A ruthless killer. A web of deceit. When love turns lethal, no one is safe.
FBI Agent Kate Walsh is locked in a high-stakes chase to track down a cold-blooded killer preying on wealthy single women. He lures them with promises of love, drains their bank accounts, and takes their lives. With a global trail stretching across Los Angeles, London, and Paris, Kate and her team are desperate for clues to unmask the elusive man behind the crimes.
When a potential link to a London matchmaker surfaces, the case spirals into a darker, more dangerous world than Kate could have imagined. What began as a hunt for one man unravels into an international syndicate. Their technology is cutting-edge, their ties to London’s aristocracy are unfathomable, and their reach is far more extensive than Kate ever suspected.
As she closes in on a suspect, Kate is forced to question everything. The line between truth and deception blurs, and with each twist, the stakes grow higher. In this deadly game, everyone has a secret—and some will stop at nothing to keep theirs hidden. Can Kate stop the killer before he claims his next victim?

I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This story starts with Kate and Declan in Calif. investigating a possible serial killer. This individual preys on single wealthy women. While there, they also discovered besides the 2 they were looking into, another one that happened 10 years earlier. Information on this individual was scarce with no picture of him. After finishing their search in Calif., they then went to London and later France where there were other cases. In London they received more information and even a name as well as a picture of him.
Using this information, they tracked him to France and went to arrest him.
To discover who this individual was, what else they discovered in England and how it all worked out in the end, then you need to read this book, you won't be disappointed.
Kate and Declan are called in to investigate a series of murders that appear to be connected. Wealthy women have been murdered after they were victimized in a romance scam. The investigation takes them from Los Angeles to London and France as they track an elusive killer who has left very few clues. Their investigation uncovers a romance scam network that is more widespread than they could have ever imagined. This story shines a light on an area where scammers target and exploit the vulnerable, leaving behind financial and emotional devastation. The scamming aspect of the storyline is timely subject matter for the technology focused world we live in. This is a very good series that showcases diverse storylines, which makes each installment unique and interesting.
The story starts by investigating the murders of a number of wealthy women with indications that it might be a serial killer. The women have largely become estranged from family and friends so that no-one can protect them - and no-one can identify the 'boyfriend'. There is evidence of previous domestic violence and money being extracted. The deaths are international.
The book also includes 'traditional' catfishing - texting and emailing with pleas for money to pay the rent, etc.
Kate, Declan, Leo and Sam dig deep to uncover the criminals behind the schemes.
This is another fantastic story in a great series. Kate and Declan investigate some deaths in the US which seem to be linked to a predator who preys on lonely wealthy women and soon fly to the UK and then to France in pursuit when it becomes clear that this is an international crime.
I liked the international aspect and how the investigation totally snowballed. As usual with these books, it was hard to put down and I tend to push everything aside and just read as much of the way through as I can. I can't recommend this enough.
This is a really good addition to the Kate Walsh series. This crime series will keep you reading into the wee hours! Characterization is excellent, as it was in the previous books. Kate and Declan work to find solve this mystery. Their work to resolve this takes an international twist. The writing in this series is just excellent. While the story is complete within the book so it can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend reading the series in order.
Stacy M Jones has once again written a ripping story! Kate, Declan and the dashing ex international art thief Leo are brought together to solve a seemingly impossible mystery. Twists and turns abound as the complexity and international ramifications of the investigation are revealed. All in all this is a thoroughly engrossing, satisfying and oftentimes edge of your seat read.
Great book - kept me engaged until the end. I thoroughly enjoy the fast pace of the book. The subject matter of the case was intriguing and I didn’t realize that much money was being scammed by people. There were some twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout. Can’t wait for the next Kate and Declan book.
The murder of wealthy women has been happening for 10 years. The murderer also acquired an enormous amount of wealth. Reading further reveals that this is a syndicate- many individuals are involved and reaping the financial benefits. I couldn't believe the complexity of this story and the surprise ending. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary opinion.
This is another exceptional story in this series. A series of connected murders is a few areas of the world lands in Kate and her teams laps. Little do they know how bizarre and twisted this case truly is. The ending is very interesting and I wonder where it will go next.
I enjoyed the book. Had lots of interesting details and characters to keep you interested. I feel there was some unanswered questions and I'm wondering if the Lucy character may show up later in another book. I would definitely recommend and can't wait for the next one.
So it’s another thriller for Kate and Declan and team They are investigating the death of wealthy women the killer lives them takes their money and leav s them dead It’s another great addition to the Kate Walsh series Read it this one has so many twist and turn the end will amaze you
This is the ninth book in the FBI Agent Kate Walsh series. Kate and Declan are investigating the deaths of wealthy women. The murders have been happening for years with no resolution. The twists and turns were intriguing. It’s a fast paced edge-of-your-seat thriller. A great plot
Running Between the coasts in the US, to London and to France to try to catch a serial murderer. Don’t go in with preconceived notions. Great writer!!!
This was one of the craziest books Stacy Jones has written in the Kate Walsh/Declan James series. This time they are searching for a serial killer who is crossing the globe. The twists and turns n this book were wild. Well done, Stacy Jones!!!!!
Another great addition to the series. I recd an ARC copy with no obligation to review. This edition takes on online dating and scamming to the extreme. Fast paced and lots of travel to Europe, which I prefer. Can’t wait for the next one.
Stacy M. Jones has done it again! Another mystery solved with a surprising twist at the end to leave the reader hanging on. LOVE IT!! Keep them coming!
Another great book in this series. I enjoy the dynamics of this team and can’t wait to see where they end up next. I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
The suspens is good. It’s well written and interesting. But can I like Kate less and less. She has a boyfriend, but dreaming all the time of someone else. I don’t know where the author is going with this, and as I don’t like it, I’m done with this series.
The story keeps you guessing and there are plenty of twists and turns. I do wish that Leo would either get a love interest and leave Kate & Declan alone or disappear.
