Just.. overdone? Cliche? EXTREMELY FAST OBSESSION, I'm literally talking a few pages in and already determining she's HIS from a PICTURE - and if this was my only issue with the book, I'd have happily overlooked it, but alas, it was not my only qualm. Unrealistic desires to use inanimate objects during spicy times (a heel? Come on, be SO for real right now). The broom handle scene, just, I cannot stop thinking about how uncomfortable and GROSS the OUTDOOR broom is - talk about infection. And she "falls for him" SO stupidly fast after he threatens to kill her - Again, BE SO FOR REAL. There's also some inconsistencies - like when the FMC tries to run away she states, "I don't hike. My hobbies include napping and reading -" but earlier in the book she is known to be a runner for exercise..? There's also typos (plus other inconsistencies) throughout. Don't even get me started on part 2... *insert eyeroll*. I get it, FMC 2 wants to hurt the MMC for "abandoning her to a horrible life," but the way she goes about it is SO theatrical and far fetched that it’s absolutely ridiculous. Spice scenes were even ruined half the time with words like "her pearl." There were also parts where I felt like the SAME thing was being said in 2 or 3 different ways back to back. I feel like there was potential here.. but it flopped for me.
