Born and raised on a ranch out in West Texas, I had the best childhood ever with loving parents and lots of freedom and room to roam around. My Dad was a World War II veteran and so I grew up listening to him talk about the war which caused some conflict in my life since I wanted to be nothing more than a cowboy riding in the rodeos. As I got older, I stopped the dream of being a cowboy and concentrated in on being a soldier in the United States Army. Educationally I was going nowhere on my intellect and knew it as I rarely paid attention in school and would amuse myself with writing poems and stories. So, as soon as I got out of school I enlisted in the army and felt like I was behind in that since my older brother was already serving in Vietnam. I finally got there and it forever changed my life.
