Broken hearts can hardly mend the world. Unless they relinquish all that matters to them.
The relics of power have shattered, awakening the ancient Gods of Creation. As they stir inside their amber cages in Heaven, the Guardian joins forces with the Devil, hoping to contain their influence within the afterlife realms. The Gods, however, don’t need to move an inch to catch their prey. Mortal or immortal, human or fae, heroes or villains—all are vulnerable to the thrall of Reality, Reason, and Release.
Each has their own agenda, and they have already chosen three champions to do their bidding.
The more their hosts resist, the more the Gods revel. Before too long, there won’t be anything left of them to fight for.
In a world where evil has finally announced its homecoming, the only things standing between existence and annihilation are those fragile bonds of friendship and love that time has ripped asunder.
How does one accept that one of the series closest to their heart & soul is ending? By accepting that it has ended in the most perfect, devastatingly beautiful way, just it was supposed to. Am I crushed? Yes. Did I never want it to be over? Still yes. Was I happy with how everything wrapped up? Absolutely.
There are series that simply speak to you, to those innermost parts of yourself. Series that insert themselves and bury themselves so deeply that they become an integral part of you. This is what the All That Matters series is to me—a forever integral part of my soul. This is more than a fantasy story; it is a story of love, acceptance, grief, rage, revenge, and thirst for power. A story of betrayal. A story of loss and acceptance. A story of letting go. A story of dreams. A story of everything.
Red of Reckoning, the third and final book, was everything it was supposed to be. It broke me so many times. But it also healed me. It healed my bruised soul, and it allowed me to forgive. Not forget, but forgive. And forgive I did. It allowed me to follow the characters on a journey of acceptance, (self)-healing, and soulsearching. It allowed me to find the closure I was yearning for, together with those who needed it most—Una, Amaryllis, Malakai, and others.
Everyone had their own healing path, but they also needed to heal as a group. As a perfectly imperfect found family. The one who loves, but also hates at times. The one that feels so strongly it defies the gods themselves. The one that would do everything for those they care for. The one that can bend, but never break. Perfectly imperfect.
As one smart, tea-loving Devil once said: "Every love deserves a happy ending". The form may just be different for some. But it is a happy ending nevertheless.
Allow yourself to bend, break, and heal with this series. Allow yourself this journey, and you will never look back.
Thank you, Mirai, for allowing me to experience this story as one of your ARC readers; it is an honor I don't take lightly.
“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” Literally my mantra while reading and knowing that this is the end of the trilogy 😭
I honestly wasn’t expecting a HEA, but Mirai gave us one of the best HFN’s that I’ve ever read and it was SO PERFECT for these characters 😩 all of my burning questions were answered - the feeling of closure was so gratifying it’s not even funny.
Roman Empire. I will never stop tapping about this series - like, literally ever. I envy everyone who gets to read this for the first time.
Thank you Mirai Amell and Happily Booked PR for an advanced copy of this book!
This was book 3 so I had some catching up to do to accurately review (and enjoy!) this book! I’m happy to report it was worth the “extra” reading! Looking for strong relationships, both friendships and love?? Then this is it. The world of magic is beautiful and this trilogy is everything I wanted it to be.
We all know there are book series that will stick with you long after you finish reading. The series that you want to be happy ever after, but you know it won’t happen that way, but you still keep reading. The series whose character’s burrow their way into your heart, both loving and disliking, but nonetheless you have to see how their story ends. This is All That Matters, a series by Mirai Amell, was for me. The third and final book Red of Reckoning has brought this amazing story to an end, but this story will stay with me long after “the end”.
Mirai continues her amazing story telling abilities in book three, picking up where book two ended. As our characters continue their journey, we get to revisit with old friends and foes, while meeting new ones along the way. Along with the epic journey this book takes you on, the world building is beautiful and vivid. Many times, I became lost within the world that has been created. Imagery that drips of detail and captivates your mind’s eye. The world building pulls you in almost as much as the characters do.
I can’t tell you how many times this book ripped my heart apart and then put it back together again. I would be lying if I said my heart was whole at the ending of this series, parts of it were missing, however, I understand why Mirai ends some journeys the way she does. Devastatingly beautiful is a way another review described this trilogy and I completely agree. Storylines are all tied together, but the endings leave room for some interpretation of where life takes them next. A happy for now, with the chosen belief of happy ever after.
This book is perfect for romantasy lovers who enjoy epic journeys, dynamic characters, and a storyline that never ends.
As always, review any author notes before reading.
What to Expect: 🔥Scarred Anti-Heroes 💗Grief and Loss 🔥Powerhouse FMC 💗Dev!l’s Journey 🔥Second Chance Romance 💗Possessiveness 🔥Humans, Fae, Angels. Shades, and Gods
RED OF RECKONING BY Mirai Amell is the third book in the ALL THAT MATTERS series. This series is about a fantasy world where a land of humans, some with magic, and a land of the Fae have been separated for centuries by a Rift and magic. At the end of the second book the last of the prophecies had been fulfilled and three relics which had kept their gods slumbering had been broken. In this book the gods were still trapped in amber, but awake and able to interfere in the world. The three focal characters in the story were selected as conduits by the gods and their actions and choices would impact how the gods would interact with their the world going forward. I have loved every new addition to this fantasy romance series, and this book was no exception. When reading, readers should expect Enemies to Lovers, Friends to Lovers, Second chance romance(s), Powerhouse ladies with Scarred heroes, “Who did this to you“, Humans, Fae, Angels, & Shades vs. Vengeful Gods, Angst, Grief, & Healing, and much better understanding of the Devil's journey. The book is an extremely well written, full fledged fantasy story which included magic and the need to prevent a terrible outcome at all costs. It is also a romance story with heightened emotion and impossible choices. I was devastated by the ending, but appreciated that the author left some room for hope in the future. I sincerely hope that the author will continue to write this story, as the characters still have further that they can go. I would recommend this novel for all lovers of romantasy. It is a story that sticks with you, but I would not read it as a stand-alone book. The actions of the characters in the teo previous volumes are essential to the plot. The ebook is available in the kindleunlimited program.
I received a free ARC of this novel via Happily Booked PR and I’m voluntarily writing this honest review.
I don't usually include that many emojis in reviews but a round of applause really was the most fitting way to start. Red of Reckoning is pure devastation and beauty cleverly disguised as a book, poured into pages and concealed beneath a cover (and what a cover. Seriously. Just look at it). Everything I wanted from the last part of this series was here, along with many things I didn't even know I wanted. Questions are answered, final secrets revealed and unimaginably epic battles are fought as ancient evils return to Amon, bringing chaos in their wake.
Right from the beginning All That Matters packed one emotional punch after another, but RoR truly delivers the knockout blow. Certain chapters had me reeling in a way few other books have. Is there a happy ending? Of a very different kind. And that's all I can say without revealing spoilers. The only other thing I'll add is that I found it much more profound and memorable than a traditional HEA. This series far exceeded my (admittedly high) expectations from the start, and the final book was no exception. The journey may be over but I'll never stop saying it: the All That Matters books are absolute must-reads
"She'd loved him, loathed him, desired him, denied him, but not in a million years had Amaryllis imagined pitying Malakai."
It's hard to review a 3rd book without spoilers, but I'm gonna try lol.
Going back to what I said about Truth in Blue (book 1): Malakai did nothing wrong (okay, he does a lot of wrong, and he makes it easy to hate him sometimes, but I also just love him so much). And precious Una, I wish I could hug you and let you cry on my shoulder. I don't think I could pick a favorite character if I tried (because how am I supposed to pick between Amaryllis, the Devil, Zeb, Tristen—you see my point?)
The romances and spice (and oh boy the spice 🥵) felt earned and earnest every step of the way throughout this series.
Red of Reckoning is equal parts lyrical in its writing, funny, mystical, and an emotional punch straight to the heart. I lost count of how many times I cried or had to just sit there and stare into the distance. I'm not okay in the best way, and I already can't wait to take this journey again in the future. It's been a while since a series or book has wrenched this much emotion from me and I loved every second. Thank you for wrecking me, Mirai 😘
This is the third and final book in the All That Matters trilogy. This book definitely packs a punch and gives life to the term going out with a bang.
Naturally , the book continues from where book two left off. In this book you're going to be turned in circles in all the best ways. Many questions that you may have had will be answered in this book. It's going to wreak havoc deep down into your soul and make you feel so many emotions. One minute you're goimg to be grabbing your tissues, the next minute you're going to be screaming and yelling, and the next minute you're going to be cheering with your hands high in the air.
The characters are true to who they are even in their most vulnerable moments. They are so well written that you literally feel like you know them personally.
This book and this series gave you God's and the Devil. It gave you heaven and immortals as well as humans and so much more. It's everything a fantasy lover like me wants in a book. This is a definite must read series and a great way to end it all.
Red of Reckoning by Mirai Amell delivers a powerful and emotionally resonant conclusion to the All That Matters trilogy. The narrative follows Malakai, Amaryllis, and Una as they confront the awakening of the ancient Gods of Creation—Reality, Reason, and Release—who have chosen them as unwilling champions. As these deities stir within their amber prisons, the protagonists grapple with their own inner demons, forging and testing bonds of love, loyalty, and identity.
Amell’s lyrical prose weaves a rich tapestry of myth and magic, creating a world where the lines between mortal and immortal, hero and villain, blur. The characters’ journeys are marked by profound growth and sacrifice, culminating in a finale that is both heartbreaking and hopeful. This installment masterfully ties together the threads of the previous books, offering a satisfying closure that lingers long after the final page.
A must-read for fans of character-driven fantasy and romantic tension, Red of Reckoning is a testament to the enduring power of love and friendship in the face of cosmic upheaval.
In order to understand this book, I read the first two books of this series, which were Truth in Blue and Jaded Reasons. And let me tell you this, those two books are freaking amazing!! They truly set up for what the final book of the series is all about! And Red of Reckoning was truly a masterpiece !!! I absolutely loved the way this book ties up the whole series !!
The way Mira has the ability to create such an extravagant, detailed world with so many beings is truly outstanding and out of this world !! A huge round of applause for her creativity and her vision coming to life 🙂↕️ the way her characters are extremely detailed and I truly loved that at the beginning of the book, each character is explained thoroughly 🙂↕️ I truly loved reading this series and my mind was blown! I highly recommend anyone who wants to get lost in a series to read this one!!
This series … I’ve been struggling with how to convey my thoughts. This finale was… impactful.
It’s multiple POV and complex like the two books preceding… it does all come together and is absolutely worth the time spend immersed in the adventure.
The characters are powerful and flawed. The characters include humans, fae, angels, shades, the devil, Furies, Guardians, a sentient corridor, and vengeful gods. You have royalty and knights… magic of 6 different types…
This is a story about life. Bravery, making tough choices and enduring consequences, loss, grief, regret, blame, healing, growing, remorse, and forgiveness…
And of course, love... in every form and shape.
It’s powerful, heartbreaking, beautiful, and has the capacity to mend little pieces of your heart you didn’t realize needed tending to.
So yes. I recommend this series. Each book gets better and it’s absolutely worth it to me.
There are a lot of moving parts to this novel and it did take me a bit to settle in and fully understand everything that was going on. That being said, this is a very active novel. You wont want to put it down. Even when you aren't quite sure what is going on, you will want to keep flipping pages to unravel all of the mysteries.
Mirai Amell has created an amazing set of characters. I love that we get to follow and understand multiple characters.
Amell did a great job of giving just enough description and detail while still giving us a lot of the heart of the novel. It has wonderful pacing and lots of action.
There are not enough stars. RoR is the most beautiful, most soul twisting ending that I could have hoped for. Watching the characters grow and change and live out their purpose throughout the series was one of the best reading experiences of my life. It will always be a top recommendation from me. In fact, I want to beg people to read it. All stories should be written this way. I honestly felt like I knew each character, I felt their happiness and their sadness. I felt every emotion known to man while reading and I am actually unable to justify my true feelings with words. Just perfect.
A powerful and epic finale, "Red of Reckoning" marks the end of the "All That Matters" trilogy. The book continues directly from book two, offering resolutions to various plot points and providing an emotional experience.
The characters are consistently well-developed, making their vulnerabilities and strengths feel authentic. For fantasy enthusiasts, the series delivers a good mix of gods, immortals, and humans. Mira Amell's writing style is effective in drawing you into the story. It's a strong conclusion and a recommended read for fans of the genre.
a book that'll make you heart shattered and healed at the same time this entire series isn't just your normal fantasy book it's much much more and this is book 3 the final book of the series I'm sad it comes to an end! bring your tissue box you'll need it, it left me in sadness and happy years a Rollercoaster of emotions for sure but watching these characters grow & heal was captivating the authors writing kept me invested since book one! a must read !
ARC reader Thank you mirai_amell and happily booked friends for the opportunity to know the series, to read it and for the advanced copy of the third book.
I had to catch the previous two books, and it was such a suprice to find out that series and anyone who loves enemies to lovers and Fairies ( Fae as they are been told), they will enjoy the books.
Oh my goodness! Binge reading this series...I was and still not ready for it to end! I truly fell for these characters and was bout to rally for an HEA cause they have gone through hell and back! The ending was just amazingly perfect and bittersweet to say goodbye to them. Please give a round to Mirai and if you haven't read the trilogy yet, pick it up ♡ worth the read 100000%
Red of Reckoning brings readers to the conclusion of the 'All that Matters' trilogy by Mirai Amell.
There is a lot of timelines, character interactions, and character relationships to keep in mind while reading. Everything is explained as the book is read, but can be quite confusing at times.
Throughout the book, Amell has captured the emotions that come with life and the messiness of it all.
Red of Reckoning is book 3 in the All That Matters Series. This series needs to be read in order to avoid any spoilers. I really enjoyed this series. This book is written well and held my attention. There are so many types of characters and different POV's it's amazing how it all came together. I never felt lost. The characters and storyline were amazing! This is a truly impressive series!
Red of Reckoning by Mirai Amell delivered a powerful and emotional ending to the All That Matters trilogy. There are not enough stars to truly give this book because it was just that amazing. A well-written story that truly captured my entire attention. I found myself loving the characters and honestly felt a little sad to see it all come to an end. I can't recommend this book/series enough.
If you are in the mood for a fantasy that is also a little mysterious, this is for you.
There is a lot between these covers. I loved the way the author stayed true to the Fantasy genre, but managed to incorporates thrills, drama, and more.
Such a unique premise and it was very well executed. It is an adult oriented book that will take you on a quest and leave you wanting more.
Gods in amber. Reality unravelling. And bonds tested to the breaking point. Red of Reckoning is intense, emotional, and completely absorbing. Una, Amaryllis, and Malakai shine—flawed, fierce, and unforgettable. Each chapter hits like a storm. I couldn’t put it down.
The epic ending to this powerful trilogy. The characters, the magic, the world, everything was fantastic. We see the conclusion to this powerful story that pulls you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Mirai knows how to draw you in with her writing.
OMG this was a great story. It was a thriller of and page turner and the suspense was so intense I was on the edge of my seat and I just couldn’t put it down literally at all. The passionate of romance and spicy of tension and temptation was captivating and with the fighting of desire and determination of love . Action packed of drama and chaos rolled into one moment. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t regret reading or be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book by Happily RP via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. I was surprisingly pleased with the ending of this trilogy. Mirai did a great job of wrapping up everyone’s stories in a plausible way that was true to the characters.
I think this was the best conclusion that could’ve happened for both me and the characters involved. Definitely my favorite out of the three books, but I didn’t love it.
Red of Reckoning is the final chapter in the All That Matters series, and it closes out the story so so well.
This series definitely deserves more hype than it gets! Throughout the series, the characters grow and learn from their mistakes and their past traumas. They forgave others and themselves, and the end results were just so perfect.
Mirai’s writing adds so much, and her ability to build worlds and characters you can easily fall in love with is top-notch! The emotion she was able to pack into this story and the series as a whole is incredible — it truly is a masterpiece!
