A Horde of Dead Poets

In the Haunts of Goblin Men

Rate this book
Esther and Kitty grew up hearing tales of the goblins who live in the woods bordering their town. Stories they believed were nothing more than silly superstitions, fables meant to scare children into good behavior.

Until the people they love most are brutally murdered.

With only a bowl of goblin fruit left behind, the sisters are about to learn that the wicked creatures are all too real.

And The Goblin King has a vengeful appetite that must be sated.

In the Haunts of Goblin Men is a standalone installment in A Horde of Dead Poets collection featuring seven authors and their stories inspired by famous literary poems. If you find yourself steering toward a dark, mysterious, isolated location, or family curses haunt you and unreliable narrators keep you in suspense, you won’t want to miss a single volume in this gripping collection.

Perfect for fans of T. Kingfisher, Simone St. James, Stephen King, and Shirley Jackson.

I spend my days consumed by words and hoping to one day find my own DeLorean time machine. My life consists of avoiding migraines, admiring Bonsai trees, watching classic movies, and living with my husband and daughter in Texas—where it can be forty degrees one day and eighty the next!

This was so good. I loved Esther and Kitty, and my heart broke for them for all that they lost. They deserved peace and happiness. That is not what found them. I am all for disappearing into a magical world, but I will definitely steer clear of the goblins and their land. Esther was so brave. I was actually creeped out walking through my dark house last night after reading about all she saw and experienced in the goblin land. This story was beautifully tragic, and it will stick with me.

In the Haunts of Goblin Men was a great, dark tale perfect for Halloween. I enjoyed the story told from the perspectives of two sisters, about what happens when the goblins from their childhood folklore turn out to be all too real.

This story was beautifully gothic! I really enjoyed reading this story about two sisters and their fight for survival. I found myself screaming a few times as I witnessed the sheer terror of what was going on and knowing I had no way of stopping it. Great read that will keep you enthralled!

Cool gothic vibe! 2 sisters are on a spooky adventure through goblin lands after a deeply traumatic event. They thought the goblins were things of myth, but they are in for an unwanted surprise. Enjoyed the whole vibe to the story. Uniquely entertaining!

What a great book. I love how this story came together. The characters, Esther and Kitty were written beautifully. And throw in a land with goblins! It was just an amazing read
