still hooked. I’ve read every book of this series in one setting, and this one doesn’t change that! I could NOT put it down!
The plot twists were twisty and I couldn’t see all of them coming! Not a lot of books have achieved that with me, so I’m loving it!
This author has a gift. When a character was feeling pain, I felt that pain. When a character was feeling angry, I felt that anger. When a character felt hopeless, I felt it in my soul. I’m amazed by how well someone was able to put those feelings into words that perfectly summed up those feelings.
I can’t wait for the next one! And I’ll definitely be watching this author for more of her books!
When I was emailed to get an ARC, I was beyond excited!! Book 2 ended on a major cliffhanger! The first part of the book is focused on this new plot aspect, then it gets complicated fast! I was eagerly turning each page...stayed up to find out the solution! We continue to follow our Ashen wolves as they strive to build up their pack while staying in secret. However, not everyone is thrilled to learn they may be getting strong again.... Annnnd you add in the crazy ex....
The emotions this book dragged me through?? Unreal. One minute I’m ready to throw my Kindle across the room, the next I’m crying and clutching it like a lifeline. Louise has mastered the art of emotional whiplash…in the best way. The tension, the betrayal, the impossible choices… I felt everything. And just when I thought I could breathe again, I’m left reeling with another cliffhanger. I hate that I have to wait for the next one, but OMG…I already know it’s going to be worth it. Absolutely hooked.

FMC and MMC are finally together. However, there is a new situation the fact that the MMC might have a child with his ex-wife. But is it his child? Is there more to the story? And as the MMC spends more and more time with this child and his ex-wife what will that do to the FMC and her pack.
Review: Here we are on book 3 and we have one more book left. I find myself still as engaged as I was while reading the first book. I found myself very upset with the MMC but understood that to have everything going perfect would make this a boring book. The mistakes he makes adds interests and helps to continue on the story. The FMC shows that she is still strong, but she too is not perfect. I look forward to the next book-the conclusion.

Framed & Forgotten is the third installment in the Ashen Wolves series by Louise Clément, offering a compelling blend of romance, mystery, and supernatural intrigue. The story delves into the complexities of trust and duty as the protagonist faces escalating challenges, including a strained relationship with her mate, Koen, and pressure from the Elder Council. Clément excels in character development, portraying the protagonist's internal conflicts and growth, while the dynamics between the characters add layers to the story's emotional impact. Her writing is engaging, with a good balance between action and introspection, and the pacing keeps readers hooked from start to finish. The immersive world-building enhances the overall experience, making this a strong addition to the Ashen Wolves series. Fans of the series will find this installment satisfying, and newcomers may be intrigued to explore the earlier books.
I think my jaw was on the floor this whole book. The cliffhanger from the last book was brutal, I was anxiously awaiting this book and it did not disappoint. This was my favorite so far!
"𝕐𝕠𝕦'𝕣𝕖 𝕞𝕚𝕟𝕖, 𝔸𝕧𝕣𝕚𝕝.”
It was INTENSE! Everytime I thought I knew where it was going, it went a different direction. I was so mad at a certain MMC for so long. Then I just felt bad.
To say I was feeling so many different emotions reading this would be an understatement. Seriously read this series!! It’s amazing. I absolutely love Avril. Such a strong character. I really love Koen too. These two just melt my heart.

💚Book three in a series 🐺He falls first 🌻Fated mates 💚Slow burn 🐺Rejection 🌻Strong fmc 💚Touch her and d!3 🐺Shifters
What a roller coaster of emotions. I was all over the place with this book!
Avril and Koen have a whole new list of complaints as they have to deal with him discovering he has a pup with his ex-wife. First, I was mad at Avril for not giving Koen time to figure things out, then mad at Koen for slipping further away because of the pup. Then Avril tries to forget all about Koen, which makes me angry at her and then at Koen for putting her in that position.
All the while, Koen discovers that his ex-wife is lying and trying to get him back, while the pup is his twin brother's pup (he hadn't even known he had one!). Then he and Avril can piece a relationship back together while realizing they have to leave their home because too many people know their kind exists now.... just wow...this book just came out and I cannot wait for the fourth one!

When I tell you I devoured this book, I literally could not put it down! I was graced with an advance copy to review, and it did not disappoint! So many twists and turns and moments that just stunned you! I love the dual POV of Avril and Koen, both characters have so much depth and are so well done, Louise continues to keep you enthralled with their stories. When it comes to light that Koen has a pup with his ex-wife (allegedly), it throws Avril and Koen's relationship into a whirlwind. With Koen trying to be a good dad while Avril works to keep the Ashen wolves a secret, can their two goals truly align? When Koen starts acting more and more distant Avril takes drastic measures to keep her focus and keep the pack protected, but at what cost? The need for the next book is a real problem!

Framed and Forgotten by Louise Clement The third installment in the Romantasy Series does not disappoint. While it ends on a cliffhanger, it finally answers the burning questions left behind in book two—making it a must-read continuation.
Louise Clement expands the Ashen Wolves world with even more depth, pulling you further into the dangerous, intoxicating journey of Avril and Koen. The chaos, the torment, and the battles they face in this book will leave you breathless, constantly wondering what comes next.
Will they survive the storm and find love—or will the darkness consume them? You’ll have to dive into book three to find out.
Framed and Forgotten is book three of the Ashen Wolves Series.
Boy, there were a number of times throughout this book that I wanted to give Koen a good ol' smack across the head. I understand his actions weren't necessarily his own, but did he annoy me. But like she always does, Avril showed a lot of strength and resilience through this trying time. We get a lot of secrets revealed and some of the storyline gets summed up. But now we have something even bigger going to happen in the next book.
"I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.” Framed and Forgotten Avril and Koen—our destined fated mates—have endured so much, and watching their trials and tribunals unfold is utterly heartbreaking. The sadness, anger, tension, and raw emotion are palpable throughout. The plot is brilliant, filled with twists and turns you never see coming. I’m thrilled there’s a fourth book on the horizon (and hopefully more 😇). This series is a must-read for anyone who loves fantasy, wolves, and fated mates—absolutely addictive and guaranteed to leave you craving more. 💛
This series has been a guilty pleasure from the start. The story made me keep reading and wanting to know more. This book is so good. The beginning with the miscommunications happening AGAIN, I was so concerned but then it twists and turns and kept going.
Is it a little telenovela like? Yes but that's what made it so good. The fight scene? Thank you for the evil bad guy who talks to much. I appreciated how it was done.
I cannot wait for the next one. This series keeps getting better and I have to know what happens next.
Avril and Koen have always meant to be together. I hate to see all of their struggles but they stick together. I may be slightly obsessed with wolf shifters and this book ( series ) did not disappoint. Book 3 picks up exactly where books 2 left off and this story is amazing. The twists and turns definitely kept me interested in the book and I missed a little sleep finishing it! I received an advance review copy at no cost and am leaving this review voluntarily. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Louise does it again. Another book in the Ashen Wolves series that is captivating and leaving me saying WTF that can’t be the end.
Framed and Forgotten was unexpected from the start and truly carried out through the whole book. I could never predict what was next. It was great. And we got to see more of Koen and figuring him out when put in some challenging moments.. again.
“This time, you’ll submit to your King.” “I don’t submit to anyone” To me, and only me, you do.” 🤤🤤
UGH!!!! I swear, the whiplash from these cliffhangers are killing me!!!!! I needed more of Koen and Avril, more of them trying to fix their bond. I just needed more!!!! This third instalment was an emotional rollercoaster. And to be honest, If i was Avril, I probably would have done the spell too. Can’t believe i have to wait til 2026 though for the finale.
I didn’t think it could get crazier and it did! Koen is torn between fatherhood and being an Alpha. The plot kept twisting. I was so scared for Avril. I’m glad she and Koen are okay. The Ashen Wolves are doing what they must to survive. I’m excited for the next and final book in this series.
Koen and Avril have been through a lot, but I've really started to strongly dislike Koen in this book. However, the twist caught me completely off guard. I'm not sure how the Ashen wolf pack, along with Koen and Avril, will manage to survive if they’re discovered. I need the next book now!
I am still hooked in this series! I absolutely couldn’t put it down! The plot was amazing and you definitely can’t see all the twists coming! When a character was feeling pain or anger or anything, you can truly feel those feelings yourself! I can't wait for the next one!
I crushed this in a day! So much angst, so much drama, so much Koen & Avril (the good and the bad). I felt like Louise put my heart through the wringer with this one, and I will happily come back for more. 💔
