I wish every business, non-profit, companies big and small, put in practice the teachings from this book and built a work environment of trust, curiosity, joy, and real connection.

I was very lucky to participate in a lot of 'Make Believe Time' sessions during my time at the innovation design firm IDEO, and there was not a single time where I regretted taking one hour of my day to embark on a magic journey with a bunch of my colleagues. I always came out happier, energized, and feeling more connected with my studio mates. I also learned a thing or two about myself.

It's great to see all that work distilled and articulated into a cohesive method now available to anyone who makes the smart move of buying a copy for themselves and then some extras to gift their favorite people.

It's also an engaging and fun read. I can't recommend this book enough.

I've read a lot of business books on leadership and collaboration, but this one is completely different. What I love most about it is the way he frames risk - it doesn't have to be scary, and it can actually be fun, especially when you take these risks together as a community. The book is not only entertaining, but it's well-timed for the loneliness epidemic we are currently living. Swire skips over all the buzz words and jargon and goes straight to what truly matters - our relationships. He uses helpful anecdotes and hilarious cartoons to illustrate some of the realities we face as leaders and co-workers, and shows us what work and relationships could be like if we took more creative risks. Highly recommend!

This is a book about risk taking. About stepping outside your comfort zone to experience a more full life. I’m very much an introvert (as is the author), and I realize that I often need to push myself into doing things that are a bit uncomfortable because I know it’ll be good for me. Whether it’s at work or at home, this book can guide you into pushing yourself to that “safe danger.” I loved the little cartoons sprinkled in. I liked the little bite sized things you can try at the end of the chapters. I liked the humor with which the author wrote about things. It also seemed incredibly relatable. It is kind of a self-help/self-improvement book - but it’s also fun. Thank you so much to Grand Central Pub for my copy!

Fun, refreshing, digestible, and practical—everything you need to inspire new ways to motivate yourself and your team at work (and beyond!). So many wonderful stories and ideas about embracing humanity, encouraging creativity, and appreciating people not just for their skills, but also for who they are.

A wonderful exploration of themes and ideas, crafted into a smart, intentional methodology. A must-read for corporate teams looking to create a spark—but equally valuable and productive for individuals looking to shake off complacency and plot a new course.

This book is so approachable (I kept skipping ahead to read the comics) while also being full of substance and wit. It pushes you to embrace new perspectives, push your boundaries, and have fun along the way - something the world needs more of in many ways.
