Rate this book
A ten-day family vacation is fun when you’re a kid.

As an adult? Not so much.

When Jayce Nash agreed to join his family at Lakeview Harbor Resort to celebrate his grandparents’ 55th wedding anniversary, he didn’t think he’d feel like he’d been transported back in time. He certainly didn’t expect to run into the girl who got away all those years ago.

Going back where all your favorite memories were made should be exciting.

Except when doing so means saying goodbye.

Kelsey Brooks dreaded going back to Lakeview Harbor Resort. Especially because she was going back alone. But it’s the perfect place to say goodbye to her mother, and with the resort closing at the end of the season, it’s now or never. The last thing she could have imagined was literally running into the boy she never forgot.

They have ten days to walk down memory lane and wonder about what might have been. But maybe they can also create the future they always wanted.
And while they’re at it, they might just also save the Lakeview Harbor Resort.

Growing up, both Kelsey and Jayce often met at their families resort destination. After losing touch, they are both delighted to discover each other once again staying in the same cabins. Both are there for different reasons but maybe this is the second chance they need to get things right. Such a sweet quick novella. I loved this one and the journey both of our character's took to make things work. This was well narrated on audio too.

Author Review 📚
This was my first Samantha Chase book, and while the premise had promise, I wasn’t entirely sold. I like second chance romances when there’s real history to build on, but here the leap from “we haven’t spoken in 13 years” to “we’re destined” felt a little too big for me to buy into. His family treating her like the one when they hadn’t seen her since she was sixteen just didn’t land for me. That said, this is the first in a new series, and I’ll give book two a try before making up my mind on her writing style.

Narration Review 🎧
Rebecca Gibel was new to me. I’m not the biggest fan of solo narration, and this one had its ups and downs. Her pacing was fine once I sped it up, but the tone sometimes felt mismatched to the scene, and her male voices didn’t always hit. Still, she gave the characters distinct voices, and it was listenable overall.

Book Review 💭
This novella had the classic small-town summer vibes and a rekindled romance angle, but it suffered from some of the pitfalls of short-form romance. I’m not an instalove fan, and while this had the benefit of childhood history, it still felt rushed. I would have loved a bit more depth and realism in how their relationship reignited after so long apart. The story stayed light, fluffy, and low stakes—nice for an easy afternoon listen but not one that will stick with me.

Overall Thoughts 🌟
Quick, summery, and low-drama, #ResortRomance is the literary equivalent of a breezy beach read with a lemonade in hand. Enjoyable in the moment, but gone with the tide once you turn the last page. I’ll still check out the next book to see where Samantha Chase takes this series.

This was a sweet fluffy novella which is part of a bigger series. It can be read as a stand-alone easily. It came out in early 2025 but I received the audio ALC which comes out August 12th.

The audio is narrated by Rebecca Gibel. She did a fine job with her rendition of the material. She does speak at a slower metered pace which for me had to be sped up in order to consume it. The book is only just a bit over 3 hours normally so speeding it up made it a very quick read. Admittedly, Ms Gibel struggled with her male voice but it was subtly different enough to hear the difference.

The book over all, especially for a novella, was a little repetitive concerning the state of the campground. So while it was a quick fine read, it doesn’t have a lot of substance.

I am thankful to have gotten a complimentary audio ALC from Dreamscape Media through NetGalley to read which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.

My general rating system is below. Since I primarily read ARC books I rate according to how I think like minded readers will receive the book. I will round up or down depending on many factors and try not to let my personal wants affect a books ratings.

⭐️ Hated It but pushed through as so don’t DNF ARCs I have received.
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, content issues, poorly edited.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but it had something that stopped me from rounding up. Usually the book may have much more potential than what was given. I recommend it but with reservations.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I Really enjoyed it or think others will. These are solid reads that I definitely would recommend for a variety of reasons.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! These are books that remain rent free in my head for well after unfinished the book. It can be for a variety of reasons from being very well written or just the vibes that captured my mind. These books are also ones I would probably read again.

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🏡⚱️🎉🛥🎣

My thoughts: I picked this book up because I was attracted to #Resort Fling and discovered it was book 2 in a series. This is actually my eighth book by Samantha Chase. I enjoyed her Silver Bell Falls series in 2024, and I read The Wedding Season. I was pretty excited about this one, and although a lot of people are claiming it's a prequel, it is not. A prequel is a sequel that is set prior to pre-existing releases. This is not that. This book was actually released a month before the novel it predates, so it's not a prequel, more like a preview, or what I prefer to call a setup. It does just that based on my reading of this book. I am assuming the series will be about childhood friends who met at a summer resort reconnecting as couples in their 30s. I'm excited to see how it plays out.

Recommend to others: Yes. I can't wait to continue; I make read 3 in one day.

The prequel to Chase’s upcoming new Lakeview Harbor Resort series - I’m glad she’s released this in audio, as well as the ebook version that was being given out as a freebie through prolific works… don’t love using that so glad I could snag this audio version!

I read the sneak peek of character one she released of the first book and of course I confused myself, thinking it was part of this book - but this is the prequel and different characters. This is when the resort is on its last open season, and two families who used to frequently visit have returned… one, a large, multi-generational group to celebrate the grandparents 55th anniversary, with everyone in attendance, and the other, a solo child, who lost both parents there to celebrate her recently late mother’s birthday and spread her ashes and say goodbye.

Jayce and Kelsey literally bump into each other when they arrive - the pair haven’t seen each other since he last visited the resort 13 years ago, and they lost touch. They were teens who had a summer fling each year (just teenager romance), but new-old feelings quickly emerge.

So much happens in such a short story, and the very end definitely tells us where the whole series is headed - I’m very excited for book one in September! Especially having the sneak peek from chapter one a few weeks ago! I cannot wait to fall for a new set of characters… Chase is one of my very top fave authors!

Narrator Rebecca Gibel was unfamiliar to me, but she did a great job with this story and suited the characters.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the early listen copy. This is my honest feedback.

Jayce returns to Lakeview Harbor Resort to meet his family to celebrate his grandmother’s birthday. He and his family spent every summer since he was five years old. They all had close summer friends that they socialized with every summer. However, Jayce had not been there in years, so he was shocked to see that the resort looked exactly the same as it did years ago. It was old, run-down and had not been updated in years.

Meanwhile, Jayce runs into Kelsey, a close summer friend whose family also visited the resort every year. They spent entire summers playing together. Even though, as they got older, they both felt a bit of puppy-love, neither of them had contacted each when they stopped coming. Both of them are shocked when they run into each other and realize they still feel very close.

Samantha Chase does a fantastic job of reuniting this couple who had never forgotten each other. The two of them finally realize that they should have kept in touch with each other.

Meanwhile, the two families are extremely upset when they all discover that the owners are shutting the resort down. They all have fantastic memories of spending half of their lives enjoying beautiful summers with their family and friends.

This is a prequel to a new series that will be coming soon about old friends and old times at a resort that no one wants to see demolished or modernized.

This is a very short book, but Samantha Chase manages to create loving, caring, unselfish characters and to recreate the old charm of an old run-down resort. I fell in love with all of them!

I can’t wait for the series to begin!!

This short book was precious.
I loved this story. It made me happy, warmed my heart, and told a sweet story of love and loss.
Jayce goes to Lakeview Harbor to meet his family for his Grandparents' anniversary. All they wanted was for the family to get back together at the place they spent their lives vacationing. Jayce hasn't been in years, as he has been busy working his way to a good career.
Kelsey is at Lakeview Harbor for the last time to spread her Mother's ashes. Since the resort will be closing after this season, she needs to honor her Mom's wishes and leave her in a place that they loved. Kelsey spent every summer at Lakeview growing up. It was also the last place she saw her first love - Jayce, who basically disappeared from her life despite the two of them deciding to take their relationship further that last year they all vacationed together.
In the 10 days that Jayce and Kelsey are back together, they find out very quickly that all of those old feelings are still very much alive. They find their way back to one another and have to figure out if they can make it work.
This story was so good! Such a quick palate cleanser. Gave me all the warm fuzzy feelings.
I don't want to say much more or I will give away the best parts, but this is definitely worth the read.
I would add this to your summer TBR.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!
Happy Reading!

What a delightful introduction to the Lakeview Harbor series! Both Kelsey Brooks and Jayce Nash have wonderful memories of their summers spent at Lakeview Harbor Resort when they were young. Especially memories of the good times with friends, and also of the 'one' who got away. Kelsey and Jayce meet again at the resort, Jayce with his family and Kelsey for a more somber reason. They are excited to see each other and their connection is easy as their chemistry flairs to life. Unfortunately the camp will be closing for good, and Kelsey doesn't want to let go of the place she was the happiest. She also doesn't want to say good bye to the man she never forgot. Jayce is also trying to find a way to convince Kelsey that they were always meant for each other. Can they save the Resort and their love and happiness as well? Kelsey and Jayce were so great together. I loved their banter, the tender moments of vulnerability and their chemistry was off the charts, it left me wanting more of them! I also loved Jayces' meddling family, and the intrigue of their friends from their past, and would like to learn more about them as well.
I really enjoyed listening to Rebecca Gibel bring this story and characters to life. Her ability to pull me into this charming short story, making me laugh, and swoon, and care about these wonderfully, relatable characters so quickly is amazing, and an absolute joy to listen to! I'm excited for more at the Lakeview Harbor Resort!

This was a fantastic way to start a new series. Jayce and Kelsey first met at the resort when they were teenagers. While there they dated each other, but when they went back home, they dated other people. When they went off to college, they didn't keep in touch, but each felt like the other was the one that got away. A little over a decade later, they are both back (for very different reasons) and bump into each other the first night. They quickly realize that those old feelings are still there but try to decide if there is any reason to pick up where they left off all those years ago.

Jayce is a nice guy who loves his family, but isn't happy about being back at the resort, that is in serious need of repairs and upgrades. If it wasn't for his grandparent's anniversary, he probably wouldn't have come back at all. He has never forgotten Kelsey and is happy to see her when they bump into each other. When he realizes that Kelsey is alone (she came back to spread her mom's ashes), he quickly includes her in his family activities. Everyone in his family can see the connection is still there. Whether he will admit to her how he feels or lets her walk out of his life a second time remains to be seen.

The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. She put emotion, heart, and feelings into each word. I would definitely listen to more books narrated by her. I received an ALC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

This sweet, second chance at love novella is a wonderful introduction to a new series featuring a rundown resort and a group of friends who have decided to invest in renovating it. Jayce and Kelsey met at the resort during one of the multiple summer vacations their families spent there. They grew close, shared their first kiss there and even made tentative plans for a future together. Then, as what happens with teenagers, there was change in plans, and they gradually lost touch with each other. Now, well over a decade after they last spent time there, Fate and their families have brought Jayce and Kelsey back to resort. Jayve and his family are celebrating a milestone anniversary for his grandparents who wanted to visit the resort one last time before it closed down. Kelsey’s visit is in memory of her recently deceased mother. Neither she nor Jayce expected to see each other again, but are thrilled to do so as both have never forgotten the other. All the old feelings they once had for each other, but were afraid to reveal when they were teenagers resurface, much to the delight of his family who are very happy to play matchmakers. Buoyed by fond memories of their time at the resort and their reunion, Jayce and Kelsey set a plan in motion for their friend group to invest in and renovate the resort. I can’t wait to see what happens with the resort and the group of friends.

I am happy to recommend this sweet and entertaining novella.

This is a Lakeview Harbor Series prequel, and it was such a cute novella that gave me all the summer vibes. I love a good second chance romance, and this one was short, sweet, and nostalgic.

Kelsey spent her summers at Lakeview Harbor Resort, where her family stayed next door to Jayce’s. They were childhood sweethearts who grew up together every summer until life pulled them in different directions. When she returns years later, the spark between them is still there, and their connection feels as natural as ever.

Jayce is at the resort to celebrate his grandparents’ anniversary and is surprised to run into Kelsey again after so many years apart. What starts as a reunion quickly becomes a reconnection, and I enjoyed watching them slip so easily back into each other’s lives while joining forces with their friends to save the resort.

I loved the small town charm, the nostalgia of childhood memories turning into something more, and the way Samantha Chase blended family, love, and moving forward. The story was heartwarming, and I could definitely see the side characters being part of the series to come. My only downside is that I wanted more. The novella length made some parts feel rushed, and I think this could have been even stronger as a full length novel.

Rebecca Gibel did a nice job with the narration. Her pacing worked once I sped it up a little, and she gave the characters distinct voices that made it easy to follow. While not every tone matched perfectly, it was still a fun, easy listen that fit the lighthearted vibe of the story.

Overall, Resort Romance was a charming and quick listen filled with second chances, reconnections, and small town charm. It made me smile, and I am excited to see where the Lakeview Harbor Series goes from here.

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC.

#Resort Romance is the first book in Samantha Chase’s Lakeview Harbor series. Jayce Nash has traveled to the Lakeview Harbor Resort to join his family in celebrating his grandparents fifty-fifth anniversary. For years his family spent time at the resort each summer, as did other families who became close summer friends. Run down and shabby now, it is not as they remember it. This will be the last season at the resort as it is closing down and not set to reopen.

Also arriving at the resort is Kelsey Brooks whose family was a summer fixture as well. This time, however, Kelsey has nothing to celebrate. Alone at the resort, Kelsey is there to fulfill her mother’s final wishes to spread her ashes in this place the family had so loved. Spied by Jayce upon her arrival, Kelsey shares what has happened and Jayce and the Nash family embrace her and bring her into their fold.

Much has happened since that last summer when Jayce and Kelsey shared a first kiss. Jayce is now a busy NYC executive. Kelsey is a close to being burnt out social worker. With such different lives, how could they find a way forward? Are they as doomed as the rundown resort?

This is a sweet, heartwarming story about friendship and memories, family and future. I did enjoy this book and look forward to the series. I do recommend this book.

Jayce is joining his family for just over a week at the now run down lake resort where they spent so many summers over his youth. A girl, Kelsey, would spend the same time period with her parents every year and they were best buddies. He's there to celebrate his grandparents' 55th wedding anniversary and to stay one last time at the resort before it's shut down for good. Kelsey is there alone, for a much more somber reason and the resort closure adds to her sadness.

Jayce and Kelsey resume their friendship immediately. He's taken another cabin because he couldn't see himself sleeping on his childhood bed in the cabin - the same old rundown sofa. Because Jayce and Kelsey had each had silent crushes on each other back then, it was easy to start a little flirting and more. His family was all for a real relationship to develop. Both Jayce and Kelsey were surprised at how quickly their feelings for each other grew.

It's a sweet, touching romance story, but as mature adults, there is more depth to their relationship. No intimate details are shared, however.

I listened to the audio book. The narrator was great. She presented the different voices seamlessly and the listener knew which character was speaking. I enjoyed the book a great deal.

I love Samantha Chase's books. It has been a hot minute since I read one, but she writes these feel good closed door romances. This one follows Kelsey as she goes back to the Laview Harbor resort to spread her mother's ashes. She runs into her childhood love, Jayce Nash, who is there for an anniversary celebration. These two pick up where they left off, even though it has been over a decade since they last saw one another. Let me repeat, over a decade. These two were still kids at their last encounter, and though they had all the deep feelings, they are now adults who have to have a completely different perspective on life than when they were kids, but in 10 days, we are changing our lives and falling in love. That is what takes this down a star for me. I get that this is a novella that introduces this world and how the future series characters come to this derelict resort, but instalove just is worse than a pregnancy trope for me. Other than that, it is sweet that these two navigate their past, future, and heartaches in less than two weeks. They do it with grandmas who love spicy romance novels and the sadness of the loss of family. It is a good novella overall, just wish we had a spread-out romance.

I was fortunate to receive an ALC of this book from the Publisher.

This is my honest review:

Oh boy, I really wanted to life this. It sounded so cute and I have seen the author float around book-tok and was interested in reading her.

Unfortunately this book fell so flat for me. The writing itself felt extremely elementary. Conversation read very unnatural and the characters lacked depth. The words “just” “extremely” and “absolutely” were way overused. And it was an entire plot point on how run down the resort was. It was almost comical by the 7th time in 10 minutes that the state of the resort was mentioned. Also I feel that the FMC’s grief was skimmed over much too casually.

The romantic relationship went from 0 to 60 so fast and was way too cheesy and unbelievable for my taste. I get they were childhood sweethearts but it was too much for me.

I did enjoy the sassy grandmother.

I appreciate the opportunity to listen to this ALC. Unfortunately, I don’t know if I would read this author again if this book is any indication of what her writing style is.

The audiobook narrator did a great job with the material she had, and I would listen to her narrate again.

Big thanks to NetGalley and Samantha Chase for the chance to listen to this early ALC of #ResortRomance!

This one gave me all the warm and fuzzy second-chance feels. Jayce and Kelsey’s story was sweet, nostalgic, and had just enough emotional depth to keep me hooked. I’m a sucker for a “the one that got away” storyline, and this one delivered, especially with the added layer of them reconnecting at a family resort full of shared memories.

I really loved the setting too. Lakeview Harbor Resort felt like a character in itself, and the idea of saying goodbye to a place that held so much history made the story feel extra personal and heartfelt.

Rebecca Gibel did a fantastic job with the narration, her voice fit the tone of the story so well and made it super easy to fall into the characters’ journey.

If you’re into second-chance romance with a cozy summer vibe and a touch of bittersweet nostalgia, this one’s definitely worth a listen. I’m excited to see what’s next in the Lakeview Harbor series!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — A Sweet Second-Chance Romance with All the Feels

I received the advanced listener copy 🎧 of Resort Romance by Samantha Chase from #NetGalley, and I’m so glad I pressed play. Even though this is part of a series, it works beautifully as a standalone. Now I definitely want to read the other books!

This story hits all the right second-chance romance notes. Jayce and Kelsey’s reunion at Lakeview Harbor Resort is equal parts nostalgic and emotional, blending the bittersweet reality of saying goodbye to a beloved place with the spark of rediscovered love.

The setting is practically a character itself—warm, charming, and brimming with memories. The subplot about saving the resort added a nice layer of purpose beyond just the romance. The chemistry between Jayce and Kelsey kept me invested, and the ending wrapped everything in a hopeful, satisfying way.

If you enjoy small-town charm, heartfelt reunions, and a touch of nostalgia, Resort Romance is a perfect vacation read whether you’re on a beach or curled up at home.

This is a sweet summer escape. Full of all the nuance of summer vacations, rekindled romance and nostalgia. Jayce and Kelsey are so cute together. Literally bumping into each other their first day at camp, it only takes the one interaction for old sparks to ignite. They have 10 days to reminisce and 10 days to decide on forever. It is clear that this is the romance that got away and fate has stepped in to reconnect past love. Their friendship is instantly as strong as ever and with his family on board to make sure they see clearly, they don’t stand a chance at letting things slip by. I really enjoyed this story. It was just the right amount of family fun to make me long for camp. Samantha Chase writes a wonderfully sweet romance with all the heart.

Audio produced by Dreamscape Media and recorded by Rebecca Gibble in solo narration was a wonderful listen. Rebecca Gibble fully immerses you in the sweet romance of Jayce & Kelsey. I thought she did a great job with both characters and created a wonderful dynamic between the two.

This was a story about two people who had to learn how to be around each other again, after everything in their lives had changed. It didn’t feel rushed or dramatic. Their past was always there, shaping how they spoke and acted, but it wasn’t spelled out — it just sat quietly between them as they figured out what was still there.
What stood out more than the romance was the sense of building something around them. Not just love, but a place where they could belong. Other relationships mattered too — the ones that formed slowly, the ones that healed over time. That mix of connection made the story feel fuller.

The emotions stayed close to the surface but didn’t need big scenes to make them clear. It felt real because nothing was fixed all at once. Just small changes, steady steps, and the feeling that they were choosing this time for themselves — not out of nostalgia, but because it made sense now.

A cute novella romance. A reminder to grab what you have. Looking forward to more from this series.

This was such a cute read. Kelsey and Jayce are both so sweet and I love them together. Childhood love, bloomed into adult romance. Both Jayce and Kelsey are back visiting their childhood vacation resort for drastically different reasons. While there they reignited the flame they had as kids and are on a mission to save the resort that holds a million memories for them and their family. Determined to not spend any more time without her, Jayce decides to find a way to get Kelsey to come with him at the end of their trip. Kelsey, lost and without any set plans to move or stay where shes living after the trip, is all too happy to go with Jayce.
Overall I thought this was a good prequel into the rest of the series. I can't wait to read more.
I also though the narrator did a fantastic job in this audio.

Short, sweet and filled with family, love, reconnections and moving forward. Jayce is going to be spending the next ten days with his family to celebrate his grandparents wedding anniversary. They’re going to the place they spent every vacation together and though he loves them all, the thought of 10 days in a small cabin isn’t as appealing to an adult as it was when he was a child. He has such fond memories of Kelsey, whose family stayed in the cabin next door. They lost touch, but the thought of her brings a smile to his face and heart. When he bumps into Kelsey, he is surprised and so happy to reconnect. Little does he realize why she is there. Over the time together they talk about what was, what is and find their way to each other. It’s truly a sweet, easy listen that made me smile.

This is a heartwarming second-chance romance that beautifully blends family, grief, and the magic of summer nostalgia. I listened to this as an audiobook and the narration was well done, really bringing the characters to life. Jayce and Kelsey’s story pulls you in from the very start.

The setting—a beloved, soon-to-close resort—is the perfect backdrop for a love that once was and might just be again. Jayce, reluctantly reliving his childhood vacation days, and Kelsey, seeking closure after loss, find themselves face-to-face with the past and the possibility of a different future. Their chemistry is sweet, their connection real, and the emotional stakes just high enough to keep you turning the pages.

This is the kind of book that makes you want to take a lakeside vacation and believe in do-overs. Perfect for fans of second chances and small-town summer romances.

A sweet second chances romance is the perfect novella story to launch the series! This is an emotional read that is also a sweet romance full of hope for the future with closed door policy on spice. I like this narrator as she has narrated a few series that I follow. I think she does a great job of bringing the characters to life. The main female character is dealing with some heavier emotions such as the loss of her mother, but that helps strengthen the insta-love feel of the story as the main characters had been close as young teens until time and distance got in the way. This is a sweet, fluffy, happily ever after story that you need in your life if you just want to get lost for a short while in a well plotted story with engaging characters. Keep in mind this is the foundation for a full series so reading this not only gives you a complete romance, but the foundation for more to come and personally, I can't wait!!

In their youth Jayce Nash and Kelsey Brooks met during the summer at the Lakeview Harbor Resort. They had a crush but they grew apart and hadn’t seen each other since their teens.
This summer is different. It’s the last summer the resort will be open, Jayce’s grandparents are celebrating their 55th anniversary, and it’s the place where Kelsey will say goodbye to her mom.
As these two reminiscence about their time spent in the resort and their lives, feeling reignite. Will these ten days spent once again together change not only their friendship and possible future but also the future of the resort?
This was touching, at times heartbreaking as well as heartwarming story. One of new beginnings in life and love.
Rebecca Gibel did a wonderful job with the narrations.

This is a sweet, second-chance romance novella. I always find that I have to manage my expectations going into novellas because of the short timeframe to convey a story. I was very pleasantly surprised by the story development in #Resort Romance, given its length!

Kelsey and Jayce spent summers together at a lake resort since they were 5 (and started crushing on each other in their teens), but it's been 13 years since they'd been back. They're both back for a couple of weeks - Jayce to celebrate his grandparents' anniversary and Kelsey for her mom's birthday. They run into each other on day one and pick up that old crush.

It's a novella, so insta-love is to be expected. Their backstory helps with the believability factor. It sets up the series nicely, and I'm excited for book number one!

#𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 is a short and sweet prequel novel to the upcoming Lakeview Harbor series by Samantha Chase, featuring a little second chance, vacation romance for Kelsey and Jayce. They were childhood sweethearts that spent summers together at a rustic lakeside resort, who drifted apart thanks to the pressures of growing up. Back again years later for different reasons, it like maybe fate has given them one final chance to choose the right path. I really enjoyed their connection, the banter, the emotion, and that feeling of nostalgia as they relived some of their favorite activities at the resort. Jayce’s family dynamic was fun as well. I can’t wait to meet his group of friends as the full series kicks off with Walker soon!

This quick and easy-to-read novella is the prequel to the Lakeview Harbor Resort series, and I thought it was the perfect introduction to what is to come with later books. It’s mainly the story of Jayce and Kelsey, who’s families vacationed each summer at the resort and who had what was thought to be a typical “teenage” romance during those summer visits.
Fast forward more than a decade and Jayce is back at the resort for a family celebration and unexpectedly runs into Kelsey, who has returned to the resort for her own reasons. They begin spending a lot of time together and as the sparks fly, their romance reignites.
I’m looking forward to continuing with this series to not only see what happens with Jayce, Kelsey, the Resort as well as some of the friends/campers who used to visit the resort as kids.

Forever girl
Wow! What an amazing start to a new series.
I devoured every minute of this story and can’t wait for more adventures to start at the Lakeview Harbor resort.
From the beginning this story hooked me, I loved that Jace and Kelsey met up again after so many years and had an instant reconnection.
Jace’s family were great additions and also played a large part.
With fun times, sad times and a rekindled love this short novella paves the way for what I think will be a brilliant series.
I love Samantha’s writing style and the narration of the audiobook by Rebecca Gibel was perfect and so easy to listen to.
Thank you NetGalley, Samantha Chase and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to this book.

This was a really cute and super short summer romance novella.
I personally really enjoy second chance romance, friends to lovers, and I don't mind insta-love so this really worked for me, but those tropes tend to not work for a lot of people so it might not be for everyone!
Jace and Kelsey were childhood sweethearts who spent every summer together, and who's families always thought they'd end up together when they were older. They lose contact with each other for 13 years but happen to run into each other at the Lakeview Harbor summer resort as adults and quickly rekindle their relationship. They have a very cute backstory of spending summers together, and to be that made their adult relationship very believable.
