When a fire witch with a past and a brooding shifter join forces, sparks fly... ...and not just from her magic.
Fiona Ashwood is done with disasters — especially the romantic kind. Moving to the supernatural town of Saltwater Grove was supposed to be her fresh start, not an invitation to land in the middle of a pack war. But when she takes a job running the Eclipsed Moon community center, she quickly realizes two
1. The center is a mess. 2. Its grumpy, growly, and devastatingly hot shifter, Caleb Rivers, is even messier.
Caleb doesn’t trust outsiders, and he sure as hell doesn’t trust a fire witch waltzing into his pack’s territory, no matter how competent — or how tempting — she is. But with the ruthless Nightfang pack threatening everything he holds dear, he doesn’t have time to be distracted by her sharp tongue and the way she somehow smells like cinnamon and trouble.
But trouble has already arrived. And when Fiona proves she’s more than just a pretty face with a little firepower...she’s a force to be reckoned with—Caleb starts seeing her as something far more dangerous. His mate.
With a rival pack closing in and sparks flying between them (literally), Caleb and Fiona will have to can they trust each other enough to fight side by side? Or
will their differences—and their undeniable attraction—burn them both to the ground?
Get ready for sizzling chemistry, fated-mate tension, and enough banter to make even the grumpiest of us howl in this action-packed paranormal romance!
This book feels lazy. Fiona comes out of nowhere. No friends, just a mom for family. Running, but we never find out what she's running from.
The first half of the book, a rival alpha is introduced as conflict, but progress in stopping him isn't made. The romance is mostly banter and attraction. The characters are shallow, the harvest festival makes no sense as an event, and even the conflict with the other pack is disappointing.
This was almost a good book. The ideas are there. It just needed a bit more depth.
Howl You Doin’ begins The Saltwater Grove Romances series with Fiona’s and Caleb’s often argumentative romance. Yet, underneath the bickering, the banter, the arguments lies a growing attraction that screams of mate to Caleb, and perhaps an annoying attraction for Fiona. She’s left behind a faltering business in the city, hoping to find peace and clarity over her fire magic in this small town. When the job at the community center opens up, although different from her own business, she applies. Once accepted, at the clear hesitation of the pack’s alpha, Fiona sets out to prove her worth, all the while countering Caleb’s grumpy attitude, and giving back banter for banter with a man she’s pulled to so strongly.
Caleb is pulled in so many different directions that his head is spinning. Along with finding out who is underhandedly attacking his pack, this community center, he’s also reluctantly acknowledging that this fire witch he’s hired does know her stuff when it comes to bonding with and entertaining his pack. With the attacks on his people, he doesn’t have time for a mate bond to suddenly appear in his controlled life. Fate has other plans.
I enjoyed Howl You Doin’ by Ava Hunter and Milly Taiden so much. It’s well-written, with just enough suspense to keep me on edge, a couple that obviously belong together if they’d just get out of their own way, and a community that I can’t wait to learn more about throughout the series. If you love a steamy, bantering couple in a story that will capture your attention early on, then you’d love this one.

This is a very good, well written, Shifter/Human romance. Fiona left her wedding planning business in Boston after several suspicious accidents. New town, now new job, managing the community center. Caleb is the Alpha wolf and a caring leader. They love to spar and encourage each other. Another alpha wolf causes problems. Read how their love overcomes the many problems.
Howl You Doin’ (Saltwater Grove Romances) by Milly Taiden & Ava Hunter. Fire witch Fiona moved to Saltwater Grove to start a new life and went to the Eclipsed Moon packs community centre to see about a job. Wolf shifter Caleb, alpha of the pack, has just fired the manager of the centre so decides to take a chance on Fiona. As the days pass Caleb and Fiona become close but an Alpha from another pack wants to take over and oust Caleb.
This was so enjoyable to read. A great collaboration between two great authors, and it worked really well. The chemistry between Caleb and Fiona was special and often comical, but there was also the big bad wolf written in there to cause some issues. Definitely a must read and a hea.
Brilliant start to a new series couldn't put it down loved the characters and the storyline so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone and can't wait to read more in this series
