Very insightful and emotive, the perfect book to read in winter

Uniquely Western Australian in the most diverse way! It sparked joy every time I picked this one up. Took me ages to finish but it was a nice palate cleanser in between some heavier reads I’ve been working through.

Simultaneously heartwarming and heartbreaking, this collection of 100 mini memoirs, none more than two double pages long, gives us a glimpse, if just for a moment, into lives both familiar and foreign and voices those unseen connections that unite us all. Our loves, laughs and losses.
There were too many stories to list all my favourites, but A Limestone Cottage, with a Skylight to the Stars is the first piece of writing to make me cry in a very long time and is the most magnificent extended metaphor I’ve had the pleasure to have wrench my heart out in a long history of reading.
Best paired with a handful of beach sand, a glass of wine and a moment to yourself in a chair on the porch reminiscing about days long past
