I just finished reading "Sin Bin Second Chance" by Vixa Vaughn, and it was exactly what I needed for a cozy afternoon read! If you're in the mood for a sweet and spicy second-chance romance with a hunky hockey player, this one definitely hits the spot.

The story brings Zuri back to her hometown of Ivy Falls, a place she probably never intended to revisit, especially not to clean houses. Fate, however, has a funny way of working, because her latest cleaning job is at the mansion of Carter Steele – a local hockey legend, now a billionaire, and, oh yeah, the man who shattered her heart years ago. Suddenly, Carter is back in Zuri's orbit, and despite her vows to resist him, the old sparks are impossible to ignore. Carter is determined to prove he's changed and won't repeat past mistakes, but Zuri has to decide if she can trust him again and risk another heartbreak for a second chance at love.

I really wanted to love this

I'm giving it a 2.5

I love a hockey romance, but the page count was my first clue that this might not be my favorite.

I genuinely believe with a good editor, this could've been fleshed out a bit more. The base story is good, but there are... missing connections between plot points. We kinda jump to things a few times, where there maybe could've been a chapter to build the bridge of plot A to B. .

There was also a few big grammatical errors. *shrug

Overall it's more a cute story than spicy, which is fine. It's slightly formulaic, which is also fine. Sometimes you just need a cute romance for the weekend.

I just really wanted to love this & it ends up I just kinda like it, even with its flaws. Maybe if the author goes back & touches it up, I'll give it a reread & update my review accordingly.

It's worth a read if you need something crazy quick.

Sin Bin is wonderful and heartwarming kind of read. From the beginning you are taken on a journey of courage, self worth, redemption and rediscovering of love left behind…

Zuri and Carter have an incredible relationship and a chemistry that pulls you into their lives.
