Rate this book
NOW UPDATED TO INCLUDE THE 2024 ELECTION. Did you know that in the election of 1836, the Whig Party ran four candidates for President? Did you know that in the election of 1872, Horace Greeley got 66 electoral votes despite being dead? Did you know Henry Clay ran for President and lost five times? Did you know Franklin Roosevelt was elected President four times? The Ultimate American Presidential Election Book is a comprehensive guide to every single United States presidential election in history. YouTuber and former high school social studies teacher Matt Beat, known simply on the internet as Mr. Beat, adapted this book from the scripts from his popular American presidential election video series. This guide is easy to understand and filled with fun graphics and pictures to help each election come to life.

A quick, easy read. Unfortunately, not formatted well for Kindle (the electoral maps were useless, since the shades of grey that identified the parties were mostly impossible to differentiate), and there were some distracting typos and factual errors.

This book works as a direct transcript of Mr Beats YouTube videos by a similar name. In concept I love this idea and hope he does this with his other series as its helps for reading learners, expands to more audiences, and gives well researched YouTubers an interesting avenue for income. With that, I can contest this as a good jumping off point for further research.

I just wish there were some elaborations on some of the elections. It would be cool to get more details that may have not made the cut to video, or expand on his transcript with new information he found after the videos were released.

Still a solid pickup, especially if you want something clear and concise about the american electoral system throughout history

Great Book Based on Good YouTube Series

The book is almost identical to the iconic mr beat series, and I support him on Patreon. His book is just as good as the series but misses some images and humour that could be found in the videos. Overall, it's a great collection of elections.

Well done

A nice little snap shot of various elections. Mr. Beat does an excellent job explaining them without bias even for more recent elections. Worth the read to get a basis for our elections.

It was pretty good. It was a but awkward to just copy paste the scripts for his YouTube videos and just put them in a book, but it was still informative. Besides he’s a likable guy so it’s fine.
