Jessie is well on her way to learning her new life and settling in. The tough alpha, Austin, has joined her team, and she has painstakingly learned to fly. At the moment, life couldn’t get any better.
But it can get a whole lot…more irritating.
Her parents have decided to visit. They don’t know anything about magic, about Jessie’s new digs, or about the crazy crew living in and around Jessie’s house. She must do everything in her power to keep the truth away from them.
Which would be much easier without the unfelt presence lurking within Ivy House’s borders. It seems an enemy has figured out a way to magically bypass Ivy House’s defenses. Jessie is completely exposed.
The real battle, however, won’t be with the incoming force. It will be between Mr. Tom and Jessie’s mom, each intent on being the most helpful. Mr. Tom might have met his match, and he is not pleased.
Just when things were finally settling down, Jessie is in the thick of it again, and this time, the turmoil is all around her.

Still going strong with this series. The only down is the blue balls we’re getting from the main protagonist. I guess we won’t get a real romance til the end.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The push and pull between Austen and Jacinta got annoying in this one. Also I do not know what happened to her parents? Did that get resolved off page? Or did GraphicAudio just not include that part?
This series is so freaking funny. I love it. The menagerie of characters is a nonstop, hysterical mix of chaos, and I can't wait to find out what happens next.
Basic Plot: Jess is growing into her powers and growing her team, but that's not easy to do when one's completely mundane parents come for a visit.
I continue to love how much I relate to Jess as a character. Her mundane parents crack me up entirely, as does her relationship with them. Their idiosyncrasies are entirely normal, believable, and hilarious. Most of us have stories about our parents and how odd they can be. And even in middle age, we try to please them, caving to their oddities.
Jess's relationship with Austin is probably the most frustrating part of the book. Normal people who decide they aren't going to have a romantic relationship don't go on dates, don't take naps together, or get as touchy-feely with each other as these two do. It's a super-artificial barrier, and it's annoying. It doesn't have any ring of verisimilitude at all.
Otherwise, the pacing is good, the action is fun, and the story moves along. The humor and tension balance well, and the voices are perfect. They make the book even funnier. I loved every minute.
I had a lot of fun with this book too, I don't usually like the graphic audio, but I think this one is well done. I enjoyed the fact that her parents were involved, but at this point in the series its starting to feel like the Graves mage guy isn't even important. Like he's barely doing anything. I'm also not trying to blend it with the next book which I already started because that one begins with an argument over the really obvious connections the entire group have with each other and their emotions.
Although this book didn’t hit as good as the first 2, I am thoroughly enjoying this series. It’s fun and quirky and funny with lots of dramatics and magical elements
