The action is hot...both in and out of the bedroom
Hidden Attraction is the third book in the SEAL Team Blackout Charlie series. This book is a thrill-ride wrapped around a romance and it does it to perfection. The story finds Alyssa Vargas on a list that will see her dead before long. But that is before Julian "Cobra" Cross, a Navy SEAL Special Operative, who will do everything that is needed to see she, and he, survive this. The overarching story-line of this series continues with Cypher still pulling strings which the Blackout Charlie team is trying to figure out and then put an end to. Along the way to that Alyssa and Julian fall hard for each other, I mean how could they not after all they are fighting for their lives and the attraction is palpable. I can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens next with the men of this SEAL team.

Julian realizes that the former Echo team is dying under mysterious circumstances. He views to find out who is responsible. He is determined to protect Alyssa. Lines become blurred and feelings are caught. While trying to survive, Julian and Alyssa will have to admit what they feel.

This is book three of the SEAL Team Blackout Charlie series and the main characters are Special Operative Jullian Chase aka Cobra and the ambassador to Mexico, he is sent to protect, Alyssa Vargas. He saw her years ago when he was performing security details in Syria where she was appearing to help get some hostages freed, but she never saw him. Chase used to be part of the SEAL team Echo, but lost all but one of the members of the team when they all died in a helicopter crash in Syria. He was absent from the mission with a broken leg and one other team member who was on leave at the time, died almost a year later in a car crash. About the same time, a Red Cross location in Syria was destroyed in a bomb explosion. Chase and Alyssa are linked because of these past events and Chase soon finds out that someone, likely the terrorist known as Cypher, is targeting him. The bomb that his team had previously been following, but had lost sight of, had just been used to blow up an ICE processing site in Mexico, that had formerly been the Echo team’s base. After picking up Alyssa and her assistant Kennedy from their plane, along with his teammate Denver, they were to take them to the UN HQ, for her to meet with the secretary general about the recent bombing. On the way, they stopped at the hotel to drop off the ladies luggage, but were attacked as they left, with someone somehow knowing exactly when they were leaving, and the target was both Chase and Alyssa! Cypher wants them both for some reason. Denver had warned Chase not to get involved with Alyssa, but it seems like the recent rule breaking about relationships in the team, has just found another match!
With such a close call with the attack, Chase decides to take the women to their secret base location, where they can be questioned and better protected until the team can figure out who is after them and how they knew of the team’s exact movements for the attack to take place. Someone had to have leaked their location, so both women will be questioned, but Chase finds it hard to think Alyssa had any involvement in the attack. The attackers had said they were after the SEAL’s, as well as Alyssa, which leaves Chase believing he has brought Echo’s problem to his new team, Charlie. His commander, Con, believes Cypher was behind the bombing of the ICE facility and that creates a link between the terrorist and the Echo team, Chase’s former team. Con sends Chase and Alyssa to Syria to work out why they are being targeted and what event caused this escalation. They only crossed paths when Echo team were sent to secure the area where Alyssa was negotiating for the release of some hostages, including a high-profile journalist, who Alyssa never saw again and didn’t know what had happened to her. They both feel guilt as they were dealing with the hostage negotiation, when the attack on the Red Cross facility happened and people died. Chase wants someone else to go to Syria with her, but his boss is right and it has to be him. If he has any interest in Alyssa, he just needs to remind himself that she is a diplomat and travels the world, whilst he is a ghost and doesn’t exist!
Alyssa is annoyed to find herself at their secret base and separated from her assistant, but seeing how close she was to being kidnapped and the SEALs killed, she is thankful for their protection. They end up in a safehouse in Syria, near the airbase where the helicopter flew from and the Red Cross facility that was bombed. They need to question the staff who were there at that time and try to figure out who was responsible for those attacks and also try to track down any connections with Cypher. There are plenty of people hiding secrets from that time an they will need to root them out and get some answers. They are pretty obvious targets in Syria, sticking out like a sore thumb, but at least Chase has different vehicles for them every time they go out, through their many contacts, even a scooter when they leave their car at the airbase. As they spend more and more time together, their feelings for each other explode into sexual chemistry and she pushes him to accept that she wants him, no matter what the future might hold. They spend their time in steamy sessions or out questioning people and checking out the sights, whilst Chase keeps his instincts primed for any danger. A silly mistake by Alyssa leaves her in danger and Chase will do all he can to get her back, as his heart already belongs to her and he isn’t willing to give her up without a fight! Chase will need the help of their hacker back at home to help crack who was tracking Alyssa and also to break into the computers on the airbase, to obtain records for when the crash happened. It is them he will turn to for help when Alyssa gets in trouble and whilst they can’t provide him physical support, they have other ways of helping him track her and save the day!
Each story brings together a ghost and a woman they should never get involved with, but rules are to be broken and it started with their boss, Con, so who is he to deny his feelings. Lots of action, as well as the romance, all in a thriller of a setting. I look forward to seeing who finds their match in the next of the series. Julian "Cobra" Chase is a Special Operative, and the newest member of SEAL Team Blackout Charlie. Originally a member of SEAL Blackout Echo, he became the last man standing among his friends and fellow comrades when he was off on medical leave at the time their helicopter chopper went down during a mission. At first it seemed a freak accident, but after a car crash killed the other remaining member of his team, it's clear that the members of Echo Team are being hunted.
Alyssa Vargas is a Diplomat and the U.S. Ambassador of Mexico. Only 30 years old, her career was catapulted up the ranks when she was able to successfully get released a prominent female journalist while working in Syria as a hostage negotiator. SEAL Team Echo was there that day, guarding Alyssa while she diffused the volatile situation. Chase was more than impressed with what he saw. Alysa was calm and collected under the most extreme stress, and of course, he couldn't miss how incredibly beautiful she was as well.
When a bomb goes off destroying Team Echo's former base, coupled with a failed kidnapping attempt on Alyssa, it becomes apparent that Cypher has marked Alyssa and Chase for elimination. With targets on their back, Chase becomes Alyssa's bodyguard. Together they head back to Syria to try to discover the answers linking multiple instances together: the downed SEAL chopper and a bombing of a Red Cross center which occurred at the same time in Syria as the hostage negotiation attended by both Chase and Alyssa.

Julian Chase (AKA Cobra) is a member of SEAL Team Blackout Charlie, after his former team called ECHO was killed in helicopter crash in Syria while he was on sick leave because of broken leg. He and Denver were tasked with security detail of American Ambassador to Mexico, Alyssa Vargas after his former base in New Mexico was blown up by bomb from terrorist called Cypher...was being used by ICE for facility to handle immigrants, with bomb killing forty-one Mexican citizens and staff members. Cobra recognized Alyssa from Syria where he was tasked of being part of security detail while she was negotiating for hostage release of journalist. I really enjoyed reading Hidden Attraction . Julian Chase (Cobra ) was part of the Blackout Echo team . He now is a member of Blackout Charlie . Almost everyone in Echo team Died when their chopper crashed several years ago . Julian was off on leave with a broken leg . The terrorist Cypher they were after was behind the crash . Julian believes that he's next on the list because he's the last man standing and he's afraid maybe Charlie team may be targeted . Julian is assigned to guard the Ambassador of New Mexico Alyssa Vargas after a bomb they have been searching for blew up the very building that previously housed the Echo team . As Julian works to protect Alyssa and keep her safe their attraction and feelings grow . This story is outstanding full of suspense and intrigue. I highly recommend taking the time to read .

Buried in guilt....
Wrapped in silence....
Shaded by grief.
Julian and Alyssa may be searching for long buried truths, but they both carry their own secrets and their own guilt. And although they act on the chemistry exploding between them, they give no promises to each other and expect no future, which I find very sad for two who have given so much of themselves for the safety of others and the good of the country. It is so bittersweet to see them find each other but think they cannot have anything beyond the here and now.
Thankfully Blackout Charlie don't play by the rules and finding your soul mate is accepted and embraced, but Cypher is still out there, still targeting Charlie and they are no closer to finding him....yet.
A great addition to the series, I look forward to Denver's book next and hope his ongoing head injury doesn't sideline him at a critical moment. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Hidden Attraction is the third book in the Blackout Charlie series and tells the story of Cobra/Chase and Alyssa, an American ambassador to Mexico. They first had contact when Alyssa, then a hostage negotiator, successfully negotiated the release of hostages in Syria. Years later, Blackout Charlie, specifically Cobra, is assigned to the ambassador, to protect her while she is drawn into the search for Cypher. Cypher is responsible for the downing of Echo company's helicopter, killing all on board, as well as the bombing of a Red Cross building. As Chase and Alyssa race across the globe, their search for the perpetrator of these heinous acts brings them back to Syria. Will they finally discover the identity of Cypher or lose their lives trying?
Em Petrova has written a high stakes romantic suspense that will have one pulling for the good guys and clenching the edge of the seat!

SEAL Special Operative Julian Chase, Cobra, has been on the Blackout Charlie team for a couple of years. Members of his former team, Echo, died in a mysterious helicopter crash in Syria, three years ago. Two years ago, the only other member of Echo team died in a mysterious car accident. Cobra knows the team was targeted. Cobra and diplomat Alyssa Vargas are the only two people left from a hostage negotiation in Syria three years ago.
Cobra and Alyssa are thrown together to try to uncover Cypher’s endgame. They are headed to Syria together. Alyssa knows seven languages and has exceptional people skills as a diplomat and former negotiator. Cobra needs her help to find out who tried to kidnap them in New York and why Echo team died in the Syrian helicopter crash.
Another great adventure for members of Team Charlie. I knew the sparks would fly between Alyssa and Cobra.

We've seen glimpses in other stories of Julian Chase/Cobra and the pain and guilt he carries over being the lone survivor of Blackout Charlie team. In this story, we get a behind the scenes account as he is assigned as a bodyguard to Alyssa Vargas. What Cobra isn't sure of is whether Alyssa is in danger because being with him puts her in the crosshairs of the criminal(s) who killed his team or maybe she has been in danger this whole time. In every story, a Blackout Charlie falls for the person he is assigned to protect but the various ways each team member falls for "the one" never gets boring and this story is no different! The hint of danger that is always "just outside" of every interaction between Alyssa and Julian kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last reveal. Great story!.

I loved the action and romance in this book. Alyssa and Julian were such a brilliant couple. So well matched.
When Ambassador Alyssa Vargas is targeted she and operative Julian Chase are sent to Syria to investigate.
The romance was especially good between these two. Both seemed to be on the same wave length about what they wanted and trying to not get attached. But knowing full well they were caught early on.
The layers of story and the intriguing plot really pulled me in. So well written with great action sequences and characters that were both intense and fun.
A must read this book is. Can't wait for more!!.

Blackout team Charlie is thrilling, mysterious, and enthralling. I loose myself in the story as they continue to search out Cypher and team members find their love. Julian and Alyssa are intriguing characters, with her knack for language and people while Julian has the skills for blending in they work so well together. This highly charged story takes you across the world, with a romance that burns hot. Although the story line with the Cypher continues from each book, each book has its own romance and thrilling story of two people brought together to solve several mysteries, flush out the traitors and bring Charlie team one step closer to saving their country. I love it.

Chase and Alyssa make a great team, especially once they get out of their own way. It is easy to see the connection between the special operative and the ambassador from the first dangerous moments they encounter. I love how strong, independent and capable Alyssa seems but I also love her vulnerability. I love how Chase proves to be not only protective and determined but also soft and loving when it comes to her. I absolutely enjoy the feeling of being on edge during the danger and action. I like the depth and detail that the author weaves into her characters. I look forward to Denver's story and hopefully Dante's too.

There was only one other person who survived but when he is killed in a car crash, it becomes very apparent that the remaining members of his team are being hunted. Along with Alyssa who is a Diplomat as well as the US Ambassador of Mexico. After a failed kidnapping attempt, Cobra becomes Alyssa’s bodyguard. As they work together to get answers, the targe on their backs continues to grow. Will Cypher find them and take them out before they get the answers they need? Another great read with all the expense, intrigue, drama and heat we’ve all come to expect and love in this series!!!

I loved Alyssa and Julian’s story. It was well written, entertaining and full of danger and romance. The interaction between the two of them showed the softer side of Julian as he falls for Alyssa. There are still a lot of unanswered questions which I hope are answered soon. The terrorist, Cypher is still creating havoc. It’s good to see previous characters play a big part in this story and I can’t wait for Dante’s story. This is a story worth reading as Julian and Alyssa work towards their happy ending.

Loved this book! Julian (Chase) and Alyssa seem to be the latest targets that Cypher wants to take out. When Chase and Alyssa are thrown together on a mission to find the reason for the crash that killed almost all of his old team, Chase was nit expecting the attraction and feelings that would develop. Alyssa was a strong woman and was perfect for him. I really liked the way they worked together and how they trusted each other. I can’t wait for the next book to see what Cypher is up to and how they will catch him.

Cobra is on protection duty for Alyssa who has run into trouble during her ambassadorial duties and is coming back to New York quickly. When she’s attacked at the hotel her protection takes her to safety, especially once they figure out both she and Cobra are under attack by Cypher. What follows is a fat paced adventure in another country working to solve some questions in relation to past events as they respond to their attraction. What a wonderful addition to this series! I can’t wait for the next book as the twists and turns in these books just blow my mind. Great read!.

Keeps you on the edge of your seat. I loved the story. Julian/Cobra is a special operative on Blackout Charlie. He learns that his former team has all been killed and he's the last survivor. He wants answers. Alyssa is ambassador to Mexico and a bomb just went off in an ICE detention center in Mexico. Everyone wants answers that she cannot answer. Julian is sent to protect Alyssa and find the answers as to who is responsible for his teams death. He and his team believe that its Cypher, a terrorist they have been looking for. Action, suspense and love.

A great story. When a ICE processing center is bombed, Chase figures Cypher, a terrorist , is targetting him as he was part of Echo company when their heli crashed and killed everyone on it. Alyssa is the ambassador and is in mexico when the bomb goes off and she is in danger. Chase and Alyssa are assigned to find answers on the heli crash and the bombing of the Red Cross when they were both in Syria. This book is full of suspense, danger, hot chemistry, and a surprising ending. I enjoyed reading this book.

This is an amazing story. I couldn't put it down. I have been a fan of this author for a long time. I love reading her alpha men and the women who claim them. This blackout series is amazing. I can't get enough of them. I love Alyssa Vargas and Julian Chase. Alyssa never expected to need help or that she would fall for him. They will stop at nothing to make sure that they have a chance at a happily ever after together. They are traveling over the globe to take down Cypher. Will they be able to get their happily ever after?

Hidden Attraction is the 3rd book in the SEAL Team Blackout Charlie series. It can easily be read as a standalone, but the experience is much richer with all the background on the team members and the hunt of Cypher provided in previous books. Chase and Alyssa's story is full of sizzling chemistry and emotions, heartpounding suspense and enough surprising turns to give me whiplash. Another riveting story in this series. I do recommend reading the first two books as there is an overarching storyline. Cobra aka Julian Chase is assigned as bodyguard to diplomat Alyssa Vargas. Both of them become targets and they find themselves on a secret mission to find answers. Respect for each other turns into so much more as they give into their chemistry. The author gives us a heart pounding adventure. Always love the Team camaraderie. Can’t wait for the next book.
