With the clock ticking down to zero, Batman travels deep into the Welsh highlands to undo the curse of the werewolf. But what awaits him will challenge his most deeply-held convictions. To lift the curse, he’ll have to sacrifice his own life...or take another!
Well that took quite a turn, kinda felt like bit of a rushed ending with a taped up conclusion. This story ends with our characters heading to Romania…only for Christian to be told that nothing can be done and that the curse cannot be broken. He was a soldier that has killer people and the toll has been placed on him. Ultimately Christian breaks and decides to accept who he is and the beast within. As such once the moon shines bright and Bruce and Christian come face to face it’s an on sight fight. And I am still loving this artwork, especially the pin sized eyes that shine bright. But ultimately Zatanna is the one to save the day by teleporting over and talking to a mystic in the area she knows (and who Christian talked too) and telling her about the dilemma. The woman reveals that if the main host that spread the curse dies, then everyone it has spread it to will be freed. As such she gives Zatanna what she needs to kill Christian. Boom that’s it, Kirk may have isolated a cure but Constantine got there way too late. Bruce is freed and decides to work down at the mission a bit more, getting out of this entire experience that “the Batman is not infallible” and he may need to slow down a bit and get with Zatanna a bit more.

A comic with a surprisingly good concept but suffers from a bad writer. I wouldn’t be shocked if this series is adapted to television or a video game in some way. It’s a good grounded story with an interesting set of characters. Yet somehow they just didn’t make it work.
This issue, Constantine and Kirk scramble to find a way to make a cure while Zatana also tries to find a way to break the curse. The Beast is becoming content with his monstrous form and learns that this is the way he is meant to be. Yet through all the major decisions and character dialogue…nothing feels emotional.
They eventually realize that the beast needs to die to break the curse. Something I thought Batman would have had a major issue with. But they were already 80% through the comic and killed him anyways with no ramifications. All of Kirk’s work to make a cure was finished yet not even used. So him being in this series AT ALL was utterly useless.
There was no theme. No overall message for emotional impact after reading this. I think this story as a whole could be done better in someone else’s hands. *the artwork could be much better too*

But the ending was kind of weak. Still a solid series in all. Can't wait for the Hardcover collection release. Going to buy it first day its out. Very good art by the way. Very beautiful visuals.
