An unexpected ride on the Devil’s bike wasn’t part of the plan.
I came to New Orleans for a taste of freedom, the kind my overbearing father and sheltered life never allowed. Bourbon Street, wild nights, no rules. That was supposed to be the plan.
I didn’t expect to lose my friends, my sense of direction, or my common sense.
When I wandered into a station and saw him standing there—dark, dangerous, and watching me like I was his next problem to solve—I should’ve kept walking. But instead, I let Raven offer me a ride.
I climbed on the back of his bike. I let him into my hotel room. I let him into parts of me no one else had ever touched.
What started as a way out became something impossible to leave behind. The days we spent together changed everything, but the life he leads and the truths I’ve buried threaten to destroy us before we’ve even begun.
He calls himself the Devil. I just hope I don’t lose my soul to him.
The Devil's Ride is a novella that serves as a prequel to an exciting upcoming series. It has a "To be Continued" ending. This novella explores mature themes, including dark MC elements (though these are lighter in this installment), adult language, and explicit sexual content. If any of these topics are personally upsetting, please proceed with caution.
N.D. Roldan writes the kind of romance your Kindle warns you about: dark, forbidden, and spicy enough to make your grandma blush. Fueled by caffeine, chaos, and questionable life choices, she believes happily-ever-afters taste better after a little angst (okay, a lot).
A proud Latina, when she’s not typing furiously at odd hours, you'll find her chasing tiny humans, reorganizing her bookshelf for the hundredth time, or explaining to strangers that fictional bad boys do count as friends. She firmly believes in binge-reading till 2 am, unapologetic book hangovers, and stories that linger long after you’ve flipped the final page.
Follow along to join her endless TBR list, heartfelt chaos, and characters who never behave themselves.
Oh this was super cringy!!!! The writing was very elementary. The conversations between the MMC and FMC were unbelievable and so cringy. It was extremely hard to get through this book and I skim read the majority just so I wouldn’t have to DNF. One star is being generous.
Great quick read, but left me wanting more. What's next? Where's THE HEA? Talented author & Hope to see more from her , maybe use this novella as a start to a MC romance series. (Reviewed by Lin)
Wooh okay, so I was immediately pulled in, although Mandy is extremely reckless. So because of the pull to the danger, straight away I was hooked and just didn’t put the book down.
Plot
Hmm the plot is there slightly, id say this is more smut than anything. The danger isn’t as dangerous as I’d hoped and I think this could have been longer so the effect of the Iron Kings MC and The Vipers MC could have been more in-depth.
Characters
I wish there was more of Mandy and Raven’s background, as they are both intriguing characters.
Recommend
If you are looking for a quick read that will keep you hooked from start to finish, this could be the book for you.
Favourite Quotes
“Forget her. It should’ve been simple. But Mandy wasn’t a girl you forget. She crawled under your skin and stayed.”
“Baby girl, I was supposed to be the one ruining you.”
“Your my only truth in a world of lies, Mandy.”
“The Devil and his little blue Barbie.”
Favourite Chapter/s
My favourite chapter was chapter 2.
Summed up in one sentence
A quick dark MC novella with a lot of f bombs.
Overall Wrap up
I did enjoy this and the fact I read it all in one sitting proves that. I just felt like something was missing, yes its smut, but the potential for the plot line to come through is really strong and would just off loved the chance to delve into their background more as it felt like it was touched upon but never explored, unlike each other.

This was a good taste if you find yourself thinking about getting into the world of MC romances. It’s a novella and didn’t take much time to get through. I have read many MC romances, so I am well versed in that world, and this was a good taste to get you pulled into this kind of story. It is a story about a girl, Mandy, that is doing her best to break free from her past. She has been sheltered and had an overbearing father, so she is in New Orleans to break free. While she is out with friends one night, she finds herself alone and lost. She ends up running into Raven or Devil. He offers to give her a ride on his bike. Of course, the chemistry between these two is off the charts so they act on the feelings they are both having. This book doesn’t have a seriously deep plot and mostly focuses on the interaction between the two main characters. It gives you a taste of an intense connection between these two but leaves you yearning for more. You can’t help but wonder if this is truly the end of their story or if there is a future for these two. This is a good book to check out if you want a short taste of a spicy relationship involving an MC member and the woman he has fiery chemistry with.
The audiobook of this story was a good way to dive into this novella. It is narrated by just one person. Some people are against a single narrator, but I really think that this narrator did a good job of bringing this story to life. I have never listened to a book narrated by Lyla C. Grey, but I thought she did an excellent job narrating the entirety of this novella. I feel like her voice was one that I had no issues following and she did a great job of presenting this story in audio form.
This was a short, fast paced MC romance that mostly focuses on the intense chemistry between the two main characters. Even though this was a short story, there was still plenty of spice to enjoy. With the great chemistry between the two, the spice was well written and enjoyable. If you are looking to dip your toes into the MC romance world, this would be a good one to get that taste.
Raven/Devil plays the knight in shining armor when Mandy is left stranded by her friends. The big city girl is looking at breaking away from her overbearing father while she is on vacation and Raven is just the man to make that happen. What is not known is that Raven/Devil is a member of an MC and now finds themselves at the wrong end of a club out of New York. He had no idea that Mandy has a connection in all of this and that blows Raven’s world apart.
The chemistry between Raven and Mandy is sizzling but it’s the chaos around them that tear them apart. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store next.
Fast read with a lot happening from a girls weekend to getting lost and rescued by a biker, from dropping her off at hotel to spending the weekend together, from girl on a fun weekend to daughter of all MC’s enemy to being followed by a rival MC. I want to know what happened next
Really enjoyed this my only complaint is the story feels unfinished. Wanted and need more please finish the story so they get a happy ending or something! Please
Mandy is on vacation and ready to feel free—no rules, no expectations, just a little fun. Then she meets Raven, and one wild night changes everything. What starts as heat and temptation quickly pulls her into a world of danger, rival MC gangs, and secrets that hit closer to home than she ever imagined.
Raven is the kind of man you don’t forget—and Layla’s narration made every sizzling, heart-pounding moment come alive. Smooth, intense, and oh-so-addictive!
Loved listening to this story. There were several twists and turns. This was a quick novella but would have loved to see this a full length novel. And I hope there is another book….ending with no HEA….WTF.
“Because, princess, some chains are invisible, but they still hold you just as tight.”
I came to New Orleans for a taste of freedom, the kind my overbearing father and sheltered life never allowed. Bourbon Street, wild nights, no rules. That was supposed to be the plan. Mandy certainly lives to err onto the wild and dangerous side of things. I would not have the confidence she has in the position she was in. I’d probably be a blubbery, quaking mess! What I really liked about her was her stubbornness and tenacity. She has a lot of great traits but I wish we had more time to look into them. So, I hope the books that will follow this will give us ample time to really get to know her. Raven is all darkness and brooding. I absolutely love it. He’s a gentleman in a thug’s body which is brilliant because we got to see these little moments of softness from him before big bad Devil had to come out and play. Seeing this glimpse of him was fun, I hope we get a lot more in the future.
I stumbled across this novella on a Stuff Your Kindle day and found myself intruiged by the blurb. So though, what the heck I’ll give it a go! And woooo, I am glad I did! I think what I appreciated most about this is that it was plot with spice, not spice with a tiny bit of plot. It’s fast paced and packs in a lot of information but I found myself engrossed. This book is meant to set up a future series and it does it perfectly. Character wise, the focus is predominantly on the main two characters. Whilst we get glimpses and flashes of other characters, I liked that for this novella, the focus was on Mandy and Raven. And what a connection they have! It is practically electric. Their chemistry blows many other couples out the water for me. The tender yet dangerous moments, interspersed with these delightfully spicy scenes, were perfection. I cannot wait to see where the author goes with that ending and bringing this story to life in a full length book.
Overall, The Devil’s Ride is a brilliant novella that sets the reader up for a series I am sure will blow us away.
The Devil’s Ride is quite suspenseful and a page turning MC romance. I absolutely loved reading this book, which had me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading. I couldn’t put this novel down for a single moment because I was that captivated by the story. This novel contains a marvelous plot, outstanding characters and an ending that I wasn’t expecting at all. The characters are well developed and beautifully executed throughout the story. The main Characters of this story are Devil and Mandy. The chemistry between these two characters is absolutely smoking hot and breathtakingly fascinating. To be completely honest, the ending wasn’t what I was expecting it to be. I actually do hope that Author N. D. Roldan will continue their story in another novel because this ending felt like a cliffhanger to me. However, The Devil’s Ride is a novella that I would give as a recommendation for anyone to checkout and give it a read. N. D. Roldan did a fantastic job with the way they created and wrote this fabulous MC romance. I’m looking forward to reading more fantastic stories from this author in the future.

I loved it. I want more. I laughed, I worried and I cried! So much emotion packed into such a short time. I need to know what happens next. I need to continue in the series! So good! Spice 4 out of 5. Definitely recommend

Usually I'm not a fan of novela for obvious reason. Little tiny book making you hungover in the worst way cause the story is not done. Far from done. But, I have to say, this one was quite good for an opening to the real book in a new series the author gonna launch.
So, about the book. Not a fan with the girl. I mean, she's a stereotype. Good girl looking for adventure with a line, “And how do I know you’re not some kind of serial killer?” to a stranger who, in her word, felt risky. Cause, " His clothes were worn, his boots scuffed, and the leather vest he wore bore the faint insignia of a motorcycle club I didn’t recognize..."
I know this is fiction but come on...
Then... "...slow and deliberate, the blunt head of him stretching me in ways I’ve never been stretched before." Why? 😭 why need to wrote that like she's an experienced girl when at the nearest future in the chapter, it shows she's a V card holder?! To wrote that line is just sound so cringy and not necessary.
Next is... I don't know what to call her. For someone to act so tough but actually ignorance fool, this girl really walking talking stereotype. Asking to be brought to MC club without knowing the danger while so arrogantly say the most dangerous is already in her life? Yeah if she wasn't made to be main character, she'll be club bunny.
The good point about this book? The promise of the dark MC life. But if the girl still that vapid, yeah Raven need a new old lady.

This was an ALC review so let me first base my review off that.
It was female narrator based only and she did a good job from what I thought, the male voice wasn’t too terrible. I haven’t heard anything from her before so I couldn’t compare her work to anything else.
NOW - for the actual story - this was a 3.5 ⭐️ review and that’s being generous I think. Raven was super generous on the princess usage and I about turned it off based on that. Mandy was basically falling in love by day 2 and I’m like homegirl slow your roll, you thought he was a serial killer and now you love him. The iron kings part really confused me with how her dad was involved. I had to re-listen to that part to have it make sense.
And the ending just straight made me mad 😭 because what do you mean he let her go after begging in his head for her to stay and then got her lips tattooed on his neck?! If there is a follow up book to this, I would love to read it just to get some closure (because I feel like the characters deserve it) but this novella definitely needs some re-working.

While visiting NOLA for vacation, she could separated from her friends, ending up in a bad part of town with a dead phone. The hot biker comes to her rescue at the gas station and offers her a ride. When he gets her back to her hotel, intending to just drop her off their chemistry ignites and they combust. But when they are called back to reality with a threat to his club, she realizes that she may have brought danger to his doorstep. They have a hot and spicy connection. Spending days wrapped up in each other. However, one real life calls them back, it challenges everything. The author did a good job making you feel their turmoil and their deep connection to each other. However, as someone that reads these stories for the HEA, this was disappointing. You won’t walk away with the field good moment.

A "good girl" on vacation in NOLA being lost by her so called friends meets a bad boy biker in a gas station and it goes on to leave the ending somewhat of a cliffhanger. This isn't a HEA type ending so if you're looking for one in this book you won't find it. This book feels more like a teaser of what's to come in an actual novel length.
I'd love to see a second addition to this with a reunion between Mandy and Raven. The spice was off the charts for being a novella and it had a good storyline to it. This could be the beginning of a decent novel if the author decided to go there so I've got my fingers crossed.
Much thanks to the author and hiddengemsbooks for the chance to read this before it gets released. My opinion about the book is solely my own and has no bearing on how I got the book.
This is a short novella in which we learn nothing except that a girl came from New York for some vacation with her friends, they drop her off at a party and she meets the main male character. Ten chapters of sex follow (I'm not kidding at all), and only in the last chapter we find out why she's in trouble. who is her father and why is she returning to New York. Honestly, I don't want to be an asshole, but the story had the potential to be really interesting, but it turned out totally different. I really apologize, but the story did not make any impression on me and I gave it this rating because I think the writing style is ok.

Mandy is on a break with her friends in New Orleans when she gets separated from them and her battery dies. When she gets lost and asks for help, a biker comes to her aid. Raven offers her a ride back into the city but can she trust him?
When Raven and Mandy start chatting, a spark of attraction ignites. Can Mandy let loose while she is away from her controlling father? Can Raven walk away after 1 night?
The attraction deepens quickly but Mandy brings trouble to Raven's doorstep. When she tells him who she is and why a rival MC has encroached on their territory does Raven have to pick sides? Does he pick the woman who has become part of him or does his brotherhood come first?

The Devil's Ride is not the dark MC story that I expected. It is a story of first loves that run deep and true, or so it seems to me. That is not what you get from most MC romance stories. Raven did the right thing in the end, which was the difficult thing to do. Then again, so did Mandy. I would love to read another story in which we find out if they ever come together and if their last night together yielded something more.
There is a little action in the storyline, some drama, but mostly this is a romance story that becomes steamy. It is an engaging, entertaining, quick read that you will enjoy.

Hot, steamy, with sexual tension you could cut with a knife!! Please, tell me there is more and this is not the last of Raven and Mandy we get?! I needed time to process, and come down from my high after reading The Devil's Ride, my mind wasn't in the land of reality and I didn't want to come back. I wanted more! Ending on a cliffhanger, leaving you wondering if there will be more of their story to come.
If you want all the spice and sexual tension to make those butterflies start fluttering, pick this beauty up and dive into this Motorcycle Club, age gap, touch her and die, steamy ride with Raven and Mandy as we get a small glimpse into their lives and a roller-coaster of emotions that will keep your blood pumping and keep you wondering what is going to happen next.

I’m guessing that this novella is a prequel because it is mostly character and MC introductions, smexy times, and an open ending (not a HEA).
Even if it is a prequel and not meant to be a full story, I enjoyed it. The main characters were truly caught in a Romeo and Juliet situation and reality has a way of biting when you least expect it. The angst was well done and not overly drawn out.
Mandy comes to New Orleans for a vacation and to have freedom from her dad. Her friends leave her, and she needs a ride back to town. Devil comes up on his motorcycle and offers her a ride back to her hotel where he spends the weekend with her. He receives a call and takes her to his club where he learns the Iron Maidens MC have come to town. Mandy realizes she may have put his club in danger. What secret does Mandy hide from Devil? Will it end his attraction to her?
I enjoyed this story. Devil and Mandy were hot! I like that Mandy does reveal her secret eventually. It does not end Devil's obsession with her. It does make him more protective. I loved his new tattoo.
I hope there is a sequel to this book. I want to know what happens to Devil and Mandy.
Riveting quick read that I absolutely devoured. Mandy and Raven have such a sizzling chemistry that leaps off the pages. There’s mystery and intrigue, young love blossoming at its finest, and then the devastation that can sometimes be reality. Mandy is trapped in a guilded cage and Raven is trapped in “family” servitude. They bond over their lack of freedom, but their lives are closer together than they both realized. Tons of spice…like chapters of spice! And my heart broke for both of them. Not forever, just for now. Very looking forward to the next book in this series and seeing where their story leads.
I was gifted a copy of the audio to listen too. I think this should have had MORE.. it shoulda had more of his POV and a male should have voiced as well.
I’m guessing this is a prequel to a new series or at least it better be. It has good potential… I’m guessing a series will be started with some of the characters and then this couple will meet up years later. She could possibly have a kid by him since they had unprotected sex the last night together. I guess I’ll wait & see where this goes. Again, this has potential && hopefully the rest of the series (if written) will also be on audio!

This is a very exciting story that I could not get enough of. I loved this book and highly recommend this story. Mandy gets lost from her friend in New Orleans and after a long while her feet start to hurt so she stops at a convent store. That is wear she meets Raven and he offers to take her back to her hotel on his bike. I highly recommend this Dark MC novella because I had a hard time picking this book down. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a quick read, and the descriptive language is well written. I will say I have never been a fan of the hero thinking they are all that..."I'm going to wreck you"..."you are mine forever" blah, blah, blah. It didn't add anything to the story and there were parts where it made me cringe. Mandy is a whole other story...not a great heroine. Nineteen, no clue...so young...
I was probably expecting more depth which I didn't get.

This is a prequel to a new series by this author which I look forward to reading. This is a shorter story that packs a punch in a short time. The characters are connectable and bring life to the story. I enjoyed how they pulled me into the story from the start and kept me turning pages fast. This is a well written story about what happens when you are looking for a way out but only to find so much more. This is a fast paced, hard to put down, engaging story that you don't want to miss. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.
