"Monster Accommodations" is a fictional story about a lodge that accommodates monsters. The story is set at the Hideaway Lodge, a secluded and secure retreat that caters to creatures of all kinds, from vampires and werewolves to ghosts and goblins. The lodge is run by Trevor, the efficient and dedicated manager who ensures the smooth operation of the establishment and the satisfaction of its diverse clientele.

The story begins with Trevor's typical day, handling various tasks such as approving menus, addressing maintenance issues, and arranging entertainment for the guests. He interacts with a range of creatures, each with their unique needs and requests.

However, the peaceful atmosphere of the lodge is disrupted when a dire wolf is found dead under mysterious circumstances. Trevor, along with the lodge's security team, investigates the incident, discovering traces of pixie dust and the possible involvement of an illegal magical substance known as soote.

As Trevor and his team delve deeper into the mystery, they uncover a series of strange occurrences, including a breach in the lodge's magical defenses, the presence of a fairy intruder, and the discovery of a hidden cache of soote. The situation escalates, leading to a confrontation between Trevor and the fairy, resulting in injuries and the fairy's demise.

The story follows Trevor's recovery and the ongoing investigation, led by the security chief, Jeffery. They uncover more evidence, including the involvement of a smuggling operation and the possibility of a larger threat to the lodge.

Throughout the story, Trevor and his staff work tirelessly to maintain order and ensure the safety of the guests while dealing with the escalating crisis. The lodge's unique environment and the diverse cast of characters add to the intrigue and complexity of the narrative.

About the author

I simply want to entertain people.

That is the honest heart of it. I want readers to pick up my stories, sink into them, and walk away smiling, laughing, or maybe a little spooked. Writing has always been my favorite way to unwind and shake off the stress of the day. I have loved telling tales since I was a kid running around the hills of West Virginia, and now I get to share that same joy with others. If I can bring folks together through something we all enjoy or help someone forget their troubles for even a few quiet minutes, then I figure I have done my job right.

I live somewhere in the beautiful, winding backroads of West Virginia, USA. I do a few things, leave a few things undone, and keep my exact location pleasantly vague for no especially good reason. The internet, as we all know, is best used to gently restrain an author’s natural urge to stand on the curb shouting opinions nobody asked for. So if my work does not quite meet your standards, I kindly suggest you lower them just a touch. We will both be happier that way.

I have a deep and abiding love for scary stories, the kind we used to swap around campfires on summer nights when the shadows grew long and the flashlight batteries started to fade. Some folks call them flash fiction these days, but we know the truth. They are still just good old spooky campfire tales dressed up in slightly fancier clothes. I also carry what some might call an unhealthy fascination with horror movies, serial killers, and everything macabre. Others might simply call it good taste. Either way, normal is overrated and usually pretty boring.

I am older now, occasionally cranky, frequently funny, and always honest. A proud curmudgeon with a story ready on the tip of my tongue at all times. Born a hillbilly, raised on common sense, dipped in awesomeness, and dried off with a healthy dose of pure incredibleness. To become a national icon and world treasure, one must possess such qualities, after all. Take your pick on how you see me, or don’t. I am not your dad.

No matter what, I will still be right here in my strange little corner of the Mountain State, quietly doing vaguely important things and spinning the next tale for anyone kind enough to listen.
