Anansi is a supervillain and an idealist. He thinks he can make the world a better place by being in charge. When the United States government tries to pass a law that requires superhumans to submit to registration and testing, Anansi kills the man in charge of the bill in an attempt to push it off track, earning himself a dead or alive place on America's Most Wanted list. So it comes as a surprise when he is snatched up three years later to save America by the very government he stood against.

Decent. Read many better, especially superhero books who tried to be dark (Worm). Anansi is kind of hard to relate to, especially how he instantly forgives Ghost after her betrayal.

Also, I suspect this is one of those series where each book focuses on a different member of the Redpath family, which I don't usually like. Although there's a decent chance one of the others will be a better MC than Anansi.

I like a 'hero' who has to prepare for his engagements, overpowered inventor types for the win.

This is a fun little story. It's a great time waster and fits the bill if your just looking for escapist fluff. As other reviewers have noted.

Nothing in the story is completely explained and the whole premise is very much in line with "comic books". Its not going to win any great literature awards and won't change your life. What it does is make you smile and the characters are written with enough depth to make them "real". The one-dimensional characters are quickly out of the picture and the plot of the story is in your face.

It was like watching Saturday morning cartoons as a kid and does exactly what I expected it to do. It entertained me for an afternoon and made me grin a time or two.

I'll gladly pick up other stories by the author and hope that more adventures of the Family come soon.

I'll just get to the point in why I didn't like this book.

I found the interactions between the characters absolutely painful. Nothing about it felt real, it was all immature. The family seemed like the Brady bunch outside of one revelation later in the book. The Family was just too perfect.

The writing was fine, with only a few grammatical errors.

If you want a good Super villain book, go read the D-List Super Villain books.

its good, not that good, but good, i read it in one day, its light, when you are bored, you have a good time reading, its not dramatic and you havea good laught while you read it, its like reading spiderman with its little sarcastic remarks, i loved it, but it may be a little too light, with no real background for the MC, and some things made no sense, like they came out from nowhere.
but cool story and mc & family.

Super villain screwball comedy ?

Seriously fun book to read. The main character is less of a villain more of a hero fighting corruption who just happens to disagree with the current president and his policies toward personal freedom.

But what makes the book is the clever dialog and fun interactions of the protagonist and the friends, family, and love interest he encounters as the adventures unfold.

Probably one of the best in my opinion when it comes to personality of the characters, very good flow and dialogue, plot is highly entertaining and followable, lovable characters, and overall a good start from a new author. Since the title states that it is Book 1, I hope to read the sequel if it comes out.

I really enjoyed reading this one. I'm going to have to check out more books by this author. It flowed well and was easy to follow. The action was fast enough to keep you interested yet didn't move so fast as to confuse the storyline.

I enjoyed the story, the characters, and the style of righting. For so short a work there was a great deal of story there. Unlike a lot of others Ive read lately where it feels like 100 of their 300+ pages are filler and bloat.

I really hope this will go on for a while.

Quick, fun read. Not much depth here though. Recommended for super hero fans - or, more to the point, fans of charismatic, arrogant and slightly insane antiheroes/villains.
Did I mention it was fun?

It felt real

All the characters had personality and you felt a good connection to them. You felt everything that anansi felt. I absolutely loved his sarcastic super villain persona

Good, not great

This is a great book for a dollar, unfortunately it cost me 5 bucks. The quality and quantity leave much to be desired.

I really like this story. There were too many time jumps though. I hope there's a sequel, I'd be happy to read 6 or 7 more.
