‘Roman was an enigma, a puzzle; wrapped in a hot hard body, tormented eyes and a soft full mouth that screamed pure sin. Even here, where the love for him was so palpable you could feel it; he was distant. Unfortunately, he was also captivating, compelling and impossible to ignore.
I was here for Charlie.
Roman had other ideas.
This was going to be one hell of a weekend.’
When the mysterious Roman returns to the family estate in the aftermath of his father’s funeral, his revelations threaten the very foundations of the Hunter family, shaking it to its core. Secrets are revealed and histories unravelled, turning fact into fiction and changing the course of the future.
He isn’t there to grieve the man that despised him, and his stay will be short lived, but lured back to face his past by the beautiful Chastity, Roman is determined to take her into his bed. The attraction is instant, the chemistry electric and he knows if he can get her alone there will be only one outcome.
Chastity Evangelista usually lives up to her name, with a list in place for the ultimate prize she’s determined to secure, but she doesn’t count on her dangerous and immediate response to the prodigal brother, riddled with complexities and sizzling with sex appeal.
He’s an unknown quantity and she doesn’t do those. He’s a weekend hook-up and she doesn’t do those. He is also the brother of the man with whom she hopes her future lies. But when an unforeseen twist changes Charlie’s outlook irrevocably, Chastity is left with a choice to make.
Roman is Book two in The Hunter Brothers series; a collection of full length erotic romance novels designed to be read in order. ‘Lucas’ is the first title in the series of this hot new release.
Due to strong language and sexual content, this novel is recommended for readers over 18.
I loved, absolutely loved the previous book 'Lucas' all the characters, the humour, relationships everything and out of all the characters Roman intrigued me I couldn't wait to start this book, and it started well, Chastity is heading to the funeral of Silus Hunter she's running late due to a faulty sat nav and the fact that she simply hates the country, when she finally reaches the church everyone's gone, everyone apart from the most amazing looking man and for the first time ever Chaz is left speechless. The amazing looking man turns out to be Roman Hunter and all thoughts of Chaz's list go completely out of her head, yes she has an actual list, written out, a list of necessary qualities she's looking for in a man and while Roman doesn't appear to meet any of them she can't help but be attracted to him. We discover why Roman left and stayed away, lies are revealed and the book is looking fantastic, Roman is everything I expected and I was loving it, Lucas and Jess are building their relationship and we have a front row seat, I just couldn't read fast enough, but then it all started to go wrong and I can't understand it. Without giving anything away, so mentioning no names, two of the characters I loved in the last book I grew to dislike in this one, the more I read the more I disliked them in fact I didn't like them to the extend that I'm seriously considering not continuing with this series, which would be a shame because the plot is building and it has such potential but I don't know if I can get past this book. Also while I'm having a moan I didn't like the cover, I have a bit of a thing for covers I've been known to read books based purely on the covers, in fact 'King' by this author is a good example I loved the cover and also as it turned out the book as well but the cover attracted me initially, this one didn't work for me, why......well he wasn't how I pictured Roman which I know is subjective but the face was too big taking up too much of the cover the 'Lucas' one however was perfect and that's what drew me to this series in the first place. When I'd finished this book I felt disappointed, I know all the other reviews are really good but I had to be honest and honestly I felt let down.
The Hunter brothers story continues where it left off in Lucas. Chastity is on her way to lend her sister a hand with/after the brothers fathers funeral, on route she meets a hot guy in the cemetery. Unbeknown to her, he's one of the brothers. Up to the point where she's describing their encounter to her sister, Chastity remained the character I liked so much in the first book but as the story continues she's fast became annoying. Where the heck went the strong, assertive, decisive and like I described in the first book a hoot go?
The elusive Roman has returned and truths are outed within the family and more importantly between himself and his brother Charlie. (Prev book Chas and Charlie were close flirty friends) Chas and Roman get it on and no word about it their hot together, she knows it's a fling but she is gutted when he takes off. Now the tricky bit, what I just didn't get was that Chas had a list of what she wants in a man and kept Charlie at arms length in the first book. This book she has feeling for both brothers. The plot didn't move very far forward and I'm left waiting now to find out wtf is gonna happen in Charlie's book
So, things are about to get a whole lot more complicated.
If you're expecting a HEA- don't. If you want boy meets girl, they fall in love and the world is awash with unicorns and roses - you won't get it. You have been warned!
What you will get is a red hot alpha male who is dangerous, stunning and as sexy as sin; plenty of panty melting sex and one hell of a dilemma.
Roman is book two in The Hunter Brothers series and is not designed to be read as a standalone novel. As the lives of these sexy brothers intertwine, so do the lives of their lovers with brutal and life changing consequences.
As the series develops, you'll hear the story of Jess and Chastity, Scarlett and Ava, culminating in the explosive finale 'Hunted', told from the brothers POV. I hope you enjoy reading Roman and the rest of the series as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Lucas. Roman. Charlie. Tyler. Welcome to the extraordinary world of The Hunter Brothers ;)
What the hell! I was so not expecting s cliffhanger.........grrrrrrrrrrr.
But boy will I be jumping into book 3. Lots of twists and turns with this group of brothers that has really kept me reading and want to find out who ends up with who, who is selling theses brothers out and will Chas finally bitch slap Charlie's......."girlfriend". Gotta keep reading
*I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
Roman starts off where Lucas ended, but this time the story is more focused on Chastity, Roman and Charlie, of course. We get a bigger glimpse in to the lives of all the brothers in this book. We also get to see a little about how Jess, Lucas and Dex are doing. I love all the characters in this series. They are all so different in their own way and it's amazing how effortless the Author does this.
I was really excited about this book, because Roman is so mysterious and I love mysterious men. He is sexy as sin, a bad boy, in the military, with striking blue eyes, and he carries around a duffel bag full of guns! What more can a girl ask for in a bad boy?
Chastity was really interested in Charlie in the first book (Lucas), so when she comes across Roman on her way to the Hunter estate, and their chemistry is off the charts it's surprising but totally hot. As much as I love Charlie, I was really rooting for Roman and Chastity. I love that Roman brings out the softer and sexually adventurous side to Chastity. Chastity is a tough girl and doesn't settle for anything less than the best, but even knowing Roman will have to leave soon, she disregards her rules. And, Chastity brings out the sweeter caring side to Roman, which is unheard of. But, will he be able to give up his sordid lifestyle and break old bad habits for her?
Charlie is still interested in Chastity too and although he has his own issues, has all the qualities Chastity wants in a man. So, how will she handle these two gorgeous Hunter brothers?
This story was so hot, I loved Chastity and Romans bedroom games and I seriously wanted more. I was so upset at the ending though! There is a cliffy! Lucas didn't have a cliffy, but my oh my, does this one have one. I am dying to find out what happens......
This is the second of the Hunter Brothers to have his story told. I was a total fan of Lucas until I met Roman, He is the quintessential bad boy! Elusive, rough, sexy! A hot package of sexual sin rolled tightly into muscle! Chasity is Jessica's sister - not an angel herself and with her own issues. She brings out the best in Roman though, if only for a few days... Their surprise meeting and the heat and intensity that follows made this story a must read for me! Roman breaks all the barriers that Chasity has - he doesn't meet any of her "requirements" but has her so wrapped up she can't think. I loved the sexy, sweet, vulnerable side to Roman that only Chas could see. The sex was fabulous! Hot, steamy, real... Even more erotic than the BDSM current within Lucas and Jess' relationship. All of these characters in this series have depth - a real personality to them, that makes the stories so believable and keep me as a reader engaged. More secrets, lies, and flaws in the Hunter family are revealed in this installment. We see more of Lucas and Jess and how their relationship is coming along and we see Charlie too - really see him - genuine, jealous, broken, wanting love... There are several scenes that leave the reader with dropped jaws and question marks - creating perfect twists and turns and the "I didn't see that coming" thought! The ending is a cliff hanger and leaves you dying to know what happen next. I ended up having feelings that I couldn't explain after reading this book. It left me with questions and fears that I'm sure will be answered in the next one!
Sadly, Roman is even hotter than Lucas. I say that because it’s sad that most woman, myself included, are more attracted to the elusive bad boy then the keeper that Lucas most definitely is. Roman is not a gentleman, he’s not husband material, and he’s no knight in shining armor. However, for the few days he spent with Chas, she brought those qualities out in him and showed him he still has a heart. Mostly, I enjoyed this book, however, Chas was not left in the best light. I just don’t understand how she could want Charlie over Roman and now she has no hope of that since she fu@ked Roman. I hope Chas’ reputation is vindicated in the next book.
I really really really hope you will find somebody else for Roman. As far as i'm concerned Chas and Charlie deserve each other, both are selfish ,don't know what they want and with whom. In the first book you did a good job with Chas ,I liked her but in the second book.. hell no !! and Charlie gave that bad vibe off from the beginning so no surprise here.Even Scarlet is better than Chas, you know from the start who you are dealing with and with all that hate received from Hunter family no wonder she behaves like this .(less)

A family tragedy calls Roman home but he has no intention to see his brothers. The secret his father kept weighing heavily on him and is a burden he'd rather shoulder alone.
His quiet contemplation is interrupted by Chas the strangest, sexiest, most mesmerizing woman he's ever met. She needs directions... to where, no where other than his family home.
The chance encounter has Roman changing travel plans but his life choices has him no where for long... can Chas change that? Is Chas ready to sacrifice her list for the gorgeous rogue Hunter.
Amazing delicious book..here we meet Roman who is of course totally hot,is the the bad boy if the family ,the black sheep if you want to call him that.but at the end of this book for me he was the most amazing brother ,we also get to see a lot of charlie his book is next and i can't wait to read it. In this book we get to see more insight of Chasity and let me tell you she can bring the roof down but she is between two brothers that are hot funny, amazing,,,,this book end with a cliffhanger and we has to wait to find out what would happen between this three
went into this book not knowing it was a F---ING LOVE TRIANGLE......, and that by the end of the book, you still don't know whose going to end up with who. ARRRGGHHHH
This book whilst about Roman definitely should be labeled Chastity as it's more about her than Roman lots of twists in the relationships I really wasn't sure how it would play out
On sale at Amazon kindle for .99$ for the whole Hunter Brothers series including the random last 'Hunted' book. I liked the writing in Lucas so I bought this next story about the possibly bastard of the Hunter brothers, Roman aka the missing brother. Roman shows up only at the Silas's funeral which is unsurprising when the secrets and reason of why he disappeared years ago come out after the burial. Roman is some sort of mercenary fighter killer bad a$$ dude which ends up with Jess's sister, Chasity. There is TONS of sex in this story without much actual plot, I'm hoping the next book has something going on other then sex. Otherwise I might have to quit the series.
This is a total missing HEA!!! In fact the ends spells out the end for Roman and Chasity!! Oops, Spoilers! So I'm glad that I bought the whole set because this story would have upset me if I didn't have Charlie already downloaded on my kindle. This story is almost 95% in Chas's point of view and the next book is almost 90% in Scarlet's messed up point of view which makes me think that these stories have been misnamed Roman should be 'Chastity' and Charlie should be called Scarlet's cray cray obsession story.
I haven't read anything by L.J. Dee that I haven't liked and this book was no exception. The Hunter Brothers Series continues with focus moving to Jess' sister Chastity and her internal struggle to decide which brother she belongs with. She's joining Jess and the brothers at the family estate to support Charlie after the death of his father, but the weekend takes a very different turn before she even makes it there. There is a magnetism that radiates from Roman that's making Chas question if she should throw her list (of qualities that her perfect mate will have) out the window.
Each of the character's personalities are well developed and L.J. does a great job with including all of them in this in this story. As always, the sex scenes have plenty of heat. She of course leaves us with a cliffhanger to keep us on pins and needles until the third book in the series, 'Charlie', is released. If you haven't started this series yet, go pick up your copy of 'Lucas' and get sucked in with the rest of us!
***I was given a copy of this book in return for an honest review***
Softly gently and deeply. The author desperately needs to invest in a thesaurus. As gently (as in laughed gently) can be found 84 times throughout the story, softly can be found 56 times and by the time I started seeing "sighed deeply" on never ending repeat I thought "good God not another one"
The story has much more promise than Lucas did - given the author doesnt turn chas into a simpering whiner in book 3 like she did Jess in book 1. Hopefully the third book will have a decisive decision with no more wishy washing back and forth
However - the OVERUSE of adverbs and never ending use of the same descriptions really made me want to rate this one so.much.lower. I'm honestly debating whether or not I want to invest in the third - whether the good of the story outweighs so much that is truly just bad. Bad mechanics bad grammar bad style of writing.
The one redeeming quality of this novel over the first ( if you completely ignore the aforementioned) is that the author did angst and tension really really well with this one.
Again, loved the book. I always fall for that bad ass bad boy, and Roman did not fail to give me that. I wanted to lock him up and have my way with him. The tension between Charlie, Roman and Chasity was great. I was disappointed that I did not have the ending I wanted. (LOL how many times have we all said that?) The conflict between them was excellent.
However once again, spelling, grammar and the punctuation almost killed me.
I would recommend this book with the warnings about spelling and grammar.
What an amazing tale about the Hunter brothers. And bringing Roman home finally...drool. Seeing all the tense and the drama. And add Chas in the middle of Charlie and Roman well it just gets better. I just hate we have to see it end as it did. And yes, Scarlett is a psycho hitch, but who of us aren't when we go after what we want. Ok maybe, we will see if that is it in the next book Charlie which I can't wait to read.
Roman was every bit as dirty as I was hoping for. The problem he only lasted to a little over half the book. After that it became Chastity's story and that's not what I signed up for. I get that it's a great prelude into Charlie's book but a lot more Roman would've been nice in a book called Roman. Still, when he was there, he was dark, brooding, dangerous, and kinky as hell.
In this book we are introduced to mysterious and delicious Roman. The story continues where Lucas left us and is full of loads of delicious twists and turns. What girl couldn't resist one if not all of these brothers?
What I love about these books is there are no clichés. The characters and emotions are so realistic and raw.
3.25 stars. Hate that I can only give this one 3.25 stars. I loved most of it. It was hot, sexy, steamy, emotional...but then I began to not like Chas so much. She wanted her cake and she wanted to eat it too. The last 20% of the book she came off as a total cock-tease...if she couldn't have him then no one should. Still a great cast of supporting characters! On to book three...
Roman by L. J. Dee is even more captivating than Lucas, if that's possible. I can't believe how much you get wrapped up in the characters. If you need to escape , I would definitely recommend getting The Hunter Brothers Series. You can lose yourself with them.
L.J. you are so amazing! I can never put your books down. I end up reading it all in one day. Talk about addiction. Your stories are captivating. I personally am TEAM ROMAN. I love Charlie, but he had his chance. I still can't wait to see who Chas decides on. 5 Stars...always 5 stars!
I enjoy this second book. Roman is secretive and sexy. when he returns to the family and unravels the believe that the brothers had about the family. I love the relationships between the brothers, Greek gods, oh hunters.
Very dissatisfied with the lack of a conclusion to this set of characters. It's like watching ping pong with Chastity flitting between two of the brothers. Gonna read the next just to find out what happens, but really hope it is a lot better than this one.

Too me the story was not really about Roman and Chasity as much as it was Chasity and Charlie. Roman disappeared towards the end of the book but made it back for Tyler's concert. I still liked Roman and his secrets.
