Ronan Brooks is my boss. He’s brilliant, grumpy, and completely off-limits. I’m here to prove myself, not get tangled up with him.
But he’s more than his sharp suits and icy stares. He’s a devoted father. A man who guards his heart. And somehow, I’m the one breaking through his walls.
When sabotage threatens the company, all fingers point to me. Now I have to fight for my name, my career, and my place in his life.
Falling for Ronan was never the plan. But staying away might not be an option.
MC: Ivy and Roman Super short novella which is great for when you have only a few minutes. The premise of the book was good, and overall a good read. Ivy’s work role was a little confusing because she started off as a consultant but some scenes made it seem like she worked in the company and not with them. There was also her relationship with Maya, Roman’s daughter, that again seemed to come out of nowhere, like they met when she ran into her and all of a sudden Ivy is Maya’s favorite person. Little things like that made the story feel slightly incomplete.
It would have been a 5 star if there was a better ending to wrap it up. Worth the read just the same for a quick afternoon getaway or to unwind at the end of a day.
