Has there ever been a more photogenic singer than Bowie?
This is a overview of Frank Ockenfels3 twenty years of photographing Bowie, starting with when he was finishing up with Tin Machine. There's a lot of magic here. Ockenfels3 is fearless with experimentation, playing with lenses, cameras, film, and techniques to create some of the most unique imagery going.
But then of course, there's the subject of those photographs and in Bowie, he's found the perfect collaborator. Bowie is as fearless in front of the camera as Ockenfels3 is behind it, willing to take whatever risk or steps necessary to get the perfect shot.
Just a gorgeous collection, and a pleasure to look at.
God, I can't believe it's been ten years since we lost Bowie.
